Muddy Waters is an older salty seamans bar. I can tell right away from the parrots and all the signs and nautical decorations. It definitely has a very unique ambiance. If you can't taste the sea air then you're just not paying attention... Lol It mainly consists of bar food with seafood specialties. The specials were reasonable but nothing exceptional that you couldn't find at another seafood restaurant. It's worth stopping by at least once. read more

I really wanted to like this place because the atmosphere is so kitschy and very Florida but it just wasn't very good. We were in town visiting family so we came in on Sunday night and were a party of 17. The service was just plain awful. I don't fully blame the waiter because he did have us plus other tables which is way too much work for one person, but I also don't understand how he did thing. He would come and take half the table's order, disappear for 15 min then come back and get the second half. He forgot drinks and some of the food. The food itself was mediocre. I enjoyed the spinach dip but the potato skins and the carb cakes (which were my meal) were blah with no flavor. The key lime pie for dessert was probably the most disappointing part. It was more like a key lime gelatin with barely any lime flavor. It was all around disappointing and we won't be back again read more

Veggie burger was good but needs a whole grain bun. Otherwise it's was delicious. Fish wrap was said to be stuffed full and good. Would prefer a homemade veggie burger and not impossible or beyond burger since they both have unhealthy oils and ingredients that do not line up with a vegan diet. Beef Burger was very good. Atmosphere outside was fun and tropical. I would suggest more vegan and heart healthy options which means not animals, not sugar, no dairy, no white flour, and for me no oils. read more

My wife and I love coming here for date night. We live right down the street and end up here any time we have something special to celebrate. The seafood is great and we always end up leaving happy. 5s for our first visit.. Great Service by Alex when we came on a Sunday. He was attentive and told us about the rewards program. He recommended a few apps and gave us great suggestions. Water was always refilled and came equipped with extra crackers and lemons. We came here strictly for raw oysters that are a $1 each. WHAT A STEAL‼ Oysters were plump and fresh! Loved it soo much we had 4 dozens!! Scallops were cooked well. The fried gator bites were good but not sure if I'd order that again. 3s because the second time we came on a Saturday afternoon our server was very slow. She never refilled our waters, didn't know what type of oysters they were serving for the day, and just struggled off our comment. I told her the oysters were really gritty. I bit into several shells and was over my meal. Mind you, I only ordered 6 oysters. We were SOO disappointed we were ready to chow down on 4 more dozens of oysters!! At first it was hard to find, since all the businesses have the same letters and colors but it is right in the middle of the plaza. As you walk in, it is like entering into a pirate/nautical/ ocean museum. The decorations of the place are oceangoing like, With hanging ropes, treasure chests and lots of marine world objects. It has outdoor seating, inside and a big bar right in the middle. They also have life music (I recommend to sit on the right part of the restaurant if you don't like loud music while eating). Daily happy hour 4-7pm and they have daily specials. Since We visited on Saturday, it was shrimpen out Saturdays (.99 per shrimp) I ordered mine grilled and they were delicious. Also they have other options like fried, blackened, steamed or cold. The .79 oysters are not only on happy hour is anyhour yay! They are not the best quality but hey! for .79 it is worth it. We also had the sautéed scallops with mashed potatoes. Please Don't judge by the looks. At first I saw my scallops and the presentation was not that great, but when I dive into the plate OMG one of the best mashed potatoes I've had. Creamy and well seasoned. The scallops were tender and on point. My fiancé had the dolphin fingers (no is not actual dolphin) Mahi Mahi made to your preference. That app also comes with rice very very good. We decided to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Fun cute place. Reviews mentioned long wait to get seated and food service so we came before 5pm on a Saturday. We were seated promptly to a nice corner away from the bar. Though we wanted to eat outside , we ditched the idea because a lot of smokers when we get there. No good for my medical issues. Prices were very reasonable. Dishes we ordered are all very good. Of course the highlight is the oysters. Fresh and not gritty. We all ordered appetizers and they were all served in less than 15 minutes. I had virgin tequila sunrise with some pineapple and lime and it was so good. My husband is very happy with his Tito's vodka martini. Excellent service from all staff . Mahi - grilled. I've been coming here for years and now that I live out of town, I make sure I stop here at least once when I'm visiting. It's located inside of an older shopping mall but don't let that steer you away. They have done a great job bringing the islands to their patio and inside. There's about 4 different areas to sit and all of them have that tropical vibe you'd only find in the islands. Happy hour and daily specials, trivia, sports... when you come to muddy waters you're also getting entertainment, if you can take your eyes off all the flair covering the walls. I love their oysters and many moons ago even found a pearl in one! The seafood steam pot special is hands down my favorite and they have amazing crab cakes. The menu is so big it usually takes me a few minutes to decide, everything has always been amazing. Can't go wrong with the daily specials either. That has helped make my decision easier more times than once. And the drink specials. They have some fancy drinks and let me tell you, they know how to pour them. I really liked this restaurant. In fact, I'd totally go back to eat there (actually I did the next day). We started out with escargot (both days) and they were buttery and garlicky and Parmesan-y. They came with toast points and I dipped my toast in, getting more Parmesan. The second day we added mushrooms to one of the plates of escargot and I bc wasn't a fan but my daughter was, so use your own judgment. I then ordered oysters and clams in the half shell. They are so yummy. I got the alligator appetizer and that's just so-so, as were the salads. The drink prices were also excellent and they were always well-poured. read more

