THEY ARE SO GOOD. Fresh, and quick turnaround. Landed here by mistake 2 weeks ago, best mistake. I now drive from Ashton to Gaithersburg for this truck. I personally like their quesadillas, more specifically tongue quesadilla. Don't let the fact that it's a truck push you away

a food truck parked in a parking lot

Let me start by saying that we were not looking to go here. We were at the gas where this food truck was located (on 355 near Shady Grove.) My husband was pumping the gas and I was in the car, he opened the door and told me to come outside. The minute I opened my door, I knew why he requested me to do so. The aroma coming the food truck was out of this world. So we know it smells good but what about the taste? Like any new places we go to, we can't decide what to get so we get a little of everything: chicken, steak and sausage street tacos, chicken quesadillas, and chicken platos. Everything did not disappoint. My absolute favorite would have to be the chorizo street tacos. It was so full of flavor and a hint of spiciness. The chicken quesadillas were a close second - full of chicken and cheese. We went back for more 2 days later. New item we got this time is the Mangonada- wow- sweet and salty and refreshing. Overall - great experience.

Delicious tacos are, to paraphrase Ben Franklin, proof that a deity loves us and wants us to be happy. Munchi - a bright food truck located at the BP gas station right by the intersection of Frederick Road and Shady Grove - is excellent proof of that. I've had most of their tacos, and all have been delicious. Notably, they have extensive vegetarian options, which is great. Today, I went all vegetarian and got the veggie taco, a double cheese taco, and a veggie mega burrito. All were excellent, and the rich, gooey cheesiness of the double queso taco made it an instant favorite with me and my mouth. The veggie burrito was also stellar, with great peppers, beans, a perfectly soft rice that ate like vermicelli with a hint of saffron and the cheese melted perfectly along with great warming spices. The tortilla was heated with a bit of char, too - a really nice touch. You can get any of these options as burritos, quesadillas, tacos, salads, tortas, or bowls/platos, so we'll be back soon to try every variant we can. Great food, great prices, friendly service.

We've been searching for the best Mangonada. The closest spot so far that we found was Munchk Taquria (food truck) thanks to Yelp. It was easy to spot. So far the mangonada was really good. We got the last one they had. The only bad thing was that the mango was a little warm. We figured because it was out and it being the last one I can't give it a 4 star. It was $5.30 with tax. We will be back to try the food; they had a good list of items to try!!!

Delicious steak and chicken tacos at a reasonable price. Wide selection of Jarritos. Tacos come with a grilled HOT pepper, some chips, salsa, cukes, and radishes.

Jarritos!!! Guava :)

The food served out of this truck is delicious, and spending $10 per visit is pretty easy, so be sure to grab the loyalty card to get some free food. We enjoyed the beef and cheese, which was a gooey heap of flavor, and beef and chicken tacos. Other than the entrees, the meals came with plenty of fixins on the side. I LOVED that creamy red salsa! The lime, pepper, and radishes served alongside the meals added additional textures and flavors! The owner was kind and is rightfully proud of the fresh food he serves.

2 carne (steak) tacos

I was very surprised by the amount of items I received when ordering two steak tacos. i didn't wait long at all for my food, very happy about that. I wasn't sure if the tacos were going to have much flavor but I was very satisfied with the flavor and seasoning in the taco and the add ons made them even better. The location of the truck is easy to access and you're able to sit in your car and wait for the food.

Carne asada and pollo taco with fixins for a little more than $5. Excellent flavor! ¡Sabór!

As a misplaced Californian, I am always on the lookout for taqueria. This place nails it! Great flavor on the two tacos I had (carne asada and pollo). The salsa was flavorful and although not as spicy as my SoCal tastebuds would like, you get a half of a grilled jalapeño on the side so you can add heat if you want. The inside of the truck is super clean and new and the owner was super friendly. Will definitely come back again and again.

Taco truck in full effect!! Have stopped by a few times for there mangonadas because this is the only place in the area that has something like this. It never fails my favorite part is the tamarind candy stick it brings. Come by this time ordered 3 tacos 2 chicken and 1 steak. The tacos come with a generous amount of meat in them and came with a side of chips and a sauce that omg it's to lick your fingers for. We also order a steak torta that was again filled up. The only complaint would be that it had too much cheese to the point were it's overwhelming. If you are a cheese lover then I'm sure this would be the perfect order for you. Overall this is a great place to pick up a quick and tasty meal.

Tacos de carne

THIS PLACE IS MY FAVORITE I WONT GET TACOS ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE! I got 3 tacos de carne, and a torta de carne. I've been here previously here and got a mixto of carne and pollo and also so good ! The food is fresh as they advertise and the seasoning is bomb!

