I have been coming to this location for a few years. I have never had any issues. The only downside, is each year I return its a different set of staff. That in itself can say a lot about a business. Nevertheless, I'm in and out in a timely manner and everyone is always professional. One thing I did notice on this visit is that Dr. S seemd a little rushed today. I did take up a little more time than normal only because I had issues getting the new contacts in. However, he did put them in for me and had a staff member show and help show me an easier way to get them in and out which was really helpful. It was just apparent he was ready to move on to the next patient. No one ever likes to feel they are rushed no matter the situation. Great and convenient location for me. Clean facility and they have a great selection of glasses to choose from. No pressing issues. read more

I've been a customer for years. My whole family comes to MyEyeDr. I sometimes come to this location and sometimes I will go to the Gastonia office since it is close to my job. Well I made an appointment for my daughter at this location about a month ago. I received a text message asking me to confirm. I confirmed and got a text response stating that my appointment was confirmed. I get off work early and rearrange my entire evening so that I could take her to get her eye exam. When I arrived (10 minutes early), I was told that my appointment had been cancelled because I hadn't confirmed over the phone. I showed them my text confirmation from MyEyeDr. They then said that the rule is that you have to confirm over the phone or your appointment would be canceled. I have never confirmed over the phone nor was I able to find where that rule was written. My entire evening was inconvenienced and I will not be returning to spend my hard earned dollars there. read more

Everything up to my sales technician was decent and easy going. I understand the point of needing to make a profit, but if I do not have a prescription, and I have 20/20 vision, why on earth would you try to force me to buy some glasses?? I was also not offered sunglasses due to my eyes being dilated, so thank goodness I brought my friend with me or I would honestly be out of luck regarding driving home. It was unprofessional at the most and the whole experience was just awkward. I didn't feel at ease talking to my optometrist, she was really awkward and just made me feel unwelcome at the least. Second, the sales technician ushered me out the door before I could even get evaluated on my eyes by the optometrist. I received a call that I left too soon and was needed back in the office. When I walked back in, the sales technician definitely backpedaled and said "You hurried on out there!" Okay girl, after I said I wasn't going to buy glasses if I didn't have a prescription for them, she said "Have a nice day, goodbye." So I took that as a farewell, and got up and left. My friend berated me because I was supposed to receive sunglasses for my dilated eyes and I ended up having to use her daily use ones because I was given NOTHING. This was the worst visit I've ever encountered and I will not be going to ANY of these stores again. Save your time and money and go to someone you or your friends & family trust and know. read more

What a GREAT experience! I went here today after going to another MyEyeDr location last year where I had the worse experience ever. Today was soooo much different. For one, I got there and was given attention right away. The front desk receptionist was not as friendly as I would have expected but she was not rude either. The assistant was very knowledgeable and thorough. She explained everything as we went along. Dr. Chantel Garcia gave me so much information not only about my current condition but what to expect in the future as I got older. She gave me tips on how to take better care of my eyes. She was very clear in her explanations and gave reasons along with her findings. This was a very good experience. I'll be back! read more

I came here today and was amazed. I was a little hesitant to try a new eye doctor but it all worked out. 1st off I was only there for an hour and 10 minutes for a full eye exam. That's just unheard of from my experiences. They have this cool machine where instead of getting your eyes dilated you get a picture of your eye taken. I needed to drive back to work after my eye appointment so I paid the $39 (insurance doesn't cover it) and wasn't too upset about it. The picture that they take can screen for tumors, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Diabetes runs in my family so it was well worth it. Dr. Garcia was very personable and efficient. She helped match me to the best contact lenses that my insurance will cover but were still a good fit for me. Now for the general manager, Adrian. He was awesome! He was also very friendly. He even fixed my glasses from 2 years ago. I stepped on them and bent them and haven't been able to wear them for months. Adrian said he could try to fix them and he did just that on top of cleaning them. When he checked me out, Adrian made sure that even though my contacts (ordered a full year worth) were paid for by my insurance I still qualified for the rebate. I even qualified for a free pair of sunglasses... they are good quality and come with a case and cleaning cloth. Overall, I can now say that I don't hate eye doctors. I was in and out and everyone was extremely friendly. They even explained my insurance for me because I honestly don't know everything that is covered. The location is in a perfect spot by a few restaurants and Trader Joe's. Will definitely be returning. read more

This location is fairly new and I was in need of a new eye doctor so I tried it. Overall I was happy with my experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The eye doctor was very nice and made sure the contacts I was fitted for was comfortable. There is a decent eye frames selection but I did not like any of the brands just my preference. The only downside was I was not given my contact and eye glasses prescription when I left the office. I have to call back and confirm my contacts are fine and it seemed like I had to order with them which I don't think I want to do. Besides that the service was great and fast and I will be back as long as I get my prescription. read more

