Edgar and Arthur to the rescue! My hybrid electric water heater blew its lower heating element for the second time. Luckily, I had the part on-hand but I needed someone to install it - and soon, with a forecast of many cold, rainy days ahead. The water heater broke at 6:30 pm on a Friday. I completed a Yelp request for quotes for the repair. Edgar was first to respond (almost immediately) said he was available the following day for a fair price. Edgar and Arthur arrived right on schedule at 3 pm the following day. It wasn't an easy fix. Due to the calcification of filament from the other heating events that failed (i.e. due to a bunch of crud at the bottom of the tank!) the spigot to empty the water heater was clogged. I'd previously been told that the spigot would need to be removed and I'd have to flood the entire garage to get the water out. But these guys got creative. They tried to suck out the water by vacuum. Then tried to flush the blockage out with reverse pressure. (That worked for a second.) Finally, they emptied the water through the opening for the heating element and avoided flooding with a long pipe, which directed the water straight out to the street. Given the challenges of the job, I was impressed what how little water hit the garage floor. They brushed and vacuumed up much of it so that I only had to wipe up some spots with a small towel later. They even went the extra mile. Although they had other clients scheduled that day, they fully emptied the tank and tried to vacuum out as much crud as possible. Edgar and his people are super organized, reliable and great at what they do. If you are like me, who have gone through so many bad contractors, you will totally understand why these qualities are so important. On top of that, their price is totally affordable. We had to replace our kitchen sink. We had quotes from at least 5 handymen. Edgar's price was very competitive, but more importantly, he gave us a very good impression with his plumbing knowledge, which I did not get from others. That made it easy to make the selection. During the process, he discovered that the new sink (which bought by us previously) was slightly bigger than the old one. He came up with a solution which required a bit more money, and he communicated very well with us. We felt confident to say ok and let him take control. Based on his suggestion, we also switched the old food disposal to a brand new one. The total price came to $695, which was still lower than the price others quoted me for just replacing the sink. He also found out that we would have some gap on the tile wall that was against the sink, due to the different styles of the new and old. He then went to buy a triangle cylinder stick and glue it to the gap, which worked very well. He did not ask us to pay additional for this. After they finished, I was amazed by how good the caulking job was. They also helped us clean and organize the bottom of the sink very well - better than all I ever did myself. And that was not it, after throwing away the trash, they also cut up the boxes and left them in our recycle bin! I highly recommend Mr Flowright to everyone. If I have to mention a drawback, it'll be that they don't cover all the house maintenance work, otherwise I will definitely set his number on speed dial. read more

Edgar is an absolute gem and our savior! Our tankless water heater started leaking and it became obvious that it would need to be replaced. We spoke with two other plumbing companies that are highly rated on Yelp but so glad we ended up using Flowright. Details on my experience with the other two companies at the bottom of the review, if you're interested, but after a lot of back and forth with them, I'm so glad I randomly found Edgar here on Yelp and made the call. Edgar was honest and upfront from the beginning, being very transparent with the pricing, which was much less expensive than the other places I had contacted. He also came within 2 hours of my call, which was around 4:30p last Monday. Once he heard that I had two young children, he made sure it would be fixed that day. He showed up as it was getting dark and stayed past 9p to ensure it was set up perfectly. Edgar even came back a few days later when I called bc one of the faucets wasn't heating up as quick as it used to. He quickly fixed that and then also looked at two other unrelated minor plumbing issues and took care of those for no charge. We have definitely found our go-to plumber from now on! My kids were so thankful that they drew him a picture too. For a little comparison, below was my experience with the other companies: -- The first plumber we contacted was one of those bully types that tries to force you into a decision. He also got defensive when I mentioned that I was talking to other plumbers and accused me of 'drinking their kool-aid' - dude, grow up! Although it seemed like he knew what he was talking about, it was just too uncomfortable to deal with. -- The second company told me they could come by noon when I called that morning. I admit that I may have taken too long to make a decision bc I wanted to do my due diligence in research and they couldn't even tell me the model that they wanted to install before they went to the supply store. But, when I finally decided to go with them (lesser of two evils between them and bully) they told me they could no longer make it that day and were booked up for the next few weeks. A good plumber is very hard to find. Fortunately, I think my search may be over. I manage over 120 apartment units at various locations and often require the services of a plumber which is usually at the most inopportune time. Yesterday, a water heater needed to be replaced late in the day right before the 4th of July holiday. My regular plumber would not be able to replace it until 2 days later which was unacceptable to the tenant. I got various quotes and many were unavailable to do same day service. I contacted them in regards to upgrading my parents water heater to tankless. They scheduled an appointment quickly...it's been almost a month since they came. Great explanation of what to expect, we were looking forward to using them for services but we never received the estimate after they came. Not verbally or by email. Asked them for it twice. Both times were told we'd get it. Still haven't. When they came their was a Hispanic guy that came with the owner who told my dad that "the appointment is taking too long Like usual and people don't hire us making it a waste of time."
