Breakfast 6.13.26 Ordered: pay to counter then ticket number, then find a seat. Got me the corned beef hash, and that was a lot of food, they use really thoughtful healthy ingredients and bf altered his to tater tots, if you're use to canned cornbeef, sodium rich foods then you stepped in the wrong resto. If you are health concious then yes this is a place who cares about employing individuals with disabilities, tho i would call it folks with service the community as one. Service is not bad, but not a place that requires button up and fancy dresses. Better be comfy in a beach attire with sandals is ok. Ambiance is colorful, open, bright with decent things of shoppi g merch hats, sweatshirts, and tees. Bathrooms is a NICE touch, im picky and it's clean!! Thank you !

The cashier did a great job taking my order. He had a great speaking voice. The cafe is super cute inside with decor and a nice outdoor area as well. I ordered food to go. It was very fresh tasting. I bought a "no labels" tote bag from their store.

Mychal's Cafe is a gem! Bright, airy, and a great spot for doing a little work, meeting with friends, or treating yourself to some yummy food! The service is friendly, prompt, and caring, as Mychal's staff includes developmentally disabled folks learning new skills, and making some of the most consistently good food in the area. The waffle was perfectly savory/sweet, and served with butter and syrup. However, the breakfast sandwich was the star! Melty mozzarella, pesto, sundried tomatoes on perfectly grilled sourdough, served with a cup of wonderfully acidic tomato soup with a nice drizzle of balsamic. I also see they're applying to serve alcohol, so I see some mimosas in my future! Please make this part of your rotation, if not for the great work they do with the community, but because it's really a great spot to eat!

We went here based on Yelp reviews and it was as if there was divine intervention. . This place reminded us of our special needs daughter as it is a training place for kids with special needs . .The story behind this place is heartwarming! The food was so delicious and obviously made with love. More places need to follow this model!

If I could give Mychal's 6-stars, I would. I love everything this cafe stands for -- empowering people with disabilities and giving them skills in life. We came here on a whim on a Saturday and it was such a great experience. We brought our rambunctious toddler and he was greeted warmly by the staff. The restaurant itself is really large and clean. It was a very family friendly cafe with lots of seating. After reading the few negative reviews, it's clear the people didn't really understand the mission and purpose of the cafe. Yes, you need to be a little more understanding with some of the staff, but if you treat them with kindness and compassion, they return it many times over. The breakfast burrito was large and very filling. The breakfast sandwich was made really well. And the blueberry pancakes were absolutely delicious. And the service was top-notch. We'll be adding Mychal's to our normal rotation and continue to support this incredible cafe. There's a big parking lot in the back of the cafe so parking is super easy. There's a back patio area that's really nice on a beautiful day.

Formerly another healthy food spot, so i was surprised to find out Mychal's is located here. I heard about Mychal's through a friend who frequents this place for breakfast and i love that it's for a good cause. After ordering our breakfast, I checked out the merch in the gift shop adjacent to the restaurant. Such cheerful and pretty canvas bags, tees and hoodies! This place is cute, my food was great and the staff delightful. Parking in the rear.

Mychal's Cafe is amazing. Although it has been on the neighborhood for years, I never ventured in until today. I was looking for brunch places with gluten-free options for a visiting friend and Mychal's came up. The food is delicious, ambiance is light and uplifting, and the staff is very friendly. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage (excellent flavor and the pop of green onions really lifted up the heaviness of the rest of the burrito). I particularly loved the salsa that has bright fresh flavors and a very mild heat on the back end. My friend had Mykie's Scramble with bacon, gluten-free bread, and a side of tomato bisque. Her favorites were the jam for the bread, the potatoes in the scramble, and the bisque itself (very herb-y). I also had a French Toast Latte with Oat Milk that was on the sweet side, but expectedly so given that it is called a French Toast Latte. The staff was very attentive and made sure that the order was correct, engaged us in casual conversation, and were able to answer all of our questions.

First, the service - excellent. Everyone is so welcoming and attentive. The food is fantastic, as well as the latte and cappuccino. I really like their berry smoothie too - a real smoothie without a bunch of added sugar. The restaurant is super clean with a relaxing vibe.

