I was in an absolute panic and thought it had fried the entire electrical system. I'd never even seen most of the lights on the dash that were lit up, and it was driving horribly. I took it to Steve, and found him to be incredibly knowledgeable, honest and a master of his craft. He diagnosed the problem, explained everything clearly and didn't push any unnecessary repairs. My Jaguar F-Type just came out of warranty, so I looked for a reputable independent shop to handle routine yearly maintenance. I found Auto Service with Steve online, and their website specifically lists "Jaguar F-Type" as one of the models they service. I called, spoke directly with Steve, explained exactly what I needed (oil change, brake fluid check, maintenance reminder reset, etc.), and he confirmed they could handle it with no problem. He even said he had the tools to reset the maintenance reminder. We scheduled for Friday. I called off work to make this appointment and drove over early. When I arrived, Steve looked confused and said he couldn't work on my car because it was "too low." My car is completely stock, no modifications, no lowered suspension. He suddenly changed his story. So not only did I waste my time and lose a day of work, but his website explicitly claims they service F-Types. If a shop is going to advertise that they handle specific models, they should be prepared to do so or at least be upfront about limitations before confirming an appointment. Extremely disappointed. Misleading advertising and poor communication. I wouldn't trust this place for anything Jaguar-related. read more

I prefer to be upfront when it comes to establishing a relationship with a new mechanic. Initially after clearly asking Steve on the phone, I was told there would be no diagnostic charge to check my concerns and there seldom is unless "parts needed moving". I pretty much came to Steve knowing the work that needed to be done and wanted confirmation. After inspection, I was charged $79 for him checking out these issues despite no physical work being done and receiving no written report. The "diagnosis" only confirmed the work I had already described needing when I scheduled the appointment. When I mentioned the initial "no charge" conversation, Steve didn't really have much to say. Despite my objection, he insisted on charging me anyway. He didn't actually diagnose or check any additional problems. For the money, I would expect a documented written report/quote or perhaps new information, but I got neither. His actions did not help establish a trustworthy relationship, so I lost the money and had to take my business elsewhere. Not cool at all and a very disappointing experience. read more

Today was the first time I went to Steve's place and I am so glad I did! The bumper on my brand new 2019 Acura RDX was messed up and I asked him if he could fix it. He told me that he does not do body work and referred me to a body shop, but he came outside to look at the damage. Steve is conveniently open on Saturdays and his shop is one of the few I've been to who have been able to service my 1993 car. He owns a bunch of older cars & bikes himself, so he knows how to service many different models & get your car running. He also self-checks all the vehicles before handing over your keys back to you. Finally an Honest and Dependable Mechanic!!! If you are looking for a place to take your car where you will be charged fair prices for the repair, this is the place for you. I was lucky that a co-worker recommended this place to me when my car kept stalling on me. I kept taking it in to another repair facility and they were never able to diagnose the problem. Once I brought the car to Steve he immediately diagnosed a faulty fuel pump and replaced it. The car has been running great ever since. I also recently took my Audi to the dealership to get an oil change and they found that my brake lights had burned out. I didn't think it would be that much to replace them but when I asked for a price, I was shocked to hear they would charge me $160 to replace two small light bulbs. Insane!! So instead I brought the car to Steve and in less than 5 minutes he had replaced the bulbs for 1/5th the price. Yeah!
