Dr. Mudgil is awful, truly truly awful. Incompetent, inexperienced, uncaring. My regular dermatologist retired so I went here since I was able to get an appointment. He cut my skin lesions, a procedure that I have done before without any issue. One part that he cut was quite painful, and that part got severely infected with pus oozing. I called and their PA sent me the names of two ointments that I have used religiously. I thought it got better but the pus is back. See the photos. Now the front desk won't schedule me in till next week and it has already been over a month. She is offering an appointment with the PA - why is the doctor not bothering to help with an infection he caused? The PA made it seem like this is very normal, and I said no, it is not, I have done it before and infections aren't normal, but there has been zero folow-up. And even the biopsy, they didn't call to inform until I called about the infection. STAY AWAY. The first is after a month, the last 3 are after a week. Editing to add - the feedback is untrue. That I got the biopsy results in their system is a lie. I didn't check, and when I called to complain the PA said good news, it's negative. After back and forth with the front desk about my infection, the PA called, got my photos and sent prescription for 2 ointments. There was no follow up after that. 3 weeks later the problem persisted. The front desk refused to give me an appointment till the week after. And the PA was available - why couldn't the doctor solve the problem he created? Why should I keep having to see a PA? If he is so busy he shouldn't take new patients. And he barely spends any time with the patient answering questions, he is in and out and that's it. I didn't find him very knowledgeable. read more

Do not go to this practice. I paid my co-pay and two weeks later there was a charge on my card for the full amount of the visit from a third party billing company. They never mailed me a bill and gave my credit card information to some billing company in NYC. When you call this number there is no one available to speak too. I'm still trying to figure out why my card information was sent to some third party who thinks they have permission to bill me. I had every intention to pay my bill, but was completely caught off guard that they would just randomly charge a credit card within a week of a visit. They are more interested in the money than the care of their patients. I realized that when they asked for the copay before the visit. It doesn't get any better than Mudgil Dermatology. I walk into this beautiful office. The reception was beyond polite. It was great because she was so genuine. I hung my coat and the doc was ready to see me. I talked with the assistant about my concerns and doctor Mudgil came right in up to date with my concerns and offered a complete solution. He talked with me, not at me. Asked my concerns, LISTENED!, and THEN...offered a plan of action. AMAZING! He talked about everything that was contributing to my skin issues and talked about my options to treat. When I left not only did I have a complete plan of action but I saved money. I went in with an idea of my problem and exactly how it should be treated. Well the expensive plan I chose turned out to not be the real solution but a bandage for a deeper problem that he diagnosed and is now treating. Also if you are a person of color, I do not need to tell you the problems with dermatologist, make-up, skincare, etc... It can be a nightmare. This practice is PERFECT! I've been under Christina's care for 7 months, and I am happy to say that after 14 years of suffering with acne, my skin is totally cleared and looks amazing! I have visited countless other dermatologists who were unable to help me, and I am so happy that I found Christina. :) Throughout my visits, Christina prescribed a few topicals that not only help my acne, but also help with wrinkles (a huge plus for me), and we did a chemical peel that helped with scarring and seemed to really freshen my skin. Office staff could not get my credit card through, advised card was denied yet Amex never even saw the payment attempt. I've never had a complaint about the service they provide, and Dr. Tseng especially seems to love giving samples. However, my major issue and why I'd be hesitant to recommend them is because of billing. They outsource their accounting and there often seems to be some miscommunication between them and their billing department, which means half the time I go, I've been double charged or charged for services that my insurance was supposed to cover! Then, because their accountant does not work on site, it can be a pain to get in touch with someone who can issue a refund. read more

