It was my husbands birthday so we came to Atlanta from Augusta and I had a list of places I wanted to try while we were up there. This was one. We came for lunch and not only was the staff AMAZING and so helpful but the food was to die for. It was SO good that we ordered food to take home . The samosas were so so good. I wished they had ones with meat in them. The chicken rice bowl was amazing and OMG that rosewater lemonade is to die for, so refreshing. Downtown Naan Stop has been consistently superb right from the start and continues to hit the mark every time. Every single thing on the menu is excellent: obviously, the Chicken Tikka is a must for carnivores, but don't overlook the many yummy veg dishes. Pleasantly surprised! This place is similar to the Chipotle food line concept. You choose what you want and they put it together for you. Fast and easy service! I've always walked by this place but never thought to try it. So for one of Yelp's restaurant weeks, I decided to grab a bite during my break. I'm SO glad I gave this place a try because I found my new favorite lunch spot! Like other restaurants on Broad Street, this place gets crowded during lunch hour. However, it is definitely worth the wait. There is seating inside, but you might be opted to take it to-go since it gets packed pretty often. When you stand in line, the menu is displayed over head. They give you steps on how to order (I think you start on the right side of the menu). You choose whether you want a wrap or rice bowl. I like getting the rice bowl. From there, you just choose what protein, veggies, and sauces you want in there. My favorite is the brown rice bowl with Chicken Tikka Masala, chickpeas, and corn salad. All of there sauces are good, so I would recommend trying one according to your heat preference. The only thing I would say is that the portions for the rice bowls are a little small for the price. Overall I've had good experiences with the food and service here and will definitely make this my new lunch spot. read more

It's pretty much an Indian chipotle. I had higher expectations though, so I was a little disappointed. I got a veggie bowl with the palak paneer. As well as a samosa. The palak paneer I though could have had more flavor; the whole bowl was overall bland even though I added the sauce and chutneys and corn. Tiki Masala Paneer Sandwich - came with paneer, spinach, grilled peppers and the choice of sauce. I got yogurt cucumber on side.The naan, they cooked to order. The girl was literally shapeing bread as I ordered. They brushed it with, what I assume was butter and fired it up. Hardy. Flavorful. Also, they were kind enough to let me get side of punjab dal, which wasn't on menu. This was good. Lentils and some red beans. And completely vegan. Very flexible staff. Kind. Reasonable prices. Me and my girlfriend stopped there at her suggestion (I really wanted Rosa's pizza next door but I knew I needed to eat healthier) and were greeted warmly by the workers and I told them that I never had Indian food before so I tried out the tiki marsala. I was hooked instantly! That yogurt, the chicken and rice had a flavor that was indescribable it was so good! The owner said that it was his mother's recipe. Salut to mom! Peachtree mall now called hub is my to go place for a quick lunch but since I have tried most of the places there I decided to explore nearby places and naan stop was my first stop. It's a nice small place with limited seating. The menu is not very elaborate and with the same ingredients you can either get a rice bowl, naan roll or salad. I opted for the rice bowl which comes with a choice of two proteins, a choice of chutney and unlimited toppings. I opted for chicken tikka masala bowl selecting both my proteins as chicken, yoghurt chutney and grilled onion as my topping. Everything came together perfectly and the food was delicious. Tikka masala was neither too spicy nor oily. Rice was sautéed in spices which added a great flavor. Cherry on the top were the grilled onions. My first visit to NaanStop was on their first day of opening--I was probably within the first ten customers--they had signage up asking to excuse any missteps in their workflow. I'm happy to say that aside from some issues with the register, the ordering process here was, for the most part, pretty easy and relatively quick when there's not a huge line. My first meal here, a Naanwich with Chicken Tikka Masala with fries, was something of a soggy mess: the Naanwich erupted sauce from its ends with every bite, and after a few minutes delay in eating, the fries were that odd combination of nicely crispy where dry and limply soggy where drowned in sauce. I've returned twice since then to opt for the rice bowl, which handles the sauce far better than the bread. While this necessitates (well, 'necessitates" for this carb-addict) ordering a side of naan to up the price of a lunch closer to ten dollars (depending on what you get), my last visit gave me a sizeable amount of food for a decent value. My advice: if you're having a Naanwich, get the sauce on the side. If you have a rice bowl, get additional sauce on the side. Ask for sauce on the side for the fries. read more