This restaurant has good food and an even better mission of employing students with developmental disabilities to give them an opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed to help them feel empowered and included. We tried the breakfast burrito with avocado and their green smoothie, both of which were satisfying, freshly made and tasty. The tortilla was expertly toasted and inside, the eggs fluffy and well-seasoned. Be sure to try the house made salsa for an extra layer of spice and flavor. Service is efficient, friendly and very attentive. In accordance with their motto, everything is truly "made with love." Please support this wonderful small business.

Food was great! I had the Tomato Basil which was really chunky & SO DELISH & the butternut squash salad which was also really great. Parking is in the back off Vanderbilt. Super friendly vibe... they also have t-shirts/caps/baked goods for sale! My aunt took home a whole box of cookies & her daughter bought a cap. We were really tempted :). Highly recommend.

It's great to see the community supporting a restaurant that does so much to encourage and enhance the lives of others. This restaurant was created by a family that dedicated their lives to their daughter that sadly passed away. It was through this loss, that brought awareness of the lack of medical and emotional support available to families with children with special needs. Sometimes we forget or overlook the difficulties some may face, especially with employment. Mychal's Cafe provides an opportunity for those to shine and demonstrate they can do it all. Take a moment from your day and enjoy a meal or just coffee and see what joy you bring to others. Oh yeah, the food is delicious as well.

Had breakfast here today. It's a good place for a casual brunch. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. They have a food variety of breakfast foods and a good assortment of pastries/baked items. We got two muffins and they were delicious. I had the carrot one and tastes just like carrot cake. My daughter had the açaí bowl. The portions are large and my American breakfast came fresh and hot! I didn't love the coffee but would go back for everything else and it supports a great cause.

Today, we enjoyed lunch at Mychal's Learning Place in Redondo Beach. Ed, the founder, and Doug, the manager, were kind enough to chat with us and share the heartfelt story of Mychal's, which is named after Ed's daughter who sadly passed away at age 7..The organization's commitment to employing and training people with learning disabilities is truly inspiring. So wonderful to have them in the South Bay and we hope our friends will stop by and show them some love and support too!

We love this place! Lots of available free parking in the back lot (enter from Vanderbilt), cute decor, super friendly and helpful staff, always clean, and there's a big outdoor patio that is dog friendly! Customer service was outstanding. Food was delicious!! I ordered a latte, carrot muffin and tomato bisque. All reallllyyy really good. Bisque was light but hearty. Muffin was moist. I could've eaten two in one sitting. Even the beans they use for their coffee was superb (Cafe Luxxe). Lots of comfy seating and parking in the back. We'll be back! read more

What went well? Everything! I love this place, it is wonderful on so many levels. What they're doing for special needs folks is nothing short of amazing. On the numerous occasions I've eaten there, I have been treated very well and the service has been great. The manager goes out of her way to make sure my order is delivered to my satisfaction, and she's so nice! The food is delicious, I especially love the BLTA. The place is decorated so bright and colorful, it always enhances my mood. Once I even got to meet the owner who shared with me the history of Mychal's and how it came to be. I will continue to frequent this lovely café as often as I can. read more

First time coming here and we love what this establishment represents and is such a great addition to the community. We ordered two of the breakfast sandwiches (which I had a few things changed) yogurt parfait, and coffees. Great customer service, food was delicious and so was the coffee. Parking: is a little tricky but the parking lot had ample space. If coming from Artesia there is street parking in the front or for the parking lot turn onto McKay lane and a right on Vanderbilt behind the restaurant (it's a one way street) Food- the ciabatta bread for the sandwiches were SO good. Also everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The drinks were good as well and our favorite dessert that we tried was the snickerdoodle cookie (not pictured cause we ate it so fast ! Service: amazing :) it was our first time and when we were ordering they had a lot of patience for us while we discussed the different options and the food came out within a reasonable amount of time. Accessibility: not sure if this is always how it is but no music was playing inside (a plus for me !) because it's less auditory stimuli. But if you're not a fan maybe bring some headphones to listen to something. Both indoor and outdoor seating and I appreciated that the outdoor was in the back so the noise is more manageable than the other side which is a busier street. Plenty of space to move around the tables, gender neutral bathrooms, the trash cans in the bathrooms have a touch button if you have difficulty with your balance or limited use of your legs for the step-on trash cans. read more

