This review is for their tuna sandwich since that's all I've tried here. I'm sure their other sandwiches are great but the tuna was just okay. It was bland. I'll give them another try soon.

I was pretty hungry and was interested to try this spot after passing it a few times. Upon entering we were welcomed and gave a quick rundown of the menu. We decided to order two of"the monsters" with all the condiments and chips. The monster is a sandwich that has avocado, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss cheese. We ordered one on sour dough and one on French bread - unfortunately both came out on sour dough. The sandwich was ok but the ingredients didn't scream quality and the bread was generic bread. The meat was sparse for a $16 sandwich. It's a little of a disappointment since I feel like you go to a sandwich shop especially for them having quality bread whereas I feel like I could make this sandwich at home.

Once again a great experience. Didn't want to eat what I brought to work for lunch and was like "Where can I go and get something and not feel bleh the rest of the day after eating it? Oh yeah! Duh!" Got a turkey sandwich (full) a bag of chips and a drink, all for $15 which isn't that bad these days. Especially when the food is quality. The cashier was super nice and I appreciated her help cause I was all over the place trying to figure out which sandwich to get.

I don't understand the reviews but maybe I'm expecting something different?! This is an absolutely no frills, nothing special sandwich shop. Nothing tastes bad... but if you're looking for a delicious sandwich, any type of special topping or creativity, this is not the spot. I got a blt on sour dough and that is pretty much what I got... two pieces of UNTOASTED sour dough (doesn't taste like sour dough tho...), lettuce, tomato, bacon. No sauce of any kind (ie mayo, etc). And it cost me $9!!! I honestly feel like I could've made this at home and it would've looked and tasted better. Not coming again....

Ordered a breakfast plate and a brownie from uber eats. Everything on the plate was ice cold, the eggs had eggshells in them which was impressive since they tasted frozen, and the toast was stale :(

I was excited to give Mr Sandwich a try based on the rave reviews, and while I may have come in with too high of expectations, I still really did enjoy my sandwich and especially appreciated the friendly service. Mr Sandwich has a variety of hot and cold sandwiches so I opted for a "Turkey Avocado and Swiss Cheese" on sourdough bread ($12.69). If you're looking for a specialty sandwich shop, this may not be up your alley, but if you're in the mood for a tasty but simple, homemade sandwich, then look no further. While I wish there was a bit more meat than the two slices of turkey I received, I thought the sandwich was delicious, very fresh and I loved how soft the bread was. The price was a bit on the higher end for me as I was still hungry after I finished my sandwich, but I definitely enjoyed every bite of it! Service was also wonderful and I appreciated that "mom and pop" feel and love supporting local businesses. Mr Sandwich is in a small strip mall with a few other restaurants as well so parking was a bit tough but I was able to find a spot after a few circle-ings of the lot.

We ordered 10 different sandwiches from Mr. Sandwich for our office meeting today through an online delivery service. I got the tuna avocado with sprouts on squaw bread and it was great. They did a good job on the tuna salad and it wasn't drowned in mayo like most sandwich shops. The sandwich was huge. Half of their sandwich equals to almost a whole sandwich somewhere else. And the sprouts was super fresh. 5-star. One of the sandwiches was supposed to be meatballs with mushrooms. However, there were no mushrooms on the sandwich, just the meatballs. I called Mr. Sandwich directly to let them know. Told them I would take just the mushrooms to add to the sandwich but the owner told me they would make a fresh one for me. She was really nice about it. Came by at 1:00 pm to pick it up and the person that makes the sandwiches was very apologetic. He made a fresh one while I waited. Super kind. He also put plenty of mushrooms on the sandwich. I requested to keep the sauce on the side so the sandwich wouldn't be soggy and he did exactly as requested. Mushrooms were a bit salty but overall delicious. The only complaint I heard was the italian sausage sandwich had very little sausage. I believe they cut one sausage to 4 quarters. Since the bread was huge, not enough meat. Everyone else enjoyed their order. Highly recommend Mr. Sandwich. Prices a bit higher than most sandwich places but very good quality. And they do not skimp on protein. Their small chocolate chips cookies are also very fresh. I love cc cookies but very picky and won't eat them if they are a day old. Yes, I can tell. :) Love them here.

