Musa did not live up to its expectations. When we arrived, a few minutes before our reservation, we waited for 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. Our table had been ready & set yet we continued to wait while the host(s) were on their phone. Our waitress was very nice, however the experience is not on par with the ambiance and overall vibe that the establishment is trying to accomplish. I ordered the caesar salad appetizer which was very tasty: the dressing and lettuce were both so fresh. The dumpling appetizer was very tasty - the Asian inspired sauce with the plantains were a nice touch. The ribs did not meet expectations- the sauce tasted exactly like the dumplings and we did not taste the guava at all. The gnocchi sauce was good, a creamy white truffle sauce, but the gnocchi themselves were harder than al dente... Overall it was a very mellow vibe, the food was alright.
We came right when the place opened at 10am & I'm so glad we did! We experienced wonderful service & the food was delicious! You can tell they really take their time with their menu. Everything we ordered was great including the drinks. The ambiance was nice, too, & it did get busy while we were there.
Absolutely loved Musa! Have to give a shout out to our wonderful waiter Tomas, he was awesome. This place was a little hidden from where we parked, but they had their own parking close by. We came in for a late dinner and this place was pretty empty, but we did not let this draw us away. The food here was delicious! We had the dumplings de churrasco, empandaillas bistec, camarones al coco, and asaragus. Loved the Puerto Rican twist to the dumplings, literally hadn't tried anything like it before! The camarones de coco were to drool over! The empanadillas were savory. Honestly can't go wrong with anything at this place. It's dimly lit with fun funky aesthetic that makes this place so cool. I'll definitely come back to try a brunch whenever I visit San Juan again!
"No más!" If i wanted to create a caricature of a pretentious version of a Puerto Rican restaurant, this would be it. You'd have better luck walking blindfold down the streets of Old San Juan and walking in anywhere for a better meal What's to jeer - Overpriced - Every dish is either too salty or too sweet/creamy - The "risotto" is so bad, the death penalty in Italy would be extracted for producing this - Service looks labored and understaffed - Do not order the "chewy" tuna tartare, the bland Caesar salad, the cement like Mac and cheese, or the bucatini, or the tostones which are greasy than the godfathers hair - Terrible wine that was corked What's to cheer - Decent spicy margarita cocktail - Bacalao (but it's fresh cod not salted cod)
Came in for lunch after our flight into Puerto Rico. The place is welcoming and the staff was great. Very knowledgeable and attentive. However the food I ordered was not what I expected. I got the NY Strip steak and eggs and my girl got the chicken and waffles. Her plate was great. However I asked mine to be medium rare. It came out seared on the outside and cold and blue on the inside. Had to send it back to be cooked a bit more. It was a bit better but still was disappointed in how it came out. This isn't a knock on the staff at all cause our waitress was great. But my plate wasn't great.
Came here straight from the airport at 10am on time for brunch & bottomless mimosa! ($25 pp) Service was excellent. The waitress, Neyletzi, was amazing and attentive. The food was very delicious and large portions! The appetizer we shared, fried cheese, was not worth it. However, everything was amazing! Definitely a place to brunch!
I can not speak highly enough about this restaurant! Their decor and vibe are just so inviting, hip, and fun! But their MENU?! Unreal. I can only hope they open other locations so more people can experience their food!! They have such an eclectic and diverse menu. They put things together that most people wouldn't even think of. And, WOW, it's all soooo good! Their fresh juices are fantastic. Every single thing we ordered was amazing, so it's hard to just list certain menu items, but their French toast has me literally dreaminggg about going back. You cannot go wrong here! Absolutely must-try! The street it's on is a bit tight and parking can be harder but there's also a paid parking lot just passed the restaurant. It can get busy, so a wait time is to be expected, but it's truly worth the wait. Next time I'm in PR, best believe I'm stopping here MORE THAN ONCE!

