Been a long time customer and this review is specifically for the newer management, which I had twice now. It seems they changed ownership in December in 2024 and I had Mr. Falafel in January. I noticed the food tasted different but it was still good. Fast forward to my recent doordash order (June 2025), my food tasted different and the falafel was bland, even with sauce. I ordered my usual shawarma plate and dozen falafels. The rice and meat was good, but I had some dry meat pieces that was tough. I was also disappointed that my tabbouleh salad was NOT fresh. I ordered my meal before 11AM, and the greens in the salad was yellow-green and on the drier side. I do want to try this place again, perhaps other items, but not until for awhile.

Wanted something a little different today so I figured I'd give this place a try. Parking is scarce on the street however there's plenty of parking in the parking lot next to the restaurant. Outside in front they have some tables with shade. Walking in they had coffee available on a table for patrons. The person who took our order was super nice, he asked if this was our first time in? We said yes and he gave us each a cup of their lentil soup. "The soup is fantastic!!" I ordered the chicken Shawarma salad, pops ordered a beef Shawarma salad, and wifey had the special veggie wrap. After bringing out our order the guy that took our order brought us out samples of their falafel balls. And gave us lots of tahini, garlic butter, and mild hot sauce. "Service here is outstanding!!" They give you plenty of food but IMO it lacked salt and there was a ton of hummus on the plate which overwhelmed everything on the plate. The chicken was good "just way, way too much hummus. I think next time I'll ask for the hummus on the side. "That's right I said next time, why next time? well.... the service is so good, I feel they deserve another go.

On our way back to SF, we made a quick dinner stop at Mr. Falafel. The restaurant is small with limited seating, but it wasn't crowded when we arrived. After placing our order, we grabbed a seat outside. We tried the beef shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma plate. While the chicken plate was good, my favorite was the beef wrap. It was perfectly crispy and so good with their house garlic sauce. I wish we had ordered the chicken wrap instead of the plate! We were too full to try the falafels, but I definitely want to next time -- along with that chicken wrap! The staff were great, and they even have a parking lot in the back for easy parking.

The Food and service were both AMAZING!! We went to this place after a really long and tiring shopping day, it was raining so we sat inside, it was a bit cramped but they welcomed with a complimentary Lentil soup and chips. Our hefty order was too much for two px but it still came real quick and fresh. I absolutely loved their mixed kebab platter and Crispy chicken. Everything tasted Authentic Jordanian! We ended up taking back home a to-go and had it next day as well. It still tasted great! I'm definitely coming back soon or sooner. Really recommend it.

Food: 4/5 Chicken has a decisions fresh charred flavor. Decent portion of rice, flavorful. Service: 5/5 Saad and Mohamed always go out of their way to make your experience exceptional. Wait time is never more than 15 minutes. Ambiance:: 5/5 This is mostly for takeout, per my experience. I have always ordered to go. There is seating outside.

Our order was taken by Mr. Falafel himself! Not only was Mr. Falafel super friendly and helpful, but the food was delicious! I got the Regular Falafel Wrap with hummus and feta cheese, while my friend got the Chicken Shawarma Salad. We both loved the food. The wrap really hit the spot, and the salad was well tossed. We will definitely come back the next time we are in the area! read more

