I have worked in formal Chinese restaurants that serve American and traditional Chinese food, I feel like this place is a step up from your "average takeout place". I love this place, my wife and I stopped in last week craving some soup and sushi. Once I looked at the menu though my eyes locked in on the General Tso Chicken. I had the Wonton Soup as well and both were delicious. The portions were very big and the presentation also very nice. They take great pride you can tell in the preparation of food at New Garden. My wife had Egg Drop Soup and loved it along with her California Roll. We definitely plan to go back soon. read more

WOW!! We found this place on yelp.... We decided to try it out....and......it is awesome. When u get here....the outside looks a little shabby, but the inside is very elegant.... It is also very quiet...even the kids that come with their parents are very well mannered....the food is AWESOME to....I got the Moo Goo Gai Pan......it was great....it is a very large plate of food for the money....and the staff is very attentive and nice....definitely come here and enjoy a meal. read more

My husband and I have searched the entire Cincinnati area for years for a moderately priced, sit-down Chinese restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and good food. It's quite a drive, but well worth the trip. We were there yesterday afternoon in time for the lunch specials (HUGE portions). For $25 we each had an appetizer, an entree, a beverage, and one bowl of soup. It's a neat twist that they serve sushi, and I plan to try the Pad Thai sometime, too. read more

We have started to eat here several times a week. It is a minute from the house, so very convenient, great service, great price, quick order, quick hot food, generous portions and always seems to have fresh ingredients. The right amount of TV if you want or don't want available by where you sit. Our teenage kids enjoy most of the offered dishes and the younger kids claim they have the "Best Chinese Pizza". This has become part of Fort Thomas standard faire and would recommend to anyone who wants a delicious value lunch or dinner. read more

I like having another restaurant option in Fort Thomas and New Garden has been a pleasant surprise. My favorite dish is the Hunan Chicken, lots of fresh and tasty vegetables. Also the portions are large for the prices. Not the most flavorful dishes and not spicy at all, but the enormous amount of fresh veggies really makes me happy! After looking around for a long while, finally a Chinese place I approve of. Not busy, extremely clean, very friendly staff. Food was quick, fresh, and came out piping hot. Large portions so those with tiny stomachs like me may want to split with someone or have leftovers. I had the sesame chicken and it comes with white or fried rice and broccoli. I'm happy New Garden opened up in Ft. Thomas, it would be great if we could get more diversity food wise around town (someone please open an Indian restaurant!). New Garden is great for the price! The Lo Mein is delish (don't order the Pad Thai though). I always go with my kids and order a bunch of sushi rolls. The sushi always taste fresh and it's very inexpensive. Grand opening was in February 2012. The space is well-lit, clean and very comfortable. Casual & kid-friendly. So, I have to be honest and say I didn't have high hopes for this place. Even after seeing it had decent Yelp reviews, and even after people I actually knew had raved about it. A Chinese place in Fort Thomas? I just didn't see it happening. But I was wrong! First of all, there are some good coupons for this place floating around out there. Ours was BOGO on lunch or a combo. We were here during dinner time, so we went with the combo. I ordered Szechuan beef, and my fiancee ordered General Tso's chicken. Each combo started out with a huge egg roll - very hot, very crisp, like it had just been fried. YUM! The large entree came with a heaping portion of chicken fried rice. I loved that it was chicken instead of that weird pork that is dyed red that so many places do - everything tasted great, and it came out so steaming hot, that we had to wait to eat it! There were also a lot of veggies mixed in with the meat, which is nice. Lastly, out came the fortune cookies, but bonus! There was a cute half of an orange brought with them too. Our server was super friendly, and the price can't be beat - with our coupon, we got 2 soft drinks and 2 combs for $11 before tip. Plus we had enough leftovers to each have at least 1 more meal (mine was actually 2 more!). Even more of a bonus is that this is walking distance from my house. We have been going to New Garden since it opened and I have to say that they have the best food - hands-down! I tried another restaurant who always gets rave reviews in the local Best of competition and they weren't nearly half as good. Also, the staff at New Garden is so accommodating. I have recently stopped eating rice for health reasons. We went to New Garden for dinner on Friday. I explained to our waitress that I couldn't have rice and asked if I could have a few extra veggies added to my meal. They added more veggies - with no extra charge! (I was ready to pay extra because of the special request) The 'other' restaurant I went to a few weeks ago told me that they don't do any type of substitutions and that if I didn't want the rice, then I was pretty much out of luck because they don't/won't add anything to a meal. And their meal was higher priced and not as flavorful as the one from my favorite New Garden. Even my daughters - who have not yet come to appreciate the yumminess of Chinese food RAVE about the pizza that they serve on the kids menu (which is a win in my book - Mom and Dad get our Chinese food and the kids get their pizza!) Needless to say, we will not be going anywhere else for our Chinese food from now on! New Garden is awesome! read more

This is my husband and I's favorite Chinese restaurant. The service is good and the food is great. The owners are always so nice and the portions are huge. I always have left overs. The prices are great as well. We can both eat large meals for $15. What more could you ask for?
