Came here to try the shrimp fritters and chili crab buns. Both were delicious and getting two appetizers was enough for dinner, at least for me. I prefer the shrimp fritters though. The chili crab buns are a few pieces of small sweet buns and crab dip, A lot of people seem to like it. The storefront is very unnoticeable, definitely walked right past it. But that's usually a sign of an amazing restaurant haha. Service was very nice. And I kind of like the simplicity of inside the restaurant too. I would highly recommend every single item on the menu, but if you have to limit yourself, at least go for the roti John sandwich and the crab noodles. Everything tastes fresh and with the right amount of spiciness. The storefront is somewhat easy to miss but it's next to a parking lot and a pizza shop. So glad I was introduced to Singaporean cuisine by being Yelp elite! I work at hospital right around the corner from this restaurant and I'm always saying that there's nothing ever to eat in the area- I won't be saying that anymore! It's a tad bit hard to find so I wouldn't recommend going there at night, but as long as you have the correct address, you'll end up in the right place. I got the deep fried wonton dumplings from here and the laksa noodles- the dumplings were delicious and came with a sweet/spicy sauce. The laksa noodles were also very good- the sauce tasted very similar to Indian curry and it came a bit spicy, which I loved. I meant to try Native Noodles because they kept popping up on my feed as a "hot new business," however, one fateful day, there was a Yelp perk available to sample some of NN's appetizers. Since then, I make it a habit to order delivery from here every once in awhile. The food always arrives hot and fresh. Some of their must-haves in my opinion include the crab chili pasta and the fried buns with crab chili sauce. Please make sure you spring for the extra rolls as it will only set you back one dollar. The shrimp fritters are also enjoyable. One day I plan to explore beyond my usual order and try out some new dishes. The restaurant itself is super quaint, minimalistic, and can be easily missed if you do not pay close attention! Last time I was here, they did not have an official sign out front. My friend came here for a Yelp elite event and I tagged along for food! The Yelp elite event offered few selection to choose from and we chose the deep fried pork and shrimp dumplings. My friend also bought popcorn chicken which wasn't what we expected. The popcorn chicken was topped with butter "cereal" crunch which was a bit sweet. It is definitely different than the typical savory popcorn chicken, kudos to creativity. We had dinner plans so we didn't get to try the other dishes. They told me the chili crab noodles were no longer, so dish no. 2 was the roast pork over rice. It was tender and flavorful, more like a braise. The same pork came with our Singapore fried noodles which were our least favorite -- the thin noodles were similar to Mei fun but sort of crisp. Not the same dish as Chinese restaurant Singapore Mei fun. A side of curried vegetables with a bit of tofu was also quite good. They cram a lot of veggie goodness in a small container. This place is amazing. My bf and I loved our meal. I got the honey pork bowl, delicious. I am used to traditional Chinese char sui (the type that hangs in butcher's window) , which uses pork belly. This restaurant uses a more lean cut of pork but, it is still very tender and delicious. It is not as sweet as my typical char sui and I only wish I had some type of gravy for the garlic rice. My bf loved the laska but, I can't handle any spiciness so good for him. We both loved the dumplings and it has a sweet and spicy chili sauce! Super yummy! read more

My friend and I got delivery on a cold cold day - she got the wonton dumpling noodles while I got the laksa noodles. Both were decently good, though the laksa portion was rather small. (Note: while the menu describes it as "coconut shrimp curry", there weren't any actual pieces of shrimp - perhaps it was shrimp paste or dried shrimp? Just be aware.) We also split the popcorn chicken appetizer, which was really much smaller than we expected. I will say it was delicious - the breading had cornflakes in it, which is fairly unique. Overall, there are things this restaurant can improve, but it's a great start for a new noodle spot and I'm really grateful to have them in Washington Heights because there's not really another similar or comparable shop. read more

Me and my friend had the peanut noodles and the potato patties both were delicious but quite spicy. the peanut sauce has a good amount of spice as well as the mayo for the patties. we also had the calamansi lemonade which was delicious. YES! Kindness goes far. I came in after being discharged from the local hospital - worn out from Covid long haul lung issues - and the guy was incredibly kind. I appreciate a place that leaves me alone. It was the perfect amount of peace to eat my food while knowing if I needed anything he had me. I tried several things and the guy probably could tell I needed a pick me up and even gave me a mango pudding on the house. Very generous, very kind local place. Laksa soup w/ pork -- delicious! Add some of the chili shrimp paste umami sauce and you'll be in heaven. I dunked my pork in a mixture of that and the sauce that came with the dumplings and oh my stars yum! Shrimp pork wontons (fried) - unassuming and small but once you dunk them in tht sauce they are so so good. Pandam pancake -- a nice taste of home and you could bathe me in that coconut jam Mango pudding-- what dreams are made of. I actually added some peanut crumble I have at home and the texture and saltiness took it over the top. Calamansi lemonade -- a bit sweet and thick for me but my roommate loved it! This place is so, so good. I have had it on my list for a while and finally made it up when I was on my way to visit the cloisters. And it surpassed my every expectation! I had the satay noodles with pork and my friend had the laksa soup noodles. Both were absolutely incredible. The satay noodles were legitimately some of the best noodles I've ever had and there was a massive heaping of tender pork to top it off. I was so stuffed that I could barely finish the plate (But I did-it was just that good). It was also an incredible value at under $15. If I had to nitpick the only complaint I would have is that the soft-boiled egg was a little more cooked than I usually like (I prefer it runny), but still, that's a minor quibble for what was truly an outstanding meal. read more

