I had heard about how great this place was and was super skeptical...deli food doesn't typically ellicite excitement in me and if someone does say the deli is great it's typically delicious fried foods. I was pleasantly shocked upon my trip in with my coworker who told me it was legit. The deli food is cooked by chefs, everyday the hot deli bar consists of different world cuisine each day; when I was there the theme was Italian. You can also get a box dinner which is no joke, you can choose prime rib, brisket, and other meats they rotate out which are gorgeous and delicious and come with a choice of two sides. They have a great variety of healthy food and for any Paleo enthusiasts they also sell grass fed meats! Yes, it's on the pricier side but you get what you pay for and you won't be disappointed. Came here to buy water. Had to leave and go to another store. All of their water is in plastic bottles (except for overpriced Voss water). The store is not bad, just limited selection. One of my favorite places arts of Kendal Yards-My Fresh Basket. This unique grocery story has just what everyone needs. If you are a cookie fan stop by their bakery and get yourself one of the best cookies WARM and fresh. I will literally drive to MFB just for one of those delicious cookies. Stroll on over to the gourmet foods counter and you'll have some big choices to make. Do you want lasagna or one of those fabulous salads. The fruit and vegetables selection are fun and eye catching as well. If you round the corner to the olive bar and cheese area you'll have lots of choices to make. Then mosey on down the "regular " aisles and see all the choices you have there-good food great prices. Next you'll fun the wine, beer,and liquor area where you'll be amazed at the options. A terrific addition to Spokane, a nice facility with many items available that would be hard, if not impossible to find elsewhere in town. I understand the need to pay a premium for such things particularly if they are uniqje, organic, locally sourced etc. I would go back if looking for such things. I would not however go for anything that I could find anywhere else. The same items are, as Angii reviewed earlier, 20% - 25% higher than standard pricing and often more if those items are on sale at "normal" grocery stores. This in contradiction to the stores response to Angii claiming they are price competitive. A prepackaged block of upscale sharp cheddar for example, available all over town at $6.99, is $8.49. That exact item was on sale the day we visited Fresh Basket at Rosauer's for $4.99. I know because we went there after Fresh Basket to buy staples and even some organic produce Kudos on the facilty and concept but if you're looking for an affordable everyday shopping experience, you won't find it here. read more

Super disappointed in my experience this evening but it has been building up. So I called at 7:55pm to determine what time they close - if it was 8pm I wasn't going and if it was 9pm I was. I arrived at 8:05pm looking to purchase a dozen of the individually packaged macarons. Nobody would assist me; I finally asked and was told 'oh they're closed.' (???) I have been here several times in the last month and each time employees that are anywhere near the checkout act like they are miserable to be there - no smiling going on, flippant when asked for help w/in the store and soooo unhelpful with the whole self-checkout thing. If employees don't want to work there during the covid-19 situation send them home or close. read more

I work right next door to it so I find myself "accidentally" forgetting my lunch a few times a week so I can have an excuse to grab some from here! The salad bar is ahhhh-mazing, so many items to choose from. Bought seafood from here too that was great. Pretty much everything I've gotten from here rocks. The flowers are fresh, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. They have a hot bar for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a salad bar, ready made salads, a deli, a bakery with delicious treats... and kombucha on tap!!! Holllaaarrrr!! Great wine selection. I've only been here a few times but this store is always striving to improve and offers classes to the community as well. This is hands down one of the cleanest and well kept stores I've been in, which is worth paying a little more for what they offer. The daily rotating hot bar is impressive, and I'm glad I don't live closer because I'm sure I'd be ditching my own dinner plans for the convenience. The meat and seafood counter is impeccable. Personally I've worked in that department in another store and know how much of a pain it can be to make everything look pretty so I really appreciate the effort put into it. The poke bar is the shining star for me. I had it for the first time two days ago and was in heaven! I tried 4 different flavors of ahi and all were great. The rice was surprisingly good too! I almost skipped it to just make my own but I'm glad I didn't. There's also a growler fill station, tons of seating to eat at, and enough parking to accommodate everyone. I am a fan of breakfast, it's my favorite meal. I also hear it is the most important meal of the day. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, or what your favorite meal is "My Fresh Basket" has you covered. This was my first time there, after hearing a few different times about it. Very nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. Everyone that walked by me said hi. I was meeting a friend there after work for a quick bite. We sat there visiting for over an hour. I got the breakfast bar. The food was great. Super great. Best breakfast I've had in a while. However, it was pretty expensive. I'm still trying to decide if it was worth it. But, it's probably my fault. Being as it was my first time I kind of tried to sample what they had; but I sampled too much. Just my breakfast alone was $21. I about chocked. But it was very good. There is also a grocery store but I didn't walk around to see what all was there. Again, I'll do that soon. There is however plenty of places to sit. Plenty of tables and even outside seating. The one thing I will say is this there is plenty of parking and it's convenient. Not bad for being down town. I didn't do much touring or walking around but there seemed to be a lot of things to do around there. I'm going to have to go back and scope it out more. I am new to the area. There is a bike/running path that seemed like a great place to run or bike or even walk. But like I said I'll have to just go look around more. read more

