    Amazing taste!
    Dalv C.

Stopped here one more time! I always come here at least once when I'm the area. We love this restaurant. 1) The service is excellent. Very attentive and welcoming! 2) Place is clean and welcoming. 3) Chicken lollipops were amazing! 4) The food was delicious! 5) The price is acceptable. We eat at least three to four times the food as left overs after we bring it home. 5) The Lamp Saag, Goat Saag, Duck in red sauce, the Chicken korma, the naan, all excellent! When you come here remember this: This is Indian coursing and recipes from a different region of India than so of the other places you may have gone to. They have a great taste in their food! The mago lassi and sangria were excellent as well. The Taj was refreshing! I recommend you come here and give them a try! You will love it.

    Fish Mappaas

Amazing, authentic Kerala dishes. Stupendous Fish Mappaas, don't miss it, you won't regret. Finger licking fish fry, spicy beef roast, flying saucer like appams (so soft), and floating naans. I can go on listing, everything was superb. Friendly staff, Way to go, Abin. We celebrated two of our friends' birthdays. I wish Namasthe a very good luck. Like one of the reviewers wrote, it is a hidden GEM. Adi polli!!!

Namaste is what I call a hidden gem. Absolutely love seeing more Indian food places in the Midlothian area -- far from the hustle and bustle of Richmond. The menu is broad and consists of the usual set of items that you'll find at other Indian places, however many of the dishes are from Kerela or Kerela inspired which allows more variety. Service was great, food was delicious and spices were on point. Decor/aesthetic is super cute. Here's what we ordered: -Samos for appetizer- crust was incredibly crunchy & filling was delicious. Paired very well with sauce provided. -Kerala Porotta: Layered flaky flatbread, amazing texture & was so delicious. -Garlic Naan: So soft & yummy -Chicken Tikka Masala: Spice was on point -Pork fry- hint of spicy, huge portions, pairs well with Porotta.

When I got inside I found out it was a buffet. I got there at 1:30 PM & some of the food was cold. There was no menu describing the food. The mango lassi was good. I feel there's no reason for me to return.

    Kerala Parotta

We are smitten by Kerala Parotta and when our friend suggested us that there's a new Kerala themed restaurant in town, we were determined to try it out. Namaste India Palace is near Midlothian -- far from the hustle and bustle of Richmond. There's decent amount of parking out front. The decor and cutlery all looked new (presumably because it's only been a couple of months since the place opened). The menu is broad and consists of the usual set of items that you'll find at other indian places. The standout however is a complete page dedicated to dishes from Kerala. There was a decent selection of vegetarian items as well. We ended up ordering the Paneer Butter Masala on the recommendation of the server. The food was overall delicious - especially the breads. Paneer was decent, the only criticism being the excessive use of color. Overall, a nice place to try out.

If you are in a rush, order ahead for take out! Service is slow! Very nice restaurant. Only has 9 tables of 4 per tables. Very friendly employees! Highly recommend the Tandori chicken and Butter Chicken. Delicious!

We always love eating here. The food is delicious and staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!

Kizhi Porotta- Beef and Shaappile Meen Curry

My husband and I wanted to grab some food while we're doing a quick trip to RVA and saw this Indian restaurant near by. I am from Kerala and have been craving fish curry so seeing this on the menu was exciting. Service: service was incredibly slow. We weren't checked in on or just brought waters for over 30 min after we'd been seated. I feel like bringing waters at the very least should be fast but it took a while and they attended to everyone else multiple times before even coming to us. My husband had to get up to go get the check because they were being slow to attend to us. Menu: menu did have a variety of North Indian and South Indian/Kerala dishes, which is newer than what I'm used to since most Indian restaurants have North Indian style dishes. They have classic curries like korma and butter chicken for those who prefer that but decently extensive Kerala style menu for those who are interested to explore. Food: we ordered soda lime drink, kizhi porotta beef, shaappile meen curry, and extra order of porotta. Soda lime drink: 8/10, what you'd get in Kerala in a little side shop or bakery Kizhi porotta: 9/10 flavor was amazing, the sweetness from the onions comes through with the spices and curry leaves, maybe more beef pieces would be needed, could be very satisfied with buying that Shaappile meen curry: 5/10, don't get me wrong, the flavor profile is right, it's how you'd expect a malayalee to make fish curry. What wasn't good is that we received 4 small pieces of fish. For the price of the dish, it is not worth. It's more disappointing because that was something I had been craving to have and to pay the amount we did for the protein portion size is not an equitable trade off. I might come back if I'm in the area if I really miss the flavors of home but definitely the portion size was disappointing so not sure if I'd be as inclined.

