Popped in to Nautilus for a last minute dinner on a Thursday night. The wait was quoted at 45 mins for 2 but they had a table for us within 10 mins. In the meantime we wandered to the bar and managed to score seats with Andrew at the helm. Andrew was slammed serving the entire back room as well as the bar, but was still attentive and provided top notch service. I had the sancerre (yum) and we split a few of the small plates and everything was fantastic. We went with the Brussels sprouts, the pork riblets, the shiso hand rolls and the pork buns. It was just the right amount of food for two of us without going over the top and everything was delicious and inventive. Highly recommend you add this place to your list! read more

We dined there last night and made a 5:30 reservation so that we would have ample time to make it to the ballet in time. We knew that we wanted to order the duck special. When we ordered that our server told us that it would take 35 -40 minutes. When 50 minutes had gone by, we went searching for our sever, who had not checked in with us at all. Another server came and apologized and told us they were cutting the duck as we spoke and it would be at our table momentarily. 10 minutes later still no duck. Our server appears and apologized and told us that because we were the first ones to order the duck that evening they had to turn the oven on and wait for them to warm up and that's what caused the delay. That didn't make a lot of sense to us but whatever. She also asked if we wanted anything off the menu in the interim and that they would Compas for anything that we wanted. Expecting the duck momentarily we declined the offer. Earlier in our experience with the server we asked if we could see a dessert menu and her body language and response indicated that we were bothering her by asking for this. She did come back and explain they had not printed the desert menu yet and she did tell us what was on the dessert menu. We ate the duck and it was very good. The scallop dish that we ordered as an appetizer was exceptional. I am a greens or perhaps a little over seasoned but still very good. When the check came the server had not comped us for anything. We left a very disappointed with the service and really lack of caring for my server. Last year we had been to Nautilus in Nantucket and had the exact opposite quality of service. Attentive staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home there. We had a super experience which is what made us try the Boston spot. Perhaps we just have to except that poor service is the norm. I'll tell you though to go to a restaurant with really good food and have mediocre service is still disappointing to us. I just don't think I wanna go to a place and spend $200 on dinner and get treated like I'm at a fast food restaurant. It's not entirely true that this place is not good. Our server was great and the food was good, not exceptional, a bit salty. My problem with this place was that it is one of those restaurants where you get the feeling that they put their business ahead of their customers. That they are so busy and the spot is so desirable that you are lucky to even get a reservation so they can afford to treat you with a bit of pushiness and rudeness. Waiter was great, but was trained to push their small portioned tapas at us, "for four we recommend 10 to 12 dishes." They start at about 18.00 each and go up to close to 40.00. If you put three of them together, they would be one normal dinner, so they are pressuring you to spend about 80.00 each out of the gate. Think about where else you can drop 80.00 for an entree, you can do better. My drink, of which I had two was 17.00 each. As is true with many American restaurants, they slap down the bill soon after dessert, which we did have. Which I hate when that happens. But the rude part was that they hostess came over and actually asked in the most smarmy, disengenous way for us to vacate the table, immediately because they had another reservation. "You can bring your drinks to the bar". Her annoyance with us was clear, loud and clear as the brave little hostess soldier quickly stormed off after she said it as if to say, I told them. I get that other people are waiting, and we were there a long time, but we were having a nice evening up until then and she could have given us a little more time, maybe asked a bit sooner, like in about 30 minutes we have a reservation. or have been more sincere or something. It's a little hidden and you have to go around the building towards the water to find it. The entrance is from the outdoor dining/patio section. The vibes indoors were like a submarine, pretty cool and good energy. The menu was so fun, especially the drink menu. Def recommend the ack nauti and pisco sour. Not the best place for an espresso martini but the condensed milk drink (that's a lot of dong) was a pleasant surprise. The chicken lollipops and brussels sprouts weren't anything special, but the oyster tacos and blackened prawns were fantastic. We ended up getting 2 orders of the prawns! The sauce is SO tasty. Overall, good place, I wouldn't go multiple times (slightly overpriced) but def try at least once! read more

