Made an appointment for this morning at 10 AM, about a week ago and when I arrive at said time they had already taken people. They asked me to pick a color, and started heating up water in the pedicure chair, once I selected a color and sat down, I asked how long it would be. She did not answer right away, she called called someone from the back (who was doing waxing I guess). It looked like there was only two people available to do Pedicures, after five minutes she finally responded to be at least 10 more minutes. If I had not asked I would be sitting there having my feet soaked for god knows how long until somebody would start my service. I would Have been there for at least 20min until they may have started my service. What is the point of making an appointment if you're still going to make people wait and not honor their appointment time on which the booked. BEWARE OF THIER SILENCE AND WAITING IN A PEDICURE CHAIR. I actually think I might be going back. I only got a pedicure, but this one gave you a hot stone massage that felt amazing! $20 is not a bad deal at all. They only have two chairs, so def. make an appointment! The ladies are very sweet, they offer paraffun wax that make your feet extra smooth for 5 extra dollars. My friend got a very cute manicure done. The price is super reasonable, but the small space with lots of people can be a little hectic. I come here regularly. The ladies can almost always take me whenever I need to come in. I try to call ahead to make an appt. but if I forget and just walk in I never have to wait more than a minute or two. Now, I don't get anything fancy but they always do a long-lasting job on whatever it is that I do do. This little gem of a salon is in a great location on The Alameda. And the feng shui is awesome. The spa pedicure chairs face the street so you can day dream or people watch. The massage part of the chair is nice too. Just be careful of the "knocking" selection it almost vibrated me right off the chair. They also use hot stones to massage your calves. Ahhhhh.... The interior is cozy so there's only two spa chairs. Also it's on a corner suite so there's lots of natural light that comes through the windows. I always feel so comfortable when I'm here. Usually...because it's not too busy and there isn't a lot of talking. Except when you talk with the super nice ladies that work there. The prices are affordable. My nail gal is the BEST!! Holly is new to this shop but does a fantastic job!! I have followed her now to 2 shops but this one should keep her busier and trust me, she knows her nails and I usually go 3-4 weeks between appts. because they never crack, chip, or lift. Holly never sands your nails too thin, they never burn, and she's careful to keep your undernails stay in good health and sanded well so they don't collect dirt or moisture underneath. Holly also does a great job on pedicures. The massage chairs are a nice touch and she is very careful not to cut your nails too short or cut your cuticles too deep. She keeps my toes callous free and the oil/salts massage really makes your feet and calves baby soft. The hot stones could've been a bit warmer but a nice touch. I also have had hot towels wrapped around my feet and legs at other salons but maybe they'll add that in by me mentioning it here. The prices are very reasonable especially if you don't need to go every 2 weeks. You won't be disappointed!! If for some reason Holly is not available, Vivian is another great nail gal!! Ouch, is right! This salon did a beautiful job of doing my long beautiful natural nails. I was told to use gel on my nails because it makes your manicure last and your nails don't chip. These ladies are very rough with the sanding instruments or whatever they are called to remove any leftover gel polish or acrylic off your nails. It's a emery board on a spindle and they literally sanded off my complete natural nails leaving me with tissue barely attached to my flesh and polished over it. Needless to say, my nails bend forward whenever I touched anything and cracked in the middle of my nail bed and hurt so bad, I had to cut them all off down to below my finger tips. I will never go back. They also lack professionalism. If you plan to tip and you give them a $20, they will give you back only $5 bills so you cannot tip them anything less than a $5 for a service that costs $15 or less. I don't think so! And, they have the nerve to exchange tip money in front of customers. Example: $5 for the owner and $5 for the manicurist after the customer hands over the cash. So, the costs of your manicure and/or pedicure includes the tip money for the owner and then you tip another $5 for the manicurist. It's actually costing you more. Go somewhere else. These people take advantage of the consumers who help them make a living in our country. Would they do that to their customers in Vietnam? read more

