I am super shocked at how affordable bubble tea here is and that there is four different sizes of drinks compared to the average 2 (regular and large) in New York. The food and snacks here are bomb, the drinks are okay. I would definitely be down to come back for the snacks. We got the cheese sticks, popcorn chicken, and the potato twist with lemon pepper. The popcorn chicken was really good. It's not like other places that put waaaaay too much breading on the chicken, there's actually lots of meat. The cheese sticks were good and had lots of cheese, and the potato twist was bomb with the lemon pepper seasoning. It was nice and crispy. :) I got a coconut slush... it had a great flavor but it was extremely icy.. I had to keep stirring it but it wouldn't really blend together. I'd end up with the melted slush to drink which would lead to big icy blocks that wasn't really drinkable. It wasn't smooth. I come literally just because of the rice noodles (changfen) because they make it like the street vendors back home. Prices are decent and the milktea is good too! They have a lot of bang for their buck with the larger drink sizes. No restroom, so plan for that when you order a jumbo size milktea. Parking is rough but I can generally find a spot on the weekends in the early afternoon. Sunday is best since parking meters are free. Other things... Potato twists are ok. Chicken nugget have too much breading. Service can get backed up as people order a lot per order. It's a small place so hard to find room to sit down. There are maybe 11 seats total. Been trying to stop my craving for milk tea but I realized I can't so I caved in. Called thirty minutes before walking in since it's Christmas Day so I rushed here last minute with a friend just to get boba. By the time I got there it was five minutes before closing but the employees that worked there(I think they previously worked at five degree) were super nice and patient to take out order! So sad they ran out of boba tho but it's okay. I been seeing the split cup trend lately at boba shops and I'm glad Mr T was the first to have it in San Francisco. The split cup drink was $5 but keep in mind it's a very big cup so definitely worth the money depending on the right flavor you pick. I got the rose black milk tea with aloe and the lychee black flavored tea with aloe as well. They also have a lot of different flavored egg puffs so when I saw purple tam with egg puffs, I could not say no. The total was about $12 which isn't bad for upgraded dessert. The employees were also nice enough to let us stay inside till we finished our egg puffs instead of telling us to leave due to their closing time. Its a small mountain of soft serve ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup, two chocolate covered pocky sticks, two oreo cookies, sliced strawberry and banana, AND a bit of watermelon, all within this amazing egg puff waffle cone and on the bottom of the cup are friggin' cornflakes tossed with whipped cream and more chocolate syrup... only for $6.50. When the nice girl at the counter handed it to me I was so baffled I almost dropped the damn thing and then I had to walk home 3 blocks with people looking at me like I was a clown holding this big-ass cup of dessert. But seriously this was a straight up work of art and now I crave one every other day but will limit myself to maybe once a week if I'm good. Along with that monstrosity, everything else here is also really great. It reminds me of a homier Lollicup with the fried popcorn chicken and potato twists (also huge) and slushs/milk and boba teas. I've never seen potato twisters outside of YouTube, and because fries are my favorite food, I was willing to walk the mile it took me to find parking to come here (no kidding though, parking is really hard to find in that area and in the surrounding neighborhood). The bus stop is right in front of the store, so it's a little noisy if you're trying to work (on their free WiFi) but convenient otherwise. What really makes Mr. T shine is the snacks not found elsewhere and the quality of them, especially for the price. Any store that's willing to step outside of the usual and innovate gets a plus from me! Also, they're open early because they serve breakfast in the form of rice noodle rolls. They accept credit card with no minimum, so another plus. If you're looking for sago, mango pudding, and those types of Chinese desserts, you will not find them here. Go to rainbow t down on Ocean ave. If you want snacks you won't find in the typical places like Kowloon Tong and Golden Island, step right on over. Aside from the twisters, they also have semi-customizable brick toast (you can choose from a few flavors), egg puffs (original, filled "molten" with chocolate etc, and with ice cream as many other Yelpers have mentioned), honey crisp toast (small filled toasts), and popcorn chicken. The best part is that most of the snacks come in different flavors, and though they don't state it, are customizable. They tend to go heavy on the salt for twisters, so make sure to tell the (fluent, polite) person working at the counter to make it less salty. Everything I've tried from their menu has been delicious! The people working there are really nice. They will apologize for getting your order to you slow even if you've barely been waiting. That being said, the service is quite fast, so if you're parked at a meter, you can probably get in and out within 15 minutes. I got the roasted milk tea, which is an oolong tea. I like that they don't make the tea super sweet. Flavor is decent, but tea flavor could be stronger. Boba texture has a nice chew to it, not overcooked or hard. Egg pudding is good. However, the grass jelly was disgustingly bitter, I'm not sure if it was a dud or if it's how it's supposed to taste. I've never had grass jelly that tasted like that. The interior is super clean and cute, an unexpected contrast to the ghetto-ness of the street outside. They have such a wide selection of things to try. I was really excited to see the egg puff ice cream being sold here since I thought the only place that did it was a New York shop. We chose the banana flavor which came with one scoop of soft serve, one scoop of strawberry ice cream, one original egg puff as the "cone", slices of banana, two pocky sticks, and some whip cream. It was a lot of sugar, so expect that. Might be good to share among like four people since we shared it among two and it was a sugar overload. We also got the Mr milk green tea with boba, almond milk tea with boba and grass jelly, and matcha milk tea with boba. They let you choose up to three toppings for no additional charge. Decent tea. A bit too sweet but probably because we had them following the ice cream. The boba was a good consistency and the tea was flavorful. I would probably try a non-milk tea next time and some of their savory snacks like popcorn chicken and minced pork rice. I think they have potential. Hopefully the bus stop in front of their shop helps garner some attention for them. It might be a good idea to get some more modern top 20 music playing, too, just to attract the younger crowds. My friend and I ordered our drinks 25 minutes prior to when we decided to just leave. They didn't have the Grubhub system and didn't see our drink orders. When we were able to show them our order that was placed on our phone, they said the drinks were now a different price and demanded we paid them more money for drinks we've already paid for. Good, roasted milk tea. Asked them for 80/20 sweet and it's the way I like it: not overly sweet and you can taste the roasted oolong. Boba is soft and chewy so you're not spending a lot of time chewing. I also ordered their "molten chocoalte M puff", which is their chocolate-filled eggettes (or egg puff). While the eggette is good and unique, and I want to like it, but their chocolate filling is inconsistent with each individual egg puff--some have it others don't, some have a lot, others have little--which makes the price of the "M puff" expensive ($5-something). Hopefully they'll be more consistent with their filling. But right now it's just a if-I-feel-like-it-and- it's-on-my-way pick up boba. read more

(Medium looks like a large in other places.) It has many varieties of drink choices and food items. My favorite snack to get is the popcorn chicken and their takoyaki. Popcorn chicken is fresh, crispy and flavorful! (I've been to boba places where you can tell they just re-fried the chicken) I also love Mr. T's takoyaki. Its only 3 pieces when you order but tastes really good for a small boba place like this.