Musa was one of my favorite meals in PR! My party of 5 came here for a weekend lunch. We put our name on the waitlist and walked around Calle Cerra for about an hour before we were called back (highly recommend killing time by looking at the murals!). It took a long time to get our food but I think it was worth it. The people in our party got the pork belly risotto, churrasco, and croque madame. First of all, the portions are HUGE. The risotto especially could easily be split between 2 people. All the dishes were bursting with flavor but I think the risotto was my favorite. Our table really enjoyed the truffle fries that came with the croque madame too. I think the drinks looked interesting too, very instagrammable. I would try these if I ever come back! read more

Open day and night from Tuesday through Sunday, but best known for a lively Brunch that goes from 10:00am until 3:00pm, Musa occupies an artistic block of Santurce with Food and Beverage to match. Part of the San Juan dining scene since 2017, Chef Hector Escobar setting up shop with co-owner Yamil Rojas amidst murals lining Cerra Street, it is inside the upscale gastro-pub that guests are invited to dine and imbibe, the already whimsical menu further enhanced by a handful of daily specials. Better-priced than like concepts on Ashford Avenue, with better service than the likes of Wicked Lily, it is after placing an order that eyes are freed to peruse everything from chic paintings to neon, though once plates start to arrive it is difficult to take attention off items such as Arancini made with Puerto Rican Mamposteao or Beef Dumplings marrying Maduros to Asian flavors. Regularly reinventing the menu, though Tres Leches French Toast seems to be a constant for good reason, choosing an Entrée will prove difficult considering the number of unique options, but for this writer's $16 it seems hard to imagine any were more delicious than a Monte Cristo Sandwich loaded with good Pastrami and Swiss Cheese plus a liberal pour of Maple Syrup. read more

My wife and a friend are traveling in Puerto Rico, this is her review of this restaurant: My friend and I met 2 other friends for brunch. We ordered the following dishes: Avocado Toast - Very good! Rellena French Toast 2 of us ordered this) - Delicious!!!! Veggie Omelette- Very good but too many onions. The menu had a good assortment of contemporary dishes. Prices are reasonable. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. The only downside is parking in this area. We were very lucky to find a street space so that we didn't have to pay $6 to park in the lot next to the restaurant. $6 is way too much! read more

This restaurant was by far one of the best parts of my trip to Puerto Rico. The food was absolutely amazing! I wanted to order everything because what my friend and I ordered was just that good. The wait time is a bit long. We waited about 45 minutes to an hour but, it was worth the wait. I suggest calling ahead to see if you can put yourself on the waitlist or get there early. We arrived around 11 am which is standard brunch time so, understandably there was a line. I also recommend ordering the bottle of champagne if you like mimosas. One glass cost $7 oppose to the bottle being $34 (if you split the cost depending on if your with company). We ordered the passion fruit juice to compliment the champagne. It was delicious and refreshing. Overall, I had a great experience and this hidden gem is a must try and a place to go back to for future trips! read more
Amazing spot!!! They didnt take any reservations so we had to wait about 40 minutes in sizzling heat when we showed up at 11am but it was nbd b/c the restaurant is located by the murals and near a small contemporary art museum- plenty of ways to kill time! the actual wait after we were seated was great than 1hr yet I am still giving this place 5 stars because the food is just that good!! Highly recommend the pork belly risotto. The bowl was bigger than my face and definitely more than enough to share with a friend or bring home for another meal. It was absolutely delicious and so so unique for brunch! The croque madame was also very good with the truffle fries. If I ever visit PR again I would def visit musa again!! read more

Came here for brunch. Had a mimosa & coffee to start. They had a variety of coffees. For the meal we had Mongolian hash browns & Cachapa de Ropa Vieja. Both were very good & really large portions. Service was friendly. read more