I used to like this place, but my last two experiences have been mediocre. I came in last Sunday as my nails were in terrible shape and my usual salon closed early. One of their pedicure chairs was broken and the entire time during my mani and pedi you could hear the guy working on it. They couldn't have the handy man come when there were no customers? The pedicure massage wasn't anything special, felt like baby hands on feet. Now for my manicure the lady working on me was man handling my poor fingers. I understand and appreciate not getting polish on the sides of my nails, but she was digging her fingernails into mine making it really uncomfortable and overall not a relaxing experience. I went here on a recommendation from a friend who loves getting her nails done here and her manicure always looks great. Unfortunately, my other friend and I did not have the experience we had hoped for. My friend and I went in for an acrylic set the week before her wedding. The Bride and Maid of Honor MUST look fantastic, right? Both of our sets looked horrendous. They did a rush job so some of my nails came out crooked, and they said they could do some simple art on the Bride's nails which also came out crooked. We went in on a Friday and by Monday, she decided that she couldn't get married looking like that (Wedding pictures, hello?!). She went in to ask for a refund and they very nearly refused, telling her "you asked for them to look like that." To which she responded "you're telling me that I asked you to give me a crooked and ugly set? I don't think so." They eventually gave her back her money after much argument. DON'T GO HERE FOR ACRYLICS! Our toes turned out fantastic, though. I would have given Three Stars, except for the argument they gave her when she showed them the jenky job they did. I tried this place for the first time last month. It was the best place I've had a mani/pedi. One thing I really hate about getting my mani/pedi is how long it takes. When I came here, I was one out of two clients so I had them done at the same time. I was in and out! They were very nice, and did a great job. Not to mention, the massage chair was AMAZING! The shop is small (i would make an appt if possible) & clean, the ladies are nice, good parking (street in the front or lot in the back) and the prices are right. I went in for a manicure and pedicure. The Pedicure was nice and looks great, but the manicure is another story. It was very rushed and 7 out of 10 nails have very visible bubbles all over and almost ALL my nails have visible 3rd layer edges. It took me a while to figure out what to write for my 100th review, then it finally came to me. I used to go to Nail Pros to get my Pink & Whites down and filled, but I never could resist getting a pedi, too. They always did a wonderful job on my nails, but the real standout is actually the pedicures. The pedicures are so amazing because the standard pedicure includes hot stone massage!!! If you haven't had a hot stone massage before, it is soooooo relaxing!! I definitely recommend it. The service is always very nice without being pushy, it's a very clean shop, and it's in a convenient location. And if you need to get some color, they offer tanning beds and sprayers. Some of the technicians are very attentive to exactly what you ask of them as well as gentle; while some are not and are quite rough! Ann is my favorite! Her gel nails last well over 2 weeks. I've had them stay the longest for a month. Pedicure lasts even longer. She takes her time and does layer on layer so they're nice and hard but not thick looking. She is so sweet and a pleasure to talk to. She treats my kids like family and I absolutely love that. Worst experience I've ever received. The work is sloppy, substandard and horrific to say the least. I have been going to this location for over 5 years and will never ever return. To start it took 2 hours because she kept stopping to help others. She cut me multiple times and that's not the worst part. The right hand is noticeably shorter the the left. The acrylic is so uneven, the shape is terrible even the polish is sloppy and messy. In 15 years of have acrylic nails I have never seen someone do such a terrible job. When I told her how horrible it is she didn't even blink an eye. How could any mail tech allow someone to leave with nails this horrible. Not to mention I paid 45 dollars. No tip. I saved the receipt and will be contacting the owner when she returns. I will also be filing a complaint with BBB and department of cosmetology licensing. I came here because I was in South Bay (live in SF) and I needed to get my nails done quickly, This place was great. They did a very thorough job on my manicure and pedicure. I especially liked two things. 1. They give a hand/foot lotion massage AFTER they put nailpolish on so that I can leave my appt with soft lotioned hands/feet 2. A couple customers came in while they were busy and they actually said they should go somewhere else, instead of lying and saying they could take them soon. They knew the clients were probably in a rush, and would rather they go somewhere else then waste their time waiting for a spot to open up. You don't see that often. read more