This place on the corner of Monroe and Summit serves quite a few apartments and businesses around the area. It reminds me of like a Trader Joe or Whole Foods, but their local. Every time we're in the area visiting we always stop in, because it's convenient, clean, and the staff is really friendly. They have everything a regular grocery store would have. Their produce section looks really fresh. They have a hot deli and a bakery. What I usually get here is the alcohol, they have the beer section arranged by state, which is really cool (support local and the region) They have a pretty big wine and refrigerated alcohol section. Being close to downtown, the cliente is probably the same you would see at Whole Foods, thats my feel every time I walk in there. They even have a upper level terrace that overlooks the Spokane River, where you can eat or have your afternoon latte while you read your book. Or a place to catch up with some friends. I eat at home 99% of the time because food safety standards are just not always upheld. I know, I've seen it more often than you want to know since I work in the food service industry. I had a long day at work and needed some groceries to prepare a meal at home, but I was hungry and as I walked by their "hot bar" aka, Food Poison Buffet, I made the mistake for the second and final time since they've opened to get something quick to eat. I guess I have a short memory, I knew there was a reason I was there for groceries, not the hot bar food. Hmmm...what was it again? Well, I got suckered and picked up some overpriced prepared food with a side of food poisoning. I decide to do the responsible thing and call the store to warn them. To add insult to feeling like crap, my stomach wanting to explode from the inside, shaking and waiting for the next bout of stomach cramps. I was put thru the ringer having to explain this THREE times to THREE separate people. The third was the store director who decided she had to question my integrity saying not once but several times (as if I didn't hear her ignorance and insult the first time), ..."Well, no one else has called today." ARE YOU KIDDING ME, first off, that's obviously a very green manager that would say something so insulting and ignorant. Doesn't she realize that not everyone will call, some people don't figure it out, they may have eaten out several places in the course of 24 hours. Second thing she says, "we just had an inspection." AND YOUR POINT IS? Listen up manager Green, just having an inspection doesn't mean the inspector has seen everything made from beginning to end, staff that are not conscientious have no problem leaving things out too long, serving food that should have been discarded etc. But I've always known them to lack in any real customer service skills, so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. This "market" is closest to me but I won't do my regular shopping there for many reasons, I treat them more like a 7/11 upgrade, if I need milk, bananas, eggs, I may stop there. Great selection of fresh foods including salad/soup/hot bar (priced by weight), sushi, coffee bar, baked goods, and even a Poke bar. I haven't seen a Poke bar in a supermarket outside of Hawaii, so that is a nice surprise. Aside from the fresh/take-out/eat-in offerings, it is a solid grocery store with higher-end ($$$) items like a Whole Foods, but also stuff for regular folks that you might find in other mid-range groceries. The friendly staff and upstairs eating section (with outside deck) add the the enjoyable experience. I would go all 5 star review on it, but we were disappointed by some inconsistency in the hot foods bar on subsequent visits. The store is only opened a few months ago, so I think they are still trying to get their formula perfected. I was very excited when i learned of this place but was quickly disillusioned. Its extremely overpriced and doesnt really offer much you can't get good for a better price elsewhere. The staff was rude and wrong but wouldn't acknowledge they could be making a mistake and it made me cringe to see them choose to throw food away rather than sell it as it was advertised. Just stopped by today. First thing I noticed is that the shopping carts are so nice for kids. The seat belt pulls out from a line and hooks to the cart so it fits the child snug. This for a parent is so nice. Good service...I felt welcome when I walked in. I love the selection of conventional food items along with organic selection. Nice grocery store in Kendall Yards. However I don't recommend going there quite yet; they still have some kinks to work out. I was over charged for a sale item that I noticed prior to the cashier ringing me up. When I got outside I reviewed my receipt a little closer and saw an item that rung up as "test" for $2. I don't know about you, but I do not like paying any amount of money for a nonexistent item. I went back in to notify them of this so that they were aware in case it happened to others. After some questioning they gave me my $2 back. Overall, great price on their meat and produce deals. I don't live close so I probably won't be back for a few months; I'll give them time to figure out their new store. read more

