NOT Celiac Safe! I learned the hard way. Mix tape is supposed to be a "gluten free" restaurant, offering an all gluten free menu. However, they are NOT celiac safe because they share their kitchen with all the other restaurants at Neighborly. I was glutened really badly at this "gluten free" place. But nowhere do they say they are celiac safe. It's one small kitchen for like 5 different restaurants. There is no way that is safe, yet I trusted them anyway. There also isn't any allergy information on their menu or website. I emailed them requesting some allergy info and never received a response. And since you order via a screen, you can't talk to anyone behind the counter and ask them to take saftey measures to prevent cross contamination. I'm not even a sensitive celiac but somehow I still got violently glutened from some fries and ice cream...how? They say they have a dedicated fryer. Be warned!! read more

We love this place! .. my husband and I never agree on what we want for dinner. Neighborly has been a game changer. There's something for everyone and it's always good! The service it also stellar ..A lot of restaurants gave up on good customer service a couple yrs ago, They kick everyone's butt in that department . We placed a takeout order for a Gaby's Grains and Greens Salad with chicken and used the digital screen inside the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes to prepare the salad, which is totally fine. The staff was super friendly and checked on the status of our order a few times. While we were waiting, we browsed the marketplace- artisan food items for sale and other refrigerated to-go items. The salad was nicely packed and looked very fresh. Here's what went a bit sideways- we were given the wrong salad altogether. We received a Mini Kabob Katya's Greek Salad instead of a Gaby's Grains and Greens salad. My receipt showed the correct item, however. It was too late to return the salad when we realized this error. It's unfortunate because we didn't want this salad. It was fine- good quality and fresh. The portion was pretty good also. The salad was a bit salty for our taste, though. Observations- the marketplace items are unique but very expensive. Dried fruit for $13, a slice of vegan cake for $13, olive oil for $26, etc. The ordering system can be confusing. There's plenty of staff to help answer questions though. If you dine in, do you seat yourself or wait to be seated? Do you scan QR codes at the table? I don't know...it would be good to have some guidance here. If you place a takeout order like us, it is a little awkward to just mill about. The space is pretty small and I felt like I was getting in peoples' way. There is very little indoor seating. I counted space for 20 people total. There is quite a bit outdoor seating but it was freezing cold last night, so that was not an option for us. I'd recommend someone does an order check before it goes out. I have been super impressed with everything here. Gaby's and mini kabob have been delicious. I've ordered Gaby's several times. The club sandwich, the burrito bowl, and the salmon bowl were all 10/10. We ordered the kabob place for the first time the other day, we got the Armens deluxe cheeseburger wrap and the mini kabob wrap and they were amazing. But I tried to order it again later in the week and neither wrap were available on the menu. So if you guys see this, bring Armen and the mini kabob back! They were delicious. read more

Every time I've been here I've had a great experience. The staff is great- attentive and observant. I brought my wife and son and they immediately brought him a water cup and crayons and coloring pad without asking. Made sure we had a heater near us. And the food is great! Visited Neighborly on night 1 and the place did not disappoint! The location is gorgeous and love that there are so many market items to choose from in addition to the variety of restaurants to order from. There was a short line to order at the kiosks, but it moved fairly quickly and Daniel was there to help guide the process / answer any questions. We ordered takeout from The Cheese Store and selected the kids pepperoni pizza, the lemon pasta and an arugula salad. Our order took just under 20 minutes to be ready and while we waited the owner, Mario, chatted with us and was so friendly and offered up sauces to accompany our pizza. The portions were a good size for sharing (especially the kids pizza, which is a great value). Everything was so flavorful and really held up as a takeout order. Can't wait to try all of the restaurants here, a great addition to Westlake! read more

I love this concept! It was a bit confusing how it all worked right when you walk in, but luckily there were some very helpful employees that provided the menus and explanation for how to order right away. 4 different pop-up restaurants all in one space, you review their menus, and order everything through an electronic kiosk. I love that this space is also designed like a little shop with artisan local brand products for purchase. I tried the Thai Ginger and guava bambuchas this time and they were so damn goooood, I know I'll be back for more shopping. I can definitely see myself buying fun gifts for friends there. This time we decided to try Gaby's restaurant since I've been following and enjoying her chef journey for quite some time and I remembered how amazing her food was when I tried it years ago! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The food came out quickly and the staff were very attentive the entire time. We got the teriyaki chicken bowl and chipotle chicken burrito bowl and both were packed with so much flavor and color. I loved the variety of textures in the bowls too. Had such an awesome experience here! Everyone at the restaurant was so nice! The prices were very reasonable and they had great portions for the cost. Love the concept of one kitchen making food from 4 different restaurants, which cuts out the hassle of ordering and picking up from multiple food stalls at a traditional food hall! It seems like a great place for a group with different food interests, as you could all sit together but order from different restaurants! They also have a cold section and lots of miscellaneous artisanal items (chips, jams, nuts, etc) available for purchase around the store which I loved! The service here was really great and there are so many employees throughout the process which makes everything so smooth! First, someone greeted us at the door, handed us menus, and explained the concept. Then, while we waited to order at the kiosk, the owner of Neighborly, Mario, came down the line to welcome us and offer us recommendations. I understand he's likely just there to gather feedback and ensure the opening week goes smoothly, but he was really nice and it was great to meet him. It definitely added to the "Neighborly" feel of the place. They have another employee standing at the ordering kiosk and a cashier where you can order the prepared cold bar stuff without waiting in the hot food line. After you order at a kiosk for the food, we picked a table and they brought us water, cups, plates, utensils, and napkins. There is also a section in the restaurant for you to grab more plates, utensils, napkins, etc as needed. We ordered the Parisien sandwich, vodka pasta, orange chicken, and Thai Basil Cashew chicken. Our absolute fave was the Parisien! Simple but sooo good! French butter, ham, and triple creme Brie on a toasted ciabatta roll was a total match made in heaven and I would come back just for the sandwich! The vodka pasta also had a great flavor and was really saucy. The two asian inspired dishes we had were good but pretty standard, definitely think the sandwiches here are a highlight! Someone also came and checked in on us during our meal to make sure everything was going well which was nice. I would definitely come back! One thing I will say is there isn't a ton of indoor seating at the moment, so most of the seating is outdoors which is something to note. read more