    The greatest roast ever.

It was rather empty. Our group of 6 plus four others, which means FAST ROTATION . The karaoke DJ was cool. The sound system is nice! Good mics, speakers, and song arrangements. He had a huge vault of songs... everything I asked for, he had. Some of which are not as popular as others. AND the best part, he could change the pitch to accommodate my vocal range. Some of my favorite songs are a bit too high, and I had to ask for two of them to be brought down 1/2 step. Songs ranged from 50s to current. Enjoyable singers all around and everyone was fun to watch. I got a glass of their tempranillo, which was perfection. Full bodied, super dry and delicious. I also got a pizza, which is kind of a personal size. Very thin. Good, but not great. Decor is nice. Newly renovated with mostly tables all on the same level, but also a couch area next to the TV, and about three bar seats. Plenty of room to spread out. The only thing keeping Gramophone from 5 stars is the lack of food options. Hope they're able to add some simple staples like burgers and fries or salads. Convenient location right on the corner of Forest Hill and Westover Hills Blvd. I'll definitely come back for karaoke and wine!

What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. A few in our group ordered the Masterpiece Theatre cocktail on our waitress's recommendation -- she did not steer us wrong! Food-wise, everything was a hit. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. Such a great experience all around -- can't wait to go back and try more wines!

The first night (8/6/26) I arrived at my order pickup time and parked in the curbside parking spot. I called the number on the curbside placard as advised but they didn't answer. I called 5 times and they never answered. Ultimately, I had to go inside and get my food. I was annoyed because that defeats the purpose of ordering curbside. Why offer the service if you can't accommodate it? Additionally when I went inside my order wasn't ready at the promised time. No biggie, Im understanding sometimes so I wait a few minutes. I finally get my food and drink. Im immediately confused because my $6 lemonade was in a plastic to go cup and only filled halfway. I expressed my concern about it and the response was oh it's a pre measured amount. Seriously? For $6 I only get two sips of drink? Again, annoyed, but I remain calm. I then proceed to pay with my phone (tap to pay). Im told "oh we don't have tap to pay, you have to use a physical card." Huh? So why offer curbside pickup if you don't have devices for tap pay? It was a weird response but I didn't even question any further because I was hungry and annoyed so I went on my way. Thank goodness I had a physical card that day. I get home and had to reheat my food because it wasn't even hot. The portions were so small. I swear the pulled pork on my nachos probably weighed 1/2 an ounce. They gave more shredded cheese and queso than pulled pork and remnants of pico de gallo. The $6 side of rice was also a small portion and I definitely expected more for the price. However, despite the night's shenanigans the food was actually good. Since I have this unusual obsession with trying the same meals multiple days consecutively if I like it, I decided to reorder the same meal again the following day (8/7/26). I followed the same process and everything, curbside pickup, but no drink this time. They played once with the drink, not again. I arrived at my pickup time. Had to go inside again unfortunately. This time when I arrived I was told they never received my order because of the storms and internet connection going out with their server so my order was never made and needed to be reordered and prepared. I wasn't upset because storms and things happen you know. However, I waited 40 minutes for nachos to be prepared. As I was patiently waiting, many customers came inside were seated and even started receiving their food orders while I was waiting so I was starting to get annoyed. Then my food finally arrives and Im told I can tap to pay. Ohhh so yall miraculously got tap to pay in the last 24 hours because I tried yesterday and was told yall didn't have it. When I look at the receipt it says the exact comments I placed on my online order. If yall never received my order at all, how would you have known the comments I put on my order specifically stating I wanted all chips and condiments separate to prevent it from getting soggy? Idk, very weird. The food again was good BUT the experience was terrible and the amount of food for the price isn't worth it. I won't be returning to this location anymore. Because of how poor the service, process and portions were both days (8/6/26 & 8/7/26) I deducted 4 stars. I wanted so badly to hate the food because of my experience but it was good so I gave one star. The place has potential but I'm not frequenting again to hope they figure it out next time.

It was not busy, though takeout orders were coming through. Ordering my food Indian hot was greeted with a bit of skepticism and they apparently used my appetizer as a trial run to see if I could take it. To be fair to them, their spice level is for real, and my okra-filled entree made me sweat a bit despite my high tolerance. It wasn't the best bhindi masala I've ever had though, as I didn't get as much of the fruity or astringent notes to balance out the fire as I've gotten with really great renditions of this dish. The best element was actually the bell peppers that were mixed in. A fried potato and chickpea appetizer was worthwhile, and the softness of their naan was excellent. Everything tasted freshly made. I was satisfied that pulling over here was a worthwhile stop.
