One of the best happy hour menus from 5p-6p everyday. My fav place to drop by after a long day at work. Can't beat the price! My main dish was the Chicken Pot Pie, which had a great puff pastry crust. The inside was made up of a semi-creamy sauce, carrots, peas, squash and of course, chicken. First time I came here was for drinks and snacks at night. Food: delicious!!! The deviled eggs were creamy, salty, crunchy. The corn fritters were perfectly fried while the inside was gooey cheesy corn. The food and cocktails were intricately made. The cocktails were strong, and there was a large selection. Though it was $5 for a single egg, which I find on the pricey side, at the end I wanted to order another round because it was so tasty I thought it was worth it. Service: fast. I came again for brunch: Food: there isn't a huge selection. I had the sesame flat bread and my friend had the veggie hash. Though the dish is simple, the flavors were so good, everything was well made. The portions are not big. We ended up adding a side order of toast and deviled eggs. The deviled eggs this time however we're not as good as last time. It looked like it may have been sitting out for a little and reheated. It still tasted good but was notably made with less care than last time. Service: slow. Didn't have to wait for a table but Had to wait awhile for our food. They forgot my coffee. Listen...I'm from the south and when I see a place like this on a random corner (in the south it would be a random corner) I see Mr. Digby's. It's a pub, but eatery with a curtain for a door with outdoor seating that caters to dogs too and tells the story of Digby on the menu. Shiiiiiiii, I'm in! I had a thing to do later so I only stayed for the Pickles and Pimento tray and a cold one. It was tasty, don't get me wrong, but there weren't any pickles. There were pickled cauliflower, pickled carrots, and pickled something else I can't remember but no actual pickles. Allgood, you've read my props before...good stuff, no fuss, say bye and move on...tell others to try. I came at a funky time which is happy hour, so no brunch or dinner available but they have provisions to try as they prepare for supper service. I'd expect nothing less for the super friendly random corner spot from a southerners perspective. Get it right and stay the path! Okay, I digress... We also weren't particularly in the mood to wait a long time after a long work day. She mentioned a new place just opened up on her street called Mr. Digby's and before we knew it, we were seated at a table there. You also have the option of making a reservation which is great. I've been here twice now and I love it! All the drinks taste great and you can tell are strong too. We've tried the garden gimlit ($13), papa doble ($13), and the elderflower spritz ($13). They're each very good, but my favorite that I would recommend to others is the garden gimlit. It's a unique drink that has a super refreshing taste. In terms of food, we've ordered: - Corn & Shrimp Fritters ($5): absolutely delicious, one of my favorite things to get. You get 2 so it's easily sharable with one other person. - Side of Fries ($6): Ya know, your basic fries but still hit the spot. - Sesame Flatbread ($10): Really tasty flatbread that comes with a sesame dip (To my south Indian friends, it kind of tasted like the chutney you get with dosa). - Spinach Dip Hot Bread ($12): This is the star in terms of food at Mr. Digby's, a total must get. It's a hot bread with spinach and cheese and tastes amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone else! - Broccoli ($5): Basic, but great. - Peaches 'N Cream ($9): A solid dessert that tasted good! If you're craving something sweet. I want to try the banana bread next time though. The only negative I would say is that the main dishes didn't strike me as that interesting. We had a great outdoor brunch here on a Saturday morning! The food and drinks were quite good, the service was attentive, the outdoor seating was pleasant, and they were kid-friendly! I enjoyed my Pink cocktail, and my husband's garden gimlet was delicious and refreshing! My burger and salad were great, and my husband (and toddler) enjoyed his chicken and waffles. We also appreciated being able to order a side of fruit and a side of fries for our young daughter. The staff was friendly and attentive for the most part, though we did have to flag someone down to request our check at the end of our meal. The Parklet set up was comfortable and pleasant. We appreciated having an outdoor seating option (and loved that we could reserve an outdoor table for brunch in advance via OpenTable). They restaurant was welcoming of the two young children in our party, and they had high chairs available, which was great. This has been one of our favorite restaurants and usually we have had good experiences. Tonight they were busy but well staffed. There were two big issues: 1. The service was terrible. Our waitress took our order and we never saw her again until she delivered the check. We tried and tried to get her attention and it was almost humorous how many times she ignored us. We ended up bothering other servers who attended to us. 2. The food came out luke warm. It was obvious it had been sitting under the lights for quite awhile. We sent the cold fries back and would have sent the tepid mussels back as well but we were hungry. It was a disappointing experience. It is a drag to spend good money and time and hope to have a pleasant meal but get horrible service and bad food. read more

