Delicious Cantonese food in Elk Grove! My family usually goes more to Sacramento for Cantonese food but this restaurant has been on repeat every since they discovered it. Prices are fairly reasonable with some dishes but of course my Chinese family would always say it could be cheaper. Portions are good, not ginormous but also not skimpy. Here are some of my go-to favorites that we ordered: Pan fried noodles with beef and tomato (5/5)- I always order this when I go to eat Chinese food and this dish was the best out of all. Saucy, sweet, and salty. Beef chow fun (4/5)- noodles could have been a little thinner or separated. Supposedly the meat was more tender last time my aunt came. Wonton noodle soup (3.5/5) -broth was lacking a little something, noodles a little over cooked, and wontons could have had more shrimp. For $11 it's still worth imo Fish porridge (3.5/5)- doesn't taste the same as all the other fish porridges I've had, perhaps could have used more salt Noodle rice roll- not sure why my aunt ordered no meat, but it was free since she has a rewards card for coming here so much. I'd rather have it with me. Essentially these are all of my favorite Cantonese dishes and they all passed the test to eat again. read more

I ordered the Chicken Chowmein and thought it required some "doctoring" (I.e., soy sauce and a little fish sauce) it was delicious! My son had pork fried rice and he gobbled it up! The reason I only gave them 4 stars was because the Chicken Chowmein was too bland before I made additions at home. Yes, we did takeout but the restaurant has dine-in too with great ambiance and competitive prices. read more

N'Joy is conveniently located in Elk Grove by Costco and Nordstrom. The restaurant is pretty small and kind of busy during lunch and dinner times. It's expected since that's when they get the most to-go orders and customer's dining in. Let's talk food! Some of my favorites are the roasted duck over rice, deep fried tofu, fried rice with dried scallops, and the porridge. I'm not a big fan of their rice noodle rolls. The beef chow fun is also a little too greasy for my liking. I love that anytime I'm craving Chinese food I can come here for a quick bite. The service here needs some improvement. After getting food served, you usually don't see your server again unless you flag them down. If you haven't given this place a try, you should! There are a lot more yummy items on the menu I have yet to try. I will come back to try them soon. read more

(Because she was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes) I walk into the restaurant and explained to the gentleman that my wife ordered. I was told they were still making it. OK cool. 15 minutes later the Second Gentleman asks me if I had been helped. I explain again that my wife ordered. He tells the first gentleman to check on the order. Ten minutes later my wife walked in an explained what she ordered and who she was. Two, three minutes later. Order ready. This is the first time, I've had to go through this. Next time, I'll go to two or three other places in Elk Grove Not going to be treated that bad again. Food was very tasty, had the string beans in garlic and butter, Peking spare ribs, pork buns, and pot stickers. All the food was great. Service was a little spotty, they were very busy but we had to remind them about one of our dishes. Also know that dishes come out as they finish so you don't get it all at the same time, but that doesn't bother us at all. Will be eating here again for sure. Someone said standard Chinese fare, I'm not sure where they normally get Chinese food but this menu is huge and has a lot more choices that anywhere around Elk Grove, it was all better tasting as well. read more

N'Joy Cafe is one of my parents' favorite places to eat. We get food to go often when they're in town. N'Joy serves a wide variety of Chinese food that has something for everyone's tastes. My parents love porridge and N'Joy's pork and preserved egg is one of the best. It's scrumptious and filling. It's the perfect dish for cold weather. They also love the spare ribs in honey chili. It's sweet and not very spicy. We pair this with the fired rice with chicken and salted fish. It can get pretty salty, but the sweetness of the pork balances it out. Personally, I like the eggplant with minced pork and house special noodles. When I'm in a soup mood, I'll get the braised beef and noodle soup. This dish can be hit or miss. Sometimes the braised beef can be pretty tough or have too many tendons. This restaurant is in the Costco strip mall near the Crumbl. Sometimes parking can be a bit tough, especially during the weekend. Because the strip mall N'Joy is located is near the Costco gas station, it can sometimes be tough getting into their parking lot. Service here is efficient and timely. The food comes out fresh and quickly right after I've ordered. All in all, food from here has been pretty solid. There are still quite a few items on their menu that I'd like to try, but it's hard to stray from our tried and true items. read more

