Service was amazing, the server kept coming to refill our tea, and the food came out in a timely manner. The clay pots were amazing and the black herbal soup was very nice as well, although it may not be for everyone.

This place makes really good clay pot rice. The crispy rice, it's, um, all the way at the bottom. Um, so, unfortunately, it doesn't get crispy on the side. So if you want, like, maximum amount of crispiness, this place doesn't... definitely doesn't have the maximum amount of crispiness, but it's on the bottom. And the flavoring is so good. They make the soy sauce well balanced. And we got the frog, the Chinese sausage, and the ribs, all really great. Next time, I would definitely stick more to the ribs and the Chinese sausage. The frog didn't have as much flavor. This place is really small, and it does take thirty to forty minutes to make your rice. But as per usual, because if you know anything about hot rice. They make the rice and the vegetables and the raw meat all fresh inside the rice. So it's very typical. But, yes, this place does take forty minutes. I still give it a five star because the food is amazing. I had a really nice, um, refreshing dessert, which is their papaya and white fungus seed. And it wasn't too sweet.

Great start and very good portion size for the stone clay pot rice. Never had clay pot stone rice and this place was the best to try one! I originally came to try the herbal teas and shared the clay pot with my moms as it was too big for me to finish. Delish flavors we got the basic combo everything one. Great service as they were friendly as well. Will def be back!

Spareribs clay pot rice. It's ok; meat is a tough and flavorless

It's an all around just ok/ barely ok. When it comes to clay pot rice, there's a few things that makes it good: the fragrant rice, just enough heat "wok hay" to give a nice rice crispy at the bottom, and the "special fragrant soy sauce". We were quite disappointed as this place lacks these three soulful elements to their clay pot rice. It's just an ordinary plate of rice cooked in a clay pot. Sad. Between the four of us, we each ordered a different clay pot rice. - the meat were rough and rather tasteless (not marinated / or not marinated well). In order words, not enough prep work in making a good dish. - for the Chinese sausage pot, man, the sausage pieces were paper thin and so slim pickings. it's almost embarrassing. - the sparerib with black bean sauce one was bad. Meat was tasteless and rough. it was either old or overcooked. - all clay pot barely had any rice crispy at the bottom. - soy sauce was not flavorful as it should be. It was just ordinary soy sauce. Then, we decided to try their dessert .. their special Gui Ling Gao (Herbal jelly) and it is also just ok, and quite expensive. With so many great eats in the 626, I'm not sure I'll give this place another go. :/

The reason I have 2 soups is because the first one I received had a bug in it. The soups here taste exactly how they look. Bland and dull. Even with salt it has no flavor. What flavor there is doesn't seem fresh. I came here with my wife several years ago and really like their food. Not because it was so delicious, but because it tasted fresh and healthy. That is no longer the case.

Came here with my cousin after a long roadtrip around 6 pm. Place was quite packed but we got seated after 10 minutes of waiting. I ordered the ribs and Chinese sausage claypot rice and I've got to say, the dish was stunning! The ribs were very tender and the Chinese sausage had the perfect balance of sweet and savory! The sauce mixed into the rice was delicious as well. Definitely will be coming back for more in the future.

Good clay pot. Flavorful but my pot didn't get the crispy bottom that I was hoping for. Takes a minute to come out because its made to order. There is parking in the front of the store along the street, but they have a private lot in the back of the restaurant.

been craving for clay pot rice on a cold day. they are made to order so there will be a wait for them. compare to the ones I grew up with in Hong Kong, these are pretty good but not the MOST authentic. I personally like the rice to be more crispy but I understand they way they do it is for the most demographic. The staff is super friendly and efficient. and I definitely want to tried other items on their menu!

Got the clay pot rice with catfish and black bean sauce. There were only a few tiny pieces of fish with a lot of sauce on top. The rice was cooked decently and the fish was tender. However, I couldn't really taste anything besides the sauce as it overpowered everything else with its saltiness.

