I've been seeing Dr. Mudgil for more than a year now, and he is honestly the best dermatologist I've ever been to. He is exactly as described in the other reviews - personable, friendly, extremely capable and very professional. He is one of the younger dermatologists out there, you get this feeling that he's up to date on all the cutting edge technology, and that your skin is in the best hands. No office waits, and he always makes follow-up calls to see if you have any questions. He's helped me through all sorts of rough patches (so to speak) and made my skin look amazing!! On a superficial note, he has the most beautiful office in the most accessible location (near the West Village and Union Square). Definitely see this guy, if you're looking for a dermatologist... Dr. Tseng is polite but also too fast and flippant--does not take time or effort to help you understand what she's doing or what you need to do after the visit. "Perfunctory" is a good way to describe the whole experience. Not what is desired when she is taking a scalpel to your skin without explaining what's going on. The rest of the office also similar. Very strange experience. I would avoid unless you're a high paying cosmetic customer--maybe then the attitude is different then. read more

I wish I could give him 10 more stars! A couple years back, my hair started falling out and no doctor could find any reason. I mean, huge chunks of hair missing and large bald spots. I visited Dr. Mudgil and from the first visit, I could tell that he was amazing. He always took his time, explained any procedure to me and rate of success. Losing hair like this can be a bit traumatic, and I will never forget how sympathetic he was. He is genuinely caring and his expertise is unmatched! His treatments worked and my hair is fully back! I haven't had any problems with it since, but would recommend Dr. Mudgil to anyone. I wish he could be my regular doctor! Do not go here for a "free" consultation because it's a scam! I went for a "free" consultation for a laser resurfacing and ended up getting a bill in the mail. I called the office to ask why I was being charged and they told me it was because it was coded as an office visit and the doctor prescribed me medicine so I am responsible for the office fee charge of $125.00. I never asked for him to prescribe me medicine nor did I fill it as that is not what I went there for. First of all, he prescribed me acne medicine when I no longer have acne! I received horrible service from the Office Manager who did not help me in any kind of way. Definitely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! read more

When i went too Dr. Mudgil's office i was greeted with smiles and a very friendly staff. I had a few questions about the paperwork being that i was a new patient and they helped me with no hesitation and were not annoyed with me at all which i truly appreciated. I had a short wait time also which was nice because my time is valuable as well as the doctors which to me was a huge plus. Once i met the doctor he was very helpful he provided me with the right medication and resolved my issue with in days i was so grateful! i Finally felt relived! Dr. Mudgil is a knowledgeable dermatologist who knows what he's talking about. So if you are looking for yearly skin checks and a good doctor for other dermatological issues, I would recommend him. For anything cosmetic, however, I would definitely look elsewhere. I've had several bad experiences that left me more than frustrated and left my friends asking, "what happened to your face?" Also, his nurse practitioner is very difficult to deal with, lacks his smarts and is frankly unpleasant. The rest of the staff is super nice and helpful. read more

I tried scheduling my annual skin check with Dr. Mudgil but he was booked until the following month, so I made an appointment with Dr. Tseng. For the record, I think Dr. M is a good dermatologist and Dr. T seemed adequate. My exam went smoothly and I pointed out a red rash on my left wrist underneath my watch. It had appeared a week or so prior and it didn't itch or bother me, but I asked her what it might be. Dr. Tseng said it looked like a tick bite and that I should watch carefully for a bullseye rash to develop, an indicator of Lyme disease. I was shocked because I'm very careful when it comes to ticks and couldn't remember recently being in an area where I would be exposed to them. There was no suggestion at this time by Dr. T of doing a Lyme blood test. The next week I went back to have a few spots removed from my hands with a laser-- a purely cosmetic procedure handled by the PA Christina. My rash had not changed or improved so I showed her my wrist and she said it looked like a "classic bullseye". I had already scheduled an appointment with my internist for a Lyme blood test, and the following day went to see her. Within two minutes of speaking with me and looking at my rash, my savvy doctor told me she was 99% sure I did not have a tick bite much less Lyme disease. She also said there was no such bullseye present. She inquired about the deep purple burn marks on my hands and I explained the laser procedure. After an incredulous look, she did the blood test and, as predicted, it came back negative for Lyme. The rash on my wrist? She suspected an allergy of some sort, perhaps dermatitis caused from my watch irritating my skin. It disappeared after using topical over the counter cortisone for a few days. I left a message for Christina to call me concerning a prescription refill that hadn't come through and to inform her of the Lyme result as well but never heard back. A second call a few days later got me to the front desk again, but alas, still no refill. Unfortunately there seems to be a disconnect in this office and I would prefer to leave the diagnostics to the MD's and perhaps the delicate procedures as well. read more

I've never written a review for any service provider, but had to create an account to strongly recommend Dr. Mudgil. He is the most personal, professional, and knowledgeable dermatologist I have had. To give a little background on myself -I am a very difficult patient and have had 3 NYC dermatologists before finding Dr. Mudgil. At the other offices, I've had very long wait times and seldom was able to see the actual doctor (instead they would send the assistants)! Every time I have visited Dr. Mudgil, I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes and I was able to see him, the actual doctor, every time! He can confidently diagnosis and solve problems. I recently moved to Boston. However, I am not leaving Dr. Mudgil's practice. I am in NYC every so often for business and when I need to, I schedule appointments. But, when I am not in NYC and become nervous/anxious and have a question about my skin, I send him an email and he responds immediately. I had a question about my skin on a Saturday at 5:45 so I sent him an email and he responded with an answer 6 minutes later. Now, just to put things in perspective, I expect great service and that's how I choose and decide to stay with a provider. However, if I had just received great service, I wouldn't have written this review. What I received was unexpected service - the type of service that you rave about. Time and time again, I receive this type of unexpected service from Dr. Mudgil and each time I rave about it to friends and family. If you are deciding on a dermatologist, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Mudgil - his service and professional expertise truly speaks for itself. read more

I recently went to Dr. Cerveny, nèe Rickenbach, after reading the other great reviews here on Yelp. I am so glad I did! She is knowledgable, friendly, and has a wonderfully down-to-earth approach. Unlike two previous dermatologists, Dr. Cerveny listens to all my concerns during each visit, rather than asking me to address only one issue at a time. Doctor Mudgil, is a hidden GEM!!! the appointment and his knowledge are far beyond the Hicksville normal . You walk into to a beautiful office filled with a wall of organic flowers the place looks like something out of a los Angeles uppercut Doctor . Doctor Mudgil has a great personality and is really tops in his field. He takes great care to review all of your health history and is very personable. I have never written a Yelp review but had such a good experience with Dr. Mudgil and his staff that I felt it needed to be done. I have never (especially in NY) had such high service from a Doctor before. Even though the wait was a bit long (30ish minutes), it didn't even matter because everything else was top notch. When I had a question for the Dr., he was quick to respond by both phone and email within 10 minutes of my call and was very helpful answering my questions. My dermatologist sent a biopsy to Mudil Dermatology PC (Mudgil). Mudgil entered incorrect insurance id number on insurance form and waited too long to appeal denial so began billiing me. My insurer said I have no liability for the charges and sent an EOB stating I had no liability. Mudgil sent me an invoice for $500 even though allowable charge for service is much less. I disputed the charge as it was Mudgil's error and conducted conference call with Mudgil's billing service and my insurer. Insurer reiterated that I was not responsible. Mudgil turned over account to a collection agency without informing me which impacted my credit. Mudgil continues to illegally collect the sum from me instead of accepting responsibility for its own incompetence, Other comments on Yelp and Google indicate that Mudgill and its billing service engage in a pattern of deceptive billing practices. read more