Made a trip back to the city and Mr Digby's was listed as Eater's top new restaurant in SF so off we go. First, the cocktail program is amazing you cannot go without trying the cocktails! We went for brunch which they started brunch service a month ago with some kitchen staff turnover. I enjoyed my fried chicken waffle where the chicken was moist and waffle was decent. Burger was a Wagyu patty on the thinner side but tasty. The special starter (corn fritters with shrimps) was super yummy too! We had a lovely meal tonight on the mr digbys patio. They have an expansive outdoor space with heaters, warm and safe feeling in covid. We were hungry when we arrived and were pleased when the deviled egg and tartare arrived almost immediately after ordering. The egg was warm and so tasty! And the tartare was perfectly salty and savory. An excellent take on a classic. The pot pie had a flaky crust and the trout was crispy but tender. We polished the plates clean! And the banana bread pudding was a wonderful finale, like banana cream pie in cake/bread form. The cocktails were nice as well - but we were definitely food focused tonight and it was all delicious. Great ambience and music! Very clean and sleek-looking interior. We sat at the bar and came in close to 9pm, we got a great view of the bartenders making the intricate cocktails. They play pretty loud, upbeat, hip hop/R&B type music. I liked the music and it made for great bar energy, but I do think the music didn't match the food and would probabaly be too loud for a dinner experience. Their food is elevated American, with a menu of bar bites, hot and cold appetizers, and entrees. Their food is really delicious and interesting, but pricy for the portion size. For example, a single deviled egg is 5$. I think the taste was worth it, but it's definitely not a cheap bar food spot. Cocktails are fairly priced and unique. Both the tequila Sunset and Boulevardier had a very satisfying amount of liquor in them and nuanced taste. Great place for drinks! Parking is easy since Noe Valley is a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood. Lots of residential streets with free parking. read more

TLDR- Meh...... been to better brunch spots. I was recommended to check out Mr. Digby's. It's in the heart of Noe Valley, a few blocks from Chloe's. Plenty of parking, meter and 2 hrs. Lots of outdoor seating and indoor seating. I called ahead of time and they said no wait. Given that it was the weekend, it's such rarity to have a SF brunch spot without a wait... assuming it's new. Food - honestly, the food was pretty bland. There wasn't a whole lot of options on the brunch menu. We went with the devil eggs, chicken and waffles, biscuit and grits, and the corn hash(?). All 3 dishes were alright. The corn hash was very bland, and not super flavorful. The chicken and waffles were dry. And the grits was meh. Portions were a bit tiny for SF brunch prices (~$14-$18). Service was extremely slow especially with minimal customers. The food took a very long time to come out. Overall, probably wouldn't recommend this spot. Too new to judge but I'll probably head to Chloe's or Kitchen Story instead. read more

Came here after dinner on a Saturday night for cocktails with my husband. I found this place through SF Eater's July Heat Map. I honestly can't remember what was here prior...but it seems like they've really redone this restaurant, and made it so cozy! Between the two of us, we ordered the Digs the Cosmo (Grey Goose Citron, Cointreau, Licor 43, cranberry, lime), Snake Eyes (white rum, pineapple, citrus blend, spicy tincture, chili salt rim), and Digby's Martini. I really loved their cosmo and the snake eyes cocktails! We didn't get a chance to try the food, but it looked good. The menu is very simple - but in a good way; simple in that there isn't much variety in the menu (makes it easy to choose), and also the items too - just simple pork chops, meatballs, etc. Not fussy, but not trying to be. I went to Digby's for a birthday dinner last week. Very cozy, intimate setting, with forgiving light for the aging ;) (yet bright enough so that I can see my food!) The Happy Hours drinks were good, but the menu felt extremely limited -- we ended up ordering pickles. I had the special of the day which was fish n chips; it was good but did not blow me away. The kale salad, onion soup, and the seasonal salad with persimmon were stellar! I am a huge advocate of trying new places, but always hesitant when the entree selection is limited. But let me tell you, you will not regret coming here! The food menu is limited, but the selection they have is phenomenal! EVERYTHING we had was super super good. Our table tried the spinach dip bread, pot pie, shrimp stuffed cod, and drinks which included dirty martini and snake eyes, which all was AMAZING! I love Mr. Digby's in concept but not so much in execution. Fun Noe Valley cocktail bar. They are really good at the cocktail game. Food could use some improvement. I have had the French onion soup, which was decent, but I kept having to add salt and even some of my red wine for flavor! The meatloaf that I had tonight has a great taste but should be called "meat mush" as it was all jumbled together with the cabbage and onions. Super delicious baked eggs alla vodka! I've never seen this dish on a menu before and am glad I tried it. Eggs were full of flavor from the vodka sauce and the portion was super hearty for a rainy day. Our server was great and attentive. We had dinner this past Sunday (1/28) with a 7:30 pm reservation. When we arrived, we were rushed to order our food and drinks. The server said the kitchen and bar will close at 8pm. Not a pleasant start to the evening having to rush through our meal. The server Frankie (according to our bill) was pleasant but was insistent on getting our food order in. We ordered and the courses were paced out fine. We weren't rushed in eating. The bus person dropped our entrees off. Our party ordered the halibut and fish and chips. The bus person asked who had the fish. He handed it to the wrong person who ordered the fish and chip. He was clearly annoyed and not properly trained to explain the right dish. I ordered the mussels. It came out as a bowl of around 16 mussels and some fries thrown on top with some sauce. A small portion for an entree and forced to have sauce on my fries. I asked for some bread to fill up by dipping it in the broth. The broth was way too salty and not worth having. This dish was a huge disappointment. My friends thought their dishes were ok, nothing special. Overall, the food except for the mussels were fine. The issue was with the overall experience of the evening. The service from the staff and having to rush your customers out made this one of our worst restaurant experience. Would we come back? No! Would we recommend this restaurant, No! If your hours are posted, you are opened and you shouldn't rush your customer out. Otherwise, change your hours. read more
