This is a total, all around 5 star place for the delicious food, excellent service, ambiance and decor. Loved it all. It's an experience, not just a meal. Every dish had its own unique flavorful blend of slices, this includes the pudding type of dessert with mushroom shaped cookie stuff on top. Yummo!! read more

It's hard to decide which is the best aspect of the restaurant. Ambiance is unparalleled as is the service and the food. This is not a meal but rather an experience! This is the first time I went without my Indian friends. Robin was an excellent waitress and guided us with such insight and knowledge. As much as we needed but didn't pressure or rush us in any way. A perfect experience really. Highly recommend. read more

Staying at the Westin Galleria, my boyfriend and I decided to swing by here early on a Friday to grab a drink and a snack. This place is intricate and beautiful. The ambiance alone adds immensely to the experience of dining here. We did not have a full meal, but the bar experience was awesome. Our drinks were unique, and the bartenders were great at helping us chose our cocktails. The masala fries were spicy and incredibly flavorful, but also much more creative than similar fusion dishes I've had before. There are many vegan options on the menu, making this a great spot for a group with varying dietary restrictions. Our little date night here was a great time! read more

Come here for the gorgeous decor and be ready to transported to an exotic modern Indian restaurant! This place is seriously the coolest Indian restaurant I've ever been to! The food is delicious (I will say it doesn't taste like typical Indian food and may look completely different than what you are use to, but the flavors are just something else). The chef is literally a genius with all the creative presentations and mixing cuisines from all over in India with his own twist in it! I enjoyed every dish I had so no complaints there. Make sure to ask for chai since it's not on on the menu. It's sooo goood. You'll thank me later. Don't forget to make reservations ahead of time because this place gets packed!!! A friend of mine was really excited to go here so we went for their birthday. I figured when coming to a place like this you might as well do the tasting menu. The journey through India via my taste buds was a wonderful experience. Almost all of the dishes were fun and exciting to try. Our server Filip was awesome! The place is beautiful and has great ambience. What kept this place from being five stars was the reservation/host interaction. I was annoyed that the first thing the host said was that we were late for our reservation but they will make it work since they are slow. The place was nearly empty... I didn't need a snarky remark. I was already personally annoyed that we were running late. Then despite coming in person to make a reservation, explaining where I wanted to sit and that we were doing the tasting menu. We were directed to a different table and handed menus. They moved us to the room I originally asked for, but then we were treated to a view of the kitchen door despite the place being mostly empty. I had a vision of being treated better knowing I was spending over $150 a person. Filip really made this a redeeming experience, without him being just awesome I probably wouldn't even consider coming back. read more

First off, the interior of this place is GORGEOUS and so well decorated! Everything seems to have been intricately crafted and placed perfectly, giving each room a different vibe. Honestly for a place this fancy, the prices weren't nearly as bad as other upscale Indian restaurants in Houston! The service was fantastic, everyone was extremely kind and encouraged you to go check out each of the rooms while you wait on your food/drinks! Pani puri: the different flavors of pani made this dish even more enjoyable! The puri itself was so fresh and authentic tasting. Each combination was packed with so much flavor, we absolutely loved it and even drank all the remaining pani. Must tryyyy Dal makhani and garlic naan: didn't think this was anything super special. Could use a little more spice but was very creamy and the texture was perfect. The naan was fluffy and made fresh. Chaanp: the meat was cooked insanely well, literally melted in your mouth. You can appreciate this dish if you like subtle flavors like the beetroot dust adds an ever so slight sweetness and the side of crème fresh makes it a bit creamy. Biryani: they gave a huge portion and we even had leftovers with 3 of us sharing all these dishes. Bang for your buck but not the best biryani I've had in the area. Mango colada: the presentation on this was adorable. Served in a little coconut with coconut shavings on top. The drink itself was super creamy and not too sweet. It is coconut heavy so if you're not a fan then maybe try the mango cooler instead:) read more