After reading about it in articles and reminiscing about a too-short layover in Singapore pre-pandemic, I was having a craving and this place certainly hit the spot. We got the chilli crab noodles. The crab was abundant and delicious but personally, I don't like sweetness in my chilli sauces. We also got the Singapore noodles and laska noodles. The laska noodles were by far my fave and I will be coming back time and again to order this again. We also ordered some side veggies, but none of them really stood out. I was here on a random Tuesday night and the place was buzzing with takeout orders yet the staff was attentive and courteous. The restaurant is small but well laid out for an excellent dinning in experience. We got the Chili Crab Pasta and the Laksa Noodles. The food came out quickly and was really good. The Chili Crab Pasta was cooked and seasoned so well. Given the quantity and quality of food the prices were reasonable as well. I cant recommend this place enough. I will be going back soon, the only question is if I will get the same thing or try the other items on the menu. read more

I remember when Native Noodles first started as a stall at the Queens Night Market (QNM) almost two years ago. I had gotten a chance to preview Amy's food and there was a lot of hype surrounding it because it was the first time that Singaporean style food was available to the QNM audience. Singapore is very much known for their hawker stalls which has a plethora of delicious street food. This type of food experience is what Amy was offering to her customers and the community. I only got a sample of her laksa but it was so good. When the QNM season started she had sold out on her very first night!! Everytime I would go to the night market, I would make sure to check to see if her stall was open. On the days she was there, sometimes I would arrive late after work and see the SOLD OUT sign a little too often. As happy as I was for her business, I was beginning to dislike that very much during that time. But that was my problem and not hers. After her first successful run in the outdoor market, I was looking forward to trying her food again at the next installment of QnM but the pandemic had canceled all outdoor events last year. I was worried as she had just started her business but I found out that she was planning to open an actual storefront!! There were some delays as with any new business and of course still dealing with pandemic issues in the NYC area, it was understandable. Fast forward to now and her hard work certainly paid off. She is located in Washington Heights, an area in the Bronx. Her establishment is a very cool and unique addition to the food scene there! During my visit, indoor dining had just been allowed again after months of people eating outside in the winter weather. I made the trip to WH specifically to try her food and again and to say hello as it had been a long time since I had seen any of the business owners from QNM. I had walked past her store at initially as there was no signage but understandably it was a new business. The interior consist of a wide open dining area with a POS kiosk and desk (no tables for my visit as the indoor ban had just been lifted and it was her first week open). The kitchen and prep area was in another room in the back but there is a large see through area. To the right there was a seated / standing area along the wall and near the entrance there is a nice cozy area to eat facing the window (I had chosen this spot to eat at). As I entered, there was an employee working at the desk getting the delivery and to-go orders ready. I was almost disappointed that Amy was not there but then she appeared by the kitchen see through area. From my first meeting her and throughout the QNM season, she has always been a very kind person and very intelligent. She usually takes time to greet her customers unless she is busy cooking. And with this new business, she is cooking a lot and logging in many hours to make sure things run smoothly. She puts so much heart into every single dish she makes and anyone who has ever tasted her food knows that to be a fact. The menu she has is greatly expanded from what I remember from QNM with some items that I have not tried before. During my visit, I ordered the Honey Roasted Pork Over Rice, Satay Peanut Noodles and Chili Crab Buns. The pork over rice was her version of char siu..very savory and tender. Classic comfort food in my opinion and something I would probably order multiple times a week if I were closer. The peanut noodles were very good as well although I had to take that particular one to go as I was short on time and could not finish a second entree. The crab buns were a surprise treat as they were very warm and soft and paired so very well with the her oh so delicious crab dip. Special mention goes to Leslie, the very courteous and kind employee who had helped to ring me up and pack my food to go. Ideally, you would want to eat everything right then and there for the best experience but for busy people, the food can be ordered to go and they have partnered with delivery services in the city. I definitely plan to go back to try the other menu items as well as her signature laksa noodles as indoor dining capacity has been expanded. read more

