The food was ok. I got a side of rice and peas, macaroni, and a beef patty. The beef patty was nicely breaded/put together with a pleasant presentation. The flavor could have been kicked up a notch. The macaroni was cheesy. However I didn't care for the seasoning used. The rice and peas could have used oxtail gravy on top. The ginger pineapple juice was the favorite part of my meal...very refreshing! My friend enjoyed her red snapper- the bare bone was proof!...lol Parking is plentiful and free in the lot. It took over 5 minutes to be greeted and seated despite the crowd being light. Our waitress, Shanae, was nice and gave great recommendations. I did not like that the bill was equally split. This was my first time visiting this location.

Service was a no for me. Me and my family went for a birthday celebration. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is a little small yet cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was snappy and our food took forever to come out. I ordered the fried snapper and it was very delicious. The beef patties are super flaky, spicy and good. I would give Negril a second chance just would like a different server.

To start off there wasn't any parking available So we had to get dropped off in order to make our reservations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were sitting in the upstairs area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is an infusion of Jamaican food. I dnt feel like it's home made but it's good nevertheless and close. We came here for brunch. We got Rum punch for the table. And I got curry chicken with rice& peas, steamed cabbage, and sweet plantains. I thought the food was good, as previously stated it's not as good as a mom and pop shop but it def hit the spot. My friends tried the stew chicken, chicken and waffles and oxtails. The chicken and waffles were different (not like American fried chicken & waffles). Everyone seemed to like their meals. We also tried out their Mac n cheese. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Over all, it was a good vibe and we enjoyed ourselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My husband and I came for Sunday dinner as my son had an event at TopGolf half a mile down the road. I made a reservation for 5:15 pm just to be on the safe side. Staff was extremely friendly and we were checked on throughout our dinner. We started with the cornbread with guava butter. It was so tasty! My husband and I shared Da roundabout with three different entrees. I loved the jerk chicken which had a kick and the oxtail. They were out of the goat curry, so we had chicken curry which i could use a little more kick. For dessert we shared the bread pudding which was excellent. We will definitely be back when we are near the area!

We were leaving a studio podcast down and needed to stop for water so we stopped at the store and as we were leaving we noticed @NeGrilATL and my friend Byron said that sounds like a Jamaican spot. We all look at eachother and says Jamaican sounds good lol The restaurant looked closed but we stopped to make sure and it was actually open. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very elegant and welcoming and the service was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server gave us great recommendations including the shrimp cornbread toast which will literally blow your mind. By far one of the most flavorful dishes I've had in a long time, I'm super impressed. The wings were really well done which was disappointing compared to the rest of the meal because the oxtail was amazing. The sauce went perfect with the rice. If i would improve anything it would be to make the wings more tender and don't reuse them after a day if it was already cooked well done and the rice could be a little better. I think the rice could have been a day old as well which happens when you want to save money and aren't as busy. I believe the busier they are the better the food will be because it will be fresh. But I really enjoyed the oxtails and shrimp cornbread and definitely recommend this spot. I am always craving Oxtail

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't be fooled from the outside appearance. I definitely recommend that they add more trees to hide the highway however, once you go inside, it's a beautifully designed restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was really good. They make accommodations for you. If you ask nicely, of course. my girlfriend had the curry goat and I had the mac & cheese. currently they don't have a liquor license so it's bring your own wine. However they are conveniently located next to a liquor store!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]definitely get your ladies bring your own bottles save on liquor and enjoy some good food and good music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]!!!!

BK stand up!! Everythang was amazing!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is quaint and has a very lovely interior![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The soup (Lawd if it wasn't piping hot!!!) I would've drank it!! I had a pineapple cucumber margarita (mocktail...no liquor license yet) and it was super refreshing!! Can't wait to have some tequilla in it!! I ordered the oxtails, rice 'n pea, cabbage and a side of mac 'n cheese. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!! I met a lady on the way out who wasn't sure if it was open or not....I hope she took me up on my "in-person" review!! See yall soon!!

Coco curry salmon -

We have had the worst restaurant experiences in Atlanta this past week and NegrilATL took the cake. The delay, lack of customer service, and drop in food quality in this establishment is just disappointing. Especially since I had such a great experience at the Brooklyn location. Firstly, it took 40 minutes to receive our appetizers, one order of jerk wings and an order of ackee and Saltfish egg rolls. And they were COLD! Normally this would've be an automatic "thank you, we're paying for what we have received and we are leaving." However we'd been at a conference all day and it was too close to a time when most restaurants were closing. We decided to extend some extra patience or risk not eating at all that night. Much to our dismay, the entrees (coco salmon and whole snapper) took an additional 45 mins and they too, were COLD! Day two in Atlanta and this downtown restaurant scene is not looking good. Imagine the joke was on us when the plates were hot but the food was burnt, over fried and served cold. Absolutely not freshly cooked at all.

Jerk salmon and mixed veggies

Upon arrival, at approximately 12:10 pm, the restaurant wasn't ready to seat anyone. We were then told by our server that they were out of a number of items on the menu. Seemed odd considering they just opened for the day. Food was hit and miss. I ordered the Jerk Salmon with mixed vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the jerk sauce was great. However, the mixed vegetables had no seasoning and the mashed sweet potato also had no seasoning.

