No Good! What used to be a 5-star diner has slowly become a No-Star diner. For years we would travel from our home in Ossining to Mount Kisco, as this diner was always our favorite. For us, the decline first began with the surly attitude of the owner's son and daughter to their customers. Although uncalled for, that wasn't much of an issue as everything else was still good. Not long ago, we thought we'd have dinner at the MK Diner rather than overspending at some overpriced restaurant. Boy, were we in for a surprise. When the bill came, we were shocked to see that for the same money we could have eaten at a restaurant that offered better quality and service. The last straw for us came this morning, when we thought we'd come to the MK Diner for breakfast. After being seated, we saw the table had hardly been cleaned so we switched to another. Once seated there, the table was somewhat cleaner but the silverware was unclean. Next was the service. It took longer than usual to get our server. (All of the servers in the diner were apathetic.) Looking around, we noticed ripped banquettes and other dirty tables. When the food came out, the scrambled eggs my wife ordered with her bagel sandwich were powdered. $7.50 for powdered eggs. The whole wheat pancakes I ordered were as dry as a desert. And the coffee was old sludge. Sad to say, this will be our last visit to Mt. Kisco Diner. read more

Breakfast with the kids (well some of them) for my first time here. If the menu is any indicator, this is a step or two above your run of the (saw) mill diner. Some hard choices had to be made but in the end, I opted for one of their unique pancake dishes, Chunky Monkey (pancakes with bananas, nuts and a Nutella drizzle). Just yummy. By the time I was done looking at their menu filled with a wide range of delicious food, I was starving. The boyfriend and I both wanted to order EVERYTHING on the menu just to try. It was a hard choice but we narrowed it down to the Next Level Wrap and the Pancakes with M&M minis. The Next Level Wrap wasn't as spicy as I had expected since it was filled with mac and cheese. But the mac and cheese were still very tasty. I loved it! The pancakes with M&M's were delicious. I ate it without the syrup just because the M&M's are also in the pancake and it would've been too sweet for me. I've been to this spot twice now. The first time it was insanely packed because it was a Monday holiday regardless they were moving & sitting pretty quickly. We only waited for about 12-15 mins. The place is decent sized, everything moves quickly including the cleaning. They servers are all dressed very nicely, long sleeve, ties etc. Both times they took our orders pretty quickly and the food came out quick & Well made. We stopped by for a late breakfast and ordered a combo breakfast (eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, French toast, and pancakes). it was a lot of food and the portions were large, but it was also expensive, but you get what you pay for, I didn't have an issue with the price. The food was ok, but nothing out of the norm. sausage, ham, and bacon was good, pancakes were below average, and French toast was average. The service was terrible! Asked for scrambled, they came over easy. Waitress never came back so I just ate them so the food didn't get cold. The only other time she came back was when we were able to wave her down, which was no easy feat! The place was not busy by any means, she just wasn't a good waitress. This place was horrible. There was a crazy wait on a Tuesday afternoon (it moved pretty fast), which led my party and I to believe it was worth the wait. Boy were we wrong. The service was appalling, the waitress seemed to be in such a rush she literally could not be bothered with our food inquiries. We asked for a few minutes to gather our choices, in response to our request we got 25 damn minutes. At this point we were just trying to get someone, anyone, to take our order. The food took forever to hit the table, and when it did it did so in waves. We each got our meals at completely separate times with large gaps of time in between. The overall sad part was that the food sucked. Saw this diner had a decent following and profile on Instagram so we decided to check it out. As soon as we walked in, the hostess was in the middle of a conversation and didn't acknowledge us. She glanced at us but continued her conversation for another minute before showing us to our table. The service was fine when we first ordered but after our food was finished, the waiters actively walked by our table without stopping to offer dessert or our check. The food was average but in my opinion, not worth the price for the amount of food you get (The Cheesecake Factory has much larger plates for similar prices.) We ordered a slice of chocolate cake for dessert after managing to flag down a waiter after being ignored for 40 minutes. The cake was bland and dry, just like their service. After our dessert was finished, we waited again for our check but the waiter was nowhere to be seen. We walked to the counter where the hostess was in another conversation with somebody else and ignored us once again. If you're the face and the host of the restaurant, at least do the minimum and acknowledge that we're there. This place was overhyped and ultimately a huge letdown. There are plenty of better diners without snooty hostesses and bad waiters in Westchester. read more

We came out of our way from Stamford for brunch here today. The patio area is really nice and there's a ton of seating so no wait on a 80 degree day. We asked for something not on the menu (Chicken and Waffles) and they made it for us so that was awesome! My huevos rancheros were pretty good too. Service was good. I definitely recommend that if you're looking for something filling with a great crunch from chicken cutlet and gooey cheesy mac and cheese! When I walked into the diner I couldn't even tell it was a diner. Such class and comfort without the retro style. The food was very unique. Something you couldn't find anywhere else. The menu even had a section for Instagram worthy dishes. I got the truffle fries with a fruity pebble small milkshake. My friend got the vodka sauce fried with a mega candy land milkshake. Both fries were absolutely amazing. Both of our milkshakes were so good. You have to be in the mood with a huge sweet tooth. My milkshake was obviously made second to my friends, for mine was not as cold and my whip cream was falling off. Even with just two milkshakes and fries our food took at least 30 minutes. We enjoyed our time and indulged in our food. We had 5 people check to see if we were done. All 5 times we asked for the check. After waiting 30 minutes of waiting for the check I finally went up to the front where they found out the waitress never put in our order. During the pandemic I placed a curbside pickup order and the person who brought it out made some creepy, borderline sexual comments. I stayed away for the next 6 months, but the other day I was craving soup so I placed an order for 2 large soups (and hoped someone different would bring it out). They told me 10 minutes. When I got to the parking lot 8 minutes later I called to let them know I was there and was told the order would be right out.