I love this place. It is conveniently located with ample parking. Unless you need to buy clothes you can come here at get all your grocery needs in one central spot. They carry everything from generic brand foods, processed, high end, local, organic, gluten free, etc...... you can find anything from agar agar, live lobster, frog legs, alligator meat, cheese curds, to local made spice blends, and local soap bars. You can get lunch at their salad bar or hot bar, pickup a sandwich or snack on their fresh olive bar. WHOLLLLYY CHEESES, there are so many to chose from but, if you are lost in translation with all the flavors, the staff behind the deli is always willing to answer any questions you may have. Actually everyone that works there is willing to help you in answering the questions you have. Grab your husbands hand and take him to the wine and beer section so his ass can just sit down and drink something while you are shopping peacefully and not worrying about telling him how much you spent. They have outdoor seating, upstairs seating/patio as well so that you can enjoy a dessert or eat your lunch. I believe they do help you hold meetings upstairs or small events. Is it allowed to drink your wine and eat your lunch on the top balcony area???? Because i sure did, they have a beer and wine location as well as a quick pick me up coffee stand. BAKLAVA?? My advice to shoppers is to watch carefully, and make sure your items ring up as marked. My Fresh Basket is organized so upon entry you can view the fresh produce in brightly lite displays that showcase the quality and large variety of fruits and vegetables available. There is a roasted coffee area that beckons those wanting freshly roasted coffee and a deli section with prepared fresh sandwiches and a variety of sides. The store is very spacoius and well laid out with reasonably priced goods and fantastic variety. I think for example there were about 8 varities of Annies brand salad dressing. The items stocked are quality brands and the price compares with regular grocery stores and many items are better priced then a local South Hill Store that is frequented by local health food fans. The variety and the quality of products make shopping fun and sometimes make purchasing decisions more difficult as there is such an abundance that shoppers must have restraint in limiting what they purchase as there are so many products to want to try on a whim. The ice cream selection for example is amazing and it may be difficult to make choices. They also had butternut squash ravaoli which is a family favoite no longer carried by other food stores and we had been searching for that for several months in several other supermarkets. Their beer selection is also wonderful. This store has brought a much needed grocery provider to this area of Spokane and even residents from other areas of Spokane benefit. Also when we were there the customer service was great. Aisles are uncluttered and there is great access without the typical crappy displays of low quality junkie stuff that typical supermarkets display. Supermarkets in Spokane could learned much from My Fresh Basket about displaying quality products and eliminating the displays that make pushing shopping carts through the aisles annoying. Plus shopping at My Fresh Basket will allow for making healthier choices as the items displayed make customers realize how pathetic many other stores are in promotion of products that are unhealthy choices that are not even as delicious the choices they will see here and at a very affordable price. read more

