This was my second visit to Mychal's Cafe but this time to enjoy breakfast. The traditional breakfast was delicious, especially the sausage links, plump and juicy, and cubed potatoes. The fresh fruit was sweet and plentiful. The green smoothie was tasty and refreshing. And the chocolate croissant was light and "oh, so good!". The cafe is bright, airy, and clean. There is street parking and a back parking lot. The most beautiful part of dining at Mychal's Cafe is the concept of providing employment opportunities to young adults with disabilities, a place where these amazing young individuals can acquire job and social skills that will empower them to succeed. We loved our time at Mychal's! My husband and I shared a chicken pesto panini and the soup of the day which was inland cream. Everything was fresh and delicious. Excellent cafe on Artesia with a great breakfast. We had the breakfast panini, so large we should have split! Blueberry muffin was bursting with blueberries. Coffee cake had good flavor but a little dense for my taste. Coffee was excellent. The cafe itself is spacious and bright. Small back patio perfect to have the dog sit with us. Just walking into this café, you are greeted with a very bright and happy atmosphere. The art on the wall is done by the students of Mychals learning place. The menu is modest, but everything is delicious. The students and staff are attentive and kind. It is such a loving environment. Finally had lunch at this adorable cafe! I ordered the sandwich/soup special and it was delicious! The chicken salad is served on a croissant and the tomato bisque is excellent! I felt the price was reasonable, and the service was lovely! We ate in the cafe, which is well decorated, and they have an outdoor area as well. They have a pretty large menu, and I am looking forward to making this a monthly breakfast/lunch place. Such a positive vibe! read more

Stumbled across this cafe this morning after preschool drop off for my little one. I love how spacious, bright, clean, and welcoming the space is! Plus, with my little one recently diagnosed with ASD, the origin story and mission of the place resonates with me. The back patio is nice and protected from the street, with sweet flowering plants and a vertical veggie garden growing next to it. It's a great place to sit and absorb some morning sunshine. Ample parking is available in the back of the cafe, but it's tricky to get to, as you have to go a bit out of your way and down a one-way street. However, it's worth it! I enjoyed their matcha tea latte. It's not overly sweet like I get at other places, which is a nice change of place. They have almond and oat milk, but no soy, sadly. I plan to come back to try their food, as I'm seeing a lot of great reviews on the taste from others. Glad I found this place! read more

Stopped by because they place had 5 stars on yelp which is impressive now days. Ordered an ice vanilla matcha and two bacon breakfast burritos to go. The first match we got taste like straight milk. I have never been one to ask for my drink to re made but did this time. It was remade better, no complaints. We took the burritos home and started eating only to realize they are HAM burritos. How can you repeat the order correct and still send out wrong food? And since we have brought it home, no point in driving back. I don't know how you can get the meat wrong in a burrito! I think this place is just 5 stars for their foundation. For $40 I'll drive down pch to Phanny's for better burritos and half the price! We have visited Mychal's several times now, because we live nearby, and always the food has been delicious, fresh, generously portioned and attractively presented, on real dishes and glasses, with real silverware. For picky eaters, the sides (fruit salad, greens, mango slaw, quinoa) are thoughtfully served in a separate dish. The back patio is perfect; good shade, pretty flowers along the edge, and very accessible. Staff are always friendly and cheerful. This cafe is thoughtful in design and execution, and it feels like a community homebase already, after just a few months. Bravo to all involved. read more

I usually don't care to leave reviews; however, my experience here was upsetting. When my wife and I walked in we walked into a scene of the manager being incredibly rude to a staff member. We came here to support this business for what it does but to see that as soon as we walk in was sad to say. The lovely staff member then took my order and I gave my name, I corrected her twice but no worries Im sure she either got it or something close. We waited 30 mins, with the manager walking past us a couple times. After my wife walked up to ask, it appears that our order was already ready! But the name called was something so far off from my name! My question is, if you saw us put in the order knowing we were the only ones doing to go why not check in with us still sitting? When we ask her about it her response was "oh uh sorry". I hope this review reaches the owner and something at-least is done to make a change. I hated seeing the poor workers being treated this way. Overall, poor management! Great team members! Food is alright would have been better if I had it warm. read more