My first impression was, "Simple, quick and easy for lunch when you're short on time," I haven't posted a review on Yelp for a while but had to offset some of the negative recent reviews. Reviews truly make a difference for small businesses and this one's a local mom and pop shop. I randomly stopped by but was surprised by the size of the sandwich (it's a double sandwich) for the daily lunch special. I had the turkey provolone on squaw and it came with a drink and choice of chips for $14.99. The service was friendly and quick . Menu is straightforward and they had a variety of pastries and dessert to go. The lasting impression? "Not looking for a fancy sandwich but a great local stop for a quick and easy lunch that's light with no frills! Happy to support local, small businesses."

Serving ice cream now! And I think they have extended hours til 8pm and open Saturday too.

By far some of the best sandwiches I've ever had!! I've only had two off the menu, turkey lettuce tomato LOTS OF AVOCADO (which is absolutely incredible, they mix it with something that makes it mouthwatering), Swiss, onions, pickles, mustard on squaw..any sandwich you get is huge and so good!! Super affordable and I can't wait to come back to try all the other different kinds! read more

Great food, nice little mom & pop sandwich shop. Haven't found another local place that uses squaw bread (not even sure what it is, but it is tasty). Can get a bit hectic during the lunch hour but I always get my food in a timely manner and worth it for a good homemade style sandwich. Went here to pick up a quick lunch to-go for my boyfriend and myself. I got the turkey/avocado on squaw and he ordered the egg salad and cucumber on white. The lady at the front was really friendly and she was the only person working at this time. She took my order along with another gentlemen, and ran behind the counter to make all of the sandwiches! I thought it may take a while but she was quick and the sandwiches were great! They are very large and tasty. Around $15 for both, but we could only finish 1/2 and another 1/2 for lunch the next day too. I will eat here again. read more

I was really craving a turkey bacon avocado sandwich and once again this place comes up roses. Low and behold, the daily special was a turkey avocado sandwich and I just added bacon for a $1 extra. Now, the bacon wasn't put in the microwave, and reheated, it had to be pan fried and it was so good with the fresh turkey and avocado. The bacon was nicely cut into bit sized pieces. It was wonderfully crispy! I tasted bacon in every bite! A great lunch! read more

They're Asian! Of course customer service isn't their forte. Actually I found them nice and polite. I think the fast paced aspect is just how they are. Sandwiches are yummy! Really big and cheap for him much you pay. $6-7. You need definitely need to use two hands to eat it. Its a big girl sandwich. So big lots of it falls out and you still have a complete sandwich. Know what you want ahead of time, to lessen the confusion. They get orders out quick! read more

My first time here today. I had the BLAT on a french roll with extra mayo. This was a very good sandwich, with plenty of toppings (no pickles, of course), and plenty of meat. The french roll had a very good texture and consistency, and tasted very good too. The service was very good, and though there were quite a few people eating inside and out, and several people waiting for orders, all the orders were filled VERY quickly. This definitely a, "will go to again" place. They are well above average, but not outstanding. If I could, I would give them 4.5 stars. read more

My husband and I went to Mr. Sandwich in Irvine for lunch, we had never been there before and it was right at lunch time. It was Great! I had the Vegetarian C and it tasted good, but next time I will get some Pepperchini's or something spicy put on the sandwich. My husband got the Ham and Turkey with Avocado. They serve Large portions for a good price about 8.00 total. Huge! It is plenty. There name is perfect. I had just a regular sandwich but it was just that, a regular, delicious cold sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. We will definitely be back when we want a nice sandwich. It reminded me of the sandwiches that you would make at home. :) Great! read more