Please avoid this location if possible as the office staff is very rude and not supportive. I had an appointment for my child on March 1st and I missed that appointment. Booked the appointment 2.5 months ago and I expected some follow up call before that appointment but I haven't received any reminder and I missed that. On 03/02 I called them and informed them that I missed the appointment and I am looking for some urgent appointment. They didn't even bother about the urgency and gave another appointment after 15 days i.,e 03/15 @ 5:15 PM. Today I called them before I was visiting and they said that the appointment was cancelled and the next appointment is only on 03/22. They are not giving any proper reason and I didn't get any update on the cancellation till I called them and checked. Similar experience earlier also, due to a traffic jam I appeared 8 mins late and they didn't allow me to meet the doctor and cancelled the appointment. read more

Just had full eye exam. Making my appointment was easy and fit well within my schedule. Only had to wait about 10 minutes past appointment time, which I consider good timing. I first met with the assistant who did all of the prep work, she was knowledgeable and very nice and easy to deal with. Then the Optometrist met with me for the actual eye exam... She was very thorough in her exam and took the time to talk with me about diabetes and why I should get regular exams. In no way did I feel it was a sales pitch, there was genuine empathy and concern about my vision health... All in all, I would highly recommend My Eye Dr. to anyone needing an eye exam. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the amount of stock they had for eye glass frames. Don't get me wrong, they had a goodly amount but to get the 5th star they would need to have a LARGE selection. Again, highly recommended for the actual eye exam and Dr care. read more

I really am satisfied with MyEyeDr. I love my frames and the service and attention is really great. On my last visit, I needed new frames for my old glasses and was hoping to find the same frame (I bought them there as well, over a year ago) and he was able to find the frame and made the transition the very same day. I thought I would have to leave them, but I walked out of the office with new glasses. I am always very satisfied with the service, they give good attention to your needs. Friendliness of staff and eye doc ~ 5 stars! The doc (Herb Smith I think?) was funny and friendly. Held conversation and made you feel very comfortable. I feel kinda weird in a small dark room with a strange man 2 inches from my face but he didn't make it awkward. Even asked about my tattoos lol. The asst lady that took care of me was super awesome. Very nice and explained everything fully. Cleanliness (which is BIG to me) ~ 5 stars! The woman wiped down everything with alcohol pads. I'd like to do that to some random strangers. Selection of lenses ~ 2...nothing compared to somewhere like LensCrafters and a lot that are the same style, just different brands and prices Wait time ~ 2...in all actuality the wait time wasn't that bad, it was just a TON of back and forth. I think because they only have 1 exam room and 1 test thingy room. They do tests, back to waiting room, see the doc, back to waiting room, more tests, back to waiting room, see doc, back to waiting room. Put contacts in, test, waiting room then doc. Finally time to discuss prices and pick out glasses. Appt was at 5:15, left at 7:20. Some great deals though. Had a Groupon which covered lenses and frames (I sprung for no glare though) and they price match contacts. I paid $18 for a year supply, yes after insurance, but MUCH cheaper than ordering online. Overall I would def recommend and I'll likely go back next year, just be prepared to wait :)) read more

I had an appointment at MyEyeDr at the Arbors this afternoon at 3:40. I arrived at 3:30 and was told that the doctor's schedule had changed and that the doctor had left for the day. I was told that they sent me an email the day prior to inform me, but that was simply NOT true. You should not make things up that people can check. The receptionist with the very Northern accent with a very nasal tone was extremely rude. No one in that office made any attempt to apologize to me for my inconvenience. She simple tried to reschedule me for several weeks down the road. Guess what! You are not the only eye doctor in the city. I will try my luck somewhere else with better customer service and a receptionist who is not so incredibly rude. read more

Today I had my yearly eye appointment at this location. I have been a patient at this location for 2 years now. I came to My EYEDR after my previous optometrist of 10 years moved. Today.....I truly missed the excellent customer service of my previous optometrist. The check in process and pre exam screening at My EyeDr were very customer friendly and professional and Dr. Angelo was excellent. My post exam experience is where things went down hill. My technician was named Teresa and when she sat down with me she wanted to know if I wanted a years worth of contacts. I informed her I only wanted to use my current insurance allotment. She then told me each box would cost me $90 and my allotment was set at $150. I said ok I will take one box and a prescription so I could find the contacts on line at a cheaper rate. I told her I have always gotten at least 2 boxes with the $150 allotment and she confirmed she could she I did that last year but she guess that maybe the contacts were more expensive. She said the $90 box could be reduced to $65 each if I were to purchase a years allotment. I declined and Teresa then told me if I only used the $90 I would forfeit the additional $60 because they could only bill my insurance one time. Teresa and I debated the validity of her statement for 2 or 3 minutes and I explained to her I was very familiar with my insurance plan and what was available to me. She disagreed and asked me again did i want the years allotment, to which I declined. As I was paying Teresa my co-pay she did ask another technician about the $60 insurance benefit and whether or not I would loose it. The technician informed her I was correct about not loosing the $60. Now, once we finished I informed Teresa I was heading out of town and wondered if I could get a back up pair of contacts in case I had issues with the new prescript I was just issued. Teresa told me she would ask but didn't think she would have one to give me because they only have the one pair which was given to me already but she would ask. Teresa went to the back of the office and returned to me and said NO they did not have any extras since they just gave me the pair I have on. I then asked if she would call another My Eye Dr location to see if they would have an extra pair. She walked away and came back to tell me if another location had a pair they only had one and would not give it to me. Now my issues are with the poor customer service and the SALES focused intent on the part of the technician. This person was willing to pass along incorrect information about my insurance benefit and was pushing the purchase of a years allotment of contacts. To add to that having a customer ask for a comp pair contacts to help with out of town travel and not putting forth effort to help the customer with an obvious issue and just brush them off is unacceptable. I am glad I found out what is important to the people at My EyeDr before I invested any additional time in being a customer. Customer service does not mean you should break the rules for the customer but looking out for their interest and showing concern and going the extra mile means a lot and makes a customer want to bring business back your way and tell others. How hard would it have been to just call another location to see if the option was available. It was just easier to tell me NO. I'm going to find a customer service friendly optometrist office that appreciates, or pretends to appreciate, their patients. I felt very unimportant at this location and as if my concerns were not important. read more

