I really like koobidehs, but one of the waitress is very rude and annoying , she has always just talk with my husband, and has never even glanced at me and asked what my order is, or do I need anything. We never have the same experience in any other resturant. I understand that she believes men pay the bills, so she has to pay extra attention to them, but ignoring wives is very unprofessional. We always leave tips to all waitress, so there is no need to be flirty with a man infront of his wife for a tip. Today even she is not our waitress she came across our table to just say hello to my husband, even I was very kind she simply ignored me and didn't look at me or saying any world even a hi to me, but took plenty time to talk with my husband. read more

WOW- great food and FUN... Very nice start with the Sabzi (Feta, Parsley, Mint, and Onion) - Lavash Bread & Butter... YUM YUM!!! The belly dancers were so good and so much fun. One took myself and daughter up on the dance floor for us to learn how to belly dance... The crowd was so supportive of us both. Nice decor; they've got a little band setup in the corner on a tiny dance floor (though we didn't get to see it in use). For a newbie to Persian food, the menu was a little tedious. In that, the vegetarian section was mostly a combination of various appetizers. So, I would read what was in the vegetarian section, and then have to find it on the appetizer menu to find the description. Would be nice if they simply listed it twice. We were brought out the bread, mint, basil, cheese, and two onion chunks, but had to ask what to do with them. The server was very friendly, although on occasion a little difficult to flag down, and once or twice I had trouble understanding her over the din as she spoke quickly. Very large portions of food! When she came back to check on us, she asked worriedly that we didn't like it, as it looked like we hadn't touched the food. We did like it - we just filled up that quickly after the appetizer! I especially loved the dolmas. We ordered dessert as well. The pastries were very strong on the sweet, like eating sugared honey. Definitely make sure to order tea with it if you get it. I ended up here because my friends are regular diners here. We ate here on a Saturday & there was a live band and a belly dancer performing. We ordered shots & snacks on lavash. This was my first time here & the service and food was great. I ordered the ground beef and chicken kabob (koobideh). The portions are huge! I ate half of each kabob and was stuffed. I ordered mine with the basmati rice. Who doesn't like meat and rice? And their yogurt is made in-house. It's super thick and creamy. I definitely plan on eating here again. read more

This is not a knock on the restaurant... I really didn't eat there so I can't say for certain how their main courses are. - Getting there and finding the place was easy! - Seating was fancy like as seen in the pictures, though some of the tables in the middle were a little too close to others... I like a little more open. I ordered the following: - Dolmeh: typically they are too vinegareeee (is that a word?!) but these were fantastic. They had a sweet sauce that I loved and the leavers were not bitter nor tough. - Baghlava: not my fav.... these I think were pistachios and not crispy. My preference is walnuts/pecans with more crispy/flakey outside and a touch of honey. - Doogh (Yogurt Soda): ya.. that was a first... I passed it around the table and the reaction was first timers was the same.. "what the?!" and "you can have it!". I cringed, but as I kept drinking it tasted a little better. I would suggest using Pellegrino carbonated water with the yogurt instead of perhaps the bar water/co2 mixture. - Ground Beef Koobideh: had a taste from my other friend. Was pretty good. I want to come back and try their fillet mignon kabobs and some of their other high end dishes and they I will give an updated review. The décor is ok ... This place was recommended by my client who is Persian. So I'm assuming were going to the best place in town .. never make assumptions! We ordered the steak and it looked more like pot roast. The steak was in 1 piece but was slaughtered and sliced in so many different ways (no idea how it stayed in tack). There was no flavor to it. We also ordered the ground beef kabob. It was layered in grease. It didn't taste like fresh meat. And it was bland. The rice had no flavor or pop. I hardly touched my ground beef kabob and took the left overs home for my dog. We left it on the table and couldn't figure out this horrible smell in our house. We thought our dog had bad gas. We soon realized it was coming from the left over bag. I'm sorry but this is not the best place in town!!!! read more

The food here is so overpriced and the kabob quality is so poor. They don't make it like they used to. I was here on a Friday night with my family of 6 and none of us liked our entree. The only dish we liked was the eggplant appetizer. It ended up costing us almost $200 for dry spongy kabob. read more

