9" Italian
Jenai E.

Looks like an old mini mart with blacked out windows. You can't really tell what you're walking into. Lots of sandwich options, I'd love to come back and try some different items. My friend and I shared the Italian sub. It was just OK. The bread tasted fresh and was soft and chewy. The meats really didn't have any flavor to me. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. My kids had a turkey club and BLT and they really enjoyed their sandwiches and ate them up. There were only two tables with a couple chairs inside. We ate outside on the side patio. Not much for ambiance but the patio tables were clean and did the job.

Al I have to say about this place is WOW! The sandwiches are huge! And everything tastes so fresh! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! If I'm ever visiting Tacoma again this will be a must visit place. Super friendly staff and the place looks very clean and has allot of sitting. This place has a very good homie neighborhood vibe if that makes sense.

Line was super long, no one picked up the phone so we assumed it was busy! (45 minute wait for sandwiches.) You would not expect much from the outside but the sandwiches are great! There's a reason they're so busy. There's a bigger room in the back with tables where you can eat.

Seriously, the best deli sandwiches I've ever had in my whole entire life. The customer services A1 this place has been around for at least 30 years that I'm aware of the service is great and the ambience is great. The staff behind the counter works very hard and diligent in getting your order correct they use the best ingredients in house. Everything is cut. It is amazing. I mean it's 20 bucks for a sandwich but it's definitely worth it and I got two meals out of my sandwich. It's conveniently located right off of sixth Avenue easy to find and has a large ample parking area. If you don't go here you're crazy.

This is the kind of sandwich I dream about. If your a guy who gets a 12 inch at a sub chain you only want about a medium here. I ordered a large and ate until I was stuffed and still had half a sub. Prices are good, and they have a good selection of chips and soda, not just your standard 3 flavors like most chains..I want to give an extra shout out to the thick slices of gabbagoul . YUM! Be warned there is often a 30 to 60 minute wait during the peak hours... Trust me it's worth the wait. Just call and order your sub ahead of time if you don't want to wait.

Deli Club

Had an EXCELLENT experience here. I asked what was popular and was told the Deli Club or Mikes Deluxe. The Club was the employees favorite for the crunchy bacon and avocado. So I went with the Deli Club. Girls love them some avocado. $18.99 for a $13 inch sub seemed a little high priced until I saw the sandwich. Like they really mean 13"!!!! It was wrapped in butcher paper because this Sammie is so massive. It easily could feed 2 people, one of them having a large appetite! Every bite was delicious, not dry corners of bread on the edges at all. And somehow they've mastered that with each bite you take the filling actually doesn't slide out. It's freaking tasty magic!! The avocado spread must have been a tiny bit salted because best avocado I've had in a while!! Yes I noticed. I was glad I got the club because the REAL triple bacon crunch paired with the avocado and turkey was phenomenal. I even thought the shredded type lettuce worked well in this sub. And no soggy tomato slices! The Sammie was a 10/10. I only wished I lived closer so I could get a reasonably priced lunch or dinner anytime from here. Man how do the employees stop themselves from eating here all the time? I wouldn't be able to. Do yourself a favor and stop in sometime. Heck the beverage selection will even blow you away.

Easy ordering

Wanted a good Deli sandwich for awhile and MSM was the recommended place to go. It was just as I expected. A good Deli, the service was awesome and the young lady who helped made it easy to find good selection. Hey it's a Deli and has that Deli atmosphere. You can tell it's a good place because the to go orders were consistently being called in and the foot traffic was just as busy. If people are willing to wait 24-30min for a sandwich then it has to be good. It is very good and worth the visit and wait. So go order and enjoy.

Excellent sandwich spot. Stumbled into this very unassuming deli/market during the art walk. I read excellent reviews and my bff said it's very good. It's a simple deli with your traditional sandwich options (although I eyeballed a Cubano on the menu). I ordered the turkey club, 9" which was incredibly generous! This was very good and satisfied a sandwich craving I had.

One of the best sandwich spots in Washington--maybe even the entire PNW! I've known about MSM for a while, and I finally made the stop... and WOW, I'm so glad I did! This place is everything a sandwich shop should be, fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth the hype. I went with the Mike's Deluxe, thanks to a friend's recommendation, and let me tell you, it was next-level amazing. Every bite was packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can just taste the care that goes into making each sandwich. Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. The staff was super kind and welcoming, and even though the shop was packed, they kept things moving efficiently. Heads up: This place is wildly popular, so if you don't order ahead, be ready for a bit of a wait. I arrived around 2:45 PM and waited 25 minutes, but honestly? Totally worth it. If you love sandwiches, MSM is a must-visit. Don't walk, RUN to this gem!