I heard about Mychal's Cafe opening in our North Redondo neighborhood. Our family went on a Sunday for breakfast to check it out. The atmosphere was bright, welcoming, and kid friendly. We ordered a breakfast burrito, scrambled eggs, avocado toast, a bagel and fruit. Everything was exceptionally delicious and eaten by our picky eaters. My son said it is his new favorite breakfast burrito. It is also run by workers with developmental disabilities, so you are supporting a great organization on top of an excellent meal. I think we found our new local breakfast spot and recommend checking it out for coffee, breakfast, and lunch! read more

The food we received was a 5. Service was probably a 2 at the beginning then maybe went up to a 3. When we arrived we got a menu a n d stepped back since we werent ready to order. Once we were ready we stepped to the counter 3 girls behing the counter saw us and we are standing there just waiting for them to take the order. Took about 5min 2 girls were doing anything the other was making coffee. They even got in front of us by the register and I thought they were going to take the order. No acknowledgement like hi or we will be right with you. Nothing. So im standing there until the girl that was making coffee comes up says nothing just looking at us. We finally ordered. My husband says maybe the other girls dont take the orders so yeah maybe. We sat down and realized we missed something so went back up to order stood in line and the other 2 girls did take orders they just didnt take ours earlier even if they werent doing anything. Food was great ill give them a try again maybe it was a off day. Ambiance was super chill took our dog sat outside. read more

To begin, the cafe's ambiance is welcoming, and inviting. The space is open, clean, and modern. The welcoming staff included young adults with disabilities and their support staff who were all very professional. The menu includes various salads, paninis, sandwiches, and wraps. Our cappuccinos, beet burrata salad, and avocado toast with egg on top were divine. This amazing business model cafe filled our bellies with delicious food and our hearts with love. read more

This is such an awesome cafe!! Not only was my scramble and cappuccino delish but the customer service and story behind this sweet business should make everyone want to come in! They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays so don't forget! Stop in for breakfast or lunch and also grab the BEST pastries and cookies. Everything is homemade too! Mychal's Cafe offers a wonderful, broad menu. I especially love their avocado toast. The serving is large and can be split between 2 people. Mychal's has a delish bakery with a nice selection. Cookies are my favorite and Mychal's offers a selection of coffees similar to any coffee business. My norm, cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso. I had the bread pudding French toast and it was the best French toast I've ever had. So memorable that I'm gonna go back just for that. Stopped by Mychal's cafe on Friday with my mom and sister. It was around 10:30/11 am and I was hungry enough to eat more than the typical muffin and a hot drink. I ordered a grilled cheese plus bacon with a green salad, a chai latte with oat milk (they have tons of milk options!), and a snickerdoodle cookie. While waiting for my food I walked around and admired the artwork on the walls (created by Mychal's students), the bright lighting, and the overall open airy feeling of the cafe. Shortly after we sat at a table, a staff member brought my chai followed closely by my sandwich and salad. The sandwich was perfect, it had the most beautiful grill marks on the bread! Not too cheesy, not too much bacon, not too small, not too large. Plus the salad had the perfect amount of dressing. I should note I'm a notoriously picky eater. The service was friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other options on the rather large and varied menu. read more

This was my second visit to Mychal's Cafe but this time to enjoy breakfast. The traditional breakfast was delicious, especially the sausage links, plump and juicy, and cubed potatoes. The fresh fruit was sweet and plentiful. The green smoothie was tasty and refreshing. And the chocolate croissant was light and "oh, so good!". The cafe is bright, airy, and clean. There is street parking and a back parking lot. The most beautiful part of dining at Mychal's Cafe is the concept of providing employment opportunities to young adults with disabilities, a place where these amazing young individuals can acquire job and social skills that will empower them to succeed. I love this place The people are so nice The food is delicious and reasonably priced The cook on Saturday makes every thing so tasty I had the breakfast hash with eggs over easy WOW the hash has such a wonderful flavor I ordered mine with bacon It comes with the normal potatoes and onions It has some great spices, peppers, tomatoes and more Just so tasty Make sure you get some of their homemade jam It too is incredible Thank you! read more

