Wife, couple friends, and I were looking for a place to eat after the Autism Walk and found this little spot! We met up with our friend's mom so she could see their babies, too. Walking in, you're warmly greeted and the decorations make you think Tex-Mex, but as you look closer, you realize there is also a lot of love for the community. Pride in San Antonio and pride in the nearby schools as well. They brought out their chips and salsa while we looked through the menu and their salsa was good! Not "salsa picante" where it's mostly tomato with just enough spice to not scare the white people too much. LOL Definitely a good indicator for how the rest of the meal will go. I ended up getting the Nadine's Plate with a sweet tea. That's 2 beef enchiladas, a crispy taco, and a tostada. Now, I know it says chalupa on the menu, but that's something Tex-Mex got twisted somewhere. A chalupa is actually a boat shaped tostada (edges folded up like a container) while a tostada is flat. The cheese can sometimes be melted in the chalupa on top of the beef, then you add your fresh ingredients. Anyway! All of it was delicious. The salsas for the entree were just as good as the chip salsa. Our server was sweet and checked in on us often. I'd definitely go back and try more of the menu. Cheers!

First time here. The food was great! The carne guisada was delicious! Love the taste of salsa with chips! Fresh. Ordered sweet tea. Great taste. The staff is friendly. The parking is small. The table sitting area is small, you might have to wait but it's worth it! Based on the amount of customers coming thru the doors they have loyal customers who come back for great taste & service! You will not be disappointed!

What a find!! It's a seat yourself kinda place, busy but still had tables. Had the enchilada plate special came with a drink. Tea was great, crispy picadillo taco, chalupa was delicious, enchiladas were cheesy and delicious. Chips were fresh and crispy but not hard. You know sometimes chips can be hard and poke your mouth. These chips were so good!! Good fresh salsa ! The staff was amazing and attentive, owner came by and checked how everything was going. Oh and the tortillas were amazing, I had the corn tortillas. If you live or come by the southside you gotta stop for a great meal and great staff!! read more

The epitome of a small neighborhood hole-in-the-wall near downtown. I received some of the friendliest service I've had at any restaurant, easily the standout of my experience. Their lunch specials are competitively priced. Chips were fresh, and the salsa was ok. The puffy taco was excellent, though it could be improved with more filling options beyond ground beef or chicken. If you like enchiladas made with cheddar cheese, these stand out, while the carne guisada is more average. I'd consider the rice and beans comparable to most. Lastly, flour tortillas could be improved, they seemed less than fresh. Looking forward to trying their fideo! Overall, Nadine's is definitely a place to return if in the area. read more

The wife suggested this place, she knows the workers and so do her parents. The breakfast tacos are really, good the lengua with their Chile is really good and all my wife orders is bean and cheese but she loves them. All the staff were very friendly, they give off a vibe that everyone knows everyone. They have the regulars that come in everyday an order the same thing. I miss that from taquerias, unfortunately they don't have breakfast tacos in El Paso. But definitely would come back if I could. read more

Coiffed is good. Tortillas are good and big! Maybe that's why it seemed like they were skimpy on the chicharron guisado filling which was good but picoso! The Morcilla was good too but picoso! These tacos are TASTY! They actually have FLAVOR! Maybe its because the cook is a LADY!!!! I had the papas ala Mexicana & a country quisado w/beans on flour tortillas...Delicious! These tacos are not the common taqueria type tacos prepared by grill jockies! read more

I was pouring sugar in my tea when I noticed a dead roach clogged the hole where the sugar comes out from and I waved the waitress over and she took the sugar bottle and brought me a different one and pretended like nothing happened. I'll never go back read more

We started…read morewith the Pan Fila Conchota combo that is a combination of the two that is 1/2 gallon of hot chocolate made using a base of Abuelitas with additional cinnamon, and cocoa along with something special. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.

The chile Relleno was served in a bowl with just an absolutely fabulous sauce and stuffed and covered with nicely melted cheese. The Milanese con Mole was absolutely decadent! The tender pork was lightly fried and covered in the most delicious mole that I have ever eaten. The chocolate was a little more prominent in the flavor profile than I am used to; and I wouldn't think that I would like that, but it was perfect! I enjoyed every bite and used the extra tortillas from our appetizer to finish off the mole. Highly recommend anything on the menu that incorporates that mole!! Fantastic place!

I feel like I am ar a big Spurs game with the sound bouncing around. Those at our table have had a hard time to have a conversation with each other at times. The small room up front is designed so sound bouncing off hard surfaces is worst in this room. I have had to ask to be relocated twice from this room due the sound level. The kitchen area in the front do not have doors to abd from the kitcgen to the dinibg rooms. Another design flaw, as a result the seating areas loud sound comes into the kitchen area. I can not imagine how the staff communicate to each other in this work setting.

I've been eating in San Antonio for over 50 years and my sister said hey brother you need to come try Nadines Mexican food. So I said fine so I drove down from Frisco Texas to San Antonio and met my sister at Nadines. So I ordered the Menudo and some Barbacoa tacos and all I can tell you that it was perfect. The food was excellent and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone especially if you're a Tourist. You can't go wrong at this restaurant everything look good and smell good!