Amazing amazing amazing! Came here on Friday afternoon and they have a 2 for $20 deal for the weekend. We were a group of three so naturally we order four plates with unlimited natural juice mimosas (+$20pp$) 1. Ropa Vieja Mac & Cheese : BOMB.com, this is a must order. It was one of the creamiest Mac and cheese and amazing fusion of flavors 2. Omelette with stuffed French toast : their omelettes come with a side or pancakes or toast OR for +3 you get a stuffed French toast that is PHENOMENAL. It's stuffed with cream cheese and some kind of jamon and we could not stop eating it 3. Dulce de Leche French Toast : so good, it's perfectly soaked and not too "American sugar" sweet 4. Steak omelet with pancakes: the pancakes were a bit dry. This side is recommended. Eggs were the usual. Last but not least, amazing service. Ok found this place on tik tok.. bomb af. Portion sizes huge, prices super reasonable. They have all these different mimosas flavors (soursop, tamarin, passion fruit, etc) & the juice they use is super fresh. Literally can see some seeds from the passion fruit. All 3 of me & my friends left with Togo boxes and we was all hungry af when we got there ! The food was good af, I got the Mongolian chicken and omgg must try. My bestie got chicken and waffles, chicken big af with some good cheese and plenty of meat packed in the cheese. My other friend got French toast and they cook the bacon and cream cheese inside of it. Fire af! Must try & highly recommend. Bomb servers too! We got kerri I believed her name was! Ouuffff what an amazing meal through and through. From the minute i walked in loved the gastro fusion decor. Dope ambience. The menu was straight to the point and WOW! The rush of flavors in every dish was ah-mayzing no complaints at the table. I glady took home my mac and cheese leftovers and man were they hitting later. Took a large family group here and we were all pleasantly surprised with the food. Sometimes, restaurants in Puerto Rico try to have fine dining but they often miss the mark. This place was definitely fine dining and it exceeded all our expectations. We ordered the milanesa with arroz frito con gandules, the mofongo with Asian pork belly, the mac and cheese, and several drinks. The food was artfully put together and you could tell the quality was top notch. The milanesa was perfectly cooked, leaving the chicken moist, but wrapped in breaded, cheesy goodness. This was on top of a bed of fried rice with gandules. A really nice and savory twist. The mofongo had a long piece of sweet and sour style pork belly laid on top. Really tasty! I can't wait to go back and try another dish. We finished our meal with the bread pudding. This was amazing! It took a little to come up but when we saw it we understood why. It comes in a large baking dish, has pecans, and is topped with two delicious large scoops of vanilla ice cream. We had a group of eight and this was enough to share. Amazing! read more

The food here was phenomenal! The Mongolian Hashbrown comes in a huge bowl and is honestly enough for 2 meals. The crispy hash with the classically Asian sweet/salty chicken with a fried egg and microgreens really hits the spot. After finishing half of the plate, the flavors do become a little one-note and a tad bit on the saltier side just because there's SO much of the chicken, but it is nonetheless still very tasty! The sangria I ordered was also very refreshing. I tried some of my friend's Churrasco and the combination of the Sorullitos de maiz (local corn fritters) with Chimichurri sauce with the savoriness of the churrasco was delicious. However, I wish the service could have matched the been better. They had forgotten my drink order until I reminded them of it a 2nd time, they are pretty inflexible with substitutions from the menu (my vegetarian friend had some trouble with this), and we waited more than 15minutes to receive and pay for our bill, which is frustrating when you have a limited amount of time to explore the rest of the city as a tourist. Ok, so this place is totally worth going to! We were staying in Condado close to the casino and this place is a ~15 min walk from there. It is super cute and the food is really good. We went for brunch and my husband had the Mac & Cheese Ropa Vieja and I had an omelet. Both were delicious but I HIGHLY recommend the Mac &cheese ropa vieja! Make sure you come hungry, the portions are on the larger size but worth the calories imo. Their drinks are also amazing. I had a passion fruit mimosa and my husband had a mojito. Don't skimp, get the alcohol. They make delicious beverages and your not going to regret it The decor is really cool, they have 2 different areas with completely different vibes. read more

This place is a GEM. We came here for brunch and enjoyed the contemporary cuisine at a reasonable price point. There were a lot of locals there, which made me feel like we weren't eating at a completely overhyped tourist restaurant (like many of the places in Old San Juan). We ordered cappucinos, and a couple of items off the brunch menu. I will definitely be coming back. It was hard finding street parking. There is a private lot next to the restaurant for $6 (well worth it). Also, the food took around 40-45 minutes to come out. It was delicious and worth it, but I would recommend coming on a day that you have plenty of time to spare. read more

Yes, yes, yes! Great service, delicious food, awesome branding! Excellent all the way through. Pancakes were huge (and yes, they actually brûlée-ed them!) and very rich but delicious. Everything was plated wonderfully and carefully. Everything about this restaurant was clearly a conscience decision, from the decor to the plating components. Cozy space. We made reservations but did not necessarily need them on a Wednesday afternoon. Beautiful menu with lots to choose from (vegetarian friendly). Great location as well, near museums and a food truck park! Definitely the "art district" of the city. Go here!!! :) read more
We were staying in the Santurce area of San Juan and wanted some breakfast to start off the day. There aren't a ton of spots open early in Puerto Rico but this place was. We personally did not have a wait but quickly after we sat, there were parties waiting for about 10-15 minutes so just be aware. I ordered the chicken waffles as the waiter said it was the best chicken and waffles ever. It definitely did not disappoint! The chicken is more of a cutlet and the waffle was almost like a churro it was so sweet and delicious. The entire plate came coated in béchamel sauce mixed with sliced cubes of ham. Overall, it was very good and honestly you could easily split it amongst two people as the sauce made it very rich. Just be aware that it is not the traditional chicken and waffles you are probably used to! read more