A new addition to the GSU Fairlie-Poplar food scene, Naan Stop is the Chipotle of Indian food, featuring quick service and a simple menu at a reasonable price. 1st star - GSU students haven't ruined the line Naan opened up the same week GSU students returned for Fall semester. Thankfully, this influx of a thousand college kids pouring out of class around Noon every day hasn't hindered the line at Naan. Walk in to the door opposite Rosa's Pizza and you will PROBABLY be at the end of a long line of people waiting to place an order at the Naan counter. Don't worry -- it'll move fast. The Panther fans haven't managed to make it an excruciatingly long wait. They COULD benefit from a "queue" like the Chipotle counter, but whatever -- it's still moving fast enough to not make you hungrier. 2nd, 3rd and 4th stars - Simple, inexpensive menu Naan's menu is like Chipotle's: 1. You get 3 choices of entree (Salad, Naan-wich, or rice bowl) 2. You get 4-5 choices of protein (Chicken, turkey kabob, chola, paneer, lamb) 3. Ask for extra protein sauce, get optional grilled peppers / onions 4. Ask for complementary sauces There are extras, just like Chipotle -- masala fries, samosas and naan (bread). Their sauces are simple too -- yogurt-based, apple-tamarind chutney (my favorite), coconut mint (hot), and chili cilantro (Native Indian hot). I get the yogurt and chutney sauces with my $6 chicken tikka masala rice bowl. I do not like their hot sauce -- it's like mint sherbet. Their darker Native Indian hot sauce is pretty hot (for me), and it didn't really improve the flavor that much. Did mention $6? It's a good-size bowl of rice and meat and vegetables for that price. The lamb is the most expensive at $8, but it looks really good. I don't think the Naan-wich is worth it -- you get less food in a naan wrapper, I think. Lost 5th star - Reserved for a future update I'm very happy to see NaanStop on Broad Street. It's fast, good, cheap food. I stopped in here on a whim with one of my classmates after class. I remember sampling their food at the Yelp Holiday bash and immediately dashed in the door. NaanStop has a very casual atmosphere and very simple menu: 1)Choose your naan (or rice bowl) 2)choose your filling 3) Choose your sauce 4)add a samosa (well you don't have to but you can't leave here and NOT have a samosa). I had a regular Naan(should have tried the garlic...they were trying their best to entice my classmate and I), with the chicken tikka with the grilled veggies and spinach. I had the spicy sauce, I think it's the one with coconut in it. The sandwich paired with the samosa: DEEEEVIIINEEEE OMG I was so so full after that food. And it was delicious. NaanStop is my saving grace the handful of weekends each year I find myself downtown and in need of a midday meal. While numerous other lunchtime favorites in this area only operate Monday-Friday, NaanStop is also open for lunch on Saturdays, saving me from many a lackluster meal at the Peachtree Center Mall foodcourt. They have tables inside and out, and you order, pay and get your food from the counter. I usually stick with one of the salad options as my base, and I appreciate that they have dark, leafy greens rather than iceberg or even romaine. The lamb curry is one of the more expensive meat options, but it's my favorite and worth the extra buck or two. However, it is one of the "soupier" meats, so make sure to request that the server drain it extra well before ladling on top of your salad. The mixed grilled onions and peppers make a good addition as well, and you can't go wrong with any of the chutneys, though I like the mint best with the lamb. Beverages area self serve from a Coke fountain, which I appreciate because of the self serve refills, but also because they offer both diet coke and coke zero for all your calorie free caffeine needs. My only advice to the business? Turn the darn music down! I can't even hear myself think because it's blasting so loudly, and conversation with your dining companion is impossible. This should have been a four-star rating. But when you serve someone in my party, and then pass me over *twice* to serve other customers, I'm going to get a little torqued off about that. Having said that, the food here was good. My fellow Atlantans should welcome this "fast-food" counter with no hesitation. NaanStop is applying a "fast casual" approach to their sandwich & bowl creations that'll you'll recognize in certain burrito and pizza establishments. (Think Chipotle or Willy's for Indian-food.) You pick your carbs (a naanwich or some rice) and top it with your choice of meat (or paneer or whatever) add some chutneys, maybe some grilled onions & peppers, and you're done. The end result (for a naanwich) is a messy but delicious creation that certainly is a fast and casual take Indian home-cooking. AND they have a real tandoori-oven in the kitchen. My chicken-tikka naanwhich was tasty. The lamb curry looked really, really good. I'll have to try that next time. NaanStop is also vegeterian friendly, and the samosas (vegan) are a hit. MEH. Recently opened a few months ago off Broad Street, which is a good spot to attract customers of all ages. Not to mention the only Indian Restaurant off that strip. Smacked in the heart of downtown, there