That ramen was delicious! I'm so glad I finally stopped in to give this place a try. The service was excellent, and my waitress was fantastic from start to finish. This time I ordered the spicy soy ramen instead of my usual creamy broth, and I'm so glad I switched it up--it was absolutely top-notch. My boyfriend is obsessed with the Japanese buns (mostly because of the sauce). Overall, it's a great spot for a casual lunch, and I'll definitely be back. .

The person I'm with is a huge anime fan so when we were looking for places to eat, of course we had to stop through just based off the name alone. The restaurant is nice but it is a tight squeeze. There is sitting around the grill so you can good look at them cooking and preparing the meals. Our waitress was sweet and seated us as soon as we walked in. I ordered the fried chicken platter with curry and with fried rice ($3 up charge) instead of white rice and a can of ginger ale. The food came out fast but they gave me white rice instead of the fried rice. It's all good. The platter was delicious! It is a little pricy but I highly recommend visiting this place for lunch.

Bowl of Naruto Ramen on a cold night is terrific!

Still a good spot to get a freshly made hot bowl of ramen prepared right in front of your. Hit the spot just right in a cold Sunday afternoon. As its a small narrow place with mainly counter seating sometimes there is a waiting list for a seat. Worth a few minutes wait.

Ramen was fine, nothing too special. The price is good, $15 for a regular miso bowl. Service was a bit unorganized. There's a waiting list outside but in two columns and people do not fill out in order, and the employees end up just calling whoever they see has been waiting the longest. Inside, there's a long hall bar table and you can watch the chefs prepare your ramen.

Was so excited to try this place. My fiancé's ramen was good. Here's the katsu curry I received vs. what's pictured on the menu. And the restaurant doesn't answer the phone no matter how many times you call. I wouldn't recommend for delivery.

Naruto has been around for decades so I thought this has to be good. I went for lunch and got the lunch special which is basically a regular dish/ priced ramen bowl and if you add $3 on top you get a app (which is an option of fried rice, gyoza, chicken teriyaki bowl or chicken curry bowl). I opted to get the chicken teriyaki bowl. Honestly so not worth it. It was literally a little bowl of rice with a few pieces of chicken. Could've skipped this. I also ordered the miso ramen. While the ramen is bouncy and cooked well, the toppings were just so lacking. I felt it was just a very minimal cheap portion. I barely got any bamboo shoots. And I opted for chicken instead of pork. And sadly the chicken was quite dry. Overall for $20 lunch meal it was so not worth it. I wouldn't be craving ramen anymore!

I went specifically for the ramen- it did not disappoint. So delicious and nicely plated. It's pretty small and busy especially prime time dinner. It's an L shaped counter setting. It was nice literally watching my food being prepared. The host/ waitress was really nice so that's a plus. Can get hot with all the stoves and fires on. Be prepared to wait a bit depending on what time you go. The food is worth it tho.

This is a cute little hidden gem, a small shop and it seems to be always busy. They have a list outside for you to put your name and get called, I went with my friend so we were seated quickly. Inside it's a bar style seating, and of course with the name like Naruto, they had to have pictures of Sufi anime (if you are familiar) alongside other anime posters (Japanese cartoons). They also have hooks for your coats/purses which is super convenient! They have slow music with the lights to medium so it's not super bright but not super low (so probably not the best romantic spot) . The host that greeted us was nice, she showed us our seats in a friendly manner. They have the tangible menus, and pretty easy to follow along, which is nice because I feel like food menus can get overwhelming sometimes. I got the original Naruto ramen and for an extra cost, I added a few more things so you do have that option if you like some ingredients more than others. I did get some chili oil and got charged extra for that which I found weird because every other ramen spot I've been to, usually the spices are there for your convenience at no extra charge, it wasn't a lot more (only $1) but still, I only needed a little bit so I had a little container of chili oil left over lol. For drinks they have Japanese sodas, and coke products as well, as for alcohol, they have beer. The bowl is pretty generous and the ramen is delish, the price is on the higher end but that's in the normal scale for NYC prices. The place is chill and clean, the food is really good and the staff is nice. I really enjoy this place which is why I keep coming back, if you are around this area, I definitely recommend you check out this spot ^_^!

    Cilantro Bomb, Tom Yum Gyoza
    Ming M.

You poor Upper East Siders standing in line to eat at this Naruto don't know that the Upper West Side has a much better Naruto. Yesterday, I got the Cilantro Bomb at this Naruto. Absolutely no taste, I had to send it back. When I got it back, it was ok, but not as bomb as the one on UWS. One time I ate Cilantro Bomb three times in one week on UWS. Do yourself a favor and go to UWS for Cilantro Bomb, tastebuds awakened for life. The Tom Yum Gyoza is pretty good though, lots of flavor. Get the pork one. Also, this place is too small and too crowded.