Mom and I decided to try this new spot with such glowing reviews tonight, and we both agreed, the reviews were right! We started our meal with the shrimp and pork wontons- really good flavor, and large pieces of shrimp in every wonton! Definitely something on our reorder list! I got the char-siu rice bowl, and mom got the laksa noodles. She really enjoyed hers! Mine? It was excellent! Subtly sweet pork with just the right amount of fat (I mean, come on, we all know we love pork fat.) paired with some greens, a medium-boiled egg, and garlic rice. Now, I'm not a fan of all versions of garlic rice I've had. This one was a winner, though! When you get some of the greens, rice, and pork in one bite? Oh man. So good. Native noodles is a welcomed addition to Washington heights food scene. I was excited try their laksa since they're usually found in Chinatown and is a rarity elsewhere. I ordered chicken laksa and it was ready in 10 minutes for pick up. When I got to Amsterdam, the restaurant was hard to spot. There is no distinct sign or label from across the street. For future reference, is it the restaurant next to jade garden and it has white outlines and if the day is nice they will have yellow chairs for outdoor seating. The inside seemed clean and new. The menu is a short read but i think everything is worth a try. The laksa is okay. The chicken is delicious and it's not the usual pounded flat white meat pieces that restaurants usually use. The main confusion was the sauce. The curry sauce is thick and not enough to coat the noodles. The ratio of noodle is sauce is like 4:1 and you don't really get the taste of the curry sauce at any point. All you have is a bit of spice which is a disappointment. I wish there was either 1) more sauce or 2) liquid-y curry to fully deliver on flavor. I bet the curry is delicious - I just never had a real taste of it during the entire meal. read more

So happy that this place opened up in the neighborhood. We live in the 180s and the delivery was shockingly fast. It was literally faster delivery than some places two blocks away. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh. All the food was tasty. We got the wontons, fried chicken app (boyfriends favorite), chili crab dip (my favorite), wonton noodles and the laksa. The wonton noodles were so so good, reminded me almost of pho flavors without the broth. We will definitely order again! Wow this place is great! A good place for reasonably priced delicious food. I had 3 items: Laksa with shrimp: this was my first time with laksa. The curry was flavorful, and the cold vegetables it came with were fragrant, I think with sesame oil? The noodles were served hot enough that it was still hot with the cold vegetables, but they were separated in the same container so that you could choose how you wanted to eat it. My only critique is that the noodles were served slightly overcooked in my opinion. Definitely not al dente, but not to the point of being mushy either. Singapore noodles: This was delicious. I had it with the honey roasted pork. This seemed like it was basically char siu pork, which is actually how this dish is normally served. It took me back to my childhood, with the pork being flavorful and the noodles having the familiar spices. Because these were served at the same time, unfortunately the dish had cooled a bit, but it was still warm. I probably should have said I wanted to have the dishes one by one, but I also think this dish is not served as hot as the others. Chili crab noodles: This one tasted good. I think it wanted a protein because the amount of crab is small, and so the protein to noodle ratio ends up being like it is for many italian dishes. For me, that is too carb heavy. But the flavors were good, and the crab came through at the beginning. Towards the end, when everything got mixed, the flavor of the crab did get masked a bit. So yummy! I ordered the Laksa noodles with shrimp as my main dish. Nice spicy curry flavor. The portion was on the small side but perfect when accompanied with the veggie dumplings. All was delicious. The noodles stuck a bit to the compostable to go container but probably just a learning for a new business. Exactly what I had been waiting for and what the NYC food scene had been lacking - proper Singaporean food that is very tasty and healthy, and offers fantastic value for money! Definitely the best and the most authentic Singaporean food I've had in New York, and I will be coming here very often :) Food: we had the laksa noodles with shrimp, the satay noodles with honey roasted pork, the crab chili buns, the popcorn chicken, and the pork and shrimp dumplings. The popcorn chicken was crispy and sweet (so good we even finished the crumbs!), the crab chili buns were my favorite appetizer with flavorful dipping sauce and such pretty buns, and the dumplings were juicy and savory. The two types of noodles offered very different but equally exceptional flavor profiles. The laksa noodles had a kick to it - on the spicier side with lemongrass notes and an explosion of flavors (SEAsian with hints of Indian/Chinese cuisine). The satay noodles reminded me of when I was in Indonesia - peanutty, rich, creamy noodles with tender and moist pork. The most authentic satay noodles I've had outside of Indonesia! Highly, highly recommended! Drinks: Calamansi lemonade was sweet and refreshing, but not overwhelming or too acidic. It balanced the food very well. Service / Atmosphere: We went at 6PM on Sunday night, and they were very busy, taking lots of to-go and delivery orders. Even then, their service was top notch.