I could go on and on about how wonderful this practice is- so I will. If you're looking for the readers digest version: Everyone in this office from the front desk to the clinicians is fabulous and I trust them exclusively with my dermatological care. I recommend Christina, the PA in the practice to everyone I know- she's simply the best. Okay, now for the long-winded version... Office / Location The office itself is less than a 5 minute walk from the Union Square subway station (4-5-6, L, N-Q-R). Once you step inside everything is modern, noticeably clean and very relaxing. The consultation / procedure rooms are on the same par- exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Front Desk / Scheduling The front desk will do everything in their power to accommodate your needs / scheduling conflicts. I have watched other patients berate the women at the front desk over the most ridiculous things which makes me sick because it's very clear to see that they do their best to be flexible and offer as many options as possible. As a courtesy I try to schedule at least a week out. Clinicians / Treatment Christina DeMartino is truly a fantastic PA. Anyone who refuses to see PAs instead of an MD is truly missing out when it comes to her. She is very kind, knowledgeable, professional, patient and understanding of every concern I've ever had. Since May of 2014 she has given me six fractional laser treatments for my indented acne scarring and I couldn't be happier with the results. She took her time and paid very close attention to detail throughout the entire process and ensured I was comfortable before, during and after. She has never rushed me and always double checks that all my questions have been answered before leaving the room. Aside from all of that, she has such a happy and welcoming personality which really makes a difference when you're receiving some rather intense treatments. She's now Dr Cerveny (her married name) and her office has gotten a major upgrade from the old Brooklyn location, but everything else is still the same: attentive, knowledgeable, friendly dermatological care. I'm from Florida and need frequent skin check-ups and I can say with total certainty that Dr Cerveny provides the most thorough and cautious skin care I've had (and I've had plenty). She knows the ins-and-outs of just about every mole on my body and I feel so much better for it. She's awesome! read more

The most comfortable experience I've ever had at the doctor. The office was extemely convenient (near Union Sq), new, clean, state of the art equipment and relaxing environment. I had to wait a total of....zero minutes! The doc came out as soon as I was done with the paperwork. I always feel nervous at the doctor, but Doctor M made me feel at ease and was warm, listened carefully to my problems, and offered great advice and treament. He's a young guy and very jovial and knowledgeable. The appointment was easy to make on ZocDoc and had lots of convenient times available. I love it when I don't have to negotiate to get an appointment within the century. I don't wish skin problems on anyone, but if you do have them, a trip to this dermatologist is the way to go! Today I was scheduled to have my annual skin check with Dr. Tseng; I've been seeing her for several years. I don't have any issue with Dr. Tseng. She thorough and fast. Unfortunately, I did not get to see her since I left the office due to their new and flawed credit card policy. They ask you to write down your credit card number, the three digit code on the back and expiration date. I told her I was not comfortable providing this information since I am concerned and hyper-aware about identity theft. The damage someone could do is limitless if they had access to my personal credit card information especially my three-digit security code, which they required. As with many doctor's offices, personnel come and go and this office always has a new person at the front desk. I offered to pay my co-pay up front but was told that I needed to pay a fee of $350 upfront for the actual exam and that I could submit the charges through my insurance company, which I have never done before and did not want to do. I never had a billing issue with this office but she didn't seem to care. Unless they change this policy, I'll be seeing someone else who does not require their patients to hand over such personal information that could put them at risk if someone got their file. read more