My cuban, get your own.

After seeing the reviews and comments, I had to try this place. We dropped off the kid and my wife and I headed to this sandwich haven. I love a good cuban sandwich, but it has to be a real cuban sandwich. Good roll pressed yep Slow cooked pork yes Ham nice quantity Dill pickles & Yellow mustard absolutely necessary and don't give me the seeded or Grey poupon...it doesn't have the right flavor. Don't try fancy pickles...it doesn't work. Swiss cheese check No mayo. Get that away from my sandwich. From the 1st bite, I was hooked. I love the amazing umami flavors or the rich slow roasted pork mixed with the perfectly salted ham. Then comes in those tart flavors of the pickles and mustard, it start to hit all my favorite flavors in something that never made sense in my mind, but blows away with how it works. The swiss cheese balances things perfectly. I just love a real cuban sandwich. I can't even remember or care what else was ordered...it just doesn't matter.

Can you use an EBT Card to purchase sandwiches that are made at the the deli?

Usually you cannot use food stamps at restaurants

Whats up with the gyros? Everytime I've gone they haven't had any.

Must've ran out.

How do I get food delivered?

I don't think delivery is an option as of yet! I wish!

What is there phone number to order? The number listed is disconnected

(253)272-4814

Do they do offer a bread free option? Like lettuce wrap or in a bowl/on a plate?

You can do any sandwich as a salad. But no lettuce wrap

Does anyone know if any of there bread is vegan?

Bump.

How is the catch of the day?

My brother loves it and orders it every time we go to MSM. The ingredients kind of sound like a strange combination, but it's crazy how well it all comes together. He skips the tomatoes, but I always bug him for a bite or two. I'll take a picture…

The menu also shows sandwiches, soups and warm bowls. I don't know the area well but surprised they didn't have more people in during the lunch hour. My only negative is they don't seem to realize when customers enter as they are not greeted and can take several minutes before someone comes up front and realizes a customer or food delivery pick up is waiting. My boyfriend got their garden wrap with a garlic and herb tortilla while I got their Washington Apple wrap with a garlic and herb tortilla. There was an order ahead of us but the employees got the orders made in a good amount of time and presentation was a nice touch too. The wraps had a great ratio of all the listed ingredients and you can yaste everything in each bite. The ingredients tasted and looked fresh! The interior is very cozy with plenty of seating that accommodates solo, couples or small groups. They have great lighting in there, both natural and inside. They had some old school RnB playing which was nostalgic for me as I heard a lot of these as a pre-teen. Definitely a fantastic spot, especially if you are trying to eat or be more healthy conscious but still have a flavorful meal!

Ordered the lamb shawarma and pelmeni at the counter on the way in. The shawarma is wrapped in lavash which is actually brilliant and it was delightfully flaky and crispy. The filling itself was delicious, tender lamb and pungently garlicky sauce--just what a rich meat needs to cut the flavor. The pelmeni comes with a side of sour cream, and I have to say that the flavor was not anything remarkable, and really depended on the sour cream to give it that boost. Figured out afterwards that this restaurant is attached to the neighboring spa, which is a no-frills Slavic-style facility from which patrons can order food during their spa day. The two establishments also share the adjoining billiards/rec room. Now for the reason one star was taken off: while the eating area is well-kept, the bathroom which is accessible through the billiards room was long-neglected, the trash can overflowing and the toilet paper missing--I had to poke around in the cabinet to find a new roll. They say a restaurant is only as clean as its bathroom, and I think you can say the same thing for a spa.

I can say that they have some of the freshest ingredients to build a salad and the options are numerous in your choices to build a salad. I decided to add tuna to my salad. I thought this would be a great touch to such a fresh salad. The Caesar dressing was good and went well with the salad. The most disturbing part of this salad was the tuna. As it turns out, the tuna is canned with a strong fishy smell and flavor. I had assumed that the tuna with be cubed or sliced. This is a great place for vegans and vegetarians as well. Now, the fishy taste of the tuna was so string that I immediately brushed my teeth to get the taste out of my mouth. Please keep in mind that these salads start at $12-15 dollars plus the add-ons you like. Since I love salads, I had many extras and the salad was $26.