Since our first visit, I've ordered via delivery a few times and haven't been disappointed. However after today's visit for food to-go, I'll probably think twice, or just stick to delivery only so I don't have to deal with service. I came in to order takeout for hot & sour soup, house pan fried noodles and a drink, so nothing too complicated. She told me it would be about 10-15 minutes so I stayed and waited inside with my son. 15 minutes passed but I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was getting a little busier, but finally went up to ask about my order after 25 mins of waiting. The guy pulls my drink out of the fridge and my food was all bagged sitting there waiting. I asked wow how long has it been sitting here? And he told me he had just started work so he didn't know. I had been at the restaurant for 25 minutes and he was working there the entire time! I was hungry and annoyed by the whole situation so I didn't want to put in the effort to argue and just walked out. I'd probably give a 2-star rating for that but I did enjoy my house special pan fried noodles. It's a generous portion even with all the toppings and I liked the sauce. I was disappointed by the size of my drink though. I got the green tea with mango ice cream and it was $5, so I was expecting a large size. It was the small size!! I decided to check out N'Joy Cafe for myself despite the mixed reviews. Understandably, people have different palates and expectations for service. Having grown up with Cantonese style food from Hong Kong, I can attest to the authenticity of the dishes here. Service isn't bad, just slow at times. It's a newish place and I'm glad they're getting so much business. Ordered out for dinner the other day. We ordered Peking spareribs, fried chicken wings, pork fried rice and chicken chow mien. Everything was good. The portions were ok to. I love the chicken wings. The spareribs are a little fatty but good. The chow mien had a lot of chicken and bokchoy which I like. I feel that the price is a little high for the quality of the food. I "N'Joy Cafe" chinese dishes! This is a small hidden treasure for Chinese food lovers! Check out the photos of some delicious orders! We had beef asparagus, salt baked spareribs(salt and pepper pork chops), and sautéed vegetable medley! (Yum!) the place is pretty small but should be able to serve more than 8 people in a group. Came into town late and wanted something nearby and quick. I will always have a fondness for Cantonese food, so this was it. Being from out of town, I'm at a disadvantage... I'm a little deprived of having a good number of Asian restaurants..so I will take advantage anytime ... Restaurant is small but very spacious and open.. I like when you have a clear view of the kitchen.. Ordered a little too much, so I had my son stop by and help out with the food. Chicken chow mein was a very big portion.. very flavorful.. Appetizer-calamari was good and a little spicy.. The won ton soup with noodles and had too many noodles and the broth could of had more flavor..dumplings were decent.. Salt & pepper fish was very good! Tender and breaded nicely without grease, and a nice little kick.. Ordered half a duck and it was well worth it! I especially like it when served with plum sauce.. Right off you should know that it is really easy to spend over $20 per person on lunch here. I will never eat here again. BBQ pork was at room temperature. Was looking for canto style food/breakfast and drove 40 mins out here to try this place. What I love is that they have the shrimp rice rolls and a whole bunch of unique dishes like taro with clam pot but because I came at opening time at 10a, the back chef wasn't in yet so the menu was limited. Wasn't able to try that dish and other ones I came to try. It's okay though. I was still able to eat some things I wanted. Their duck is crispy and their wonton soup wasn't that salty which was good for my taste. They have some specials listed on their walls that aren't on their menu. For whatever reason, I'm skeptical of any Chinese restaurants that are located in EG...actually, I guess the reason is because I feel like all the good, local ones are in Sac. I was pleasantly surprised by N'Joy. We tried two dishes: Deep Fried Cod Fillet with Spicy Salt & Pepper and Pan Fried Noodle with Beef & Tomato Sauce. They were both good, but the cod was my favorite of the two. The cod was light and didn't taste super greasy even though it's deep fried. Both dishes had good flavor. Service was polite and friendly. N'Joy is conveniently located by Costco. They also offer boba drinks, but unfortunately I can't comment on the taste of those since I wasn't in the mood for a sugary beverage when I stopped by. Side note: There seemed to be a weird, strong smell when I stepped into the restaurant - perhaps bleach? In any case, I didn't have to deal with the smell long since we had ordered to go. read more

