Completely disappointed. We were seated in an outdoor area directly next to some sort of mosquito infested standing water that smelled like sewage and the table was dirty. We decided to tell the waitress we wanted our food to go, again very disappointed. The mild sauce on my wife's wings was French dressing the nachos were all in a clump and not edible. We stopped here at about 9:30 on a Friday night on our way home. It wasn't crowded, maybe 10 tables. The inside was like a log cabin bar, reminded us of a dive bar at home, but for the area a log cabin seems appropriate. We were surprised at the outdoor seating that was enclosed with wide open windows and screens. Service was pretty quick. My husband got the appetizer sampler as his meal. For $18, you don't get very much. It was good for but the price didn't match. I ordered a Rueben and it was very good with a good price. 3 stars for the fact that there ain't a whole lot to pick from up this way and it was at least decent, plus the people were very nice and friendly. We got a takeout order of Loaded Fries, which are like cheese and bacon fries, Chicken Marsala, and a French Dip with Au Jus. The fries were the highlight of the dinner. They also reheated well. The roast beef and jus? Not so much. The Marsala was ok; not the worst I've ever had but certainly not the best. The cut of chicken had a nice piece of inedible tendon or something right in the middle which made me not even want to continue, but I worked my way around it. The thing with boneless chicken in any recipe is that it basically has to be perfect from start to finish with no funny business in it. That was kind of a fail. Marsala sauce was alright though. They were nice enough to ask if we were staying in a hotel and provided plates, plastic forks and knives, and a ton of condiments. She said "no one likes to eat out of a box" and that made me smile. I've come to realize that you'd be safest ordering bar food. And they certainly are well-equipped as a bar. The problem was that on a Saturday night the bar was empty besides 3 old men chatting about their lawns and the poor hostess was yawning looking for something to do. I got to chatting with her while waiting for my order and she said that the volume of business is steady but this is about normal for a Saturday. It looked busier on the outskirts of the bar, which is a dining room off to the right and a patio on the left. Again, I can't comment on the rest of the places around here because the other two that were close by basically turned me away so I wound up here by process of elimination. Well we were in Blakeslee and not much here. The lady at our hotel recommended Murphy's Loft . We arrived at 7pm and were seated and waited and waited. Our waitress asked if we had been helped 25 mins. later (menu's still in hand). We gave her our drink order and dinner order. We waited ...waited. I went there for lunch today. I never been, so the nice hostess showed myself and Manda around and what they have going on. I was quite impressed. Big bar and dining inside, then an enclosed glass wall dining on a porch, but wait there's more... outside dining and an outside bar with a pool for folks to swim in. It's mostly all log cabin décor. It's a good looking place, that I'd love to spend a week-end night there. We ate on the porch with ceiling fans to help keep us cool. The food was big ole stuff. The burger was a think slab of angus beef, made the way I asked. It was very yummy. Manda's turkey burger was big too and she liked it. We both loved the fries. Crispy outside and soft inside, perfect with beef gravy. The waitress was very nice, pleasant and handled me perfectly, because I'm always asking for this or that. I'd hate to serve me. Stopped in for lunch I ordered a grilled chicken salad I paid a premium price for a very small salad and and it was awful. I asked for balsamic dressing and got italian, when I ask the waitress for the dressing I ordered she rudely informed me that that's there balsamic, and I don't know about any one else but I don't eat chicken fat, just nasty the cook didn't trim my chicken I never touched the salad And i wasn't offered a discount off my check nor did the waitress ask me if I wanted anything else bad service and food I wouldn't eat here again if I was starving. read more

This place charged me $1.90 extra for raw tomato and onion when the bartender asked if I would like them on my roast beef sandwich... I understand up charge for fries or cooked onion at times but never heard of an up charge for raw onion and tomato especially not nearly $2.00. We rediscovered this place after a long hiatus. As many other reviewers will tell you this area doesn't have much to choose from. However, Murphys loft is decent but certainly not outstanding. It is a bit on the pricey side with an order of wings running over twelve dollars. It is best to stay with the bar food and sandwiches, don't venture into the seafood my wife said, as her flounder was 3 little dried up strips of fish that were definately frozen. The place is nice with an outdoor bar, a small arcade, and it is a real log cabin. Staff and guest are very friendly. read more

I scheduled a bachelor party dinner at this place after playing Skirmish paintball right down the road. We showed up about 30 mins late & they never gave us an issue. Our waitress did a great job of accommodating the 20 of us and kept a level head the whole time. The food was awesome and service was great. Hats off to you guys. We go to Murphy's often and it is a great place. Most awesome atmosphere and good prices. Giving 3 stars because twice now I was served flat beer. That and twice now we had the worst service, some people are not cut out to be servers and the tall guy with glasses is one of them. I am at the point now, if I return at all and he is working I will leave. I'm spending my hard earned money, so he has a job, least he could do is act happy about it He is absolutely miserable, the owner needs to take care of this. read more

We have been coming to Murphy's for at least 10 years. We always order their clam chowder, which is usually very good. We went there 2 days go for lunch. Waited 15 minutes before we saw a waitress. This s not the way it usually is. A customer seated near us called the waitress over to complain that the chowder was corn soup not chowder! Since we came for the chowder we were a little concerned. When the waitress came with our beverages, she told us they were preparing the chowder and it would be a few more minutes. The chowder finally arrived and it was ice cold..not just cold but I've cold. After an hour in the restaurant she served us the heated soup. So disappointing. This was one of our favorites in the area. read more

Went here with my family of 6. Food was just Ok. They forgot to bring my daughters meal (it was a kids meal) and when it finally came we were all done eating. Would have been nice to deduct something from the tab as is customary when the restaurant screws up. Turkey dinner was pretty bad, turkey didn't taste fresh. We come up a few times a year (more through ski season) and we always stop at Murphys. Saturday night we came in and sat at the bar, I looked twice and I was certain the bartender is also a lift person at big boulder ski area and I was right! Her name is Trish and she gives the best service in the bar and on the mountain! We had prime rib and she hooked us up with all the fixings. Very outgoing girl and knows her job well. We overheard her saying she would be serving breakfast the next day so we came in again the next morning and had her for breakfast - again amazing service! So fast with the coffee refills (very important). The prime rib was great, and so was my eggs benedict! Trish is now our favorite and we will be back to see her soon either at Murphys or at Boulder! We've eaten here four times, twice in May 2017 and twice this past weekend. Our food always was at least satisfactory with the fish filet and reuben sandwiches being our favorites. There are local and national craft beers on tap (Susquehanna Brewing Company has a great lemon shandy). Our service this past weekend was excellent with Donna on the dining porch and Trish at the bar. We would recommend this restaurant. read more

I ordered a Patty Melt and fries. The fries tasted old, like they had been cooked and then warmed up when ordered. They had to ask if I wanted the Patty Melt toasted! Patty Melts are supposed to be grilled like a grilled cheese sandwich. Also, the Patty Melt did not have grilled onions on it. Over all, it was a marginal meal. read more

My friend and I went to Murphy's for dinner, we sat outside on the smoking side of the bar area. While we're enjoying our drinks I hear a baby crying rather close by. The women next to us has her few month old baby on the bar counter. Comes to find out the father of the baby is the bartender at the outside bar. The whole time we were there we had a crying baby over our shoulder. Mind you were at the smoking side of the bar, and we can't even enjoy a cigarette with our beer because there is a baby next to us. The women had the baby bouncing on the bar and passing her to other people at the bar. The situation made us feel so uncomfortable that we left soon after our meal. I don't think that a baby would be on the smoking side of a bar.. Or at a bar at all. We definitely won't be going back there anytime soon. read more
