During a family party earlier this year, Nabby's was catered and I remember the food being quite tasty. However, when my husband and I went to the restaurant to eat dinner on a whim one night I was not impressed. I had the italian beef and it was very dry, though I asked for it to be dipped for extra juice. I do have to note that when I went up to the cashier and mentioned how dry my beef was they apologized and put some extra juice in a small dish for me. My husband ordered the gyros and though typically at other establishments the helpings are generous, we found the exact opposite here. I may have just eaten here on an off night for them, but I do not think I would try them again. read more

First time visiting Nabby's. I'm surprised it has been open as long as it has. The gyros included fake, pre-packaged meat and extra grease. The prices were high as well. Smiley's or Pop's would be a much better choice. read more

Got the double cheeseburger with fries. The patties were obviously frozen and tasted horrible. I ordered mine with everything on it and I think they put on pickle slice and one piece of onion on it. The fries were not cooked throughly and also tasted horrible. Will not be going here ever again. read more

Nabby's is a greasy, made to order joint. You realize that when you walk in. It is a fast food establishment and they've been in business a loooong time. The menu is a little too diverse, but I've managed to stick to the specials. My review is based on 4 different catering orders placed over the years with Nabby's. I cannot believe I have not reviewed them before now. Mike and the crew at Nabby's once more did a great job. First of all, he talked me out of a few things.....thinking I was ordering too much food. He could have had a bigger sale, but guess what....he was right. Order went smoothly, he called me back b/c he had a question. On the morning of pick-up everything was ready exactly on-time. All the stuff was nicely boxed up and labeled. Even though I had done the set-up for beef sandwiches before, Mike still walked me through the process. So many people at our tailgate party asked "Is this Portillo's Beef'......and I was happty to say "No, it's from a local restaurant/catering business in my home town of Plainfield.....and don't you think it is better?" Everyone agreed. Mostaccioli was perfect. Mac-n-cheese was great....all the kids loved it, the adults too. They gave us extra red sauce....didn't even need to put it on the pasta. Hot peppers - Awesome. Sweet Peppers - Awesome. Extra Au-jus.....the perfect amount. Mike and the Nabby's crew....THANK YOU. You helped make it a great tailgate party for 120 satisfied football fans. Totally not what I was expecting. They have a huge menu selection, something for everyone, and the food was decent. I had grilled tilapia and my associate had gyros and both were good. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch. read more

Don't get me wrong, the food here is the perfect amount of grease and flavor. The hamburgers and fries are great. The only thing i was upset about was that the cooks were saying sexual remarks about me in spanish and laughing to eachother. I may not look hispanic at all but i heard every word they said and understood it. I don't feel comfortable ordering there again. read more

What saved Nabby's from the standard "no drink refill" 3 yelps is that Nabby's is old school Plainfield, being the stalwart fast food eatery in the village for like a millions years. The shroom burger is top notch, and the cheese fries are worthy of any downtown Chicago grease pit. read more

Had not been to Nabbys in a few years but stopped in to get dinner. Fast, friendly service as always. I had my favorite the poor boy which was very good. Mom got italian beef with sweet peppers which was so huge she can get 3 meals out of it! She said it was a bit dry....could have used some au jus on the side. Mozzarella sticks ok...my concern was the kid making them went to the freezer and came back with the frozen mozzarella sticks in his bare hands NO GLOVES! I sure hope he washed his hands. We just moved into the area and Nabby's was one of the "welcome to the neighborhood" coupons that we got in a welcome pack. We took advantage of the free pizza, and were not disappointed. Its a pretty decent pie, which is surprising from a place called "Nabby's". I usually like my pizza joints to sound a little more Italian, but in this case I'm ok with it. read more

Best thing about winter is Nabby's soup. They're delicious! I'm here at least twice a week (year-round) and try to make it a point to stop in on Fridays for Chicken and rice. The staff is fabulous and the service is fast and friendly. read more

Its an OK place to eat, the fries are good and you get more than you can eat if you order a large. The beef sandwiches are blah, and I have to order a side cup of cheese to give them some life. The hot dogs are run of the mill, and so is the rest of the menu. If you are looking for an average Hot dog / Hamburger joint it will do. Warning!!!! Do not order the soft serve ice cream, it is the worst you will ever have. It has a taste that can only be described as plastic. Ordered it once waiting for my family's order 2 years ago, and have ordered it once a year since to see if they have changed it. I complain every time I order it and ask for my cash back. We have had 2 large catering orders from here and both were hot and ready for pick up. The chicken vesuvio was moist and delicious.

Moved into the area, and got a free cheese pizza from them. Tried it out, and the pizza is good. Spent $3 for some toppings, but well worth it. Even at full cost it would be $14 for a large 2 topping pizza that is good. Not a fan of the Gyros though. Not sliced off the spit, but packaged presliced meat. Besides that, most of the other food looks really good. read more

Everyone likes the Italian Beef for different reasons. I love their gardenara. Their beef with mozzarella and gardenera is better than Portillos. Always just the right amount of beef juice/crispy bread ratio. Owners Paul and Mike are really nice and personable. Not your trendy gluten free douchebag hipster place.