Negril village is one of the few Jamaican Restaurants in the metro area that has a sophisticated yet casual ambiance. The building is an old historic Firehouse built in 1907 and you'll surely see and feel the elegance and charm of construction. We came to celebrate my grandmothers 80th and my family is a picky, opinionated bunch so we decided to just eat Jamaican Food (like we don't eat this everyday- LOL. With that in mind we knew to visit Negril because it's one of the few places that will provide the atmosphere to celebrate an occasion like that. The service was Great! The waiter was patient with my family and gave answers to questions. My family is Old School and cook everyday, and if they don't cook they cook something that's quick. So when eating out they have questions and he was very patient. He also allowed us to split the check which was a plus. The menu has typical Jamaican Fare and a few items that are fused with American favorites like wings, pasta and grits.... In all we enjoyed ourselves. For constructive criticism I would serve wine in a wine glass especially with the ambiance of the restaurant. My mother was taken back when they brought the wine in a rinsed tumbler. That's really my only con. They do offer brunch, so this is a popular restaurant for Brunch Vibes and Sunday Funday. They also have a large event space upstairs that can accommodate your event and host parties during holiday weekends in Atlanta. Until this most recent trip I hadn't visited in years but from what I remember and based on other recent reviews they get packed fast! Be sure to book a reservation and if you have a group everyone MUST be there to be seated!

Big & Juicy Shrimp

I enjoyed my shrimp and grits. They were so flavorful and filled me up. The tomato based creole sauce paired so well with the grits. My friends enjoyed their entrees as well. For my drink , I ordered the Rude Gyal with vodka and it was so fruity and not too strong. The service was slow that is the reason for the 3 reviews. There was only one waitress for multiple tables which caused the long waits. Our server was good and helpful . She made the experience better and was apologetic. We watched one table leave because they had not been helped for a long while. The only recommendation is better service to minimize the long wait times for drinks and foods. The decor is beautiful and I liked the artwork upstairs.

Ackee & Saltfish Spring Rolls
Nikita H.

The ackee and saltfish eggrolls were very delicious. The sweet sauce was a nice accompaniment. I enjoyed the oxtail, but I felt like the flavor was lit exactly my preference. It leaned more into spicy flavor without the spicy kick and without enough of other flavors. I hope that makes sense because that's the best way I could explain it. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were fun. They suggested a giant mimosa tower which got me and my two friends exactly where we needed to be. I started off with an old fashioned and finished with the mimosas. They have outside seating, bar seating, regular seating and parking (about 20-30 spots)

Wondering if there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to all checks or just parties of 6 or more?

Only large parties over 6.

Does anyone know if they still serve the ackee tostones? I'm not seeing it on the menu

I was just there and that wasn't on the menu :(

Omg after spending time reading the "not recommended reviews" AS WELL AS some of the current reviews, can anyone tell me if management had been changed or gotten any better? Like has the overall service improved?

To be honest this makes my second time coming here and this place has always been nice and amazing. Food is awesome and the drinks that are now to go is great as well. Service was on point food was fresh as the first time I came

Do they have bottomless mimosas during Sunday Brunch?

Not that I am aware of. I know you can buy pitchers of mimosas but I don't think they offer bottomless mimosas.

Is this a good place to dress up for a 50th birthday dinner? elegant enough?

Yes you can. It's all about the group you bring for what ever occasion. If I'm going for brunch we dress casual. If I'm going for a birthday I dress formal. Both work at this restaurant.

Is there live music here on Saturday nights?

It appears that they have live music on random days. Particularly Friday. I went on a Saturday and there was no live music so it's best to just call ahead or check the website to make sure.

Is the environment family friendly for Sunday brunch?

No. The last two times I went it was packed to the brim to the point where it felt more like a house party than dining out. There was a live band, but it was extremely loud and rambunctious in general. I guess it depends on how old the kids are but…

Do I have to have a reservation?

For a larger group call for a reservation. Small groups can walk in (do come early and expect a wait)

This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.

We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday and had issue finding parking in their main lot. There is an overflow lot behind the building and there is signage to direct there if needed. When we arrived, we smelled something delicious coming from the on-site food truck, heard some great live music coming from inside and there were a ton of folks inside and outside just having a good ol time. Once we walked inside, there was plenty of beer on tap but I appreciated that there were frozen drinks available and with their partnership with Urban Tree, I was excited to see some of my old favorite ciders. The guy that helped me was super sweet and helpful. He made some great suggestions and I had a vodka blueberry lemonade, came back later for a water-marita which was my favorite. We order some loaded fries from their onsite food truck and the fries were amazinggggg! Huge portion, hot, and just the right amount of food. They have plenty of other stuff on the menu but the fries were good enough for the both of us. I totally forgot what drink my husband got but I do remember he enjoyed them. We had a great time just people watching, listening to music and chatting with folks. This is a good place to just come and hang for awhile for sure and we'll be back sooooooon.
