Mykonos is a delicious Greek restaurant located on the river in downtown Fort Lauderdale. We had an early dinner before a show we were going to at the Broward Center. It was about a 5 to 10 minute walk from Broward Center to the restaurant. The walk is very nice as it runs along the river. The restaurant is located next to the wharf heading east from the theater. It's a little bit of a challenge to find. If you're driving there, you definitely want to make sure you're parking near the wharf as there's no direct parking in front of the restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful. It's very clean and inviting. My only negative was that we sat outside in front of the river and could only see the river through small slivers in the thick foliage that created a wall. It's possible the foliage is there to create privacy because it's right next to the walk way along the river, but it kind of limits the view. Maybe during the day it is easier to see. The food and service was absolutely delicious. They serve tapas style, so we ordered a few dishes and shared. Everyone enjoyed all of the dishes. We went here for girl's night on a hot night so we decided to sit inside. If you do sit inside, know that it is loud and sometimes conversations can be difficult. But the new decor is lovely and definitely a step above the place that was in this space before. All of our drinks were perfectly poured and came out quickly. The food comes up tapas style so you really don't know what is going to show up and when. We also have a service snafu when we couldn't find out server at one point (turns out he was out on the patio) We tried a range of dishes from the hummus with mushrooms, to crispy zucchini, chicken shish kabob, spiced lamb and the octopus. The food was good but I think we were hoping for more specific Greek entree's with a name like Mykonos and this was more Mediterranean but still good. Know that they do put an automatic 18% tip on your check so look for it if you go. Dinner ran about $100 per person with a couple of drinks each so typical for this area. The challenge they are going to have is carving a niche for themselves in the crowded Fort Lauderdale market. Their location is fantastic on the river but people are going to have to find them so they need signage out on 2nd street directing people back to their location. The restaurant is very well appointed and on the intercostal. It offers inside and outside dining. Parking is available but a distance away and it is a charge of $15. The server was very nice and apologetic for the service that was terrible. The kitchen was staffed with incompetent cooks who could not get out more than one dish at a time. Our appetizers came out one at a time and by the time the second dish was delivered the first dish was cold. On to the entrees, food was not good and again delivered in 10 minute intervals. There were 4 of us so it took a half hour between the first and last dish to be served. The server apologized so many times it got boring. The manager came to apologize next and offered free dessert which also came out one dish at a time and the cappuccino was only half coffee and half foam. The dinner was around $500 and not worth the parking fee. We were the only customers for most of the evening and finally another couple showed up. We were a large party of 19 for a birthday so the restaurant's policy was a set menu- a vegetarian menu and another including meat. The service for such a group was great, and even the veggie menu for extensive and everything tasted great, the humus was excellent and tasted so fresh. However, we made this reservation more than a month in advance and on the phone they made it seem like no problem to host such a large party. On the night of, due to space constraints they sat us separately so that was not great as there was no space for all of us together. Then they gave us 2 separate bills both charging for the cake fee. Honestly poor organization skills by the host who should have been upfront and say that they could not host such a large party. read more

Wow oh wow did I have an amazing first experience at Mykonos! From first arrival, I loved the decor and ambiance of the place. The furniture and decorations all really brought an international feel. I could only get a reservation for outside but I would have loved to have sat inside because it looked super cool inside. Outside was still great, so not complaining. The chairs are super comfortable and cushiony also which I love and appreciate and the tables were a decent size. Nothing I hate more than a table for 2 that can't even fit a plate on it. Our server Kate was great, and went above and beyond assisting me with my nut allergy to help me navigate the menu. She explained everything really well, was personable and attentive, and had a great knowledge of the menu/restaurant. As for the food and drinks, everything I had was out of this world, 10/10. One of my drinks was a little sweeter than I prefer but other than that there is not one thing to complain about. All the food came out cooked to perfection and hot. (2) Crispy Zucchini - Nothing special, was just tempura zucchini, which had oil spewing from the inside with every bite. Was not great (3) Crispy Lemon Potatoes - recommended by our server as a table favorite, and it was our least favorite item. Just regular roasted potatoes drenched in a lemon olive oil. If you're a spice-y eater, the restaurant doesn't stock spice. Chef doesn't believe in it. Initially, our service started out fabulous, our waitress was very attentive. Since we had three horrible appetizers, and there wasn't a single vegetarian entree on the menu, we decided to grab the check. The server didn't approach us until after ten minutes. The food was tasty and unique. We went to this pace for Valentine's Day to celebrate and I must admit the atmosphere was SO cute and great for pictures. Despite how good it looked it was their soft opening so it took about two hours to get our food. The drinks were delicious and I love how it attached to a speakeasy, but the portion sizes are definitely small because it's family style and they are tapas, which are made to share. Each dish also comes out as it's made. Overall I wasn't crazy about the taste of the food or the chicken kabobs we ordered but I'm willing to try it again now that they've settled and are fully open. It's a good location if you live on the river but if not it can definitely be tough to find parking. read more

