Tried this place after the gazillion IG reels seen on this place. We went on a Saturday evening which was a mistake especially with kids. We live up north so this is a hike to get to. The food and the thali was worth the price. I'm knocking one star of due to the seating situation. It was horrible. There are people who finds seats and reserved them before even getting their food. We tried this new restaurant last week. We ordered a few curries and naan and the masala fries. Everything was delicious. The naan is made fresh to order. I really loved the garlic yogurt dipping sauce I want to slather it on everything. We will definitely be back to try some of their other foods! I only wish they had an actual person to take your order and not just an iPad screen because if you have questions nobody is really around to ask just the people cooking in the kitchen. Let me tell you, when this rang up for less than $10 I was worried that either the portion was going to be small, I pressed the wrong button, or they are just that damn cheap! I grabbed my drink and sat down waiting for order #23, the cashier yelled #29!!! We have a question about your order...way to go dummy!! Well, that dummy was me. A tip for ordering here, the buttons you press on the kiosk is not to ADD ingredients to the bowl, it's to take them off, so here I was pressing all the stuff I wanted, but in reality I removed everything. She seemed annoyed at first but was quick to explain to me what the issue was, great recovered and response, I felt less stupid but still embarrassed. My order finally came up and it was a massive bowl filled with a dozen different toppings on a bed of basmati rice. I looked at the bowl with my nose turned up because I'm not a big risk taker when it comes to food, so with this thing piled high with 12+ unknown ingredients I was hesitant. But that first bite caused my head to explode. The chicken was covered in this orange creamy sauce of love (I don't know the real name, so we will call it love sauce) It had corn and pickled onion and a mint yogurt sauce, cucumbers which I think are nasty but gave this dish a delightful fresh taste, which shocked the hell out of me. Overall I've never had so many ingredients in one bowl actually bring the flavors of each other out and not turn into this big glob of mess that tasted like a one note bowl after 4 bites. Until the very end and every bite was a different experience, for the price and quantity I will 100% be back and glad that this was my first review. Wish they had some system to have tables assigned based on your order number ? If you are not someone who is aggressive enough to grab a table as soon as it's emptied , then it's not a place for you. Now that that's out of the way, let's dive into what makes a good pick to satisfy the whole family, but might not hit the mark for the more foodie-minded in your group. First, Naansense is another of Venture Kitchen's portfolio companies, joining the likes of Invicto and Naf Naf, all popular ventures with varying degree of investment. This means that you can expect the same fast-casual, order yourself concept, with minimal staff interaction. The décor is "on theme," but feels like it was mass produced, with the intent of growing this into a national chain, again, par for the course for Venture Kitchen. Onto the food. My party came for lunch and was excited about the possibility of trying a few different things. Here's what we ordered, along with our thoughts: 1. Lamb kebab plate - Lamb was good, albeit a bit salty. It tasted more like a lamb burger than a seekh kebab. While it was missing a few spices, it was still tasty. 2. Paneer plate - Paneer had a similar issue as the lamb, it was salty, not seasoned. Additionally, it wasn't as acidic as paneer typically is, maybe it was halloumi instead. The chana masala that accompanied this plate also suffered from a similar lack of seasoning. The chickpeas were cooked well, though. 3. Chicken tikka bowl - By now, you've probably detected a theme with the protein. The rice in this bowl was fine, the sides, also fine. 4. Fries - these were the star of the show. I should've led with these. The fries were every Midwesterners dream - crispy, but still soft on the inside. Seasoned, but still a blank canvas meant for dipping. And dipping we did! naansense had an array of sauces to choose from, all with varying spice and taste profiles. 5. Mango lassi - overly sweet, they definitely use that mix with xanthan gum in it to thicken it. Now onto the service. The "brand accelerator," Venture Kitchen has removed any front-of-house staff to cut costs. You order at a kiosk (in the back of the restaurant, mind you) and sit and wait for them to call your number. The signage for this kiosk needs to be a bit more apparent. Additionally, this system means parts of your order will be forgotten! While I have no problem that there were two items from our order forgotten, the real issue arose when we realized that the back-of-house workers were actively discouraged from engaging with guests. When we tried to speak with them, they hid! When the manager came up and we highlighted the missing items, he glared at his staff while demanding the missing paneer and lassi. The bottom line? This place will definitely fit everyone's palate - as you can see, it has a broad array of food, and most flavors are accessible without being too spicy. Plus, there's always the fries. read more

The kiosk ordering situation is great if the people ahead of you are adept at it - otherwise you're kind of stuck. The lamb curry was SO good but a bit too spicy for me (I have zero spice tolerance). The garlic naan were excellent. The gulab jamun were unlike that I've had at other Indian restaurants, but still tasty. My husband got the lamb korma and loved it - that's definitely what I'll get next time. The stars here were the masala fries and the condiments. These fries - holy MOLY they are good. Served hot, fresh, creamy potato-y goodness inside and crispy, well seasoned exterior. I could have eaten just the fries and had an amazing meal. Next, the condiments - the curry mayo? On the aforementioned amazing fries? GET OUTTA HERE. Such a delicious combo. Also their green mint chutney? STOP. I mean just fresh, well balanced, incredibly delicious.