NEVER COME BACK. PLEASE READ ALONG WITH OTHER LOW RATING REVIEWS. IT IS SO TRUE ABOUT THE OWNER/CASHIER. While the food was good but nothing mind blowing, the owners customer service and management/people's skills is something to be desired. Though he wasn't super rude to us (first time customer btw), we witnessed extreme level of rudeness towards the customers in front of us and that alone made it uncomfortable and then he was trying to be funny to us which wasn't funny but mocking us for showing proof that we had called in our order ("do you have proof of your order like your phone bill or a message or ???") it was very weird. There was no line or any sort of busyness of orders, he was extremely rude to his cooks rushing them, "let's go! Where's the order?!!" WROST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Just came in here for the first time & walked right out, only took about two minutes to see the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER by some big old ahole sitting his lazy behind at the register. A: this dude doesn't even acknowledge you while you're in front of him waiting to order B: while he's taking my order he had the worst tone & attitude that isn't even welcoming, just plain disrespectful at least I feel like C: as I'm getting ready to pay the total is $19.02 (quite expensive for 2 items) and I was about to pay with a 20$ bill but didn't have the 2 cents so I was going to step outside to ask my mom for the 2 cents and as I turn back... Guy: "don't worry about it just give me the money!" Me: *looking back at him "never mind, that was rude" Guy: "what was rude?! I told you not to worry about it" *as he holds up a dollar bill for change* At this point I had it with this big douche being rude to me cause I also work in customer service and I would NEVER talk to a customer like that, I don't know if he's the owner or just a regular employee but he needs to get replaced ASAP!!! Absolutely awesome falafel! Fabulous quantity. Freshly made. Large portions. A plate of falafel salad with feta cheese was glorious. So many flavors. Mr. falafel is hands-down, the best Mediterranean food I've ever had there Shawna wrap is amazing. Their sauce taste so good and nothing about the wrap felt heavy. It's just super good. Don't like tomatoes on my wraps and I admit I liked them in this, also the size is very well proportioned. Food? Great Price? Good Customer service? You'll have a better experience getting your prostate checked by the TSA. Don't ponder on that too long now. I shall continue: I asked the man (probably the owner, same guy on their logo) behind the counter what the difference is between two menu items and he replied with an attitude and degrading manner: " Really?....REaLlY??...C'mon now... you should know. I'm not gonna tell you. It's what you think it is". He was rude to the customers behind me as well. Just one bad experience by one customer? Maybe. People DO have imperfect days and not everyone is having a fruitful time everyday. BUT, for it being my first time eating there - it'll likely be my last. However, if I do make my way there sometime in the future and customer service is better than what I experienced I will definitely increase my rating. Stay Fruity Y'all! read more

Food was very delicious, the owner was working the register and extremely friendly he recommended the lam kebabs which were fantastic. I also got taboleh and it tasted just like my grandmas so authentic. The rest of the staff working was very friendly too. I will definitely be eating again when I'm in Morgan hill. read more

Food is AMAZING. The cook was amazing and had great customer service... The owner however.... is a different story... He was so drunk when he came in... and did the whole "hand me something and let me caress your hand". Definitely an angry/flirty belligerent drunk. He was screaming and cussing the entire 30 minutes we were here. I'm a huge customer service person, since I've been working in customer service for 10+ years. I'll probably just pick up the food next time and leave. read more

This place might be small in space, but don't be fooled it's big in flavor!!!! If you haven't stopped by and gave it a try u must asap! My husband and I love this place! We often do takeout because it's so small, with only one table inside and a few on the sidewalk outside. I always order the chicken skewer plate that is made with red onion and green bell peppers. The chicken is always moist and the rice served with it is very flavorful. I also like to get their hummus, that you can order by the pint, and fresh grilled pita bread to go with. We like to get it if we're having people over as it makes a great appetizer alternative to the store bought brands. read more

The food was awesome! I enjoyed a chicken shawarma and my husband had the beef/lamb. Both were awesome, beeflamb was more flavorful. We also tried the garlic fries, hummus and the tabbouleh salad. AMAZING FOOD! My girlfriend and I went because she love love loves Mediterranean food and I've never had it before, so this was our first time here and we LOVED the friendly atmosphere and great customer service! I have only had lavash chips here couple of times and I love it. You get enough chips for a whole family for ~$3 bucks. These spiced chips are so nicely fried giving it an amazing crunch. Will try their falafel someday and update my review. read more

This is a great spot for easy food that's good quality and reasonable price. We got the pita and hummus, chicken shawarma wrap, and falafel. All of it was delicious! My husbands family is from the Middle East and he said the rice was just like his grandma makes in Jordan and the falafel was so fresh and tasty! But my hands down favorite was the warm pita and hummus! I also love how convenient it is to order and pick-up during the pandemic. We will defininetly be back! read more

