Delicious food and great service. We came on a busy night. Everyone there seemed to be happy in a noticeable, buzzing kind of way. The couple next to us raved about it being the best Indian food in the area and suggested we get the pakora and samosas. We sat in the back near a big hutch displaying pretty art pieces that gave my two young daughters something to look at and count (the symmetry of the rows of plates made a multiplication lesson easy). I read a few reviews that mentioned the decor being a bit undesirable. I can understand that view as there is something bland about the paint color and the overall lighting. There's no windows in the actual dining area, which I think is the biggest issue in terms of ambience. The art is interesting though. They even present the food in things like wheeled carts instead of bowls or plates, which is unique and thoughtful. We had the samosas, pakora, tandoori salmon, chicken tenders, shrimp biryani, garlic naan, butter naan, and mango juice. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The flavors were delightful and complemented each other well. We were satiated without any heavy feeling. My family will be regulars! Came here for the weekend buffet, delicious non-vegetarian and vegetarian options, which included tandoori chicken, butter chicken, fish and lamb as well as paneer tikka masala, bhaigan bharta and dal among others. Loved the chicken biryani--they also had naan and white basmati rice. Masala chai offered, very flavorful. A word about the decor--I was reading another review where this person was dissatisfied, not sure what they were expecting but I find the decor extremely thoughtful and stylish. There is a beautiful display of Indian vehicles with figurines, wall displays of bells and wood carvings all along the wall and ornate fabric covering the back of the booths. The restrooms were also color coordinated and sparkling clean. Whoever directed the interior design of the restaurant should be very proud. read more

One of those places I would only go to again if the place was practically empty. Good food, but slow (read: GLACIAL) service. The place cannot handle a full house. Our drinks took 40 minutes to get, and our food another 35. We did not order any starters, short of a small basket of naan bread, and that took about 20 minutes to get, even after numerous times asking for it. Other tables around us were getting their drinks & food before us despite being seated significantly later, so there is some sort of confusion going on there (unless it was intentional, which would be worse). The owner also very off-handedly asked if we wanted something for the table, as though it was just a matter of preference, and it ended up being a charged item, same with an order of naan which a waiter off-handedly got for us as though it was a "sorry for the delay" sort of comp'd item. We were pretty vocal about our disappointment with most of these things, and though the owner did not get as rude as some reviews imply, he did seem a bit sassy at times. read more

Placed an order for 2 drinks, samosa, bhindi masala, and a lamb dish in a cream sauce. Unfortunately, it took about an hour for the first item to arrive to our table. This was not a crowded place: there were empty tables, and only one additional party came during the hour we waited. The waiters were nice and helpful when they came, but I find it strange no one thought to come drop by on the 2 people at their table still in their masks after an hour. Also the phone goes unanswered. We made 3 calls to the restuarant, one during the hour long wait, and not one of them was answered. When the food finally arrived, the entrees were placed in front of the wrong people. The samosas were average. They are mushy on the inside and that made it difficult to parse out the individual flavors of the filling. The bhindi masala and lamb were both cooked well and tasted pretty good. They have an interesting cocktail menu and they did not disappoint. Overall, the food was decent but not worth the wait. read more

Such good food here! Stopped by on our way up to Durham and the food didn't disappoint. The restaurant was spacious and service was friendly and helpful. Our server was able to recommend really great dishes. We got the muhglai chicken, chicken biryani, lamb dreams curry, gobi Dahl, and the tandoori green shrimp. Everything was perfect from temperature, taste, and serving size. We asked for medium spicy and each dish had a great kick that lingered in our mouth. Our favorite was the muhglai chicken. (It's on a separate menu). The sauce that came with the chicken was divine and the chicken itself was cooked perfectly and had a great seasoning to it. We still talk about this dish. The lamb curry went well with our biryani which we thought the biryani was tasty in itself and presentation. Everything just tasted delicious. No two dishes tasted alike so we had such a great experience dining here. read more

Went for dinner. Dining room only had two other parties and we were all really spaced apart so that was great COVID wise. Now let me tell y'all about the food... it is SO so delicious. Each bite is complex and flavorful so you never get bored of your food halfway thru ur meal which we all know can happen. I had their house special curry with mahi mahi (#8 on the menu) and it was just so good, especially since I ordered it spicy. The spice level is adjustable for all their meals though if you can't handle the spice! I'd say their take on spicy is perfect for experienced spicy food eaters like me (I'm viet and my dad eats chilies with almost every meal). It was that perfect level of euphoric spicy that clears up your nasal passage and makes you tear up just a bit. The mahi mahi was so tender and soft, such a yummy cook on it. My partner had the lamb curry (24$) and he reported that it was, you guessed it, delicious. He cleared his plate and two orders of garlic naan too LMAO. The naan was fluffy with a crispy bottom and shaved garlic nd butter melted on top like DAMN. They got everything right !!! The dining room is split into two, a more naturally lit one in front, and a darker (and, larger) one behind. The space is beautiful, and comfortable. The cocktails are a work of art, and very tasty! The food is delicious! We had 2 apps, the lamb tacos and Chowpatty. They complemented each other very well! Entrees were lamb vindaloo (VERY spicy, but we like that), and paneer sag. Beautifully decorated restaurant, nice atmosphere and everything looked as pictured. Beautifully presented, friendly staff, our waiter's name was Safi. So nice and knowledgeable. Sitting in the main dining hall the smell of the various spices captivates you and the hospitality from the staff was delightful too not the over the top convo it was just pleasing, what was cool we spoke to the owner and he seemed like a cool guy. This place is a shit show. Our family had reservations and overheard the owner say he didn't care after we repeatedly reminded him as such while waiting for 30 minutes. When we were finally seated, we waited so long for something to drink that I almost drank my own urine when I went to the bathroom because I was so thirsty. What a disaster. So...45 minutes after being seated, we finally had someone come to our table to take some semblance of an order. No naan for 45 more minutes, no soda for the same amount of time. No drinks because the nonexistent busy bar was supposedly busy. No costumer service. No gratis anything except a random dessert item that was inedible. The whole experience lasted over 2 & 1/2 horrible hours! Never again. Not worth the trip with friends from NYC. I'd like to comment on the food, but we are so disappointed with the experience and can't write anything positive until we go back to this establishment again. read more

Came here for lunch, Excellent food and service. Had the Mulligatawny soup: which was amazing. Perfect for a chilly day. Also ordered the dhai puri which tasted really good. Only knock there, is that one order only came with 6 so not the best value but it tasted really good. We also had the fried chicken tikka masala burger which was really delicious and a big portion! Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! it was our first time here, and my friend's first time eating Indian Cuisine. She loved it! I have a few favorites in my area, and love Indian food. The owner stopped at our table several times to check in and see how we were doing. He then offered dessert and tea on the house. We then learned that they opened about 4 months ago. Outstanding. Have never had Indian food and was hoping we'd be able to speak with the staff. They did and then some - explained everything in detail, offered to adjust the spice level so the dishes would not be too spicy. Food was out of this world - amazing flavors. Can't compare since we have not had Indian in the past, but this place was excellent. Prompt and regular attention but not overbearing. Great cocktails as well! After reading lots of good reviews here was disappointed with our meal here. Problems with the three dishes we tried. Gobi cauliflower over spiced masking the vegetables taste The special curry with shrimp's sauce was okay but for $25 it came with only 4 small shrimp. Not good value. Finally the chicken tikka was quite dry. Good thing we had the curry sauce to drown the chicken to make it edible. 85 dollars for a poor meal read more
