I want to first thank the GM, David, for allowing us a second opportunity at Murphy's, after a very disappointing experience 3 months ago. Service was excellent, just like our visit in November 2025, but our problem back then was with the food quality and taste. This latest visit on Jan 3, 2026 was waaaaaay better! I took a chance and ordered the ribs again (super dry and charred last time in November). I wasn't disappointed. Meat was tender and BBQ sauce was flavorful. There was also a cheeseburger and Filet Mignon ordered in our party, which were both cooked perfectly. The one item that we didn't particularly care for was the Crème Brûlée. Many places I have had this at usually have it made in a 1" shallow dish (which is also the way I make it), so you can have a piece of the crunchy sugar crust with each bite. They made theirs in a 3" deep bowl, which was pretty much vanilla custard after the top crust was gone. All-in-all, a much better dining experience which will make us consider returning in the future. read more

I would not recommend Murphy's Restaurant. It looks nice, but that is where nice ends. The food was dry, boring and tasteless. The server was just ok, she wasn't busy just acted like she had 20 tables when she only had two and then three. Over priced, food was bland and not served right, we waited 40 minutes for a simple, bland lunch. It is far from a high end restaurant with high prices and below standard food. She was training a lovely new server who had only been there for three days, and the two of them together were magnificent. They made us feel so welcomed and cared for. The food was next-level. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The baked mac and cheese? Decadent, cheesy heaven. We were so full (in the best way) that we had to take our dessert home--and even that was delicious. So glad we chose Murphy's to celebrate. We left with full bellies and full hearts. The vibe here is like a fine dining restaurant. They serve prime rib every day. The concierge at the Hassayampa Inn recommended this place. We weren't hungry enough for a large meal, but they had plenty of other options. I got the coconut shrimp and the asparagus appetizer for my meal. The shrimp was just okay. They were not bad, but nothing special. The asparagus was delicious. My wife got the prime rib dip sandwich. This was DELICIOUS. I would highly recommend this sandwich. My wife could only eat half, so I got to eat the other half. It came with the au jus and and creamy horseradish. Our server did a great job and was very attentive. We had friends visiting and drove up to Prescott for a couple days. We spent a lot of time on Whiskey Row but ventured off to Murphy's. Super old place with an amazing ceiling, bar and history. Water and hot bread arrived quickly and our drink orders were taken. Hubs and I both had Bulleit Manhattan's and they were perfect. For dinner I went with Guinness French Onion soup and crab cakes. The soup was phenomenal! I loved my crab cakes but I'm not a huge fan of green bell peppers. Fortunately, there weren't a lot. Hubs and our friend had prime rib and mashed potatoes. Hubs could almost cut it with a fork. They really enjoyed it. Our friends wife had a Cesar salad with blackened chicken. It was huge! She brought more than half back to the condo. Went to Murphy's to celebrate a birthday and we were a little disappointed. Started with drinks and calamari. Drinks were well made and did not disappoint. The calamari was ok. For dinner we ordered a ribeye and the stroganoff. For the price of $50,the ribeye wasn't that flavorful. Could have ordered a topping but that would just add to the cost. Stroganoff was good but nothing spectacular. Ordered cheesecake for dessert and it was good. Service was great and the atmosphere was historical and clean. Overall for the price we have had much better and more options for sides. Probably won't go back. read more

Loved the ambiance here. The restaurant really is beautiful. My husband and l shared the 2 entrees and one appetizer for $45. It was a great deal. We both enjoyed the prime rib for entrees and shared the mac and cheese appetizer. The mac and cheese was probably the prettiest mac and cheese l have seen in decades, if not ever. They use the large shells for the pasta and they were beautiful. I unfortunately didn't enjoy their flavor as much as their presentation, sadly they were a bit bland. But kudos for them making them from scratch and being beautiful! The prime rib was nice. Mine came with rice pilaf and l would choose something else next time. It was also bland and a flavor l didn't care for. The prime rib itself was lovely and the amount for the price was generous. My husband got fries and he enjoyed them. The kids' meals were also nice and my kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets, fruit, and french fries. Our server was Riley and he was very kind. My one complaint was the bar service. My friend ordered a non alcoholic drink and everyone who ordered an alcoholic drink got theirs quickly. She had to ask about 3 times and it finally arrived but it took at least 40 mins, if not longer. It was almost comical with how long it took. But not if you're thirsty. Every time l passed the bar there was no one there nor any customers sitting there. So it didn't look too busy. Sometimes I find the worst service occurs when an establishment is not busy and during off times (rush times seem to be better for customers, but prob not servers and staff). This is Prescott though. So my four star rating is because this area really lacks good eateries. Would l come back for a nice meal here in the future? Yes. Would l come back if this restaurant was located in a more popular area with more high end offerings? Prob not. That being said, l think it's an iconic landmark for Prescott and l would come back in the future. read more

The atmosphere, especially in the bar area, is clubby and reminiscent of a traditional steakhouse, and is decorated with Prescott memorabilia. The service is excellent, especially if you are fortunate enough to have SHAWNA as your server. Murphy's mixes the BEST martini in town, and the appetizers and happy hour menu are wonderful and hearty. The menu is creative and variable, and you will be able to find whatever you are in the move for. Everything is fresh and well-prepared. I highly recommend Murphy's for lunch, dinner, or happy hour.