Did my research before my first visit to PR, and this restaurant was a must. They lived up to the hype plus more! The food was creative, flavorful, fresh and delicious. An artsy, eclectic vibe with an intimate atmosphere. I can't wait to go back to San Juan to try more. The tres leche French toast is to die for! Not too sweet, fluffy and awesome. read more

Brunch on a Sunday can be a wait but we ventured to this recommended place and hoped for the best. The staff was very sweet they served us coffee while we waited to hopefully get a table for 6. Sure enough we had a table in a few. I honestly would of waited an hour for this food as it was so amazing. The flavors are a combination of breakfast and Latin flared food. The coffee was amazing. However what was to come was even better. The mimosas were delicious we tried orange and palcha. Next the queso fundido was so delicious. The ropa vieja omelette was packed with flavor. The steak and fried corn was flavorful and abundant. We shared a few plates because we wanted to try more. The French toast was amazing . There is honestly nothing on this menu I would not try. If you are lucky enough to get a table this is a must try place. read more

The food, excellent! Good service and a nice place to stop for brunch for family or adults. My only regret in stopping for brunch, I didn't get the crème brûlée pancakes! My wife had he Mongolian chicken hash browns, super tasty and I'd get again. I got the cachapa de ropa vieja, meat was tender but not as much flavor as the Mongolian chicken. But we would definitely go back for brunch or dinner read more
I was really excited about going to Musa and got lured in with pictures of their Ropa Vieja Mac and cheese (which was the best thing we ate) but the visit was a bit of a disappointment. We were able to call and get a reservation the night of so they definitely get points for that. When we got there we had to wait a bit until our table was ready. Their service is slow so they are not turning over tables quickly enough. Once seated we had to wait a while before a server took our order and then waited a while for our food. The decor needs an upgrade. The tables and chairs are cheap looking. There were wires hanging from the AC unit and a broken socket cover was right next to our table. For the food: - The Ropa Vieja Mac and cheese was the best dish we had. It looks like all of the pictures and is cheesey and yummy. - We also got these skewers that looked like chicken but was actually fish and that was weird. They tasted fine but not amazing. - The ceviche was really a let down. The pieces of fish were really big tough cubes. They were in a milky sauce. On top was also a dollop of paste that I think was white bean, not sure why that was added. - My husband has the rice and beans croquets and said he liked them. The portion sizes are also too large. It's supposed to be tapas but each dish was entree sized which might be fine if you're in a large group but it was only two of us and ended up being way too much food. It's 3 for me... read more
We came to Puerto Rico for five days and came here THREE times. Their bottomless mimosas are TRULY bottomless Monday- Sunday (NO DINNER SERVICE ON SUNDAY & MONDAY). It was such a nice brunch. The food is amazing. I love the mac and cheese! So sweet and creamy! It was my favorite. The mallorca benedicto is okay. It was my least favorite meal of all. The pancake brulee is soo good. I love it. The french toast rellena was good as well. The bacon in the french toast taste better than expected. The Mongolian hashbrown is super good too. Service was okay but it seem like they were short staffed. read more

Foods were great. Service was fast. The mojito drink had too much mint and kiwi pulp to drink but tasted good. Unfortunately a party there was extremely loud but I guess we were just unlucky to be there at the time. read more

This restaurant is AMAZING! The food was delicious and they give a nice portion of food. I went with my girlfriend on a Friday for brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and bottomless mimosas. I highly recommend it. read more

Our first stop in Puerto Rico and it could not have been better. We went for brunch, just as they were opening and there was no wait. They were welcoming & ready to serve. Our server was wonderful, I wish I could recall his name. We started with a simple cappuccino and we're supposed to see how nicely it was presented. Not to mention it taste AMAZING. It's was so smooth! The menu was impressive. All of the items sounded great and it was hard to choose. I honestly don't think we could have chosen wrong. My dish was phenomenal. There was depth of flavor and the pork belly, omggg. I wouldn't skip this place. We'll likely return before leaving. read more
