We were greeted at the entrance and decided to eat inside, the decor was eclectic but mostly nautical / beach / fishing. Were seated and server came quickly. Decided to get an appetizer while deciding on entree. We ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. It was pretty good and a huge serving, maybe enough for 5-6 people. I ordered the Delmonico steak, with a side salad. The steak comes with potato and mixed vegetables. Salad was nice. Steak came and was definitely at least 12 oz if not more. We enjoy Muddy Waters and have been coming here for years. We get reward points too and are pleasantly surprised when we're told "$20.00 off today's tab". It's pretty much the only constant where you can get raw oysters at a reasonable rate and year round too, (we are more selective in the summer months tho). Some pluses are: 1st Saturday of every month they have an outdoor char-smoker that produces some of the best ribs, chicken & pork ever! My husband recently got the smoked chicken wings and he really enjoyed them. In addition, there is always a daily menu/drink special AND, well-behaved dogs like our Seamus are permitted in the generous outdoor dining area. Love a place that loves dogs! Ordered the chicken and came out wrong. The bartender John Wayne JW was horrible with an attitude. I said to him it's wrong and he wanted to take the entire salad and I said just make a piece of chicken. He did and when he gave it to me he said here are you happy now and started getting loud like he wanted to get physical. I said to back off and he repeated ok boss 6 times like a 2 year old. Food took a long time but the quality was good. Watch this John Wayne JW if you go there he is going to explode one day. We were happy to be able to go to dinner tonight as hurricane Ian is still pounding Florida after making landfall on the west coast this afternoon. We walked up to the hostess stand and I noticed grilled oysters (my favorite) on the specials board. They seated us indoors at our request as outdoors was still warm. The outdoor seating looks very nice and is under cover out front with plants and fun nautical decor. Inside is a bit dark until your eyes get adjusted. The decor is dark wood and there are tv screens with aquarium fishes all around along with sports playing overhead..a bar like atmosphere with a nautical theme. Our server was pleasant and took our orders, also explaining how the oysters were prepared when i asked. We ordered buffalo style chicken wings, fries and the grilled oysters. It took a little while to get served and i did ask if the oysters could be grilled with a little more brown on top, which they did. If you haven't tried them, they were topped with garlic and parmesan cheese, delish. All in all the meal was very good. Extra points for offering grilled oysters and for the good wings which are hard to find. Parking was easy in the lot...we arrived early, around 6pm and the crowd continued to grow. Easter Sunday and we were looking for a casual seafood place that you didn't need reservations for. It was our first time here. A sports bar, with some decent food and a great Key West vibe. Walking in from the parking lot you think it's just another sports bar but as soon as you step up onto the patio, you feel like you're in a tropical oasis. I read the reviews and saw the the food was solid, but like most restaurants these days, they were short staffed. I was prepared to wait and never had to. Outside patio was crowded, but the hostess was able to get us a nice table and our server was right there with menus. Our food came quickly and our server was friendly. They pour a strong drink , so be prepared! Conch Chowder was ok, I've had better. The oysters were fresh, very big and very good. So good we ordered and extra dozen. We chose to eat inside and our server Terry was awesome. In fact we came back again today and it was not as good the service without him. Getting back to my visit on 5-27-23 we started with cold peel and eat shrimp. Served with plenty of cocktail sauce. They have a special on Saturday's and the shrimp are just a buck a piece. Next I had the Buffalo chicken salad. The chicken definitely had a kick and the salad fixings well for get about it you can't even make a dent. My visit today I had the Fish Dip but both my friend and I were disappointed to learn after it was served no flatbread crackers as stated on the menu. Instead it came with multi colored tortilla chips. Had I known upfront I would have ordered something else. When you go here you can sit outside or inside. My suggestion to you if going inside sit on the left hand side of the restaurant so you can hear yourself talk to others. We love this hidden gem. I can't believe we never tried it until recently, however the restaurant has been here for over 20 years. This is Gulf coast food. The seafood is amazing. The homemade jambalaya was amazing along with the poboys. The service was impeccable. The bar made me a Hurricane to drink that was spot on. I had been to MW a month ago and all food and service was excellent including key lime pie. Today I took a friend who had never been there. After we were seated