"'Does anybody feel like shawarma? I feel like some shawarma" -- Iron Man, The Avengers Now you do not have to be a Billionaire Philantropist Playboy Super Hero to enjoy what Mr Falafel has to offer (And really, a well-traveled wealthy dude living in NYC does not know what Shawarma is? Funny ending line but I'm not buying it). You can be, let's say, the mild-mannered funny dude cleaning up Morgan Hill's housing programs and still enjoy the items here. That includes a very good Shawarma, either chicken or beef. There is also a Yelp deal for $11.99 which includes plate meal, drink and dessert or the online special which is $10.95 for Sandwich + Fries + Drink. The spicy salsa is the perfect addition to the plate meals and the baklava I had here was very good. There is more seating outside than inside so on those cold, drizzly days..definitely more of a takeout place. Unlike some of the other restaurants in town this family owns, sodas here are served by the can...no refills! :( This is an excellent, tiny Mom n Pop serving very satisfying fare at decent prices. Recommended! read more

I was pretty underwhelmed at the time, but told myself that I should try it freshly made at the restaurant to give them a fair shake. I finally stopped by to check them out yesterday. It certainly feels like a drive-in restaurant with the five or so parking spots out front and menus posted above the windows facing the street. There are a few tables and benches for customers. One of the owners from the Nijmeh family patiently and politely took my order. I ordered the gyro pita, four falafel and a banana shake. It didn't take long to come out, just taking about five minutes. The falafel was slightly better in person than when I had it delivered due to the warmness. The same herb-heavy green inside the crispy fried ground chickpeas. It was tasty but does it stand out from the ones at Falafel Stop in Cupertino? No, not in my opinion. Falafel Stop has some fantastic falafel, slightly smaller and more savory. The banana shake was a slight improvement as well. I could taste the texture of banana this time and it was a bit thicker. The flavor was alright, although caramelizing the banana might help make the flavor more complex. Unfortunately, the gyro pita was really similar to how I remembered the delivered one. A thin and fragile pita barely holding lettuce and tomatoes drenched in sauce, with unwieldy blocks of gyro meat rather than gyro thinly shaved from a vertical spit. In two bites, the whole thing was coming apart in a complete mess. The flavor was rather ordinary as well. I can appreciate the long history and tradition of a local family-run restaurant. But I don't know if I've ever known of a more overhyped restaurant in my life. For me, the food didn't come close to earning the extreme adulation on social media and gushing reviews. There's a similar cognitive dissonance when it comes to Stan's Donuts. To some this would be considered sacrilege. And to this I say: merit and objectivity should take precedence over sentimental nostalgia.

It was super dry, and a bit salty and doesn't have enough eggplants and bechamel cheese. I have to say this is not authentic moussaka. We love Greek and Mediterranean foods and have been to many authentic Greek restaurants and had that even in Greece so there's a night and day difference.

I ordered an A-Jay classic cheese steak and garlic fries. Everything was quite tasty. The cheese steak had quality meat and fresh soft bread. The cherry peppers went well with every bite. Garlic fries were crispy and flavorful. Overall I enjoyed my experience at A-Jay's Cheese Steaks. The staff were nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was family friendly and welcoming. My only gripe is since the price point is high I suggest combo options with small sides available for better value. It's been a while since the last time I was here. Not sure when I'll be back but at least I satisfied my recent craving.