are a lot of businessmen and students from Georgia State University nearby. The food. I've just had better (places in Decatur off Scott Blvd & Gwinnett Co.). I went with a few friends that know indian food very well and we were all tired of our entree after a few bites. It's not bad nor is it good. Just very plain. The side sauces does help to an extent. The samosa is usually something people would rave about. The ones here are fairly big and delicious. Not spicy like ones I have had since they can't really cater that to all crowds. Other than that, they are definitely busy everytime I walk pass, but considering they're the only restaurant that serves Indian food around the area--explains a whole lot. I'd tried the samosa at the Yelp holiday party years ago and loved it, but hadn't had the chance to make it down town to try out NaanStop. So when the opportunity presented itself to have lunch downtown, NaanStop was top of my list. At 11:45, there was only 1 other patron. I stepped up to the counter, quickly perused the menu (which is like Chipotle, as others have mentioned), and chose the Chicken tikka masala naanwich with peppers and onions on garlic naan with coconut-mint-cilantro and yogurt-cilantro chutneys. I also got the masala fries and a samosa, and chose the guava juice as my beverage. The naanwich was messy, even slowly removing the wrapper like a burrito as others mentioned. This isn't the creamy red tomato chicken tikka masala to which I'm accustomed from Indian buffets, but it was still tasty. I should have asked for more spinach. The masala fries were good, starting a little crispy, ending up soggy from the sauces, but still pretty tasty. The samosa was as good as I'd remembered. Yumm the chipotle of indian food.... genius idea, how did it take so long to come up with? I got a chicken tikka masala with brown rice, peppers and onions, and apple tamarind chutney and the spiciest green chutney. Yogurt chutney on the side. I was worried that the apple tamarind chutney was going to be too sweet in the bowl but it was the perfect compliment to the salty masala. Props to whoever made the spicy green chutney, I can eat spicy like no other and I found a kick here. I was gonna get a samosa but they did not look appealing under the heat lamp. Great deal with a scoutmob, my bowl came out to under 4 bucks. We came on a nice summer day and sat outside, located in a strip that makes you truly feel like you're in the middle of the city. This is an OK place. A very "Chipotle"esque styled restaurant. This takes away the spice levels that most Indian restaurants offer. However, the pricing is very decent and they do have most of the authentic flavors in the curries bar the spice. Came here because it's close to where I work. I ordered through the ritual app and had a $5 credit so I used it here. Got the rice bowl and garlic naan, and wow everything was so good! I think if you use the ritual app you get a discount too, so I only ended up paying $1.56 for both the items. Amazing right?! Almost didn't order the naan but I'm so glad I did. It was delicious and buttery. Also this location has amazing customer service. They greet you when you walk in and explain everything to you. They even ended up giving me a free desert, some type of fried dough with cinnamon. Said they made an extra one and wanted to see if I would want it. As y'all can tell I love this place and I'm so glad I tried it out because I was kind of skeptical. This was my second visit and last visit. I ordered ahead online and when I arrived my order wasn't ready. I arrived a few mins early so I was ok with waiting. I sat down and waited for my order to be made, this is where I went wrong. Got my order and walked back to the dining area at school where I normally eat. Open my bag, first thing I notice is that there's no napkins or silverware in the bag (strike 1). I pull my naanwich out and unwrap it and my naan is burnt (strike 2). At this point I'm starving and don't have the energy to take the sandwich back and get a new one,so I decide to eat it anyway. I pick up the sandwich and the naan was torn and everything started falling out (strike 3). I'm very disappointed with naan stop, especially since my first visit a few weeks ago went very well. Truly a blessing to you, your tastebuds, your life, and everything else that may seem important to you. Naanstop is styled like your typical walkup and customize restaurant (ie Chipotle, Blaze, etc), but features some of the freshest Indian eats you can snag on the go or sit in. My first time was some time ago but its effect on me has resonated for years. I've given my praise to anyone that would listen but was reminded of that PASSION I felt for this place. It is a must when I go to Atlanta and has attributed to my naming of ATL as Flavorcity Extreme. Yeah bud, EXTREME. Naanstop offers a sandwich called a naanwich, which as you may have guessed is comprised of naan bread. Thing is, this bread is made FRESH, in-house along with EVERYTHING ELSE. I'm sorry but I'm getting excited, hungry and going through the motions. Just understand that the flavors are deep, options are solid for meat eaters and vegetarians, and the staff is as sweet as a honeydew in the moonlight.