The sandwiches are good but not much better than any other sandwich shop. The potato salad is extremely good though! For $7 you get a sandwich on 2 slices of white bread. Most super markets have better deals, or just pack a sandwich. The people seemed nice and it was quick, but it's only a sandwich. The place is small and not a lot of seating. Not a bad experience, just don't think I'll be returning unfortunately. read more

I went to Mr. Sandwich today for the first time and I really liked it. Before I even finished picking out which bag of chips I wanted, my order was ready. Super fast, tasty turkey and avo sandwich, very clean, and excellent customer service. They even gave my 2 yr old daughter a free cookie=) Nice outdoor seating around the shop. Also, my husband has order catering from this place for some of his accounts and they always go above and beyond. Definitely recommended. read more

Co-worker took me here and ordered the Chicken Avocado. I got everything minus the Pickles on a french roll. It was really good to say the least. It did have small amounts of apple pieces in it...a good thing though, not overpowering. It was a HUGE sandwich though. I didn't know so I also ordered the Chicken Noodle soup...small cup but flavorful. No need for soup anymore since the sandwich is huge. Going to try the Monster next time. read more

I was in the Corporate Park area for business meeting and the host recommended Mr. Sandwich to me. He was spot-on, a very good sandwich for good price, and prepared pretty quickly during the lunchtime rush. I think I had the club with avocado on a french roll. The roll seemed to have been naked that day. In fact, everything was very fresh and tasted high-quality. I am not giving it 5-stars because the location is not pretty - it looks at a parking lot and a Chevron gas station, and the inside is nothing special. But other than that minor quibble, this is a great place for a quick lunch, lot's of things to choose from. Enjoy. read more

Lots of sandwich shops out there, but Mr. Sandwich still the best! Tuna Avocado, Pastrami w/mushrooms, Roast Beef or even the Egg salad are my favorites. I have never had anything here that wasn't delicious. If you are not feeling like a sandwich, there are also some excellent choices (and reasonable) prices for salads and soups! read more

This is a pretty small place but I packs a great punch. The sandwiches here are absolutely delicious I recommend the avocado, bacon and Swiss on squaw. It's great for lunch or to-go and the sandwiches are pretty big so you can save the other half for later. read more

Had Mr. Sandwich today after reading many good reviews about this place. The owners are extremely friendly and are very welcoming to their customers. Today my family and I had a Pastrami, Roast Beef, and Turkey sandwich and all of them were excellent and fresh! The vegetable soup was also fresh because you can even taste the slight crunch in the vegetables. My son even scored a free cookie! We'll definitely be coming back to enjoy the rest of their menu soon. I highly recommend this place if you want a delicious simple lunch. read more

Best place to grab a good sandwich if you work in the area. I am going to miss this place as the location of my work has recently changed. My go to is a chicken salad sandwich on squaw. So hard to find places that have squaw, their chicken salad has apples and celery and onion and good sized chunks of chicken. Also has pickles and avocado and I add sprouts. Whole sandwich runs $9 but feeds me for 2 meals as each half is sizeable. Will def. Try to get down there for a lunch on the weekends as it is such a tasty sandwich. Ordering online is super easy and the staff is really friendly read more

I am not a vegetarian, but the Veggie sandwich at Mr. Sandwich is so delicious and very satisfying, I wouldn't mind to become a vegan if all veggie meals taste this good. The sandwich is piled high with fresh lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pickles, cheese, alfalfa, and mushrooms, in a thick avocado paste, on squaw bread. It is not on the regular menu for some reason, but you could order it just the same. The soups there is also very good. One Veggie sandwich and two cups of soup make a wonderful lunch for two. This place has the best sandwhiches around. Their ingredients are fresh, the service is fast and they use high quality ingredients. I love their Chicken salad, their Tuna, their Monser, their Turkey and Avocado. You must try their pastrami. The owner hand trims it every morning. Good Mom and Pop Sandwich Shop!!! In a world full of Subways its refreshing to see good privately owned sandwiches shops exist. I have gotten their lunch special several times and been very satisfied with the food I have order. I suggest walking but if you have to drive parking is OK, just watch-out for the office donkeys! read more