This place was very cute and they made the food quickly quickly. The woman behind the counter was so sweet and she gave us free sodas with our meal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was delicious and better than Kiko Ramen. We also got the pork Gyoza and that was very good and we got the crab Rangoon. Everything was delicious and we are happy. I would definitely come back here.

I had big hopes for this ramen place given its indoor atmosphere, bustling lines outside on a nightly basis, and menu of dedicated soups. But to be honest, the food fell a bit flat. The soup didn't have much taste even though the ingredients appeared mostly fresh. There was not much tofu inside the soup itself and substitutions were quite tricky when ordering from a few delibery apps like Seamless and Uber. The food was processed quickly which is good- and the hostess was kind for pickup - but many of the ingredients were missing either spices, salt, or all of the above. Would I return? Maybe although its unlikely given the confluence of other options available in the neighborhood.

    Takoyaki
    Jenny H.

We arrived at the restaurant around 5PM and dinner had just started so we were seated quickly. The waitress quickly took our drinks & orders. The place is small with just a counter bar. Its focuse is on Ramen and a few appetizers, and some entrees. We decided to started with takoyaki. The octopus was tender, the dough was a little mushy but overall good starter. We then got to watch the sous chefs prepare our Ramen with craft from behind the counter. Shortly we were served the hot bowls of Ramen! The noodles had a nice chew, the char siu was balanced with right amount of fat and meat. It was tender with 1/2 of soft boiled soy sauce egg. My broth was spicy Naruto and it was with depth and just right amount of spicy kick. Fair size bowl just enough for one. The bill came out to be around $40 with tax not including tip. For upper Manhattan locations, it is a good place for Ramen.

Do i have to make a reservation?

They do not take reservation. It's first come first serve.

Can you order the ramen without any of the vegetables that it comes with?

Yes, you can! I've found it's best to order in person. It costs extra, but ask for extra broth. It's so worth it.

Does the restaurant name have anything to do with the show Naruto?

The ramen is showcased in the show.. but that’s about it!

Can I takeout/carry out food here?

    Yes you can !

We only had to wait about 15 minutes before getting seated. They definitely get crowded though, so it's best to have a reservation! During "lunch" hours, the place is brightly light. Once "dinner" hours comes around, they set out candles on the tables and dim the lights for a different ambiance. The service was a bit off at first, since we waited a while to get our appetizers. This might have been due to the change in staff between lunch and dinner. The hostess noticed and checked on our appetizers, and got them right out. Afterwards, we had different waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. We did the Pick 3 appetizers: -Kyuri (cucumber): love the mix of flavors with the onions, vinegar and salt. The kyuri has a good bite to them -Kimchi Mushroom: the mushrooms also had a good bite to them. Not too spicy of a kimchi sauce, which I liked as it did bot overpower the mushrooms. -Shishito: I enjoyed the saltiness of the kelp with the char of the shishito. I went for the Tsukemen, which I loved at the Brooklyn location. This was just as good! The noodles had a good bite and the right thickness for the rich broth. I like the lemon on the side to help cut some of the richness. The egg is well marinated and perfectly jammy. The Hassaku Grapefruit Juice is a nice non alcoholic option. Very grapefruity and too sweet. We ended with the Tokyo Banana, which had a deliciously bruleed banana. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate and had a little candle on the side. We only put it in the reservation, so it was nice of them to do. Overall, a great ramen spot to check out!

Entering inside the server was easy to talk too and had a speak easy type feel. Lights dimmed down with Michelin Star awards to my left, bar seating to my right, additional seating in the back next to the visible busy kitchen. Music was a modern sound of Korean hiphop and EDM. Menu was a QR code and within 15 minutes my appetizer and ramen was delivered. Ordered: -Tsukune chicken and pork bun This was delicious! The Karachi coleslaw paired well with the teriyaki sauce which also calmed the sweet taste. Tonkatsu Tokyo Classic Ramen - This was good, but as a ramen fan, I think it could of been slightly better - Broth was definitely good with a bold salty taste - Chashu was soft, thinly cut and not chewy. However, I'm a seared chasu type guy, but each their own. - I did not add additional side items to the ramen besides what garnishes already come with the bowl. - Overall Tonkatsu Ramen was normal Next time I'm in town, I will be back to try the Tan Tan ramen and other appetizers next!

Since I dined early, it was delightfully peaceful. My server was incredibly warm and friendly, and the food came out impressively fast. I ordered a bowl of their signature Kohoku-Ku Ramen and an order of Takoyaki. The Kohoku-Ku Ramen was packed with flavor, totally unique, and deeply comforting. It completely hit the spot. The Takoyaki was cooked perfectly! A huge plus was that it wasn't buried under a mountain of bonito flakes like at many other places. As the evening went on and the dinner crowd rolled in, the atmosphere picked up a pleasant energy, but the noise level stayed remarkably comfortable that you can actually have a normal conversation without shouting across the table. We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.

The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision.