After spotting this place on Instagram, I knew I had to check it out. I'm from Astoria, Queens, while I'm not Greek myself, I definitely know Greek cuisine, and let me just say, this spot did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the service was top notch and the ambience was just right, elegant but not stuffy, vibrant but still relaxed. We started with the Truffle Tuna Tartare, which was absolutely fantastic, so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Then came the Grilled Spanish Octopus. Now, I've had grilled octopus all over, from Astoria to Buenos Aires, but this one hit different. It was tender, rich in flavor, and had a kind of warmth I've never experienced in the dish before. Loved it. For the main course, I went with the Spiced Lamb, herb-marinated lamb lollipops served with grilled asparagus and a side of Roasted Beets (which came with goat cheese, roasted pistachios, and a sour cherry vinaigrette). Everything was perfectly cooked, balanced, and delicious. Since I was driving and being a responsible adult, we skipped the cocktails and split a bottle of my go-to: Pellegrino sparkling water. All in all, I'm so glad we chose to dine here. The vibe, the food, the service, everything was on point. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Giving 3 stars is being generous. The service was good but for a high end restaurant, it was disappointing. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and a side, because the entrees do not come with any sides. One appetizer came out and then the side dish came out. Then the 2 entrees came out and the other appetizer never arrived. We were finishing up our meals and figured she forgot or didn't hear us order it. Then she fills the water glasses and said the appetizer is on the way shortly, my husband said please cancel it as we have now finished our meals and we expected it out earlier. Mykonos has a completely chill vibe supported by delicious Mediterranean styled dishes and an impressive drink selection. Their hummus is delish and the giant pita chips are hilarious to see for the first time. The Pineapple Express cocktail had the perfect mix to handle the mezcal inside it and the showmanship on the smoke when they bring it to the table is great. The kebabs were totally unexpected. Deconstructed chicken on thin wraps with a garlic sauce and sumac onions. While delish, I wish there was more onion to add to the gigantic pieces of chicken. The only reason I'm giving this place a 2/5 was because outside of the octopus and tartare, nothing was seasoned or flavored. Everything was so bland. We were extremely disappointed because we were so excited to eat the lamb chops and ribeye, considering it costs $59 and $69...it had no seasoning. Not even salt and pepper. The "orzo pasta" side is not even orzo pasta...that's rice. Very misleading. Everything cost so much money and what you are really paying for is the aesthetic...that's it. So if you're going to go here, make sure you get your pictures in. I would stick to the small plates. read more

I recently visited newly opened Mykonos and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfectly set the tone for a night that you made feel as if you were dining in the Mediterranean. The staff were not only attentive but genuinely kind and personable. It's rare to find a team that seems so passionate about making your dining experience special. Our server Kate was very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu and provided excellent recommendations, which made the meal even more enjoyable she even spaced out the meal so we did not feel rushed and could enjoy each plate. And the food--absolutely amazing! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. You can tell that they put a lot of care into creating this menu. The quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation made each bite a pleasure. The truffle on the tuna tartare was perfectly balanced, the Peach Stracciatella salad was incredible and a must try, the Beef Carpaccio was a hit with all of us and we felt that the crispy capers and pomegranates elevated the dish, the Crispy Lemon Potatoes were unlike any I have had before, and for dessert you cannot leave without having the Pistachio Bougatsa. It's not often that a restaurant combines not only great food and service but also a truly welcoming environment. Both were fresh and flavor was amazing (5/5). We then had the Peach Stracciatella (5/5) and Beet Salad (5/5). We then had the crispy zucchini which was great and crispy (4/5) and manti. Though the manti was good, it's not what we expected and would not order again. For anyone who has had traditional manti they probably will not like it. If you haven't had it before then you'll enjoy the dish. We also had the crispy potatoes which were good and flavorful but forgetable (3/5). We ended with the pistachio dessert (5/5) which is absolutely incredible. Light, flavorful and the perfect ending. Drinks were delicious. We tasted the Lady D and the pistachio whiskey drink. Came in on a Friday night for dinner . We had no reservations yet had no issues finding a seat at the bar . Plenty of seating throughout as well . Two bars one inside but with the humidity outside , thanks but not tonight my friend. We sat inside with a super friendly bartender named Wilmer . Very nice and helped us make our choices for the evening . By the looks at the bar it looked empty with very little choices but they do have drink choices that are not in plane site . Food was very tasty and good in sizes . Everything was flavorful and photo worthy . Food comes out quickly and hot . Staff is always checking on you as well . The only reason I will not give a 5 star review is the horrible parking or lack of. The restaurant is located in a hidden spot situated on the river . Valet parking is an option but didn't see it till be passed it . Finally spoke to valet and he said he unfortunately didn't have room for my size truck . I appreciate the honesty but what's the point of having valet if it can't accommodate all vehicle sizes . We found parking down the street and walked to restaurant . Don't follow maps app . It will take you to a round about at the hotel but extremely hard to navigate due to vehicle congestion . I spoke to staff and they even said it is a little confusing. Other than this parking issue I hope this restaurant survives the food and staff is great but the location will make it a struggle . Live laugh and hope for the best . read more

