Pleasantly please and delighted by Munchi Taqueria (Mexican/Taco Food Truck). I'd call it a hidden gem, it's parked at a Exxon on Frederick Ave in Rockville, Maryland. Between appointments and needing gas for my car, I stop at Exxon, while was car was gassing up, I decided I need to eat as well. I zipped over to the food truck parked in the lot of the gas station and placed my order. Services: The woman managing the orders told me she'd bring it over to my car, as it was cold and very windy. Which was very nice of her to offer. I believe I waited about 15 to 20 minutes, which the food was delivered to my car, the lady apologized for the delay. She said they wanted to make sure the quesadilla was well cooked. Food: Truly delicious, crunchy on the outside but gooey with melted cheese on the inside. The salsa provided is the unsung hero of the dish, it had enough fire to it and was extremely fresh and tasty. Great food, I feel that I must visit again and try other items. read more

Let me start by saying that we were not looking to go here. We were at the gas where this food truck was located (on 355 near Shady Grove.) My husband was pumping the gas and I was in the car, he opened the door and told me to come outside. The minute I opened my door, I knew why he requested me to do so. The aroma coming the food truck was out of this world. So we know it smells good but what about the taste? Like any new places we go to, we can't decide what to get so we get a little of everything: chicken, steak and sausage street tacos, chicken quesadillas, and chicken platos. Everything did not disappoint. My absolute favorite would have to be the chorizo street tacos. It was so full of flavor and a hint of spiciness. The chicken quesadillas were a close second - full of chicken and cheese. We went back for more 2 days later. New item we got this time is the Mangonada- wow- sweet and salty and refreshing. Delicious tacos are, to paraphrase Ben Franklin, proof that a deity loves us and wants us to be happy. Munchi - a bright food truck located at the BP gas station right by the intersection of Frederick Road and Shady Grove - is excellent proof of that. I've had most of their tacos, and all have been delicious. Notably, they have extensive vegetarian options, which is great. Today, I went all vegetarian and got the veggie taco, a double cheese taco, and a veggie mega burrito. All were excellent, and the rich, gooey cheesiness of the double queso taco made it an instant favorite with me and my mouth. The veggie burrito was also stellar, with great peppers, beans, a perfectly soft rice that ate like vermicelli with a hint of saffron and the cheese melted perfectly along with great warming spices. The tortilla was heated with a bit of char, too - a really nice touch. You can get any of these options as burritos, quesadillas, tacos, salads, tortas, or bowls/platos, so we'll be back soon to try every variant we can. Don't let their fake smile "I don't understand English" fool you. Multiple times they would add tips by themselves without your consent and some other charges on your card. We've been searching for the best Mangonada. The closest spot so far that we found was Munchk Taquria (food truck) thanks to Yelp. It was easy to spot. So far the mangonada was really good. We got the last one they had. The only bad thing was that the mango was a little warm. We figured because it was out and it being the last one I can't give it a 4 star. It was $5.30 with tax. I was very surprised by the amount of items I received when ordering two steak tacos. i didn't wait long at all for my food, very happy about that. I wasn't sure if the tacos were going to have much flavor but I was very satisfied with the flavor and seasoning in the taco and the add ons made them even better. As a misplaced Californian, I am always on the lookout for taqueria. This place nails it! Great flavor on the two tacos I had (carne asada and pollo). The salsa was flavorful and although not as spicy as my SoCal tastebuds would like, you get a half of a grilled jalapeño on the side so you can add heat if you want. Quality tacos and decently priced. I've always driven past this taco truck and wanted to try it. When you walk up there's a big menu on the board with all their food items and they have a really big selection. You can taste that the ingredients were fresh. They included the condiments in the container with your meal - so it's not self serve - but it was a large enough portion for all your tacos. Finally they give you a punch loyalty card so after 6 visits you get a free entree I believe. I can definitely see myself coming back to this place, especially since it's so conveniently located. read more

I ordered the mega burrito and it was probably the best burrito I've ever had the chicken was well cooked, the rice was perfect and everything was a perfect blend. I also ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was a perfect amount of crispy and perfect amount of meat and cheese ratio. My fiancé ordered the tacos and absolutely enjoyed them. I am from Houston TX and miss the proximity of quality taqueria food to me whether it was a sit down restaurant, fast casual, or food truck. I discovered this place on my way to a doctor's appointment and stopped by after for takeout. I ordered a carne asada torta and tacos de pollo.