We came to Musaafer for a birthday dinner, wanting to try the tasting menu. Unfortunately we didn't know you have to book that head of time. However, our waiter Justin suggested that we allow him to give us his version of a tasting menu, trusting him to make all of our choices. We are SO glad we did. Justin gave us a great overview of the menu, choosing things that we would not have ourselves. Every item that came to our table was explained, and we could see the care and intention put behind each dish. We were blown away by the food and the service, and would recommend Musaafer to anyone who wants to step outside of their usual Indian food and try something more elevated. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful! You step in and immediately feel transported. Decor and rooms were stunning. There were various nooks around the restaurant and bar area so it was fun to walk around. The do check your temp and offer hand sanitizer at entry. I saw another sanitizer station outside the bathrooms, which were very clean and being attended to frequently. Drinks were good, not fabulous. The turmeric vodka drink was good, but would have preferred it up not over ice. Cosmopolitan was way too sweet and served in a tiny glass. Espresso martini was good but tiny. Drink service was excruciatingly slow. They would have gotten more revenue if they'd taken our drink orders regularly and not made us wait 10 minutes for a cocktail. That was disappointing. Food was very enjoyable. They had a new winter menu. I should have documented and photographed all I tried. My favorites were the naan, sea bass curry, saag paneer and the onion appetizer. There was something with star fruit that was also very tasty. A lot of the dishes on the menu looked really appealing. I'd like to go back to try them and the happy hour sounds enticing too. This would have been a five star review if the drink service and overall service had been more timely and attentive, especially considering our visit was for a special occasion on a Monday evening. read more

We ordered the tasting menu (13 courses for us) and we really liked 11 out of the 13 courses. The food presentations were fun, and the staff and our server (JP) were very attentive and informative of the ingredients on the menu. The ambiance and the vibe of the restaurant is classy, intimate, and romantic. The overall experience is wonderful and a must try for anyone wanting to try a great Indian (some fusion) fine dining experience. read more

No wonder Musaafer won the Michelin star in 2024. Their drinks, starters and desserts are some of the best I have experienced. Lychee ceviche was absolutely tantalizing n not to be missed. The beautifully crusted appetizer was reminds you of savory croissant with Indian twist. Gulab jamun dessert stole the show and should be crowned dessert of the year. The story that the servers tell to describe the dish raises the anticipation. Was not impressed by their daal, aloo methi and cucumber wada. When looking up things to do in Houston, Musaafer was on a list of cool bathrooms, not only is that true but this restaurants entire ambiance is stellar. The restaurant offers reservations, which I don't not believe is required. The menu has plenty of options, with more of a catering to meat options. I choose Musaafer for classy birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. It it was suggested that appetizers and entrees are shareable. I will say the appetizers are not, but definitely the entrées are. I love their twist of the tikka curry. The entrée came with a traditional style tikka curry and a modern version and honestly I couldn't choose which of the two o enjoyed more. Their drinks are both beautifully and delicious. I've had the best amaretto sours here! At first glance I was concerned for the taste based because the color was more of the light side of this, but after my first sip I quickly realize all the other amaretto sours I've had were not on Musaafer's level. I love Musaafer! Every visit I've had here I've enjoyed everything we tried and keep coming back for more. It's great for dates, large group dining, and even solo at the bar. The vibe is chic and sexy they also have a DJ providing groovy tunes. I really love their espresso martinis it's one of my favorites! We got pretty full sharing appetizers that we haven't tried any entrees which will be on my next visit. The seafood curry is calling my name. We ordered the seekh kebab and the kerala beef fry as appetizers. The kebab was a bit dry, and the minced meat texture reminded me of meatloaf. The kerala beef fry on the other hand, stirred in yogurt and coconut chunks and served on pan leaves was mind blowing. For our main courses we ordered mandelorian chicken as well as the lamb risala. The lamb was sous vide and literally fell off of the bone in a creamy tumeric and coconut curry. Ok first time. Impressive. Gray service start to finish. Food was out of this world. From all parts of India. Great wine list only thing I'd say is they should expand the by the glass options. I highly suggest the masala chai with adding in chai liquor that was out of this word. The place was spotless. Eric knew the food and menu inside and out. Great fine dining option for Indian food. I went there for my birthday and I was very impressed. The food is creative and very very delicious. I ordered the lal Maas, butter chicken, naan and kebabs, and everything was delicious. I had the gulab for dessert and it was so well presented. I highly recommend this option. The service was top notch. They even gave me a card for my birthday, which I thought was really sweet. The decor is very well thought out and executed. Parking was a bit of a challenge when I visited and I had to use the valet, but it's inside a busy mall, so I think they get pretty packed in the weekends. I've been wanting to try this place for over a year. Authentic and very fresh food, however, very overpriced. I'd come again for a business meal or happy hour but one vegetarian entree (no sides) can cost you easily over $25 - NOT INCLUDING naan or rice. Service is slow I might add. The couple next time had already been there at least 2 hours and were still waiting on courses (apparently a busy lunch rush). All in all, the ambiance, seating, decor is above par and it's an excellent vibe. I didn't get the drinks I ordered or my dessert however the restaurant was definitely upscale and beautiful. read more

