Been eyeing this local spot. A beautiful patio and now that indoor dining is open a quiet indoor option. We started with Calamari which was tasty. A smaller portion than other restaurants, but quality seemed better which is a plus. For my main meal I ordered cashew chicken with a side of brown rice. Presentation was great, portion size was just right, but it was much to sweet for my liking. Definitely will support this local spot again. This was my second time at Naree and it did not disappoint. I was in town for a conference and took my colleagues here for dinner. The food here is authentic Thai and they have a great menu with many options. The Green Curry is delicious and spicy. The crab fried rice is a special treat. There are whole crab claws in it! Sitting by the front door in Naree Thai, I feel like I'm in a space farther from the main street outside than I really am: I like the interior setting. I experience good customer service: during my visit, I ask for a Vegan meal, and the employee creates a suitable order. The vegetables are good all around and taste better with the brothy type sauce. Even so, I think the meal can use a bit more of the brothy type sauce as much as a part of me feels there is just the right portion in my meal. With this type of meal, I don't mind tofu being a bit softer. I think the rice tastes good with the meal though clashes with the tofu. The meal is filling though cools kind of quickly. read more

Stopped in to get some noodles last night. I was craving for some chicken Pad Se Ew. The place was not crowded at all. Just a couple of tables occupied. I ordered the noodles to go. Nice friendly staff. The noodles took only 10 minutes. I got home and opened the box. The chicken, Chinese broccoli and noodles were perfect and so delicious. A little pricey for the amount of food. It was not our first time to time visit this restaurant. We loved visiting them whenever we come to Long Beach. But, maybe this was our last time. We ordered Honey Pork Ribs & Tangerine Chicken & sticky rice today. The waitress asked if we want all come together, and we said YES, please. But, she quickly brought us the cold ribs & the rest of the order came about 20 minutes later. Can you see how dry ribs they served? It looked like "jerky" to us, it was so tough to swallow. OMG . I asked the waitress, she returned after "double-checking" with the chef, that "because it was marinated in honey that made the ribs dry (?!)" Come on! You can not make honey ribs that quickly to make them dry like wooden sticks and within about 15 minutes and it was still cold. It was such a bad explanation and underestimated their customers. Additionally, she blamed the order system made her bring up the ribs before the rest order instead of together as she confirmed. And, they still charged us for the order! Stopped here for dinner with my boyfriend and WOW! The food was incredible! We ordered a Woon Sen soup to start along with calamari and chicken skewers. I've been here a few times before. While the portions have been incredibly small for the price, I've always given this place a chance since I live nearby and the food has been fairly good. After my experience last night, unfortunately I will not be returning to Naree. I placed a carry out order that quoted 30 mins to prepare and pickup online. I arrived promptly to pick up my order and was shocked to see how crowded this restaurant was which I've never seen before. Apparently there was a major event happening in the area that drove a lot of ppl to the restaurant. This event actually happens every year. The restaurant was NOT prepared for this crowd at all and was very understaffed. Come to think of it, I realized that they are ALWAYS understaffed, even on regular weekends. When I arrived, there was a line for ppl with carry out orders and a party of 10 sitting literally in the doorway. Standing an additional 30 mins to pick up my order was not ideal as the restaurant is small and even smaller w a huge party only an arms length away. My overall frustration is that no one in the restaurant acknowledged the line of ppl trying to carryout and be seated. They completely ignored us for most of the wait time. When I received my order it was horrible. The food was definitely being churned out rather than being freshly cooked and served. The Pineapple fried rice was bland, and the crab noddle were not edible at all. The crab also had a strange texture and the noddles were too sweet! The food here normally has never been this bad. The lack of acknowledgment and how bad the food was is it for me. Naree is on the expensive side but based on last night's experience it doesn't warrant it. read more

