Honestly I don't know what I expected, I went to the San Jose location and experienced the same vibe. And it was not a good one. The products are great and I love my vertuo but I have to warn all POC that are BROWN. These boutiques are not for us. Obvious favoritism. Upon arriving they treated everyone that was white or Asian and ignored my family. They were doing a tasting and the woman yelled at us to move when we were obviously not taking up space.... Came here today to stock up some of our favorite coffee capsules. We were greeted immediately at the door, the lady put us on the list to purchase. We were offered to do some tasting at the back of the store for new flavors. We have the originals at home and the new Cuba and Blue Bottle edition was for the vertuo. Hence, we decided to get a vertuo machine too. The lady who helped us is Elli and she was very helpful, informative, friendly, and patient. She answered all of our questions and suggested the best product and deal per our needs. She even offered stickers to my daughter who was running out of patience (lol). I can't believe how unnecessarily complicated the Nespresso store experience has become. All I wanted to do was purchase coffee, but you can't simply walk up to a register and pay. Instead, they have a confusing system where you're put on a "list" by someone holding a tablet, and then you have to wait just to be called up to a register--while plenty of staff are standing around chatting about coffee or handing out samples. It's incredibly frustrating to see so many employees who can't actually help you purchase, while customers who just want to buy their coffee and go are left waiting. Why not just have more open registers instead of this ridiculous "list" process? The whole setup feels inefficient and unnecessarily time-consuming. Listen I get it I'm not the type of dog owner that takes their dog into a grocery store or a restaurant or where there is food exposed, but this is a Nespresso store. I stepped outside and was later greeted by an associate with the menu of coffee. I placed my order and later paid for the coffee. Not sure why the policy was changed, but I'm going to guess Nesprersso will say their policy changed for the safety of their employees and customers. Anyways, on top of not allowing you dog inside the store plus the absurd customer service of adding your name to the list to be helped while plenty of associates stand around is really frustrating and a waist of time. My boyfriend and I have been to this location before to purchase pods but our latest visit was the least welcoming. After arriving and falling place in line, we felt undermined by an associate named Seth as he greeted and acknowledged the guests that were behind us in line first. That instance of not being acknowledged made us feel very uncomfortable for the rest of our visit. The Machine Works although the cleaning instructions are in European Think. So it took awhile to figure out how to clean. Which is about every 6 to 7 months with Hetch-Hetchy water cleanliness. The recycling program with pods is nice at no cost. Machine gives several different options for amounts of water for Demitasse or larger amounts of water if maybe you want an americano. Or just plain hot water. We mounted ours on a bamboo wood tray with rollers so it moves easily on the counter because you fill it with water from the rear part of machine. When full of used pods it's always a surprise and you can't load it. First thing in the morning Pain in the Ass. You have to stop and unload used pods. I think it's a Beta and VHS kind of thing with the Kcup or Nesjpresso. Don't get the wire pod carousel get the small Black carousel so you can load the whole box and see what you want for breakfast. Although hard to reach like all support these days protected by AI. When getting to a Human they spoke US English without an Indian or Phillipean accent. Very Helpful. read more

You have to stand in a line just to buy pods, even if you know exactly what you want. I understand maybe if you're not sure or you're in the market for a machine and want to talk to someone, but maybe have a separate line for that. Like all the other reviewers said, everyone working here is super cold. (In general, I find this to be true of employees at most shops at the Stanford shopping center.) We were low on pods so actually waited in line once to get them. We told them what we wanted, got rung up, and paid... and then someone came from the back and said one of the pods we wanted was no longer available. They asked us if the other flavor from the same line was OK, and we said fine. Then they made us stand there and wait for a long time for a reason I don't really understand. When we asked if we could just leave with our purchases that we already paid for, they said they were still processing the return of the other pods for the alternate pods which were the same price but we had to stand there and wait for them to finish processing the return before we could leave so they could keep track of inventory. Not really sure why they had to make this our problem when we paid the correct total and already accepted an alternative option on something that was their bad. read more