Musaafer is a stunning restaurant with impeccable interior design and excellent service. The restaurant is quite large with a beautiful bar and plenty of table space. They must've used an acoustic engineer because the noise levels are incredibly well managed despite the size and number of customers. The food and drink on offer is definitely high quality though one dish was a disappointment- the Komri Vade was quite dry and boring. I honestly should've returned it but didn't want to cause a fuss. It's possible this was a one off but I seemed to be the only one at the table who struck out. I had the chance to taste the other dishes ordered by my friends and they were all impressive! The Butter Chicken Experience was exceptional as was the Miso Cod. Musaafer is a bit pricey but reasonable enough given the overall quality and experience. read more

Very good Mithu 's Coriander Prawn and Paneer Rizala (I could just dip the sauce with naan all day!) the Beef Vindaloo was a bit of a letdown, it's more like a mole than a vindaloo. Went with girlfriends for restraunt week. The puri puri was a fun appetizer. The salmon puri was delicious. Surprisingly my favorite was the homemade saag paneer. The paneer was so much better than any paneer I've ever had. I tried the chicken, goat, and fish, but they were all pretty similar in spice and flavor. Good food, great location, nice staff, neat ambiance, but a little pricy. Since this place opened up during COVID, they have not gotten so much attention from the Houston crowd. They do have a really neat ambience. I got a take out and their staff was very polite and helpful too. Growing up in India, I like to believe that my taste buds have a good understanding of the authenticity of Indian food. This place comes really close to that. I'd arguably say this is one of the better places for Indian food in the whole of Houston. Yet I believe their menu is a little pricey for the audience. Our waitress, Sarah was awesome. I cant remember our other servers name but he was awesome as well. They both gave history on each dish that we ordered from the Houston Restaurant Week menu. Reservations are strongly recommended, otherwise you will be on the wait list or have to opt for the bar area if available. I wish we had a table inside because it was very hot on the patio area. Our reservation was for 830p and we didnt receive our appetizer until 930p The decor is very cool and interesting with lots of Indian decor. The seating inside and outside is very relaxing and the ambiance was to die for. Their drink menu is extensive compared to the food menu but thats normal for what I see. The staff are very nice, professional and hospitable. If you have a huge appetite and are looking for bigger portions, this isnt the place for you. Sarah also offered us complimentary birthday champagne. I would definitely come back but reserve for inside when its sweltering outdoors OR wait until it cools off; which is whenever Houston decides. 4.0/5 read more

Then you get your drink order from one of the many pleasant bartenders (or Louie) and sit either inside or outside and think to yourself you're the luckiest person in the world. So they specialize in three things: cocktails/liquors, cigars, and patio seating. When you combine all three of those, it's the perfect bar. Cocktails such as ol fashions and cape cods are plentiful here. I also appreciate they do a new york sour here which is an underrated cocktail. Cigars are sold here too and they have cutters and plenty of torch lighters to spark them up. Outside on their patio deck has plenty of seating with some of those heaters in case you houstonians can't handle the cold. Only gripe is I wish they had a larger wine selection as they only have bordeuax or a red blend. Not sure if they serve white wines either. But there's wine bars for that. You're here for the hard stuff or a quick beer, maybe a cigar, and definitely a peace of mind. That's what keeps me coming back!

Then topped off with a little PB&J cookie. The second drink was some Peach drink- I forgot the name- but it was also a whiskey drink topped with a peach gummy candy. The drinks sound sweet but they are perfectly balanced. Everything was perfect, we'll be back for round 2 soon.