A new Greek restaurant to try in Fort Lauderdale. We arrived a little before our reservation and wanted to go to the bar. We were told the bar was fully committed. The host recommended us to go next door to the speakeasy. We went there and had the most amazing drinks! They also serve food there, but not sure if the menu is the same as Mykonos. We went back to the restaurant and sat at our table. The decorations inside were so cute! It felt like we were in Greece, especially because it has an indoor/ outdoor concept. They have indoor and outdoor seating, make sure you request your preference in your reservation. We went with the servers recommendations on what was popular to try. Just a heads up it is Greek food with a twist. Appetizers: We got Beef Carpaccio, it was good. Definitely interesting as it had pomegranates on it. Oysters were from West Coast. Hummus with spiced beef was good. Definitely different than a plain hummus and the chips pair well with it! The grilled Octopus was just ok. I believe it was over cooked. Entrees: Chicken Shish Kabob- definitely recommend! This is not your typical chicken kabobs. Listen to the chef's recommendations on how to eat them! They were delicious and not boring! Spiced Lamb- it came with 3 lamb chops, we asked for 4 and they couldn't accommodate this. They were good and served with asparagus. They lit the sage and we rubbed it on the lamb chops for more flavor. The crispy lemon potatoes were amazing! Orzo was good as well. Dessert Would recommend the Pistachio Bougatsa. It is a light dessert with pistachio flavor. We wanted something with chocolate and got the Heavenly Date. It was described by the waitress as a "snickers bar" ... it was ok and you can taste the dates. First, I came 10 mins earlier than the rest of my party, so I asked if I could drink at the bar, and I was told the bar is sitting only???? That was weird. So they told me I could go next door to their "speakeasy" called swizzle, it was very cute and a nice rum bar w amazing cocktails. Ok, so my party came and we sat, our waitress was amazing! The food, not so much. We started with the peach stracitella salad, the peaches were hard, which makes sense bc they aren't in season, this is an upscale place, they shouldn't serve food that is out of season, it was horrible. The tuna tartar had ZERO flavor, they just needed to add some salt and it would be much better, bc the fish was super fresh. The zucchini chips were the winner, but the catch is, there wasn't enough of the zaatar dip so we asked for me and it was an extra $3......which is kinda insane??? The sea bass was subpar, the chicken was solid and the crispy potatoes were fine, nothing to write home about. We gave the manager our feedback and he was very receptive. Went here for a date night, new spot just opened up right behind the wharf. Such a pretty place! They even had a really nice photo area. For drinks we had a honey old fashion and the lychee martini, both were just perfect. Not overly sweet which was perfect because I hate sweet drinks. For food we ordered so much, but the most memorable of them all was the dumplings dish and hummus with steak. I would definitely suggest to try both. Had a really nice time a Mykonos with my sever Axel who was friendly and knowledgeable, although he did insist I call him "November rain" or "Sha-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-knee-knee!" To which I happily obliged. Oysters from the East Coast were fresh and cold with tasty accoutrement. The carpaccio was probably my favorite dish, with the salty capers and sweet pomegranates making sweet synergy in my mouth hole. The food was great, service friendly and attentive, and some really great wine and cocktail options. Axels suggestion to pair the assyertiko wine with the carpaccio was a little unorthodox but 10000% worked. See you soon! read more

I do not mind paying more but the food was not good for even a low priced restaurant....we got the Seabass (too much butter!) and the Snapper (too much seasoning...could not even taste the fish).