Went in for a gel manicure today. Service was efficient and friendly but unfortunately quite poor in quality! The woman who did my nails cut me and drew blood twice - once by cutting my cuticle too short, and then again quite deeply while trimming around the nail. She also somehow got a bunch of polish on the pads of my fingers, which I didn't notice until I'd left and I had to peel it off. The last issue was that the gel is all puckered near the tips, which I've never had happen before at other salons. I've been here a handful of times and plan to go back. The best thing about this place is the results. I've been to Burke Williams, Lavonde, Le JJ Belle, and a few other places. While the other places have a better atmosphere, better products, location, etc., the results are better at Nail Pros. Commenting specifically on the pedicures: They're better at removing the callouses while inflicting less pain, they're better at cutting the cuticles and shaping the nails, and the polish is always perfectly applied (smooth, even, covering the entire nail, and none at all on the surrounding skin). They are also nice, polite, and take their time with the massage. $20/pedicure contributes to making me very happy with this place. read more

Do not go here ! I came two days ago for a manicure,pedicure and eyebrow wax. I got one of the three done. My eyebrows and nails never got done. After my toes were done I was told to sit and wait about 15 minutes for my nails. 15 minutes turned into 45. Within that 45 minutes, I kept being told "I'm almost done , I'm almost done." Mind you the lady who I was waiting for conveniently is the only one who does gel Shellac. One person ? Really? What irritated me the most is that in that 45 minute time span my eyebrows could have been worked on. Finally I got fed up and asked to just pay for my toes. My sister-in-law went here today for an eyebrow waxing. The lady put some scalding hot liquid on her eyelid and severely burned her. She was screaming in pain as if acid was used instead of wax. The lady told her that she should go see a doctor and that the salon would pay for her medical bill. But they would not let her leave until she paid for her service. My sister-in-law does not speak English so immediately after the incident she called me and sent pictures of her burn. I called the salon for her and asked to speak with the owner regarding the incident. The lady who answered hung up on me. So I called back again and she hung up on me again. I called a third time and left a voicemail for the owner to call me. A few hours later he called me and he explained that he was notified about the incident and that sometimes customers with sensitive skin experience minor skin irritation from the wax. Clearly he was not notified as to the severity of the burn so I offered to send him a photograph via text so we could be on the same page talking about the same thing. He said that he did not want to see a photograph and started yelling at me over the phone and going on and on about how his business has a license and only uses the finest products and my sister-in-law should come back in the morning so that he could provide her with medical treatment and a $5 or $10 coupon to use towards her next service. I asked him if he was a doctor that he could provide medical treatment. He got more upset and started yelling even more. I asked him to calm down and I asked him to give me his name. He refused to give me his name. He continued ranting and would not even let me speak and went on about how he is a busy man with much business to attend to and that he only returned my call as a courtesy and that now I was wasting his time. He then hung up on me. The owner did not want to see the photographs of how badly his employee burned one of their clients so I posted them here on Yelp so he can see. If you value your safety do not patronize this business as the owner simply does not care about safety or his clients. How a business treats its clients when something goes wrong speaks volumes. Today was my 2nd visit to this place. I was expecting to have a relaxing experience this time just as I did the first time. I was treated with customer service and a quality pedicure. Today I called ahead asked if they were busy and had time for a mani and pedi at 6 they said, "yes! please come in!" I get there and it started good, but than 2 customers came in to wait for service and the girl starting my pedi moved to my hands and an other girl started my pedi. She was rough, did not pay any attention to the fact that she was making me uncomfortable