Phenomenal selection of seafood and poke for Spokane! Phil in the meat section let us sample his poke bar which was a dream come true for us since finding good fish, let alone a poke bar this far inland is a bit of a pipe dream. Unlike Fred Meyer which gets their poke shipped in frozen boxes from Pacific Seafood (they irradiate their fish), everything here was made from the same Ahi that's being sold in the cold cases. Live crabs, fresh oysters, exotic meats (alligator!) and other crustaceans were all to be found here when we went in. We decided just to check this place out on a whim based off positive recommendations and the experience was great. Eating off their balcony with our daughter and seeing a food cooking class in their upstairs classroom certainly makes us want to come back! However I do agree with another poster that there should've been better vegan options as the salad bad (great salad bar btw) didn't have vegan ranch or like dressings such as Huckleberries, Natural Grocers, or Pilgrim's out in Coeur d'Alene has, which is something we automatically assumed would be here considering how many similar items Fresh Basket shares with comparable health food stores. There are also some products that felt very out of place, like disgusting Albertsons-like doughnuts with fruit loops on top, Hershey and Reese's cakes, and other corn syrupy sweets/preservative-laden conventional branded food on a few of the aisles. While this store has the feel, layout, and good selection of something akin to a Whole Foods, my wife and I both felt some of these products should be dropped to make room for all the great independent food companies making 'semi-healthier' alternatives now. There's no shortage of stores shelling out cheap junk food; leave the Twix bars to Rosauers and showcase more quality confections like the Paleo/dairy-free Honey Mama bars in the refrigerated section (a great find). They're even made with real vanilla - an unfortunately expensive ingredient in 2017/18, but indicative that this small company cares. Not trying to sound like a snob, just when we go to a sweet store such as this, we come with the mindset that we're alright spending more money finding unique things to eat with better ingrediants, and of course, made by companies that care (not hard anymore) The food landscape is so radically different than it was just 10 years ago. In the same way as almost every Western-American community now has a dizzying array of locally sourced smaller beer breweries, or meticulously-crafted hot and cold brewed coffee roasters, or even cannabis cooperatives that vary dramatically based on which region they're grown and harvested in, there is currently a ridiculous number of smaller companies making all sorts of interesting products we would love to try and support if given the opportunity to. The fact that many of these things are made by people passionate about their work, not-owned by companies that crush creativity and local economies, and even ethical in the way they treat both the planet and their workforce (Wild Planet) is just the cherry-on-top to be "picky" about what we eat. We toured the Spokane Falls earlier and had to walk by My Fresh Market to get to our car parked in an area next to the Spokane River. A Spokanian described My Fresh Market, so we decided to take a look. Am I glad we did. The market has a broad range of tasty treats and food selections from salads, sandwiches, fish and bakery menu items. Super friendly staff to top all that off. Finally, I failed to remember my pullover windbreaker I placed on the seat back. When I realized I left it on the chair, we were already back at our motorhome. I called the market and someone found it still on the chair back. I returned to the market and they had my windbreaker safely stored for me. Can't say enough good things about the variety of menu selections and the entire staff. You won't regret going there. read more

Gluten Free Heaven If you have a gluten allergy, shop here. The bakery has GF scones and brownies. The frozen food aisle has GF ravioli, burritos, waffles, muffins, English muffins, Indian food, pizza, and even DONUTS. They have packaged GF carrot cakes, banana chocolate muffins, snickerdoodle cookies, ginger molasses cookies... I spent over $100 as I was able to buy foods I haven't been able to eat for years. The wine tasting bar is fun. The coffee bar's chocolate ganache latte is very tasty. They have unusual fruit, some of which I haven't seen before. The cheese selection rivals Trader Joe's. Love the fact that they are there and serving the downtown community. BUT, our experience at their espresso stand was very poor. Not only is the cost of a Latte too expensive but their speed and service are really poor. First, the cost of a 16 oz double iced latte with 2% milk and no flavor should never exceed $3.00. They surcharge you .50 for 2% milk when they have a whole store full of it and could easily put a gallon in their frig. This is simply gouging. The charged $4.25 PLUS .50 for the milk for a 16oz double 2% iced latte. I can get two lattes anywhere else for $5.00. They only have Skim and whole milk. They could and should have skim, 1%, 2% and whole milk in their refers. They had two young folks who could barely communicate let alone create a fun and light atmosphere which is paramount in operating a espresso business. The speed of creating drinks is almost unbelievably slow. When you have a line of 6 or seven folks waiting the manager needs to get someone over to help these kids. Get some personality in there and get a manager who is managing by walking around the store and observing. The final straw was when we were finally presented our over priced lattes there was no lid or straw. I asked if I got a lid or straw and the kid tells me, "they are over there". So I go over an put my own lid on and he's overfilled the drink with my overpriced milk and it spills down the sides of the cup. Inserting the straw causes more milk to seep onto the top of the cup lid. I ask the kid if they have any napkins and they are clear over on the other side of the espresso stand. You'd think the manager or someone with a brain could figure out where the napkins should be and also realize that having the customer finish the presentation isn't the best policy. Especially for paying way too much for a really simple drink. I've owned my own Espresso business so I'm more than familiar with how they operate. I won't be back and would suggest you simply go down the street for a better produce, experience and presentation. read more

My wife and I really enjoyed this new Spokane business. The food selection is fantastic. We grabbed some sushi...salads...and sandwiches and dined upstairs enjoying the great view. Everything was fresh and tasted fantastic! My encounter with the sushi guy (Tom I believe), couldn't have gone better. He's friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional.