On the evening of 1/10/2025 my wife and I ordered a bunch of food. She ordered different food than mine. Less than 24 hrs later both of us had really bad diarrhea. I fell asleep on the couch and I did somethingI haven't done since I was a baby in diapers. I shit myself while I was sleeping. Either something in the food was rotten and spoiled, their kitten is unclean or a cook has nasty bathroom hands. The health Department needs do an inspection. I'm betting that anyone who ordered food from them got sick. N'joy, you have lost a customer for life and I am going to decorate and warn anyone thinking of ordering their Nasty tainted food. Came here for indoor dining during lunch! We were seated quickly and got our food soon after ordering, luckily before the lunch rush came. Pretty good portions at reasonable prices! I ordered Wintermelon Lemon Tea, Congee with preserved egg and duck, Beef Noodle Soup with wonton, and String Bean. The wintermelon lemon tea was overtly sweet but had the right flavors. The congee was really big and had lots of pork and the thousand year egg - yum! I'm always on the fence about ordering rice porridge since I could make it at home, but there's something about the ones restaurants make that hit different. I liked the wontons from the noodle soup, and the soup base was pretty mild (in a good way- not too overpowering). Came in on a Saturday night around 6. This place is pretty busy but we got seated right away. Parking is not fun so just park on the side of olive garden. Got the roast duck, fish and tofu clay pot, beef chow fun, and a winter melon drink! The food is pretty good but not super flavorful. I like how they have boba that you can also order. I'm a sucker for basil popcorn chicken so seeing this place have it on the menu encouraged me to check this place out. Many of the food items here include Chinese family-style dishes such as fried rice, chow fun, clay pot entrees, and sizzling plates, but I went with the "small bites" route and ordered basil popcorn chicken, egg puffs, rice noodle roll w/ BBQ pork as well as brown sugar fresh milk. Basil popcorn chicken: pretty tasty! Chicken was tender. Also really good portion for the price. If I wanted to be really nit picky, I wished that the chicken had less of a thick flour batter to it. Still, I strongly recommend ordering this especially if you're craving for some popcorn chicken. Egg puffs: not the crispy-shells kind that I was hoping for but it was still addicting to eat. Was surprised on how large it was; it was like a mini blanket lol. Fluffy with slight sweetness. Rice noodle roll w/ BBQ pork: I saw a bunch of pics of the rice noodle rolls here and decided to choose the one containing BBQ pork. The rice noodle rolls were very silky. There wasn't much of a taste to them but I think this dish is meant to showcase mainly their texture. The BBQ pork was pretty much just there as pops of color because the pork pieces were so tiny I couldn't really grasp any taste from them. Brown sugar fresh milk: refreshing! I got it at 50% sweetness (my go-to sweetness level in general) but I may could have gotten away with getting it at even 80% sweetness because I appreciated the brown sugar taste a lot. I also got the drink with pudding, but I don't recommend this add-on as it remained in one whole glob making me have to tear the cup lid just to scoop it out to eat. Overall pretty solid opening to this place. A few kinks in the food/drink but I still enjoyed (or should I say "n'joyed," hyuck hyuck!) them and am still willing to try the other items here! read more

I went to N'Joy with my friend before seeing a movie. I is very close to where I live, but there is a ton of Chinese restaurants in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. They have traditional Chinese dishes along with exotic dishes that will make the Chinese native happy. We had Mongolian Beef and pan Dried noodles with Pork. Food was fresh and delicious. The best thing I found there was that they have Duck, amazing. I will definitely be back and try the duck next time. This is in the Costco shopping Center and is definitely worth a try. read more