The dough was fresh and delicious, light, and airy, and I just couldn't stop eating it. Some of our other friends ordered a pizza and the arancetti, and both of those were good as well. The pizza, whatever they're doing with their dough just works! IT was super tasty, quite big servings, and easy to share with 2-3 people. As we were wrapping oup our meal, since it is World Cup, they pulled out a huge tv to turn on, so that was fun to watch the game, eat, and feel like we were having an italian style meal. This review is about Houston Musaafer location We went yesterday for dinner with a party of six. It was a totally disappointing experience. A restaurant with this price point should do better. The service was almost non-existent. I had to seek out the service staff multiple times to get any service. Service was so slow. The food arrived late, cold and in spurts with entrees many minutes apart. They forgot one ordered item and we had to ask, and they brought it at the end when we were almost finished. One entree which they did not forget also arrived when we were almost finished. It all seemed like a joke, when you look at the very poor service and food quality and compare with very high menu prices!! For example, the Daal came in a heavy container but sparse in quantity that was scraping the bottom. Cold serving. The ice cream I ordered came in two scoops, each scoop measuring about a little more than half inch!! Again, the quantity was a joke. I am not sure if microscopic quantity makes it gourmet and high end in their mind. Maybe I am not that bright, but to me, it looks like fleecing. The Naans were non-authentic and very poor quality. They tried to make some desert and called it Rasmalai. The dinner took four hours to complete due to almost non-existent service. The food, service quality, overall deserves no praise, and one should think twice before spending this kind of money for the terrible experience. This was my first time at Musaafer and we just could be but blown away. We were greeted by a courteous "Namaste" to careful Covid precautions by taking temperatures (they have a sign that if you are over 104.2 then please don't come), to sanitizing hands, wearing of masks and providing new envelopes to store them on. I have lived in India for many years so know the cuisine very well, can tell you that their dishes are NOT what you get at the regular "desi" restaurants. None of the overly spiced and oily stuff. The mushroom eclairs are a must for starters, lamp chaanps not to be missed. For the main course their beef, mushroom rice and "Nali Nihari" were super. We also had the butter chicken experience and can say it was the best I have had been travelled extensively all over north India. Desserts were a delight so were the carefully crafted cocktails. The food - Exquisite - not only were the ingredients fresh, the taste authentic, the presentation would match a Michelin star quality French restaurant. If you're a mushroom lover - do try the "mushroom galauti eclair", and if you're a meat lover - the "chaanp" (delicately marinated lamp chops flambéed table side) is to write home about! A couple of friends in our group were vegetarian, they had as many if not more options than the carnivores in the group. The cocktails were experiences in themselves - highly recommend the Zaffran for gin lovers, and the espresso martini as an after dinner drink. We had not dined out at all during COVID as a personal choice due to health and safety concerns but decided to step out and celebrate with our teens. And it was the best decision we made! The ambiance, the decor, the service, the presentation, the drinks AND the food: all five star!! All the dishes we tried were spectacular. Chops, prawns, butter chicken, okra and cauliflower topped our family's favorite. The server did a fabulous job of explaining the preparation of all the dishes and the owners and the pastry chef stopped by to chat with us. Fantastic. The turbot dish was also outstanding along with the lamb. My favorite dish of the night was probably the Wagyu, mostly because it came with a small side of the tastiest beans I've ever had. Very unexpected. The meat was melt in your mouth with an excellent sauce, but those beans - amazing. They presented two desserts and both were good, but the savory side of the menu is what made the day. The two desserts ended up making it 8 courses plus the bar snacks whereas they advertised a 7 course menu. Perhaps one of the desserts was supposed to be a palate cleanser. Whatever it was, there is no reason to complain when served more than you bargained for. Can't wait until the Portugal Menu comes out. Way to keep up the good work March - Here's to you hopefully getting that second star!!

Admittedly, this is not an inexpensive experience but so worth it. The experience starts before you arrive with outreach from the team that signaled how things were going to go. Flowers at the table? Pre-order wine? Special occasion? Certainly white glove service. Upon arrival you are seated in the Lounge for a drink and Amuse bouche x 4. Each a great starter. The Sommelier comes by to see if you want the pairing or prefer something else. In our case, we ordered a bottle of red (Barolo) and white (Albariño). Then we are seated in the intimate dining room where the magic begins. Over seven courses and 2.5 hours we are brought through a Mediterranean journey, expertly designed to take us through the current season - Espana Verde. To explain the menu wouldn't be fair. However, there was a sashimi tuna course; salad course with bread, olives, sardines, some kind of spread with pickled vegetables and we added a supplement of caviar and baby Spanish eels; lamb was expertly cooked and tender; Wagyu was exactly what you want it to be; and desserts were great. So good! Service was excellent, unobtrusive yet there when you needed. Wonderful! Can't wait to return.

The biryani tasted good, the butter chicken tasted good, and the deviled eggs were interesting. The serving sizes aren't worth the price. The butter chicken container was about half full and the biryani just over half. To put it in perspective, there were only two pieces of chicken in the biryani, with the rest of the space filled by a single potato, and the butter chicken had just a handful of pieces. I'm not sure if this is because I'm used to traditional Indian restaurants and this is clearly a fusion place, but the standard expectation is a full container. The bigger issues, though, are these: the naan is a standard frozen variety that is fairly small and you can find at most Indian grocery stores, so charging $3 for a single piece feels excessive. We also found hair in our food. Service was good, though everything we ordered was to-go rather than dine-in. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and I would not go back.

This place didn't disappoint and it is a must visit.
