Ordered a large half BBQ chicken, half Supreme pizza. For the supreme, I asked for no bell peppers and wanted to substitute pineapple instead. They unfortunately could not do the substitution but they let me know I could add pineapple as a topping for $1.75. However, I felt this didn't seem fair since that was the price to add a topping to a whole pizza whereas I only wanted it on half of a pizza. The guy taking my order suggested adding pineapple as a side instead of a topping, since it would cost 75 cents as a side. I ended up following his recommendation and was satisfied with my pizza. I happened upon Mr G's during lunch time and took advantage of their lunch specials situation. For $5.99, you can get one slice of pizza and a soft drink - don't do that. Upgrade your order to two slices of pizza and a soft drink for $1 dollar more = $6.99. What a value. What's interesting here is that you don't choose your pizza slices from pre-existing pizza (maybe a COVID-19 adjustment), but instead, you get to choose up to two toppings per slice! Doesn't need to be matching! Whatever your heart desires! I buckled under pressure and order a slice of pepperoni pizza (boring) and a slice of sausage + mushroom. Because of health, I also had a side order of their garden salad ($4ish). Everything was pretty good. No complaints. It's just a very solid tasting slice of pizza with no frills. Need a cheap lunch? The dough they use it so good, it's like an airy bread that doesn't feel heavy at all. The wings was lacking sauce/flavor and the meat was just dried out and didn't have much to it. This place was about 1.1 miles away from where I was staying. My food was cold. The pizza was cold, and not cut all the way. Ordered a thin crust and it was so hard maybe because it was cold. It's my first time at Mr. G's pizza and I was greeted by the cashier when I walked in. I took my order and waited for about 10-15 mins to get my food. Overall the restaurant is really clean but they didn't have much outdoor seating. It's mainly takeout. I ordered one slice of pizza with pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeños. I am excited for my pizza end to try it. So far it looks fresh and delicious. They wash their hands pretty often and everyone is wearing a mask too. Of course, we had to order half & half of each selection so that we can try both flavors and decided to get Korean BBQ & Tikka Masala! The teenager on the phone seemed friendly and helpful. We arrived at the exact time when we wanted the pizza and it was ready for us when we arrived. Onto the food, I wanted to try each pizza without any added cheese or red peppers and the Korean BBQ was excellent! The Tikka Masala was good but definitely not as good aa Korean BBQ in my opinion. I can't imagine Diamond Bar without Mr G's Pizza, a family owned pizza restaurant that makes some solid pies for good prices. I think what I do like most about the pizzas is despite whatever topping(s) you get, you're guaranteed to get a pizza with a crispy crust and made with much less grease than most pizza places. The staff is also always friendly and easy to talk to. My favorite pizzas here are either just a mushroom pizza or the combo pizza. We arrived around six and the place was busy After reviewing the menu.. pretty extensive for a pizza joint.. they have pizza, sandwiches, pasta dishes like ziti, lasagna, spaghetti with meat sauce, wings & salads. We settled for a large two topping pizza and a small antipasto salad. Wait time was right for a busy night and fresh baked pizza. Lots of mushrooms & pepperoni and nice chew on the crust. I've been to Mr. G's a couple times so far, and I think it is a solid choice for pizza in the area! My first visit, I ordered half Zylstra and half cheese. The Zylstra was nice because it was most of what you'd expect from a combo pizza. The cheese pizza alone was also nice, a solid cheese pizza! This time around, I got the Korean BBQ pizza and Buffalo wings. The BBQ pizza was very nice! It was rather tasty, although I feel that the Korean flavors were a bit more muted and subtle compared to a place like Loveletter. The wings however, MMM I really did enjoy their Buffalo wings! They had a good meatiness to them, and the sauce had that hot tangy flavor that I always desire from a Buffalo. All in all, I think their food is very solid. What pushes this to 5 stars to me is the service and the overall pleasantness of the staff working there. Great vibes, good food, what more can you ask for? read more