we were forgotten. I had to get up and ask for menus and to have someone let a waitress know we were there. After ordering it took way too long for food to arrive. I asked for a manager and she said they were understaffed. Our lunches arrived after a long wait, we were ready to walk out. Sandwiches were fine. We Ordered and split key lime pie it was not the same pie they had a month ago in presentation or flavor which was like a vanilla pie no key lime flavor. We asked if maybe they got pies mixed up and they said no. We asked to have it removed from the bill we were told we ate part of it. I will not go back or recommend MW if you want consistency in delivered product. Our waitress was pleasant I think the issues were in the kitchen staff. This hidden gem is nestled in the center of a random shopping plaza. We didn't expect it to be so awesome! The pirate and fishing decor was A+ The food was delicious! Raw oysters were the cheapest in the entire area at just $1.25 each. We tried a handful of other appetizers including the lobster bisque, smoked fish dip, mussels, and wings. All were very good. For the wings we tried mango mixed with buffalo to give it some spice. For a main entree, we absolutely loved the Rasta pasta! It was a Cajun Alfredo pasta with chicken, shrimp, peppers, and onions. I would order this every time we come back! Only reason for 4 stars is due to service being a little slow. However, the food really does make up for it! I went on a busy St. Patrick's day it was PACKED. The wait time actually went by pretty fast and the staff though busy was accommodating. I tried in the theme of the day decided to do a Sauza Margarita (Green Of course). It was definitely not good. I was disappointed. I had to add strawberry flavoring to drink it. As a self proclaimed Margarita Mami I wasnt thrilled. In hopes the food was better. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which was pretty okay. The food was hot and came out in a timely manner considering the crowd. From the looks of the place and the theme I felt a New Orleans like them. The food included alot of New Orleans style dishes. If you're looking for a bar scene this is your spot. I tend to like the old school south Florida motif. Place is always slammed. We had the muscles, clam chowder, and steamed clams. The muscles were on the dry side, like they had been sitting in the pot all day. The clam chowder was just potato soup with clam flavor. I never understand how a place serves clam chowder, but skimps on the clams. We notice this. People notice this. Throw some clams in the clam chowder please. The steamed clams were good. Really good. My Black Angus Burger was nothing to rave about, and my Sweet Potato Fries were not bad tasting. My friend ordered the soup which she couldn't finish because it was too salty. The Manager took it away and gave her Burger instead which she was happy about. My other friend ordered the Bacon Wrapped Scallops that she said tasted just ok. I took one bite of the Scallop and spit it out - Not worth the $18.99. SAVE your money and order a Burger. All and all, I won't be back here sorry to say. For our entrees we ordered blackened mahi caesar salad and a jerk chicken sandwich. The Caesar dressing had no flavor and the blackened mahi seemed bland. This place is a great place for kids. They have good kids meal selections and they serve their kid meals on frisbees which the kids enjoy. There's also a lot of fun things to look at like fish and statues of animals. The food was fairly priced and service was pretty good. Our food took a really long time to come out, which could have been an off day, but my youngest starts to get upset if he isn't fed in a specific time range. My Yelp friends Britt, Julie, and I decided on this place for a lunch date. I always look at the menu ahead of time and I told Britt what I was planning on getting. She kindly told me that it wasn't going to be an upscale restaurant kind of fare so don't be disappointed if I expected that level. I sent the Lobster Bisque back because the small clumps weren't lobster chunks but rather clumps of flour. The kitchen agreed and apologized. Next up for me was the Shrimp Scampi. It was alright. I wish I had gotten the Mahi Mahi Rueben because I am sure that would have been a winner. Britt was happy because each day of the week offers a different special and on Monday they focus on Ireland. At the beginning of the month first weekend they grill BBQ brisket for 13 hours they have daily specials for lunch and dinner ,on Friday and Saturday they do $1.25 Saturday shrimp on Friday I believe they do Oysters ( remember Oysters are great in months that have the letter R (April~ September ) service is great and they have TVs to watch all the sports games They also do a nice thing for customers if you spend$100 the restaurant gives you a $20 credit for your next meal or drinks The ambiance is like a Key West feel the staff Donna ( hostess) Doug & Beth ( management) are on the floor circulating making sure all customers are having a good time and making sure their food is great and that all is well and good with the servers and other staff .
