I love Mr. Sandwich! Its the best sandwich in Orange County. I used to come here all the time when I lived in Irvine, but now that I live further, it is a bit of a trek to get here. I still try to come here anytime I'm in town. Location is convenient, right across the street from the District. Lines get pretty long around noon on weekdays but their service is great and really prompt! I never have to wait longer than 5 minutes even with a long line. I'm a big avocado fan, so getting a sandwich here is great. They always have fresh avocado that can be added to any sandwich. Also try the monster. its HUGE! The chicken salad sandwich is also great. Hands down my favorite sandwich chain. If you use the app to order from the Fountain Valley store, about 25% of the time they'll tell you that they can't access the order when you get there because the manager took the "Pad". Your credit card would have been charged and the app tells you when to pick up the order, but it won't be ready. It seems like such a lame excuse, but they explain it like that every time. If you order by phone around 12 noon, you'll have a 50/50 chance that they'll pick up the phone because they tend to be understaffed and very busy. If they answer and put you on hold, you've once again got a 50/50 chance they won't hang up on you. If your "lunch hour" is tight, go somewhere else. I told you it's a good sandwich place! read more

Oh my gosh! I just started working near here, and found this wonderful little sandwich shop. I had the italian cold cuts and it was delicious! The lady behind the counter was so friendly and they made my sandwich lickety split! If you are in the area, definitely stop in. We have to support small businesses. I love this place! It's right by my work so I go on days when I'm too lazy to go far. Their sandwiches are great, and I really love the soups! Tastes so simple and clean. They have great specials - you get your bang for your buck here. Also they are really friendly! This place is the epitome of a good family restaurant. If you want a good sandwich, at a good price, and with great service, this is the place to go. The sandwich shop is run by a husband and wife who are two of the most friendly people I have met. I would probably go here even if the food wasn't good. The sandwiches are so much better than Subway, Quiznos, etc., yet still competively priced against the sandwich chains. I haven't had everything from here, but the tuna, turkey and club are all very good. The ingredients are always fresh, and the service is always fast. I've been coming to this place for a little over a year. The staff is very friendly and the menu selection is great. You can mix and match and create anything you want. I've had a few different sandwiches and salads and have yet to be disappointed. Don't come here expecting the greatest sandwich you've ever had though. Turns out, they don't NEED a more clever name - their sandwiches are THAT good. Yep. They're delish. The menu is vast and has WAY too many choices for someone who is indecisive about food. It's a small sandwich shop in the plaza with Arby's and McDonald's (Jamboree and Barranca). I came here during my lunch break and ordered The Monster sandwich on Squaw bread ($6.99 .. $7.60 after tax) and it was pretty filling! Roast beef, turkey, ham, swiss cheese, tomato, onions, and avocado... what's not to love? :) I was content after just eating half and saved the other half for later. All the ingredients tasted really fresh and healthy. You can also let them know what you like and don't like so they can make the sandwich just the way you want it. Sure there are fast food restaurants nearby, but the healthy selections and TLC makes Mr. Sandwich an Irvine treasure. I would always pass this place up when I would grab some quick frozen, processed fast food, but after reading all the raving reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I was surprised to find the entire staff to be Asian, as I expected a "Joey Fatone" sorts of person running this sandwich joint. But that didn't change my perception especially because the staff were so friendly, so we ordered a Pastrami with avocado and a No.3 Club to-go. The sandwiches were decently piled on, but a little different from what I expected. I expected my sandwich on a wheat roll wrapped in paper, but the sandwich was made with regular, flat sandwich bread on a foam tray wrapped in plentiful plastic wrap. My first thought was that this wasn't very green, and well, going green is important to me. I forgot about all that as my hunger kicked in. I took a bite out of my No. 3 Club and although it was good, it wasn't that good. It was something that I could of easily constructed at home - just bread, turkey meat, avocado, mayo, lettuce, onion, and tomato - no special dressing or any unique touches. The Pastrami was the same - just pastrami and avocado. So although I was full and satisfied, I don't think I'll be coming back so often just because I'm able to make these sandwiches in my kitchen, unless I missed to order their specialty, in which if I did, someone please feel free to make a suggestion. read more

What a great find! Yelp did me a solid on this one. This great mom and pop shop is quick, friendly, and offers great portion sizes for the price. A half sandwich really was plenty of food. I tried the egg salad and chicken salad and definitely recommend the egg. The chicken salad was a bit sweet for my taste (it has apples, but there is something else that makes it sweet, too). Each sandwich comes with sliced red onion, tomato, pickle, and mayonnaise (lettuce and mustard available upon request). I was skeptical but the squaw bread was divine! The offer daily lunch specials, which come with a certain sandwich, chips, and a drink. I came at 2 p.m. on a Thursday and there was no wait. However, the place seats maybe 12 people, so I can see how it can get packed during lunch. Highly recommend! read more