This was my first time trying this place because a family friend recommended it! Seeing how small and lowkey this place was, made me a little skeptical, but after trying the food, I know I'll be coming back time and time again. All the dishes I tried were hearty, healthy, and delicious! Their clay pot variety is vast and so are the veggies and other soups. Also, their service was phenomenal. I never had to ask for additional tea because they're so proactive in refilling my cup with it! The tea happens to taste really good too! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to eat a fulfilling meal!

Best clay pot rice place! Also serves healthy soups. Service is friendly as this is a small whole in the wall restaurant. Good desserts too. I got the taro sago which can be served hot or cold.

My cousin and I stopped by this spot to try out their clay pot rice during our recent trip to socal. Long story short, if you happen to be in the area and am craving claypot, stop by but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to eat here. Parking: we didn't see any attached parking lot but it was late when we arrived. There's plenty of street parking available. Ambiance: hole in the wall type of place. Small restaurant with limited seating so go early or late as it seemed like they do get busy during rush hour. Good place to chill with close friends who don't mind the minimum decor or with family. Service: for a Cantonese place, it's decent enough. We got seated immediately and offered tea right away. Our order didn't take long to arrive and they made sure we had everything to enjoy the food. They were also nice enough to allow us to split our check. Food: we ordered the cordyceps flower with hog's tail soup (no MSG and tasted so good, just like my mom's homemade soup), ribs with black bean sauce claypot (seasoned well but rice was too soggy), and a plate of onh-choy. Cost was reasonable, given the portion size.

Anyone has had togo claypot? Is that still as good as dine in?

You could call them to find out, but eating claypot rice is a process - you eat the meet and rice on the top while the rice at the bottom is getting crispy. So I encourage you to do dine in for that experience!

Do they have gluten free selections?

No, this is a traditional Chinese restaurant. I don't think gluten free was ever a thing.

By the time we started eating, it was beginning to pack up inside. The ambiance was chill and the service was pretty standard for an Asian restaurant. Servers don't check in unless you call them over, nothing over the top. I ordered the baked chicken over tomato sauce and cheese. It was amazing, I'm still thinking about it days later! The tomato sauce was super flavorful without being crazy strong or tomato-forward. The cheese was baked perfectly on top, leaving a nice crispy texture but still chewy and stringy at the same time. I would definitely come back!

I was too hungry to wait but I decided to come back nice and early. At my 8:30am visit I was able to be selective in their parking lot and no wait to be seated. Yay! I love the interior décor. The table had dominos underneath the glass, the dishes and utensils had lucky auspicious affirmations. I'm all for the positive vibes this early in the morning. Staff are incredibly quick and efficient. They are really on top of it. I think they really have to be in order to meet the demand of the busy crowd. I was excited for the breakfast specials since I love breakfast foods. I can eat it all day! The breakfast combos come with your choice of drink. Cold drinks are an extra $1. After looking at some photos on Yelp and some helpful Q&A with my waitress, I decided on their Breakfast Combo D. Porkchop & Egg Pineapple Bun with Dried Scallop Congee ($13.99) and I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea ($1 cold drink upgrade). What a deal!! I also added a side order of the Fried Dough Stick ($3.50) or also known as the crueler or Chinese donut since I like to have it with my congee. It wasn't needed from a portion perspective but I just like it. The food came out quickly, the congee first and then the fried dough stick and porkchop & egg pineapple bun. What a feast! The ladies at the lady next to me were so excited at my spread they asked me what I got. They thought I was really pro but it was actually just my first visit. Inside the pineapple bun there was a fried egg, porkchop, tomato, lettuce, and sauce. It was a huge sandwich. This is one of the bigger pineapple buns I see and it was well stuffed. The amount of food I ordered was enough to feed 2 people. The congee was really subtle. I didn't get the fried scallop that is in the name... I would just perceive it as a plain congee. The fried dough stick was oily and didn't taste too fresh. I probably won't order it next time. Nevertheless a still overall fabulous meal. My tea was refilled before I had the chance to ask. When I asked for the check, they knew to bring me togo containers without me having to ask too. Very smart service! I had a great meal here and I will definitely come back if I wake up early enough to come at opening.