I have lived 1 mile from Muddys for almost 5 years. It was my typical "go to" when guests came from out of town. The outdoor swings...the neat atmosphere...I really enjoyed it. I even became a Muddys "card" frequenter. The last few times I have gone, the service is nonexistent, the food tastes "frozen" at best. I ordered crab legs last time I was there. What a sad little pile of soggy mess...tasteless and mushy...and NOT cheap! I am sorry...what used to be a great little go to has become a get up and went place...my money is spent better elsewhere. read more

I think we probably looked like kids who found out that Santa Claus isn't real. The owner (manager?) Beth ran over to us to explain and apologize. Double U shaped bar with tons of tables for small or large groups plus outside seating surrounded by lush tropical plants. My mango-lada was good and worth it for $4. Beth gave us her card upon leaving and vouchers for 2 free drinks and again apologized for the inconvenience. She was easy going and friendly and I appreciated her excellent customer service skills. Lady year I posted a very favorable review. Two days we had a bad experience. Each of our side orders,(fries and onion rings), came to us cold. My fish sandwich was dry. My sister in law who ordered the same was brought fish strips. When told she had ordered a mahi sandwich she was brought breaded salmon sandwich. Only after all had finished did she get the correct order. The sides were returned to be heated. While the plates were warm the food was not. This was quite a disappointment after having had a good experience a year back. Our server did his best but he brought out what was placed in the plates. We never heard from a manager or shift leader which suggest that this is not uncommon. We will not be hurrying back. read more

The first time I visited Muddy Waters was YEARS ago. A time when I didn't even think me eating oysters was possible. "Everyone" would rave about their oysters specials, and how good they were. I remember going and it being full but to me it was just another place, until recently. I started liking oysters about a year ago. So now, when someone says oyster special, I'm in! Muddy Waters has them fresh, all day, every day for just $0.97 each. I usually go with the 1/2 dozen, and add something else from their menu. As I mentioned, they always taste fresh, and they are a good size. You never feel like they are giving you less because of the price. I like seating outside, gives it a more "chill" vibe, perfect for after work, or weekends. Some of my other favorite dishes are the Peel and Eat steamed shrimp, the Mussels in garlic wine sauce and the Caesar salad, since it always makes a great side to any dish. Service is always fast, they have happy hour specials, and an extensive menu for you to choose from. The inside bar is great for happy hour, if only there for drinks, where you can have a lot of fun people watching or making "new friends" - everyone is usually very friendly there. From being just another place for me, this has become a go to the past couple of months. Sure, place is not fancy or exciting, but that is the magic of it. Food was really good, but my review is going to address something else. As we were waiting to be seated, a lady (I'm assuming a manager) starts yelling at one of the servers in front of us and the patio full of patrons. She belittled him and had such a nasty tone speaking to him like he is nothing. I felt for this man because his hands were full and here she is yelling at him instead of being a manager and trying to help. As someone who worked in the food industry a long time, my managers would have never been so disgusting and rude. If there was a real concern, it could have been addressed in private. Then she flips a switch and smiles at us asking how many were in our party as if we didn't just see how she treated that server. I was hoping he would be our server so we could let him know that he should not have been treated that way but we were put in a different section. The server we got was lovely and our food was good. The employees are extremely agitated and are constantly changing over as well as the managers. the only reason I continued to go for the past 10 years is because of their fish tacos, but those too have gone downhill. they squeeze their tables together so tight everybody bumps into each other! This is was my 3rd visit, however it has been years since my last visit. First of all, the vibe of the place is awesome. It is a casual spot with a tropical vibe. The service s good, sometimes great. They staff is friendly, but sometimes a bit scattered.The food is also good, sometimes great. I had the oyster po' boy that was pretty tasty, but could have use a couple more oysters to battle the bread. Everyone was satified with their meal overall, but the rice, wile it had good flavor, was definitely under cooked. They do have a decent kids menu delivered in a frisbee, which was a hit. The food prices are ok, a little higher than I think is needed, but this place draws in touristy types along with locals. So it makes sense. They do have great drink specials, so check those out.
