We have been waiting for this opening since the announcement. We had a wonderful experience & breakfast yesterday. From the moment we walked in,we were warmly & enthusiastically greeted by the hostesses as well as WOWED by the atmosphere! We started with the Bag o Donuts & Deviled Eggs. They came out in no time after they were ordered. My husband enjoyed the Deviled Eggs since I don't eat them & tried to breakdown all the different flavors involved. The Donuts were piping hot & generously covered in cinnamon sugar, reminiscent of cider mill donuts served in a brown paper bag. They had a nice crunchy exterior while the inside was so soft, perfectly cooked. I ordered the Construction Omelette thrilled with my selection. After a couple bites I noticed it was still a bit runny & sent it back. I felt terrible doing that but they took my plate & ended up Making me a PERFECTLY cooked new one. They were so apologetic but I figured they are working out the kinks. The hash browns were hot & perfectly crispy like potato pancakes served with my choice of a regular biscuit. One suggestion: serve butter with it. I asked & quickly received the most amazing butter I've eaten in the U.S.. I slathered my biscuit with it, enhancing the flavor of the biscuit My husband had the Southern Breakfast with country ham & grits with a side of hash browns after watching them go by before we ordered. He didn't say much because he was too busy eating. Our server Justin took fabulous care of us and couldn't do enough for us. He is a keeper! During our time there, managers came checking on us making sure we were well taken care of. Can't wait to go back to try lunch menu. Very beautiful establishment and the whole menu looks delicious. I was told by relatives this is a favorite of theirs so it was an easy breakfast choice. Unfortunately I was a bit underwhelmed. I did really love the carrot habanero hot sauce & hashbrowns but both entrees just seemed ~unsalted. No flavor in the gravy or the meat. The Benedict was just okay. Neither plate got finished. I ordered the huevos rancheros, my mom ordered the traditional breakfast, my dad got the seafood omelet, my brother ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit, and my boyfriend got the chicken and waffle. Our server was kind and the food came out well prepared. We liked breakfast so much that we decided to try it out again for dinner. I ordered the vegetable bowl with rice and an egg. It was full of flavor and a good size portion. My mom ordered the root beer ribs and she didn't like them as much. My brother ordered the fried fish and shrimp basket. Before we headed back home from our week stay in Hilton head, we stopped by nectar before hitting the road and it was the best way to end the trip. Right off the bat the place looks great and once your inside the interior is marvelous. As soon as we walked in I was impressed. The hostess immediately asked us what would work best for us, as our twins are six months old, took us to the best possible seating for our situation and moved tables around for us to make sure all of us were comfortable. The waitress, Miley, was very helpful to us as well. She made sure we had everything we needed; she was always there to answer any questions or take our orders. "Made fresh, locally farmed ingredients" caught my eye as I searched for area places to eat and most importantly, sip my coffee in peace. There was practically no wait and if you're COVID skittish then stay far away. It appears that mask are optional at this place. Anyhoo... The food and service we received was pretty good, basic breakfast dishes. I will warn you to check your dishes thoroughly, my husband had a very small bug in his water & I had a coffee mug that had dust all over it. Nothing that a quick swap couldn't fix. Yummy brunch spot right before you hit Sea Pines. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance - I love the light fixtures...they looked like honeycombs. Our server was very attentive - had great timing with drinks, food orders, drink refills etc. The food was pretty good too - we ordered biscuits to start - I really liked the sweet potato biscuit. The biscuits are more bread-like and less like traditional biscuits but they were good! We had the duck hash which was delicious - I really liked the root veggies mixed in with the duck. The veggies had a lot of flavor, and were sauteed and cooked perfectly. It was a nice change up from potatoes. We ordered a side sweet potato pancake and I loved the peach butter - the butter was a perfect companion to the sweet potato pancake. I picked up on a bit of buttermilk in the pancake which rounded out the flavor too. We also ordered the butter bean burger which was an interesting take on a veggie burger. The curry was a little overwhelming but still tasty overall. There are plenty of menu options for breakfast and lunch and I definitely am looking forward to coming back to try something else! read more

I wanted to love this place, the decor is really nice but the food was not that great :/ I ordered the crab cake Benedict - the biscuit was really dry and crunchy, same for the crab cake. It had a really thick breading that was also very hard, dry, and crunchy. The dish overall didn't have a lot of flavor and I wasn't that impressed. My brother got the Belgian waffle and I tried a bite and it was really tough and chewy, not fluffy and slightly crisp like a Belgian waffle usually would be. Excellent service and great food on our first time at Nectar. Very friendly and attentive wait staff (Chrissy). Had hush puppies as our appetizer, and three of us fully enjoyed them. The smothered chicken (daily special) was outstanding. The chicken was lightly fried, and you could taste the pickle brine. The gravy was excellent and not too thick or overwhelming. We had: - fried green tomatoes - spinach salad - country captain (chicken with tomato) - fried fish basket Of these dishes, I would only order the fried green tomatoes again. It was literally just spinach leaves and some radishes, with none of the other ingredients listed on the menu The country captain and fried basket were just ok. None of the flavors were particularly interesting, and much of the fish in the basket was very dry and didn't taste fresh. Also, while I appreciate the minimal plastic packaging, the country captain was leaking out of the cardboard box it was packaged in and got all over me on the drive back. This is a great little restaurant. It lives under the roof of a previous failed concept and has been wonderfully reimagined. The menu is unique and flavorful and creative. For dinner I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was succulent and savory because of the sausage that was mixed in the batter. The chicken was crispy and juicy. My son ordered a bowl which did not come out correct. The manager promptly took it back, took it off the bill and got a replacement entree out in no time. We sat outdoors on a beautiful night.