Grabbed a reservation before Boston opened up. Got there on a Saturday and were walked to the oddest table near the bar- sort of like a foldout train table. We asked to change and got sat on the other side of the restaurant at a high top. The chairs were terribly uncomfortable. It seemed like most of the decent tables were for parties larger than 2? The cocktails came out looking weird, very very brightly colored which is usually not my thing but they were surprisingly good. The food was hit or miss. A couple of the dishes were great but a couple were total flops. I will definitely try it again now that all restrictions have been lifted. read more

We started our meal with cocktails and the cocktails were excellent the first cocktail we had was "tell me how to Dougie, tequila Mockingbird a rosemary inspired cocktail and some Moscow Mules. Our server Andrew was amazing he recommended some great options because it was out first time there. He offered several suggestions which were all amazing including Hamachi Crudo which was very fresh and had a with a great sauce, Vietnamese Beef Tataki salad which had an amazing complex dressing, the Charcoal prawns with a Vinaigrette dressing, blue crab fried rice and Szechuan Eqqplant. We ended the meal with prime ribeye, pork feast and lamb chops which were excellent. The location was great with view of the harbor. She helped us order the perfect amount of food and each dish was better than the one prior. The food was absolutely delicious....every...single....dish! The service was also amazing---dishes brought out at a nice pace---our server was friendly and helpful. It was such an amazing night! Our server was attentive, the hostess could have been more friendly. We ate dinner early at 5pm so it wasn't busy at all. My only complaint was the portions are tiny and all we left hungry. The fried chicken was a joke, 6 morsels for $18. The blue crab fried rice was decent not not worth $44. Can I afford it? Yep. Do I like to be robbed? Not really. Came here for a company dinner last week and sat in the back room (about 25 people). The decor is gorgeous -- dark and jewel-toned colors felt fun & luxe. The outdoor patio had pretty views of the water and pier. The service was friendly and doting -- drinks were refilled, plates were cleared. The food was mouth-watering when it hit the table and absolutely scrumptious. We had a ton of variety -- poke, hamachi crudo, scallops (one of my faves), chicken drumettes (another fave, I was licking every last bit of sauce off my fingers), tuna chips & dips, pork riblets, spicy dandan noodles (the table devoured these), the peking duck and ribeye (and more I cannot even remember).... our party was STUFFED to the gills but kept eating because it was all absolutely amazing. The FLAVOR was deep, luscious, layered, wonderfully seasoned, and I am still thinking about it a week later. Fun Saturday night and excellent dinner at the Nautilus Pier 4! The restaurant is beautiful especially the 20,000 Leagues under the Sea inspired murals! It was busy but the tables are well spaced out and the staff are abiding by all Covid masks rules which was great. Cocktails were excellent especially the Nauti Dog and the Golden Goose. The small plates were delicious! We tried several small plates. We loved the pork buns, chicken drummies, tuna poke, charcoal prawns, and the jumbo grilled asparagus. The oyster tacos and blue crab fried rice were also delicious! Our server Maria was excellent, very attentive and helpful with the menu but also gave us time to enjoy our cocktails and catching up with friends. One complaint and is a deal breaker for me would be enjoying an expensive dining experience while sitting at a high top. High tops are for bar food and drinks, not for fine dining. I'll start by saying I'm not a small plate person. I like portions and I finish them. I was pleasantly surprised that they served a group of 4 heartily and servers were knowledgeable and happy to help figure out the right portions. Top to bottom the food was above, above average. To put another way, it's not FINE dining but it's the next best thing for a fun blend of Asian fusion tapas. The Peking duck to top off the plentiful and tasty array of tapas was the reason we came and we were not disappointed. My group are foodies not by choice, but by experience and everyone left with a smile on their face and a food-related rave review to bring to their significant other. This is not a true 5-star because there are fine dining establishments that deserve that designation over this more fun and casual offering, but for the pure taste, I'm happy to arrive somewhere between 4.5 and 4.7. Price is appropriate. Go if you have the chance and are mildly open to Asian inspired food that's very welcoming to an American palate. read more