We loved our time at Mychal's! My husband and I shared a chicken pesto panini and the soup of the day which was inland cream. Everything was fresh and delicious. Friends ordered a few other things as well, and overall everything was super good. What stood out most was the texture. Everything tasted moist and well made without feeling like it was trying too hard to be "gluten-free." I'm not personally gluten sensitive, though a couple friends I was with are, and honestly I wouldn't have known it was gluten-free based on the quality and taste alone. The drinks were solid too and paired well with everything we ordered. The whole place has a calm neighborhood bakery feel to it, and you can tell it's a spot locals come back to often.

Mychal's Cafe in Redondo Beach is more than just a great breakfast spot; it's a place with a real purpose. Knowing that it's a social enterprise providing on-the-job training for the incredible participants of Mychal's Learning Place makes every bite that much more meaningful. First off, let's talk about the food. We went on a Sunday morning, and everything was delicious. I went for the breakfast burrito, and it was flavorful with bacon, scrambled eggs, cheddar jack, tots, and green onion all wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla. My wife and son shared a couple of things, and they were equally impressed. The Mykie's Scramble was a hearty and satisfying plate of bacon, eggs, potatoes, and cheese, with a side of toast. And the bread pudding French toast was perfectly cooked, and the seasonal fruit and maple syrup were the perfect toppings. The cafe itself is bright and inviting, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast or brunch. And they have fantastic coffee and tea too! My wife and I both enjoyed their lattes. Finding parking can be a bit tricky, but I've got a little insider tip: if you're driving on Artesia Blvd, turn south on MacKay Ln, then right on Vanderbilt Ln. Keep an eye out on the right, just before Slauson Ln, for the colorful entrance to their parking lot. Trust me, it's worth the extra effort. It's clear that Mychal's Cafe puts a lot of love into their food and their mission. It's a place where you can enjoy a delicious meal while supporting a fantastic cause. Let me tell you hoomans... this café isn't just serving food -- it's serving heart. When I trotted up to Mychal's Café, I could already smell something special in the air. Sure, the human treats looked tasty -- but I was here for the real reason: their homemade peanut dog treatos! Freshly baked, perfectly crunchy, and made from scratch with love -- you can actually taste the kindness in every bite. (Okay, I only got two because Mawm said moderation, but I could've easily inhaled a dozen. Don't judge.) But what really makes Mychal's stand out is their mission. They provide training and employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities -- proving that every cup of coffee, every cookie, and every treat has purpose. So not only are their snacks tail-waggingly delicious, but they're doing good with every order. That's what I call a pawsitive impact! If you're in the area -- bring your pup, grab a latte, and share a moment of joy on that sunny patio. And don't forget to snag a peanut treato (or ten). Mychal's Café in Redondo Beach is easily one of my absolute favorite spots in the area. Beyond the fantastic food and drink, I truly love the organization's mission, and the positive energy is palpable the second you walk through the door. The entire staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, but during our most recent visit, the manager, Paloma, was especially wonderful. She went out of her way to interact with my son and daughter and was just such an amazing, kind person - she completely made our day! As for the menu, it never disappoints. I've had their açai bowl in the past and loved it, but this time we tried the breakfast burrito and the pancakes, and everything was absolutely amazing. You also can't go wrong with their drinks; every single coffee beverage we've ordered here is made so deliciously. To top it all off, parking is super easy because they have their own dedicated back lot, which is a massive plus for Redondo Beach. Exceptional food, great coffee, and a beautiful community purpose. Brought my teens and mother in for lunch and everyone enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and their whole menu is delicious and healthy... love that they are a blue zones approved restaurant too. Clean, bright and cheery inside. Love the art on the walls. read more
