Came across this booth at the Folsom Market, and the lack of people should've been a red flag. I was in the mood for Turkish delight or baklava, so I decided to give them a chance. The man at the booth was pushy and claimed they had Turkish delight (not true). He charged us $33 for just 8 pieces in a container. When I asked how fresh it was, he said, "oh maybe a day." No samples were available, which was another bad sign. The pistachio and fig baklava (which is what we ended up receiving) was the worst we've ever tasted -- old, with a strange plastic aftertaste. We ended up throwing it away at home. We go to this market regularly, but we will definitely avoid this vendor in the future -- and based on other reviews, I'd suggest others do the same. read more

Farmers market at mahaney. The dude is there almost every Sunday. The food is overpriced. But cheaper than door dashing. Palak paneer: smoky and delicious Eggplant boryani: amazing. The yogurt is thick and creamy and the eggplant is tangy. Chana masala: a little bland but tasty Lemon daal: bland but toddler liked it Garlic naan: ok, I felt it was a bit greasy You can bargain with the guy. I just went to the farmers market at Mahany park and the man selling food from Naan Tikka absolutely scammed me. I told him I just wanted two containers of chicken tikka masala and two garlic naan bread's. Tell me how I was charged $83?? He kept quickly throwing in items I did not ask for, then telling me "oh here for you" and "no here take this, a deal for you." So I was under the impression he was just giving me things out of generosity because he also mentioned "we are closing soon so here take these too." I was very wrong. Naan Tikka is a food stand that appears at various farmer's markets in Sacramento and sells Pakistani food - naan, curries, samosas, and other items. This review is only for the samosas that I purchased. I came across Naan Tikka on Wednesday at the farmers market on Capitol Mall around lunchtime. The worker or owner convinced me to get a bag of samosas. They had chicken samosas and vegetable samosas and I was originally given chicken, however, he exchanged it for vegetable because he said the chicken samosas were very spicy. They were normally 5 pieces for $10, however, since the market was closing, he gave me a discount to $7. I brought the samosas back to my desk to eat, but when I pulled one out to try, the samosa was cold and the skin wasn't crispy. It was not that enjoyable. I probably should have known better since the market started at 10:00am and it was 1:30pm by the time I tried it. I decided to bring the rest home to eat another time when I had access to a toaster oven. I toasted up 2 pieces the next day in the toaster over, and yes, it was better hot and a little toasted, but definitely not the same as when it would have been freshly made. The inside flavor of the samosa was not bad, but I definitely feel like it would have been better fresh and with the dipping sauce you normally get at restaurants. I didn't try other items that Naan Tikka sold, but the packages of naan looked really good and the curries and other food items looked good. If you do get the samosas, try to get them when the market is closer to opening time so they are fresh. The veggie samosas are mildly spicy and the chicken samosas are spicy. read more

A constant at the midtown farmers market! The food is delicious and you can never go wrong with any of their offerings. The vendor is very welcoming and passionate about what he does, explaining in great detail every item, and is eager to share his recommendations. He caters to what his customers want too, adjusting his menu every so often to accommodate what people want. We got the veggie samosas, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, dal curry, and garlic naan. Each of them was bursting with deliciousness and I wish they came in bigger containers! I'm so thankful authentic Pakistan food is so accessible to me. The only downside is definitely the cost. The prices aren't posted so I was surprised when our total came out to $42 for the 5 items, and that already included the $4 discount the vendor graciously gave us. So grand total would've been $46. I paid in cash so I don't believe I was charged a cc transaction fee either. Even for the farmers market, that's on the premium side! If I could give a no stars for customer service I would. The gentleman that ran the stand at the Kaiser is Roseville he was very rude and pushy. I was just checking out what he had didn't want to try any. He keeps wanting me to try some. When I told him I am ok as I was walking away he said that's a waste of time. I have seen them at the Capitol Mall Farmers market for a while so I decided to try them. Got two small dishes (chicken tikka masala and chicken curry), order of garlic naan bread and at the recommendation of the seller the vegetable samosas, all for $33.99. All items were cold, so I had to reheat them at the office. The chicken tikka masala had a sour taste and didn't finish it. The chicken curry was ok. The samosas were blah. I should have read the reviews by others and would have avoided this place. Definitely not worth what I paid for. Next time I'll drive to a restaurant where the food is warm, prices are disclosed, and the flavors are consistent. read more