I wondered in here today because it was on my way and I wanted to grab a drink and a bite to relax. This place if phenomenal. Cocktails - top notch. Food - delicious. But what makes this place truly special is the people who work there. So friendly, genuine and accommodating. I sat at the bar right next to where people come to pick up their take out orders. The lovely bartender knew almost every guest and what they usually order. It's not only about the way I was treated, but about how every single person, who walked through their doors was treated. It looks and feels like this is family owned/ran place. I wish there was more like it. This is the type of restaurant I want to support and see succeed. Job well done guys. Tried Naree for the first time by delivery after seeing good reviews on yelp. The larb salad with chicken and green papaya salad were both very good with mild spiciness, as requested. The issue I had was with the Tom Kha soup. I requested it mild but could detect none and typically Thai mild is plenty spicy for me. This is usually my spot. I come here a few times a month and order the Thai spicy shrimp fried rice, extra spicy-shrimp well done and a side of curry sauce, just to pour on my rice. Everything is usually excellent, but both times I had bad experiences, is when I've dined in. There's a particular waitress there who's pretentious, A-typical, does not have bedside manners and appears to be condensing with her communication style. My shrimp came out completely burnt and dry, like the chef held them over the fire. I complained, they took them back, then returned them damn near pink. This time, I didn't want to say anything but was very unsatisfied. After paying, I tried to let my waitress know how I felt. She brushed it off, then replied that there's nothing she can do about it. I wasn't asking for anything to be done about it. I had already paid my bill. It was the lack of empathy and carelessness in her actions. She left a very bad taste in my mouth. Literally and figuratively. I don't feel like she conveyed my order correctly to the chef, who's usually on point. The other waitress working is always great, but not covering my section, I've had her before and she's incredible. This is a great Thai restaurant, even though you can't tell from the outside, meaning, it looks boring. I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped through the doors and was seated. The restaurant is clean and modern. They have an awesome lunch menu. I ordered the Pad Thai from the $10 lunch menu, which comes with a drink, so I ordered the Thai iced coffee. I don't know of any other restaurant where they include a drink (other than soda or a cup of coffee) in the price of the special. The portion was just right and the food tasted great, of course. She had the had had Pad Kee Mao and I had the Naree Pad Thai. We also shared a bottle of sake saw Yuri and we purchased a bottle red blend dreaming tree.. Autumn in New York...why does it seem so inviting... Autumn in Long Beach....the weather's hotter than ever. Not really...but hot enough to still pass for a blistering summer's day. Except at this little sweet spot on Ocean Boulevard. Here, lithesome cool gusts circulate on the patio which is pleasantly nestled under a stark high rise office building. Masks are required of both staff and customer. Physical distancing is not an issue and comfortable 10 foot seating might have always been the norm, anyway. The quiet but attentive server brought water without our requesting it. The reasonably priced lunch includes a small appetizer and beverage. The Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee were quite enjoyable. We both had fried veggie dumplings. The $11 spicy eggplant had a moderate spice that even I might order next time. Previously, I've had pad see ew two other times. Both times at a good, but now defunct, restaurant. The first sublime, but the second, not. I would rate today's $10 version from Naree at 90 percent of sublime. I'm fine with food served, not hot, but warm. Perhaps the trip from kitchen to the ocean cooled table had something to do with the food's somewhat tepid temperature. Therefore... Autumn at Naree...that's why it seems so inviting. read more

I was driving West on Ocean in DTLBC, and saw Naree. When I arrived at my office, I did some research and saw Naree offers lunch specials ranging from $10, $11 & $15. Lunch specials include a starter (salad, fried tofu, fried veggie gyoza), a main and a drink (thai iced tea, lychee iced tea, et al). Naree is located on Ocean & Linden. I ordered the $11 special: Salad, green curry w/ chicken, and a lychee iced tea. Common items like pad thai and pad see ew are $10, but there is an upcharge for shrimp as your protein. My entire lunch was very good. The salad was nice & fresh, and was lightly drizzled w/ ginger dressing. Secondarily, my main was nicely seasoned w/green chilis & cilantro. There was a fair amount of chicken, and the portion w/ rice was just right for lunch. Lastly, the lychee iced tea was a nice surprise, and very refreshing on a hot day. I would have expected to pay $12-$15 for all of the items in the lunch special: 4 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, its a long space w/ a bar that matches the length of the restaurant. Nonetheless, it works fine for the lunch crowd: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the service was friendly & efficient. Our drinks & food arrived quickly, and our water was refilled w/o asking: 4 Stars. Naree is much more reasonably priced vs Panvimarn, although there is not as much variety. I'd definitely come back to try other reasonably priced dishes. BTW, they also deliver. read more

We stopped by here after the Cali Vibes festival because it was near our hotel. We really lucked out because this place is fantastic! We ordered a few appetizers and fried rice with mock duck. The rice was great and texture of the mock duck was perfect. The lemongrass soup was spiced properly at level 10. The only headscratcher was the mozzarella fried wontons. It was a weird as it sounds but after a full day of festivities, we figured we would give it a shot. The standout of the menu was the beef jerkey. Holy shit. Absolutely spectacular!!!