Something was truly wrong with the brussel sprouts. It wasn't fresh. I'm sure they overdid the balsamic to cover this up. It was also muggy inside with flies flying everywhere. It was hard to enjoy eating while sweating on the velvet furniture. We also tried the chocolate chip cookie and the maple oatmeal sandwich cookie. I wouldn't get either again. I don't know if I'll come back anytime soon but perhaps will give this place another try someday.

The Matcha with Cream Top was also incredible. The first sip was so thick and creamy that I barely got any matcha which is honestly a good sign. They stick to a more traditional approach and don't add sweetener unless you ask for it. Lastly, the pourovers. Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. Last note: they have their system down to a tee. The wait in line may be long but once you order it's super quick to receive your order.

I most recently visited their Irvine location and on this busy evening, I ordered their Strawberry Bingsoo. After about a 15+ min wait, my buzzer rang, and I picked it up at the counter. Fortunately a table had just opened up. Otherwise there are tables outside their shop as well. Once again their Bingsoo was more crunchy than smooth and velvety in my mouth. There were strawberry slices on top with a few mochi pieces, and a little condensed milk drizzle on top. The middle and bottom layers were just crunchy ice. This was also gravely disappointing. Parking on weekend evenings look to be challenging as it was for me.

I was seriously in the mood for a good, old-fashioned sandwich from a small, family-run place, and Mr. Sandwich was exactly what I was hoping for. The fact that it's right next to Janny's Donuts? Total bonus--who doesn't love a donut after a sandwich? I couldn't decide on just one, so I ended up ordering two sandwiches: a chicken salad on a French roll and a turkey bacon avocado on toasted sourdough. Both were absolutely spot-on. The chicken salad was creamy without being heavy, and the French roll was fresh and soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The turkey bacon avocado on sourdough was equally fantastic--the bacon was crispy, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the sourdough had just the right amount of crunch from being toasted. Every bite was like a little piece of sandwich heaven, and I left feeling full and totally satisfied. The service was another highlight. The woman who took my order was super friendly and made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time there. It's the kind of personal touch you rarely find in big chains, and it really made the experience that much better. The menu is packed with options--almost too many, in a good way! Whether you're craving something classic or feeling adventurous, they've got you covered. Everything tasted so fresh, like they just got the ingredients that morning. As I was eating, I couldn't help but think, 'Why can't I make a sandwich taste this good at home?' Whatever their secret is, it brought me right back to my childhood, to those amazing sandwiches my mom and my friends' moms used to make. It's that kind of nostalgic, comforting flavor you can't recreate no matter how hard you try. After this, I know I'll be coming back to Mr. Sandwich a lot more often. I would rate Mr. Sandwich a half-step up over the major sandwich/sub chains in quality but it's my most reliable stand-by in terms of producing a decent lunch that I can get around the corner from where I work. When I stop in, it's usually on my way back from a meeting.There is a decent selection of meat and veggie orders to choose from. Your best value is the daily special, which is posted on a little sign next to the register. Ingredients are a tad fresher and the service is a tad nicer than in the national chains. I usually order something on French bread (meatball or chicken salad) and the ingredients commonly overflow out of the bread ... I've been known to start off using a fork. Also, it takes just a few minutes to get your order. Notes:(1) Inside is tiny, just a few tables. There are also tables outside on the walkway but they are just a few feet from parked cars. I order to-go every time (ambience is unexciting).(2) Because there are three fast-food restaurants sharing the same little shopping center, the parking is majorly congested during the weekday lunch rush. Expect to spend time circulating if you arrive between noon and 12:45.(3) Daily special = $8.50 = sandwich + bag of chips (Frito-Lay brand) + regular fountain drink. read more