Another sign states that Betsy's has been serving this community since 1981. I was greeted immediately upon entering and advised to "just sit anywhere." I grabbed the first booth I encountered and was brought water and menu right away. The waitress took my order of a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings ($16.50). A few minutes later the onion rings of my dreams (super crispy on the outside and a real onion rings inside with enough crunch left that you can bite through without dragging a soggy onion out of its outer shell, so each mouthful is both onion and crunchy coating) arrived and a sandwich with crispy (not soggy, underdone) bacon, hefty burger patty (done just how I like them with carmelized edges and perfectly done thick center) with cheese, pickles, red onions, lettuce and mayo. I asked them to leave off the tomato due to my food allergies. The bun was soft but held up well to the heft of the sandwich. The decor was classic 60's style diner. While the seats were well padded and the covering looked practically new, some of the tables showed the wear of the years on the corners. There is also a short lunch counter next to the kitchen. What really caught my attention is the staff seemed to know most of the guests and greeted them by name as they came and went and inquired into different aspects of their lives. This personal touch reflects what seems to be a long-time relationship with dedicated customers. Parking is close to the door. This place was a little hard for me to find as it is behind the bowling alley at Tennant Station Shopping center, but was well worth the effort to locate and enjoy. So I'm at the local library polishing my resumes and cover letters to get into the working world and I'm starting to think I need to polish off a plate of some good old food. I search around the area and settle on Mr. Falafel; it seemed close by and homely. I wasn't looking for anything fancy and definitely nothing too pricy. After parking in the rear (take an immediate right before the restaurant or else you'll pass the opening to the parking lot and will have to make a u turn due to the next opening after the restaurant being a one way leading outwards), I walk into the restaurant and some big dude behind the counter loudly exclaims "hey what's happening? What's cracking?" In a booming voice fitting for his stature and I'm immediately hooked. He was super friendly. Super inviting and welcoming. Something that most places lack. It was a genuine "hey how are you welcome to my place" turns out he's Mr. Falafel in the flesh. We talk a bit and he makes some awesome suggestions in which I just end up telling him to make me Whatever he felt. He was so cool that at the end he even gave me free dolmas and baba ganoush! When I told him he didn't need to do that. He said "i know I didn't" very matter of factly. What a stand up guy. Now, waiting for the food was torturous but not really. The smell emanating from the little shack that housed Mr. Falalfel, off of Monterey Rd., was awesome to say the least. The outside seating was nice though, just waiting in the nice breeze, couldn't complain. The food came out and sauce bottles were dropped off. The feast commenced and I gotta say I didn't stop til it was all gone. I got sauce stains on my white shirt. But they're like badges of honor. The constant in and out of the waitstaff as they made certain I was taken care of was very nice as well. It's not a place that people typically tip but I left a decent tip anyways. Why not? Tip when you can. The food was dank. The wrap I got was some beef kefir wrap and the outside was nice and crispy and the inside was moist and warm. I've eaten at Mr Falafel many times over the years, it was good before, with the new ownership it's honestly on another level. Everything is just better now -- the food, the service, the vibe. It's fire. Today i came with my family and everyone found something they loved. kids got the new homemade buffalo fried chicken sandwich (huge hit), my mom ordered the chicken shawarma wrap, and I went with the combo kebab plate. Every single dish was delicious, fresh and full of flavor. No misses. They also gave us complimentary lentil soup, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the BEST lentil soup I've ever had, my mom asked for the recipe literally the best. Same goes for the falafel. Hands down the best falafel in Morgan Hill. My usual benchmark is Falafel Drive-In in San Jose, and I'd honestly put Mr. Falafel above it. What really makes this place special though is the owners. They are genuinely kind, welcoming, and go above and beyond every time. You can tell they truly care about the food and the people coming through the door. This is a review of my lunch on 2/3/12.... This is a "hole-in-the-wall", in that it's not large and has about one table inside a few on the outside sidewalk. The food took a few minutes to cook up, but not excessive at all for a cooked-to-order lunch. I tried the deluxe falafel- I had scanned a couple of reviews here and saw it recommended so... being a falafel fan I thought I'd give it a try. Big Disappointment. Maybe I should have read the reviews or the menu more closely and, if so, my bad. The falafel came wrapped in a FLOUR TORTILLA, and was shaped and wrapped like a burrito. I overcame my initial, "huh?" and decided to give it a try- I'm open to something other than pita and what I'm used to. Really, I am. Uh huh, No go. The falafel balls were not greasy (good) but they were very dry and not seasoned much at all (bad). And there were only two. This place is a fantastic lunch spot in downtown Morgan Hill, or a great place to grab a quick dinner to go. The place is tiny, but there is adequate sidewalk seating which is perfect for it's downtown location. But the food... the food is fantastic! The hummus and homemade chips are amazing, and we could have filled up just on those and been happy. But the lamb shwarma wrap with just the right amount of spice had me glad I had saved room! My friend had the chicken and had no complaints. The owner and staff all go out of their way to make sure you are welcome and Betsy was amazing in making sure we knew what we were ordering as it was our first time. I will definitely be back, and bring more friends! A small, but valuable, gem in downtown Morgan Hill! read more