Came back a second time to try their chow fun...I've been craving it and recently also tried some at Well Season, so I was prepared to compare. - beef chow fun: came out steamy hot! Has the wok char taste, but it could use a little more char...just enough seasoning/salt. The beef was tender. It had just enough bean sprouts, green onion, and regular onion. It's just what you'd expect out of a standard beef chow fun. - shrimp and scrambled egg chow fun: I got this since other yelpers had gotten it, and it looked delicious. Came out very hot as well! Compared to Well Season (peep my pictures), I liked N'joy's version better because their scrambled egg wasn't super thick...a bit runnier like egg drop soup or fish maw soup. It seemed to have a white pepper taste, which I really liked, and it looked like there was white pepper dusting to confirm. The shrimp was cooked perfectly...could use a few more shrimp though! The green onions were a nice finishing touch, compared to Well Season's, which seemed a bit plain in comparison. This dish also had a bit of a char appearance and taste...more so that the beef chow fun. I ended up liking this shrimp and scrambled egg one than the beef one! Good place for a quick and simple comfort-food meal in the Elk Grove area. My daughter wanted chicken with rice and I stumbled upon this place nearby! The chicken was mediocre; a bit chewy and not tender as how an empress chicken should taste. The few pieces of broccoli the entree came with was bland, soggy and over-cooked. The wonton egg noodle soup I ordered was good, but underwhelming. Really wish there was more noodles to really make this bowl more fulfilling and satisfying! I seriously was still hungry after, lol! The bowl also came with a few cabbage leaves and pretty tasty pork wontons with a few small pieces of shrimp inside. I like this place. It's in a spot close to home. The staff are authentic Chinese people and the food tastes pretty good. I like that the food was not too greasy. The duck is a bit oily, but that is expected. We ordered an array of foods considering this is just a soft opening. The duck was flavorful, not too salty and the skin was crispy. I have not ordered Chinese duck before so I have no reference, but overall I would say it was good enough for my tastebuds. I think the shrimp in noodle rolls should have had the shrimp inside of the noodles instead of just accompanying it, the way dim sum places have it. The sauce outside the noodles was just ok. It could improve. The honey walnut prawns had a slightly peculiar flavor to the oil...not sure of foods cook in the oil prior to cooking the shrimp had been debased from the other food causing my honey walnut prawns to taste slightly lemony/lime flavored, however the shrimp had a crisp like breading to it. My sizzling seafood in black bean sauce was quite tasty though. That was the 4 star item. I would definitely order it again! The salt and pepper wings were really quite yummy as well. For a cafe, this place is 4 stars. For a sit down restaurant, there are better places I have found. I will be back to try out the boba! read more

We were so excited to see that N'Joy Cafe has opened and decided we couldn't wait to check it out. It's located in the same shopping plaza as Costco on Elk Grove Blvd, which is convenient for those who shop at this Costco. Upon entering the cafe, it's pretty spacious with high ceilings and really gives you that Cantonese cafe vibe. We waited by the entrance and were seated shortly. We decided on few classic dishes to try, such as the beef chow fun , tofu, mushroom and veggie dish, chow main, and rice noodle roll. The beef chow fun tasted fresh and had a really good wok flavor so we enjoy this dish. The tofu in the tofu dish was on the firmer side for my liking but wasn't bad. The chow mein had good favor but felt for the price it was on the smaller side. The rice noodle roll was freshly made so would recommend getting this dish. Overall, the food was pretty good and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, they ran out of duck by the time we ordered so will return to try that. read more

Ordered here through DoorDash for the fifth time! The food is consistently delicious! I ask them to make the Fried Rice with Shrimps 鮮蝦炒飯 and the Lamb Meat with Black Pepper Sauce 鐵板椒羊肉 spicy and it just has the perfect amount of heat! They don't skimp on the shrimp and the lamb as you can tell by the pictures. The Fried Rice with Shrimps 鮮蝦炒飯 had 7-8 pieces of shrimp and I think that's a lot compared to the amount of what other restaurants give. The portions are generous-- I'm pretty sure this can easily feed 3 people. It's just me, so this food lasts me 2-3 days; even on the third day, the food still tastes delicious-- That's how you know they make everything with fresh and quality ingredients.