by breezing through "what is supposed to be relaxing experience" the pedicure. I was going to get the foot facial with a parfin wax but I told her never mind I did not want it any more. She was confused and asked why. I said because you are too busy! Mind you I was only sitting for about 15 mins and the pedicure was almost over. She said no I can do it for you. I said No! They told the 2 other women waiting only 20 min wait when everyone knows that a proper pedicure and manicure should take at least an hour. Never again will I pay $35 for a half ass pedicure! Why can't these business people just be honest and say "hey were busy would you like to make an appointment for tomorrow?" No they are greedy people who lack customer service!! Too top it off another lady walked in cut the other women waiting sat in an empty spa chair and someone turned on the water and started her pedi. Interesting! Why would you treat people you know better than new customers? If the owner of Nail Pro is reading this is for you: I would have been a great customer I love continuity and I am a creature of habit. If I like something I will return sooner than I need to and spend more money than I should. I have a big mouth and love to tell everyone about my good and bad experience. You should lead by example and make sure your employees treat every customer equally. Do not be mad that I did not tip but why should I give you more of my money that I worked hard for when your girls hardly worked for that $35? If your money driven let's do some math: I was going to spend about $45 on a spa mani and pedi plus a good tip : $58 multiply by 24 possible visits: $1392 a year of potential income that you lost because you and your employees have no customer service. (Not including the fact that I would have told at least 3 other people $4176 of potential money). I will not even touch on the fact that the girl reused her gloves that she wore while working on me and put the same ones on when she started the next lady. Infection Control!! I've been a customer on/off here for around 5 years, but recently this nail salon has been slipping. Today I was 1 of 2 people over the lunch hour when in the past it would have been crowded and phone ringing for appts. Won't return as minuses outweigh the positives. POSITIVES -Was able to get pedi right away without appt -I got the Spa Pedicure (a value at $26), which was alright. They offer OPI, Essie, Zoya and gel polishes (I always bring my own to any salon - just picky like that) MINUSES -My massage chair was loud and not working properly No free wi -Shop has gotten shabby, and needs more frequent cleaning -They don't use disposable liners for foot basins and don't use fresh nail tools for each customer, so not sure of cleanliness -My tech kept leaving to eat when I was not at a point feet were soaking or polish was drying -I was ignored, techs spoke in Vietnamese to each other entire time (I don't speak it) Will not return. My roommate recommended this nail salon and made an appointment for both of us on Monday evening for mani pedis. They were very busy and told numerous walk-ins to come back later or tomorrow. The pedicure was average. I moved over to the nail bar for the shellac manicure. The bar is nice but not comfortable especially for tall people. Before she put tne first color on we noticed it had "changed" to a more purple tone over time. So she had me pick a new color in a rush. After she put the color on (one nail) it wasn't what I expected and didn't look good with the other color. So I asked if I could change and she said it was too late. It could have been changed but she didn't want to change it. Be careful what color you choose and make sure it's the same color as the samples! read more

Warning!!! Remember that skit "Beautiful Nail"? I think this is the place it originated from. Had a mani/pedi here and I could do a better job at home. Pedi-Lightly scrubbed my heals w/ pumice stone, not enough to remove any callus. Less than 5 minute massage that was more like putting on lotion. Cheap lotion that left my skin feeling dry. Toes were not neatly painted. Mani-Here's the "Beautiful Nail" part. While putting on the tips, one was crooked. I told the lady and she kept fussing that it wasn't. She was really pushing my patience. Then of course comes the trash talk in Vietnamese. She did a terrible job. The ladies doing manis aren't paying attention half of the time because they're too busy looking at people coming in and trying to sell them a mani or pedi. Nails fell off in a week. I have never been disappointed when leaving here. The women who work here are so friendly and attentive, and the owner has excellent customer service. I needed a last minute manicure for a event (finding time to pamper yourself when you have 2 kids and work full time is a rarity), and the wonderful women stayed past closing to take care of me.