I went to My Eye Dr last night to get new glasses before the year ends (use my insurance benefits). It was such an easy experience. You can make an appointment online if it's about a week out. However I wanted to see if they could get me in this week so I called and they got me in that day. When I arrived they were so polite. Angela got me started on my exam and she was polite, friendly and made sure all the equipment was clean before I had to use it. I appreciate so much a nurse/doctor taking the time to introduce themselves and demonstrate that they care about cleanliness. She also went through my benefits with me before any exams so I knew what I would be paying for out of pocket Ahead of time. Dr Angelo was my doctor and she was also very sweet and friendly. I picked out my glasses and they will text me when they arrive. Bottom line: the office is clean, staff is friendly and helpful in explaining benefits. read more

Shortly after writing my first review, I was contacted by someone from the head office in customer service asking more details about our situation. He spoke with the women from the office I had spoken with on the phone and took quick action. They sent us our full requested refund in two days time. This eyecare optic is horrible as well as their other location in Huntersville. Today I call to get a copy of my prescription, which I know they have. A woman named Teresa answered the phone and asked me a million and one questions as to why I wanted them to send me a copy of my prescription and not Huntersville. Needless to say it was because I had a horrible experience at the Huntersville location in which I had my eye exam and prescription filled but they los my frames which is what I used. So when I finally got her to pull me up she said she couldn't send me my prescription since it's expired, then after I said I didn't care if it was expired she went to say that she couldn't send it since their was no manager or physician there. Don't use this place they lose frames, management and employees are horrible and unprofessional and I'm going to have to call Huntersville, which I really didn't want too. From the front office staff to the Doctor's and technicians everyone was very knowledgeable and courteous. Was looking for a specific kind of sunglasses and did not see any samples in the store. One of the staff members went to the back and brought out some more samples for me to see. I found a pair that met my specifications and bought them! A couple of weeks ago I took my glasses in to have them checked. They needed replacement lens and , since they were still under warranty, they were replace. Then, this past Friday, I noticed a scratch on my sunglasses! Again, since they were under warranty, they were happy to replace them. Everyone is always very friendly and willing to help. read more

Took my diabetic mother for her first eye exam ever this past weekend. She was a little nervous and didn't know what to expect. It was an awesome first experience from start to finish!! Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Check In was super simple! We had completed our paperwork online, I highly recommend that! So simple! Dr Earl was amazing!! She took amazing care of my mom and made the eye exam an awesome first experience! Selection of eyewear and price ranges were great! Entire staff was very knowledgeable and friendly!! I would give less than 1 star if there is an option. I gave two orders one is just lenses and second is clear glasses with frame on 28rd Nov 2016. They told me orders will be ready by 12 Dec 2016 but when I called MyEyeDr office on 12th Dec 2016, they said one order came wrong so they had to place another order for correction and promised me that it will be fixed in one week. MyEyeDr messaged me to pick up the orders after one week. when I went there on 23rd Dec I was fully disappointed, MyEyeDr team messed my complete order and framed sun glass lenses instead of clear glasses. MyEyeDr was very rude instead of saying sorry & admit mistake they said it is not my mistake I placed correct order and lab team delivered wrong orders. Team was completely rude and said if you like you can cancel complete order instead of placing new order to correct the mistake. Due to less time and avoid searching new frame, I asked please correct my order. This time I didn't get order completion date instead of MyEyeDr team said we will message once order will be ready. I went to pick my order again on 2nd Jan 2017 after receiving message. This time, I got correct clear glasses order but YET AGAIN this time my LENSES order was missing. When I asked why another order is missing, they said because you received only one message, we will send another message to pick second order and asked me to come again after receiving message. MyEyeDr team refused to answer when I asked that I never received to separate message before. Definitely Definitely I will not recommend MyEyeDr to anyone now and in future. read more