We'd try the sample they were offering, look around in the store, occasionally buy some accessory, checkout with our order of sleeves, asked if we'd like a recycling bag and head on our way. Today we walk in with our dog and ate told our dog is no longer welcome in their store unless they're a service dog!? We're directed to wait outside until they can come out and take our order, which they after a bit of time. They then come out with our bag of sleeves and send us on our way. Visited this location yesterday to buy coffee sleeves. Significantly long wait in a line outside the store, then admitted into the store only to wait in another "purchasing line." Like it's the Gucci of coffee with this kind of wait. I was offered small samples by a worker inside, and when I declined and reinforced that I'd just like to buy coffee, I'm reminded to wait in line and "I'm only trying to offer samples while you wait!" Like I said something insulting to her. Meanwhile both of the groups before me and behind me had full cups of coffee but what I was offered was little sample cups. I've heard that this store has poor customer service and favoritism but really experienced it for myself. I usually purchase online but had to go to the store due to a buy 8 get 2 sleeves free in stores only sale. If you're going to offer this kind of sale, maybe try having enough employees on the floor to deal with the volume of customers in a timely fashion? Especially customers that aren't looking to do a tasting, already know what they want, and just want to buy coffee. read more

Hubby bought me a Nespresso machine for Christmas and I've been meaning to stock up on pods since we tried out the "sample" box. They opened at 12 on a Saturday they had a line formed immediately as I entered. They prefer you wait in line to be serviced by an employee versus walking around yourself (not sure if this is due to COVID or not). The interior gives off a service-bar feel; someone assists you with your order and needs. They also keep your purchase history which is great when you want to see what you last ordered. The staff member that assisted me was super sweet. I told her I was new to Nespresso and wanted suggestions based off of the Ethiopia flavor I liked. I went with her suggestion and stocked up on the Kona flavor which was a limited edition. I also asked several questions about how to use my machine and she assisted me the entire way. The service here exceeded my expectations. You can call it a scam but it sure worked on me! I'll definitely be shopping for more pods from this boutique moving forward. Assistant manager of Nespresso Boutique, I, too, am capable of low blows!), took it upon himself to share his parenting views with me. I am uncertain as to why he felt the urgent need to make a woman with a newborn and a toddler feel bad about her parenting choices. Perhaps he was having a bad day and wanted someone else to feel bad. Perhaps he felt dissatisfied with his own life decisions. This is the second time with nespresso I order and pay for sleeves they say they will ship and they never deliver - when I check status it says returned to sender , but sender never credits my charge till I have to call and wait on line with someone who you can barely communicate with ( had a rude one) and takes a long long time to resolve ..this is the second time it happens to me ( haven't even resolved the 2 nd incident ) but it has also happened to 2 of my neighbors exact same situation never got product but were charged and only when they called again did it get product .... They try to use leave excuses but it's defectively a system issue or they are dishonest no other explanation .... Last time I checked if a product is returned to sender by their freight folks they would look at who it was supposed to be deliver and credit them !! I was greeted immediately upon entering, explained my taste in coffee and how I was going to be using my machine (I bought a hand-pumped Nespresso compatible machine for traveling), and I was immediately whisked back to the tasting bar. The person serving me applied no pressure and gave me plenty of time to sample. I tried 4 kinds of capsules and eventually settled on two of them. They also offered a recycling bag (I hadn't realized that Nespresso capsules are much more recyclable than other types of pods) and rang me up very quickly. Even though I only bought two sleeves, I felt like a VIP at a very high end boutique. The prices are the same here as anywhere, but with an absolutely enormous selection of capsules. I recently invested in a Nespresso Creatista espresso machine and of course I needed to purchase some Nespresso modules to go along with my new favorite kitchen toy. I am fortunate enough to have a nice Nespresso boutique not far from where I live. This particular store is located in Stanford Mall, which is a wide open outdoor mall with lots of other shops, restaurants, and to go food choices. I have been here at least 3 times since I've purchased my new machine and there has always been a wait outside the door as they are limiting the total number of people inside the store. Currently, it's 2 customer groups at a time. When you stand in line, someone will usually walk through the line and ask you if you need to see a menu. If you do, she or he will hand you a clipboard with a menu and pencil to fill in your order as you wait in line. Once you're inside, the process is very straightforward. You hand the menu to the cashier and they go to the back room to put together your order. I also like how they have plastic bags available to bring in your used modules so they can be properly recycled. Service has always been friendly and very professional. They make it so easy to get caffeinated. read more
