It was a good sandwich, got the club. My friend got the BBQ beef he loved it. We got the "hoagie" style bread that comes with it. Today when we went it was not dry like previous people listed. Its inside a corner store which I wasnt expecting. There was no line on a Friday at 2 pm. This was a good sandwich but it was not magical. Go here and get the Mike's Deluxe. For only $6.50, you get a huge sandwich that will make you forget about whatever Subway or Quizno is trying to peddle to you for $5. The wait can be long so call ahead and place your order. You still have to wait in line to pickup/pay but it'll save you some time. They have a room in the back so you can eat on site and being a convenience store with a liquor license, you can enjoy your Mike's with a cold beer. Parking can be a challenge so come around 11am or go after the 12pm lunch rush and you'll be fine. And if you're going during your work lunch break, don't expect to get much done afterwards as you'll likely suffer from a food coma. read more

I'm a sucker for joints like this and MSM does not fail to live up. I've had the Mike's deluxe twice and was thoroughly satisfied each time. I describe these types of Sandwiches as "East Coast" but can't specify exactly why. There is an understanding of the need to properly balance textures/flavors meat, cheese, and bread, and the good sandwich shops just get it. The place is set up like a convenience store although there are some tables in the back. I think your best move is just call in your order and get the food to go. MSM, aka the Magic Sandwich Makers, is a hidden gem that all Tacoma locals swear by. Don't be fooled by the Quickie Mart exterior. The meats are fresh and the French bread is the perfect compliment. I order the Mike's Deluxe, which is a deli club on a French roll. The sandwiches are large, so be prepared to eat it in two separate meals. I would recommend calling first as the line does get really long during lunch time. I believe the menu is on Urban Spoon, but I couldn't quite find it when I last searched. And they have a great variety of local, national, and international beers. If you are ever traveling to Tacoma or heading towards Portland, it's definitely worth a pit stop. read more

I used to live right by MSM, and I've had a variety of experiences. Overall though, 4 stars. I've tried calling ahead, and that definitely cuts down on the wait time, but generally, my order gets mangled over the phone. (In their defense, I have a very shitty cell phone.) Great sandwiches! Large portions and tasty from beginning to end. There is no such thing as a "value meal" here, but since it's located in a convenience store, it also means that your selection of drinks and chips is WAY better than Subway. So you can grab a great sandwich a beer and Snickers bar for dessert if you want. There's a lot to be said for that. The only reason they don't get a fifth star is because their seating area is fairly run down. But really, you are eating in a convenience store, not a restaurant, so I can't complain too much. Another find thanks to the local Yelpers! This was a very good deli. I had the tuna sandwich on sour dough. They have a name for it but I don't recall it. It was very good. The establishment itself is kind of a hole in the wall but a lot of good food comes out of holes in the wall. lol It was fairly busy but they were able to keep up no problem. There is a seating area in the front near a small grocery area, but the main seating area is in the back where there is plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal. The staff was very nice. If in the area I would eat here again. read more

Would give it a five but the lack of pep in those who make the sandwiches docked them a star but damn they make a good sandwich for a reasonable price also. I have been here in WA for 10 years and have yet to find a good sandwich deli that even comes close. This place is it! The best sandwich I have eaten in WA in 10 years!