Naan Tikka sets up a small store nearly every Sunday at Mahany Park Farmers Market, at Mahany Park, located in Roseville, CA. The booth isn't exactly a restaurant, as the specialize in naan bread, along with a small selection of Pakistani condiments. However, if you are a lover of samosas - like I am - they sell freshly baked samosas, ready to enjoy, which make for a great snack, or a light lunch. Mahany Park Farmers Market is an event that happens every Sunday, from 09:00 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon, weather permitting. The event always includes several food vendors, who operate on a rotating basis, so each time you attend the event, and I've noticed that Naan Tikka is a regular vendor. Besides food, there are booths that offer mostly locally-made artisan crafts, condiments and lots of farm-fresh produce grown on area ranches. The amazing cuisine offered by Naan Tikka certainly compliments the family-friendly atmosphere this fine every-Sunday event offers. The fare is samosas, Pakistani delicacies including Chana Masala, eggplant Borani and Chicken Tikka Masala. But... the "star" of the show is NAAN BREAD, both plain and garlic. A taste of Karachi in Roseville! I went with a package of "Naan Garlic Bread," along with an order of "Samosas," as there isn't a samosa on the planet that I don't love. In each package, Naan Tikka gives you three slices of garlic naan bread, which will keep your taste buds happy for a day or two. Each package of "Samosas" includes five delicious "Samosas," which makes for a perfect snack, or for a light lunch. One bite into a "Samosa," and I was rewarded with all of the goodness. The dough was perfectly deep fried to a deep golden brown, and thin, resembling a wonton. The filling was what you find on the streets of Karachi, as it was made of chickpeas, potatoes with coriander for seasoning, and on the spicy side, which gave it a little "kick," and made this samosa a taste sensation. I'm not an expert on Pakistani cuisine, but I know samosas vary depending on which part of the country you're visiting, and the samosas sold on the streets of Karachi tend to be on the spicy side, which is exactly what I enjoyed on this beautiful, mid-May morning. Simply delicious! A slice of heaven... a slice of " Garlic Naan Bread" freshly baked from Naan Tikka, with lots of garlic, cilantro, and plenty of flavor. The bread was soft and lightly golden toasted, tender, with lots of flavor. I could taste the ghee the bread was brushed with, along with LOTS of garlic, and delicious diced cilantro to add to the amazing flavor. The bread was baked early in the morning, and rushed to Mahany Park for the 09:00 in the morning opening time of the farmers market, so it was tender, fresh, and full of flavor. I've never been to Pakistan, but I'm guessing when I close my eyes, and bite into this amazing piece of naan, I could be instantly be transported to the streets or Karachi, or Islamabad. Delicious in any sense of the word, or the continent! Found this gem at the Midtown Farmers Market. The food is excellent, it was so good that my husband Googled them immediately after eating his first plate. He wanted to see if they had a restaurant b/c this was some of the best Indian/Pakistani food we have tried. The spices used in the dishes gave everything lots of flavor. We made a plate with daal, chaana masala, spinach paneer, eggplant, garlic naan, and samosas. Everything was excellent. The containers are deceiving b/c I didn't think we'd get 2 nights of meals from them but we did. For those that are complaining about price - we paid $50 for 4 containers of food, 1 order of naan and 1 bag of samosas. With that we got 4 full meals and we are healthy eaters. That seems very reasonable for a small restaurant business. We will def be back for more. read more

Some people on here complaining about the price (what else is new with Yelp), but the price is average for similar farmers market to-go items. The food however is excellent, honestly we just had to look them up after having it for dinner, to see if they had a restaurant we can go to. I guess not, so I will just have to hit them up at the farmers market every week. We have tried a lot of Indian food from the New York area, when we lived in LA, and here in Sac. Yes this is Pakistani so maybe that's why it's a little different. Either way, it some of the best we've had. Very bright and acidic, tons of flavor. We are not light eaters, and will get 4 full meals from 4 containers, naan, and samosas. Daal, Chaana masala, spinach paneer, and the eggplant. All 5 star. read more

Picked up a few items at the Farmers Market in Roseville. The garlic naan and chicken samosas were good and I would buy again, both had lots of flavor. I also purchased the chicken tikka masala and chicken curry and was horribly disappointed. Both tasted exactly the same and the only flavor in either of them was tomato paste. Not worth the $9 cost for a small serving size of very bland chicken dishes. I was at a local farmers market outside of Kaiser in Folsom and I thought to bring my coworkers some food as I was heading into the office right after. I was talked into getting an order of veggie samosa, 2 orders of garlic naan, and Marsala, I had thought the gentleman said it was a deal for $25.00 however after checking my bank statement I was charged $53!