This is the 3th time I have eaten in this place and will definitely be the last (I guess I was just not convinced enough the first two times). I do travel for business so I get to try different foods in different places. I have had Mediterranean throughout the US and this place by far is the WORST . The meat tastes old and rotten, the condiments not fresh at all and there is no Mediterranean taste in it at all. No the service did it for me. The "Heavy" GUY who claims is the owner is the rudest person I have ever met. He hired bunch of "Junkies" to help him out (excuse the word but that's exactly how they look like). The salads are healthy and refreshing! it is a tiny little place with big heart and big flavor! The people are very friendly and make me feel welcome, sometimes handing me a sample of something I haven't tried yet, which hooks me every time! So please, please turn your car around from that McDonalds or Burger King and go get something good for you. it may cost a couple more bucks but aren't you worth it? I had the lamb and chicken kabob combo with rice and house salad. The food was very tasty and delicious. It was fresh and they cook it right then and there as I am ordering so the food was fresh. They had nice customer service and suggested different dips for the meat so that was interesting and tasty! They have one seating area inside and 5 tables outside. The outside area is nice for sunny days. I would give them a five star if they had clean table sheets because there were some stains on the table. Nicer tables and chairs would have created a nicer ambience. The food and service was aMazing! read more

almost always get the shawarma plate and dont eat the rest of the day because its so filling. Definitely a good place for shawarma. You can never go wrong with a shwarma place, or any plate. I think they have beef and chicken, i only get the chicken its so good. The only thing about this place that i hate is the parking, during prime lunch hours, 12-2 you can never find parking. They have a valet guy but he just tells you to park behind other parked cars and then you have to go out there to move your car. But overall this place is worth all 5 stars. If you know anything about me I love me a good shwarma. A shwarma is pita bread, meat, veggies and tahini sauce. The shreds of chicken went well with the hummus and tahini sauce and for a boost of protein it also goes well over a salad. The bread pudding here is given in generous quantities and is a must if you visit this establishment. Also if you order over $35 this business will deliver your food for free if you live in Morgan Hill. Been coming to this place since a long time. The kefta kebab plate, which comes with tabouleh salad, pita bread, and rice is really tasty. Their pita bread is great. The rice is well seasoned. Chips and hummus are pretty good. I knocked off 1 star because the service can be hit and miss at times. I am not against people smoking. But this being a food establishment I would prefer it not to see an employee smoking. The staff can be nice, but also rude at times (like I said hit or miss). If you decide to come here, do it for the food. read more

I came here the other day with my BF, who has been here a number of times. He said it was delicious and cheap... and it was!!! We both ordered the falafel deluxe ($7.50 each), NOT spicy. My boyfriend said the spicy one was way too spicy and hurt his tummy when he had it before.. which is surprising because he usually does well with spicy foods. I really don't have much to say except that it was really good and reasonably priced. We waited about 10 minutes for our order. It was fresh, warm, and perfectly wrapped. read more

Just passed through Morgan Hill and saw this cute little restaurant on Monterey Road. My husband and I were anxious to try this new restaurant and are glad we did! The food was excellent. I ordered the shawarma with lamb and beef and the flavor was superb. The ingredients were so tasty and fresh. You can even see the guys make your sandwich right in from of you. I go to Mr. Falafel every time my cousin, Alicia, comes to town, and, my luck, she was here this weekend!! This time, I tried the "combo" plate, which consisted of, among other goodness, hummus, pita bread, 3 falafels, and tabouleh. My 6 year old had the 1/2 falafel in pita bread, and she devoured it! The food was amazing, and Art and Jimmy were incredibly nice. I can't wait till my cousin comes back to town, cause it'll be off to Mr. Falafel for us!! read more

This was a very good experience for us. Had the falafel wrap and it was very tasty with a nice crunch to the falafel. Home cooking fast food, you can't beat it. Nice area to eat outside and they brought the food out to us. Watch out though if you don't like much spice. I had the light spice and my mouth was burning a bit. Tasty though and not too hot to eat, though I would not be happy myself with the medium or high spice. Extremely friendly service too. read more

Worst experience and service EVER. First , I walked in to the smell of weed, you can barely see the eyes of the owner and his employees. They could barely talk. I should have left right then , but sadly I didn't. Then as soon as I turned my back, the OWNER start hitting on my pregnant wife . WHAT A SHAME. I am an American form Arab decent and I know about Arabic Food. I just visited this place and I had their Falafel and the Meet sandwich. They both were just great. I am so happy now I don't have to drive to San Jose to get my Falafel Sandwich. The Falafel is cooked when you order it, so its really fresh. The cashier was incredibly kind and surprised me with a free lentil soup, which was a wonderful gesture.
