The wait staff is extremely lacking in service and knowledge here. At least the waitress we had. I asked for my salmon medium rare and she reassured me that they could do that. It showed up extremely extra well done. She didn't come back to check on us for a very long time. Then when she did, I ordered a drink and then started to ask her for a new order of salmon but she walked away from us while I was speaking. I asked her to take the salmon off of the bill and she accommodated, but never asked why. Then came back and apologized. She has no clue what she was apologizing for since she didn't even ask. Very amateur and unprofessional. Will NOT be coming back here. I gave them two stars instead of one because the fried green tomato appetizer was really good (even though it was served with cold tomato sauce on hot tomatoes). The wait staff sucks! read more

During my visit I ordered the vegetarian jackfruit. I won't even talk about the food my fiancé sent back. The issue with my meal was that there are pieces of jackfruit which are supposed to be thrown away when prepping that are being used as food. The point of pulled pork jackfruit is to simulate pulled pork not giant chunks that are hard. The waitress noticed that I didn't eat my meal and did not ask how it was. The waitress removed my fiancé's meal from the bill. I so badly wanted to explain to a kitchen manager how to properly prep jackfruit and to not have another human get half a scrap sandwich. We had not been to this restaurant in over a year and were pretty disappointed with the food. We ordered chicken bacon Mac, shrimp and grits, kids Alfredo with grilled chicken. My Husband and I decided to try this restaurant again, and I'm glad we did! The first try we had a wait time of at least 45minutes to be seated for dinner, so we gave up. Tonight we started with drinks at the bar, and the wait for dinner was much better we waited about 10minutes before being seated. We started with The Mystic Salad which was delicious! My Husband ordered The Pork Chop dinner and I ordered the Ribeye dinner. Both meals were delicious! My steak was tender, perfectly cooked and the vegetables were tender and very flavorful! My Husband raved about his pork Chop and absolutely loved the sweet potato soufflé and greens! Our waitress was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The Hostess was very pleasant and told us about the entrees and some history of the restaurant and owners. We will be back soon. read more

In and seated right away on a Friday at 6pm. Maybe it was luck, maybe just great timing. Most of the family stuck with light salads but the kid (14 yrs) and I both had the chicken sliders (2 to a plate), mine had the black pepper cream cheese and red pepper jelly, his did not. Good thing we each had our own because, had we split one plate, there would have been a fight to get the others' unfinished portion! The breaded chicken was tasty by itself but the cream cheese/jelly combo put it over the top. After tasting the cheese/jelly in mine, the kid agreed he would have that on his next time. I was a sous chef years ago and I love that the menu is constantly changing (I absolutely despise chain restaurants with their same six and sevens). I can't say enough praise for the staff. A few months back I was making beef bourguignon and needed Demi glacé. I called to ask if they had any they'd be willing to sell. When I arrived, the manager handed me a quart and said there was no charge. This stuff ain't cheap! Do you know how long and difficult it is to make? It usually takes me two days. Consistently delicious! We live in the area and dine at Mystic Grill an average of twice a week. Equal visits of lunch and dinner. We love the specials they have for dinner on weekends! It's a great place to have drinks, good wine list, craft cocktails and various beers. I love the ambience of this place as soon as you walk in. Went today, crappy overpriced Ceaser salads, all lettuce, a few croutons and a tiny bit of bottled Dressing. Very disappointing. We sat upstairs and the room was a disgrace, no silverware or ambience at all. Like we waited a long time for this ‍ Management needs to get on this. People travel a long way to be seated in a crappy room with dirty sticky tables and no feeling of the vampire diaries whatsoever.