The truck has new owners, the food isn't the same. The burrito was mid and lacked flavor. The service was 3/5. Definitely not going back.

Not fancy, but nice and comfortable tables with huge umbrellas to block the sun. The food here is good. In the past, we got the Platter for 2 ($27), which is a nice sized platter of wood fire grilled steak, chicken, sausage and shrimp with rice/beans/salad and tortillas. We couldn't finish it all and it was all delicious. No complimentary chips and salsa for the table, so tonight we ordered chips and guac to start. The guac was good with chunks of tomato, onion and avocado; it would have been nice to also get some salsa with it when you order the guac, but there's a separate charge for chips/salsa. For entrees, we got a Carne En Vara and Carne Asada. The En Vara is a skewer of chicken, beef, onion and green peppers, with rice/beans and a side order of arepitas (corn fritter). Everything was well prepared. I liked the arepitas. The Asada was a decent piece of beef that was well prepared. Came with rice and beans and flour tortillas. The service was very good. We were seated and received ice water promptly. The guac came out quickly as did the entrees, but not rushed. The server came by a couple of times to see how we were doing snd she refilled our waters. This is a "Latin" restaurant, and maybe I'm used to the ubiquitous Mexican restaurants that place salsa on the table, and I will say I missed it and didn't want to have to spend $3.95 for salsa. There were a couple of times when I would have liked to dip some of the meat into a sauce/salsa. They do put a bottle of Habanero hot sauce on the table when you sit down. The entrees tonight were good, but if you want to try the fire grilled meats, for value I recommend the Platter for 2.

Not only was the food great, but it came out timely and looked awesome plated. Your communication with me from start to finish was excellent and you arrived in plenty of time. I was introduced to Trippy Taco via a Yelp experience. Since I was happy with what I saw (or…read morerather, with what I ate), I've dropped by Trippy Tacos on a few occasions to satisfy taco cravings. Overall, I cannot complain about the food, quality, service and price. Tacos will typically run $3-$4, which is a bit standard for the area, and they are loaded with plenty of fixings. Also, Trippy has daily specials for certain items on the menu. For small place, the restaurant has a pretty extensive Tex-Mex menu, so I think everyone should find something that they'll like. Although the restaurant has some seating, this place is more of a take-out spot. One tip: I highly recommend ordering before arriving to Trippy Taco, so you can simply grab and go. Unfortunately, parking is a bit limited and tight (like most places in this area). While the food, service and prices are pretty good, I'll admit that I would not go too far out of my way to visit since there are no shortage of Tex-Mex spots in the area. But, it's a great spot to check out on your way from Point A to Point B. Usually, I visit on my way home from the gym (to undo the benefits of my workout).

I ordered carryout, including a pulled chicken Gordita, a pulled goat meat Gordita for the same amount, some chicken tacos (soft flour shell with white meat grilled, chopped chicken topped with very little), and the Tacos Dorados (fried tacos stuffed with shredded chicken and topped with green salsa and cheese). Pictures are from when I got home with my food. Needless to say, for $32 or so (which includes a 20% tip), I had enough food for 3 meals. The Gorditas, while not necessarily healthy, definitely fill you up. The Tacos Dorados were very good for a late night, post drinking (water, of course!), dinner, and the chicken tacos were excellent for a next-day lunch. Accompanying my food were two different sauces -- a red sauce that did not have much flavor, but was scorching hot on the palette and a green sauce that was very tasty and moderate in heat. Overall, an outstanding choice for authentic Mexican food that was very, very good.

Both times prior to this time, we ate inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, take out orders don't seem to get the same care and attention. First, let me say the food was very good. But, my order had issues as soon as I arrived. We asked for the spicy sauce to be taken off our fish tacos. Luckily, the hostess who took the order noticed right away, that it was made incorrectly. So, it had to be redone. We asked for pico de gayo to replace the sauce and the fish tacos were drowned in the pico. It should have been placed on the side. We were charged $1 for every salsa sauce we ordered. When you eat in the restaurant it is given freely. The chips were served cold. When, I called and asked about it, I was told these were changes that had been made last month. We enjoyed the carne asada tacos with the avocado crema. They were delicious. My grandkids loved the Spanish rice. We also really liked the tacos Al pastor. The pork and pineapple are a tasty and flavorful combination. These were great. So, was it a total loss? No, not at all..we enjoyed a lot of the meal, but when you are paying $80 for a take out dinner, you want that attention to detail that you receive when dining at the restaurant. I will definitely be back, but I will be eating inside the restaurant. That, way, I can get my margarita too.