Dr. Mudgil is not only a terrible doctor, he's a crook. I had a sebaceous cyst on my shoulder and went in for a scheduled appointment. He looked at it and said, yes, something should be done. I asked if it could be done then, and he said, No, he'd need to schedule another visit. I asked how long it would take to deal with it, and he said about ten minutes. "But I'm here now, I had an appointment, and you've spent all of two minutes with me. Why can't you do it now?" Nope. Couldn't do it. Come back in two weeks. When I went back two weeks later, the cyst was now too inflamed for him to deal with. I had to schedule yet another appointment. I came back a month later, after the inflammation had subsided somewhat. Now, this supposed doctor (who by the way charged me for all three visits!) didn't surgically remove the cyst, he numbed it and then squeezed it with his fingers (which hurt like hell despite the numbing). It was barbaric--and not surprisingly, although it temporarily alleviated the problem, the cyst came back. My new doctor, who performed a simple excision, has finally taken care of it. I should have sued Mudgil for malpractice. The fact that he charged me for three visits on top of his fuckery, was just salt in the wound. DON'T GO TO THIS FRAUD AND CROOK!! I have been Dr. Mudgil's patient for about 5 years. I have visited his office often and have had numerous interactions with him and his staff. Dr. Mudgil is by far the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. His bedside manner is exemplary. He is also the smartest person I know, which comes through when discussing ailments with him. When having a discussion with him, I am always amazed at how knowledgeable he is about his work. This lends to a great sense of confidence in being under his care. Having a medical problem can be a very stressful situation. Its nice to have a doctor who is calm and can provide answers so that I can not only get medical relief, but mental relief as well. When first entering his office, the first thing you will note is the modern styling of the space. This is an extension of his work, which includes the latest in dermatological treatments. Dr. Mudgil keeps up to date on the latest research in dermatology and uses these findings to provide up to date treatments to his patients. I have been to other dermatologists who seem to prescribe the same treatment for everything and just want to quickly relieve the symptoms with little to no concern for the underlying issue that is causing the symptoms. His staff is professional and friendly. I have always had a pleasant experience during each visit. They always greet me with a smile and take care of me as promptly as possible. I have seen Dr. Glodny twice for two separate issues and he was spot on with his diagnosis both times and prescribed medication that took care of my problems very quickly, especially considering prior dermatologists I've seen could not figure out what was wrong with me. I am a dissenter from Dr. Mudgil's positive reviews here. My wife visited his office last year after a mysterious rash appeared on her body about two weeks earlier. She was examined by the physician's assistant and Dr. Mudgil. They suspected chicken pox, ordered lab tests, and prescribed acyclovir, a treatment for chicken pox. We were out of pocket about $1300. When my wife followed up on the lab tests, she was told it was not chicken pox. On our own, we realized that we had bedbugs in our apartment. The possibility of bedbugs had not been mentioned to my wife. Chicken pox might have been a reasonable possibility, though my wife's symptoms were not typical of it, as she did not have a headache or fever at the onset, and the rash did not form scabs. More troubling, acyclovir is NOT recommended as a treatment for chicken pox beyond the first 72 hours or less, as Dr. Mudgil has acknowledged. So even if she had chicken pox, from everything I've read it would have been too late to treat with that medication. Now Dr. Mudgil might be a generally fine doctor, but I think in this case he dropped the ball. On the plus side, we did get a reduction in the lab fees, and we did get rid of the bedbugs. read more

Since I've been going to Mudgil Dermatology, P.C., I feel my face has been clearing up very well and I feel more confident. Dr. Mudgil actually listens to your concerns and provides solutions that are right for you. I was prescribed oral medication and he told me up front that he didn't want to keep me on it for long. He wanted me to be able to move away from that & just rely on topical creams/gels, etc. I've had other dermatologists who didn't care if I was taking oral medication for an extended period of time. They rarely listened to my feedback or what I thought worked best for my skin in the past. Dr. Mudgil is always punctual. His staff are very polite & friendly, which is a big plus. I am an uptowner living downtown! For the two past decades I have frequented many of the "top name" dermatologists on Park Avenue. My daughter had severe eczema and after calling all my uptown doctors it seemed crazy to wait a week to be seen. At a friend's referral, I called Dr. Mudgil's office (near my home) and his PA, Christina DeMartino, had an opening. Christina was able to identify and treat my daughter immediately and had the most lovely bedside manner to boot. As a junkie for fabulous cutting edge treatments, I noticed the brochures on the front desk yet I was surprised that as a young new "walk-in" patient the receptionists did not suggest that I take a brochure or familiarize myself with the practice. Christina made such an impression on me that a few weeks later I made an appointment with her and ended up scheduling several more with her for treatments that I had being traveling for uptown. I am officially a convert and enlightened to the world of PA's ... as why see a doctor when you can see a highly trained PA. Dr. Mudgil has his reputation to uphold and he would not keep a PA on staff if he didn't feel he could trust her to treat his client base. Christina was also very clear that if there was a condition she was not familiar with she always consults with the Doctor. So lucky me, I now travel no more than a few blocks to see Christina regularly for myself and my children.