Sorry to have to rate it 2. Here is why 2 stars, though I initially thought food was better than 2: 1. Before entering restaurant, waitress was smoking outside. Big turn-off, grossed out. 2. Upon entering, restaurant odor was strong, musty, old-smelling. Furnishings were old and restaurant appeared shabby. Menu's were downright shabby and torn at edges. So far, very unimpressed. 3. Food tasted decent. Was told chicken marinated with lemon juice. Also, one of the appetizers had a strong taste of lemon. I adore FRESH lemon. Waitress brought salad dressing, two cruets filled with olive oil and "lemon juice". I sniffed the "lemon juice" and determined it to be more like preserved "REALEMON" in a bottle, with preservatives. Also, the color was a give-away. So, I used only olive oil for my salad since that lemon-stuff is fake and nasty, plus I have a problem with preservatives. The chicken itself didn't have a strong marinated flavor, could have used more, but was presented well, and a big portion. 4. This morning....became clear to me that the fake lemon was used in appetizer plus the chicken marinade when my stomach became very upset....you can figure out the rest. 5. Restaurant did not disclose that they use fake lemon juice. So, not returning. read more

It was ok. The dining room was about half full and I kid you not that my girlfriend and I were the only 2 people in the whole place that did not appear to be middle eastern/Mediterranean so that says something for its authenticity. As for the food, I had the Koobideh and the hummus both of which were ok but not amazing, at least to me. One of my quirks in middle eastern type restaurants is that I keep trying to like the yogurt drink they serve but I just can't do it. So I ordered the yogurt soda and got about 3 sips in before I couldn't take it anymore. The waitress told me about her similar experience with root beer so she didn't include it on the bill which was totally cool. I made up for it in the tip. As for attire, people from the Middle East tend to dress better when they go out than I do so you might feel out of place in shorts and flip flops. I think what it comes down to is that I seem to prefer Lebanese/Turkish food to Persian food as the restaurant seems to be well liked. read more

Food - 4 Service - 3.5 Ambience - 3 Compared to other Persian restaurants I have been to (Raffi's in Glendale, Faz in Sunnyvale, Chatanooga in Santa Clara), Negeen gets a very solid 3.5 from me. The food portion is large and the koubideh was really tasty. We also had a couple appetizers - a yogurt & garlic dip which was really thick and creamy and a roasted eggplant dish, which was delicious. I would have given this place 4 stars except that they couldn't make a simple amaretto sour, so the Hubby had to actually go behind the bar to make a drink for his cousin (it was his 21st b-day). The Hubby said that the restaurant's sweet & sour was black (gross!), so he ended up making a Malibu & Coke for his cousin instead. The service was very pleasant and fairly attentive. There were a fair amount of other patrons for a Tuesday night, and most of them looked Mediterranean, so that was a good sign. Decent Persian food... don't know if i'd drive all the way to campbell just to eat there but if im in the area and craving persian food i'll make a stop. I did notice this: i was there for an event and they were extremely professional, efficient, organized, and helpful. The set up of the food was chic and organized as well. I used to have a major customer loyalty to another Persian restaurant...and I did try to resist Negeen's charm...but they won me over. Again, I'm into the koobideh. Persian stews won't win over koobideh unless I'm with a group. Negeen's koobideh is very tender and meaty. It is still a bit greasy/oily but that's kind of the nature of the beast. You want some of the fat to run out over the rice-it adds to the flavor! The only reason I am not giving a full five star is the environment and the way the tables are set. There is a huge mirror on one wall that makes me uncomfortable since all tables see each other! I eat Indian food once in awhile, but I don't believe I had Persian food before, although I was told that the two are very similar. I used to eat at sushi Zono all the time and Negeen is in the same shopping plaza. I heard good things about this place for awhile now and finally the opportunity brought me here. I was here with a friend for lunch and I didn't know what to expect, so I just let my friend ordered for us both. I had the chicken kabob with basmati rice. The chicken was tender and full of flavors. I especially love the rice; it was fluffy and tasted so buttery. I also had the yogurt drink but I didn't like it too much. It's basically yogurt mix with water. I thought the drink would taste sweet but it was too sour for me. Great customer service! Will definitely be back here. read more

Very disappointed to have had lunch here with my partner and her family. Service was dry and rude beyond understanding. I mean I understand if you're busy and overworked but there were 4 people dining. A smile goes a long way and so does being understanding. Long story short, there was a hair in my partner's rice and when we brought it to the attention of the staff they whisked it away without a word and brought a new plate out. That's all great and all, but here's the kicker, getting charged for it on the final bill! When we asked why we were charged when they made a mistake the answer was "well I brought you a new one." I don't know, it just doesn't feel right, it's not up to standards that so so many other waiters and restaurants would go to make sure the customer felt grateful for what is a somewhat understandable mistake.
