I'm giving a 5 for great service and a -1 for crummy outlets. Bring a book or something to hold your phone cord into the outlet . Don't know how the slots get too big but the phon falls out. I tried 3 of the 5. Just so you know. Otherwise it's a beautiful cafe. Very sweet staff. My car died and I'm waiting for my friend to take me to buy a new battery so I've been in here 3 hours!!! Which I'm grateful but outlets are such a big deal nowadays. There is the cord slot next to the outlet which may work better but I like using my anker fast fast charger. The coffee is delicious! The person working the drive-thru was very nice, friendly, and quite chipper for it being 5 am on an early Sunday morning! She definitely had the disposition for that job! I had placed my order on the mobile app as my car was finishing up charging at the nearby Tesla charging station. There was only 1 car ahead of me, so it was a short wait in line for my usual grande blonde vanilla latte to be ready. This morning, on my birthday, I had one of the most shocking and humiliating experiences I've ever had at any business -- and it happened at this Starbucks location. I placed a mobile order and called the store because the app wouldn't allow me to customize my drink to "light ice." I spoke with Andrew, who identified himself as the manager. During our call, I was getting ready and my phone was at a distance, so my voice may have sounded louder than usual. I even apologized and explained that I wasn't yelling -- I was simply far from my phone. Despite my apology, he began raising his voice, telling me to stop cutting him off, and then threatened to "blacklist" me from all Starbucks in the district. I was shocked, but I remained calm and ended the call politely. When I later went into the store to pick up my drink, I asked another employee if I could speak with a manager to clarify what had happened. Andrew overheard me, immediately began yelling, and aggressively told me to "get out now." At that point, I was visibly upset and crying, and he continued approaching me - stepping out from behind the counter and into my personal space while continuing to yell. I told him that his behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional. His response was to say he's the manager and that he was calling the police on me. I was completely taken aback, I had not raised my voice, made any threats, or acted aggressively. I simply wanted to pick up my paid order. As a pregnant Black woman, this was extremely distressing and felt discriminatory. My husband, who was waiting in the car, went inside afterward to ask what had happened and if he could get contact information for corporate. Before he could even speak, Andrew was reportedly in the back calling the police, and when he came out, he cursed at my husband and told him to "get the f*** out." Other employees quietly told my husband that "he does this all the time." This entire incident was unprofessional, discriminatory, and escalated without cause. The manager's decision to contact law enforcement without any legitimate reason was a wrongful and unnecessary misuse of authority, which could easily be interpreted as harassment and racial bias. Starbucks management and corporate leadership should review this immediately, not only because of the trauma it caused, but because it represents a serious failure in de-escalation and duty of care. I've already filed a formal complaint with Starbucks corporate and plan to pursue this further through the appropriate channels. No one....especially a pregnant woman should ever be treated this way for making a simple mobile order. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this Starbucks location. I've been coming here since it opened a few years back and I feel the quality of the service has gone down. The staff seem to change frequently so that might be why. I haven't sat in this location for work or leisure but I do enjoy the atmosphere. It's spacious and the layout of the tables offers considerable options for seating. I will say that I do see the lobby closed more often than I'd like to which can be frustrating as I live nearby and walk here so I can't use the drive thru. Overall, I enjoy this location, but I wish they would address the quality concerns. read more

The lady at the cashier desk was very rude. There was no one there when I first walked in. They only had two breakfast sandwiches. I was confused when I got something other than my normal which was the turkey bacon sandwich. When I asked her about it she says it just comes like that. This is a new Starbucks conveniently located at shopping center at Camelback and Miller. The inside is above average sized with alot of chairs. There is a busy drive thru. Staff(shout out to Trayven) is excellent fulfilling my orders promptly and courteously. There are two toilet rooms and alot of electrical outlets. Been coming to this location since they opened. I love that they open at 5am (5:30 on Sundays). What's great is that you see the same group of regulars most mornings. I used to be a Starbucks barista back in the day, and creating that community experience is what a quality cafe is all about. There's a group that convenes every morning and discusses the latest headlines and a man who has intense conversations in sign language via his laptop. It is a Starbucks so there aren't big surprises. They continue to have the challenge of sourcing quality pastries (just like they did when I worked for them 20 years ago). Pro tip: always order the iced lemon pound cake. It's a ton of calories but consistently good which is why Starbucks has carried it for years. I think the only thing missing from this location is a bit more sampling and experiences. I am guessing that this isn't happening due to COVID protocols but I used to love sampling coffees and pastries for my customers. I noticed this morning that they are selling a "Thanksgiving Blend" coffee. I have never had that one and would love to try it first. (The "Christmas Blend" is excellent with its bold Sumatra beans!). All in all, this is a nice location with a consistent experience. Ari needs an attitude adjustment or fired. I normally don't go to the Starbucks but my normal location is getting remodeled. I ordered the same thing I always do which is a nitro cold brew with a splash of oat milk. When I went to pick it up, it was half oat milk and half nitro cold brew. I waited patiently and told Ari that it was half oatmilk, she didn't say anything or make any expression, she grabbed the cup from my hand, threw it in the trash, made another one then handed me the new one. I order the same drink twice a day from various Starbucks but I frequent this one regularly. The first time it came out it didn't look right and had chunks of separated oat milk and was black on the bottom. I asked for a fresh one and the girl proceeded to tell me we were wrong and it's always this way then after waiting 5 minutes they handed me the same drink or it appeared to be. I have work so I left and when I sipped it it was sour and disgusting. I wouldn't be as mad if the girl didn't waste so much of my time explaining how I was wrong when this is my favorite drink I have all the time.