The concept is awesome, and the ambiance is amazing and fun. It doesn't feel like the boring suburbs at all. I really appreciate all the small food goodies they sell from smaller brands, and the food itself was very good. So why only 3 stars? The ordering process is maddening. The line was way out the door. As I tried to peek inside, I saw that you order on a screen--but out of three kiosks, only one was working. Three very friendly employees were walking around explaining the ordering process to people in the long line. Still, when people got to the kiosk, it took forever--partly because the concept includes many different menus, which adds confusion. Meanwhile, the 3 employees were just standing around, chatting with each other and customers, which made the whole system feel inefficient. I really think they need to rethink this part of the experience. If they fixed the ordering process, this place would easily be 5 stars. I waited 15 minutes just to order... and my food was ready in under 10. As I left I overheard two other patrons also talking about frustrating the ordering was and how they just need to have the actual employees take your order. I agree! read more

Let's start with a few good things, such as good patio seating outside and ample parking. I really wanted to like this food hall concept. But it ends up being average or subpar food that is brought out at different times. Prices are OK but some are higher than justified for the quality and portions. And service can be hit or miss. Finally, the order screens are impersonal and often glitchy. I wish them the best when Whole Foods opens up across the parking lot. read more

this is a food hall with 4 restaurants working out of one kitchen. i had visited this location before when it was JUST the social monk and thought the food was only okay. obviously it couldn't carry the space on its own, but it works out because i thought this new experience was pretty good! there could definitely be some improvements though. you walk in and there's an immediate shop area. the to-go goods looked fantastic. there was this brown sugar cinnamon butter i really wanted to try and also pickles in a honey mustard. there are also full meals you could grab to go if you're in a hurry. you order off a kiosk and there are employees milling around offering help if needed. the four main restaurants are Gaby's, the cheese store pizza, social monk, and mini kabob. i guess there is also the flour shop small batch gourmet cookies that i saw on display after i had ordered but am seeing on their website now. i remember thinking that a cookie would have been nice, but that i didn't see it on the kiosk and wouldn't have known about ordering one, and didn't know how to order one after the fact. it was the same for the store goods; was there a scanner on the kiosk for that stuff? my friend who has been there before bought a bag of crackers so i could ask her. when you get a table, you scan a qr code and enter the code on your check number. this tells the staff where to deliver your food. i ordered a chipotle chicken salad from gaby's and a side of garlic broccoli from social monk. everyone else at my table ordered from mini kabob. all of my food came out first even though i ordered last, but maybe because it was easier? my broccoli was very mid and undercooked but my salad was freaking fantastic. it was huge with a variety of stuff and everything was fresh. my friends were very happy with their chicken kabob meals (and one cheeseburger wrap and one chicken tender kids meal). i will say though that the chicken tenders were not that; it was a sliced chicken cutlet. and the tzatziki in the kabob meals was just yogurt. there were no cucumbers in it. but everything tasted great. the restaurant was very busy while we were there (lunchtime on a sunday) but i heard A LOT of other people complaining about being confused by ordering and the qr codes on the tables. and it seemed to be a mix of waitstaff and self-serve so it was unclear what the etiquette was. i do want to shout out specific staff Ned who was super helpful in explaining the restaurant concept to us when we walked in (it was two of our group's first time here) and i had dropped my car keys in the parking lot and she was nice and professional in gathering my information and helping me look for them. and also staff member Ben who was a dick for no reason. at the front door, there are paper menus for every restaurant and people leave them at the ordering kiosk. staff was collecting them and putting them back at the front to keep the restaurant looking nice. after i ordered, i didn't want to leave my menus at the kiosk, so i turned and offered them to Ben and he was like "yeah you can just..." and took them from me and just tossed them on some random table. like, okay. and then at the end of our meal, he came out to our table and asked if we needed anything and my friend asked for a box and he was like "yeah no problem!" but we could tell from his tone that he was not going to come back with a box. and then he did not come back at all. everyone else was seriously so nice so he was probably just having a bad day, but don't make your bad day my bad day. read more

I had a great experience here. I brought my baby and they were all so kind and gracious to us. The employees were making sure that we had a good seeds. They brought us water. They brought straws for my baby to play with and of course he had a great time because he was able to sit at the fountain the whole time that we ate the food every time we've come has been so delicious. I got a sandwich today. We've tried the Chinese before and I do really like it and I'm excited to try the pizza from the cheese store next there's a cute little marketplace and they have interesting goods. I'm not sure that I would get anything here because It's a little bit Niche and expensive for my cooking style. Food is amazing though and even though it's a kind of marketplace vibe, they still do a great job making it feel comfortable the outside seat.
