When I wanted to order pour over, they brought over the coffee they had for us to smell so we could choose what we liked. The sweet vibes match with the sweet service. Food : Ricotta and Jam toast - The brioche is fluffy and buttery. Super delicious! The creamy ricotta pairs beautifully with the sweet and fruity jams. However, the jams aren't cloyingly sweet, which I like. One would've been more than enough for me but you get two slices on the plate. I appreciate the generosity of the spreads on the toast. Jang-Jorim over rice - Unfortunately this was not a win. The star of the dish was overly salty, according to my mom. She was okay with everything else but the meat. Bulgogi Sandwich - My mom had me get this for her after she was unsatisfied with the rice bowl so I couldn't get a picture. Saw this place walking around the plaza and was pleasantly surprised to see Namu Kitchen! My family was walking in at night and saw that they open for dinner. The staff were really kind, explaining their dinner menu. I came during lunch hour and got seated right away. The staff are really friendly and the interior is super soothing and incredibly pretty. The food was very delicious and filling! The avocado toast ($16) was super refreshing, the poach egg (+2.50) was a nice touch. The jang-jorim over rice ($17) was flavorful, I have no complaints. The French Toast ($16) was one of the best I've had in a while. The texture was incredibly soft, melt in your mouth worthy. It took ~20 minutes to make (we were made aware when ordering) so if you already know you want that item, then I recommend ordering the French Toast first when sitting down so you do not have to wait as long! You are greeted as you enter. The inside is spacious with a minimal and zen vibe. I usually go straight to the back where the register is to order a drink or pick up breakfast. My go-to drinks are: hojicha cafe latte, earl grey cafe latte, spiced brown sugar latte, matcha latte, and the non-coffee versions of the hojicha and earl grey. For breakfast, I have had their mushroom toast which is filling and delicious! I like adding a poached egg to mine. Overall, this is a nice restaurant to come with friends and family. My first time here was yesterday but today I had the Cafe Earl Grey and a Burrito, and omg they're both a 100/10. So damn good filling and great size for the price. And this place has such sweet customer service their staff is the absolute sweetest I've experienced. And the place is so peaceful and beautiful it's a smaller place but still absolutely beautiful. My friends and I went during New Years for a quick brunch and were seated fairly quickly. We did go when it right opened just so we wouldn't have to wait a while. I would have to warn people that this restaurant is in the HK plaza with the new Haven City Food Hall. Parking can get packed depending on the time of day. You can actually drink the fruit pulp at the bottom and it was just a good mix of yuzu that wasn't overly sour or sweet. - Braised beef burrito (jang jorim): This was a good pick with a nice blend of filling that mixes well with the very tender beef inside. - Avo toast (+$2 for the poached egg): I was a little disappointed. It's definitely picture-worthy, but the actual taste was a bit too earthy for my liking... probably driven by the beets they used as the pink spread if I had to guess. We ordered the gyoza to start, and they were fantastic -- nice and crispy on the bottom, soft on top, and full of flavor. My wife went with the kimchi pancake, which she really liked. It came with avocado, fried egg salad, and parmesan on top. I had the jang-jorim burrito, which reminded me of a hearty breakfast burrito with braised beef, scrambled eggs, tater tots, and cheese. It was super flavorful and very filling. I also got a hot matcha latte, which had great flavor and wasn't overly sweet -- just right. Prices felt fair for the quality and portion sizes. You can tell they take pride in what they're serving. The only downside -- and it had nothing to do with the restaurant -- was a woman who got seated behind us about 20 minutes into our meal. She was on her phone, laughing loudly the whole time, which kind of killed the chill atmosphere. It was very flavorful and not greasy/heavy. The green sauce on the side added even more flavor and some sweetness which complimented the burrito well. Green sauce wasn't your typical salsa verde, had a nice herby twist to it that added freshness to the burrito. Their Tofu and Eggplant Rice was also a huge winner. Their gochujang sauce added a nice smokiness to the eggplant. And the star was the usage of forbidden rice, adding a nice textural counterpart to the softer tofu and eggplant. Everything was well seasoned in this dish. The cardamom latte was expected, nice and solid flavors. The chrysanthemum tea was standard but good. All in all, a very trendy and hip breakfast joint. I ordered a beef bulgogi sandwich and a dweji gomtang as well as a hazelnut latte. The bulgogi sandwich was so packed full of rich flavors, savory and a little sweet, and not to mention super juicy. It was paired with a very simple but delicious side salad. On the other hand, the dweji gomtang was a more subtle but very clean pork broth. It was served with a side of purple rice, a dipping sauce for the pork in the soup, and kimchi/pickled cucumbers. So comforting especially on a cold winter morning! A very relaxing and lovely little Korean cafe next to the Haven City market. The staff is very nice and the food is fantastic! I've come here a couple of times now and have had zero complaints about anything. Most entrees come with a nice assortment of banchan and a bowl of purple rice. I've had the kimchi jjigae and dweji gomtang and both dishes were so comforting and delicious; I'd highly recommend either of them! They're served on wooden trays with cute little bowls for the banchan and gold-colored chopsticks/cutlery; a very nice aesthetic! They have a nice selection of coffees and teas including a "make your own cloud-top" where you choose a tea or coffee base and the cheese foam to top it with; this is pretty recent addition and it was on a separate menu, so it may be a limited offer. After my second visit, I had to ask where they got their tea since it had such great flavor! They were kind enough to tell me that they buy from "Hankook Tea", a Korean tea supplier with plantations in Jangseong, Youngam, and Haenam. I'm thinking of purchasing some myself...
