Mango bubble tea with flavorful jasmine tea
    Judy C.

First time here. I ordered spare ribs and it's pork fried rice and chicken pad Thai. Also got a mango bubble tea. Bubble tea was really good with the jasmine tea they used. For $4 something it was totally worth it. Bubbles were nice and chewy too. I can't say much about the spare ribs and fried rice but it looked delicious. Friend took it home, so I couldn't try it. The pad Thai was packed but lacked that sweet pad Thai flavor. Also smelled like mai fun more than pad Thai. I still ate it though bc it was ok and I generally hate pad Thai anyway. I only ordered it bc I wanted fried noodles that wasn't chow fun, mei fun, or Lo mein. Lol.

First time here since new owners took over. order beef fried rice and a pork egg roll. rice was not oily. In fact it was delicious and so was the egg roll. Friendly service and didn't have to wait long for my take out order. will try something different next time.

Amazing food, ordered shrimp w/ broccoli, jumbo shrimp w/ rice noodles & a rice noodle soup. Amazing taste, amazing customer service! I highly recommend this spot for your Chinese food needs.

    Fried chicken n brown rice

Fresh Fried Bird made to order. This Chinese takeout/bubble tea joint has no A/C. The workers looked miserable, especially slaving over that fiery wok over this unforgiving summer heat. Despite the sauna like working conditions, the owner was really polite and affable. I got half-fried chicken w/brown rice, hot wings, and a side of tostones/fried green plantains. The fried chicken wasn't overly salty and sort of reminded me of 'Roy Rogers' with a Chinese twist. The brown rice tasted quality, definitely better than the brown rice they give you at King Chef in the Pathmark shopping center. The hot wings were a little disappointing. The chicken wings would have been much better undressed with the salty version of General Tso's they slathered on em. I wish I had ordered my chicken wings plain. The tostones were made to order, and were delicious and plentiful. Would I come back?...yeah maybe if I'm in the neighborhood, but not something I'll crave and have continuous dreams about it. Better than average Chinese fast food fried chicken but no wow factor.

Super oily shrimp roll had to throw it away
    Mel R.

I would suggest never ordering from this place. This is a shrimp roll I ordered today on 1/1/19 it was so oily it was inedible. I also ordered broccoli and garlic sauce with pork fried rice. The rice was under cooked and hard and the broccoli had almost no flavor I had to throw it out. So I spent 11 dollars on dinner to end up still hungry. I called to let them know about the inedible egg roll so that it doesn't happen to other people and the girl on the phone hung up on me. I will never be ordering from here again.

Food is amazing. Very friendly service always accommodating. Love their basil chicken I ordered it with broccoli instead of zucchini.

The restaurant has traditional southeast Asian furniture which was nice and service was super quick too. As I entered the restaurant, the ambiance felt like I was going to a quaint location in rural China. The decor and waterfall added a nice needed touch. The Peking duck comes with sugar, pineapple, hoisin cucumber. The peking duck was overdone by a tiny bit. It was light and clean but was a very forgettable dish The Lotus root stuff with rice was an appetizer that really caught my eye by how it it looked It had a cold sweet glaze like a Chinese flower royal jelly. I was saddened that it looked much smaller than I expected. It was cut very thinly which allowed the glaze to cover it all but I wish it was a bit thicker so you could taste and feel more of the lotus root The Pumpkin w cheese was tasty but a little drying on tongue from how it was fried The sliced potato dish was a dish I have not tried before but was a bit of a let down. The Potato just tastes like a mild chili oil Nothing much The fried rice was very enjoyable. It was a bit on the oily side but that also allowed it to be cooked in a way that gives it a good wok hei. Even though the rice felt a bit oily, the dish as a whole felt very light The flavor of the fried rice was also very good. The eggs in the rice could be better. It felt a bit over cooked and the pieces felt a bit too big in it. The pork belly cube came with hawthorn in a bright red sauce the flavor was nothing special. The cubes were also too big so the flavor of the sauce doesn't soak through. Flavor is barely there other than just pork Mapo tofu was very basic and felt lacking in meat.it also doesn't come with white rice which is very integral to the sacuiness of mapo tofu. For dessert I got the fried rice cake. It was very brown sugar/ molasses forward. Even though it had a nice soft bite to it, the flavor of molasses hid any depth of flavor it had. Everything felt nice to eat, felt very fresh and light. The presentation was very pleasant but the flavors did not live up to the presentation.

Check in at the kiosk when you arrive and stay close by--we missed our name being called and had to wait another 30 minutes after an already 2-hour wait for our party of five. Once seated, we understood why it's so popular. The restaurant features a beautiful water wheel, multiple levels of seating, and a lively atmosphere. You customize your meal by choosing your broth, meats, vegetables, and sauces. We started with the spicy broth, but it was overloaded with chili peppers for our taste, so we switched to the herbal broth, which was rich, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. The fresh ingredients were the highlight. We enjoyed the water spinach so much that we ordered three servings. Other favorites included the milky beef, lotus root, beef balls, bean curd sheets, and several other fresh selections. The extensive sauce bar let everyone create their perfect dipping sauce. Considering the generous portions and quality, the prices were very reasonable. The wait is long, but the outstanding food makes it worthwhile. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Flushing.

We were seated towards the back of the restaurant where we found a cockroach crawling on the bench seat. Also, the straw decoration on the bench seat was uncomfortable throughout the meal for me particularly. Our waiter, since it was our first time, helped us a lot in choosing the broth and its spice level (we ended up getting tomato and mild chongqing), as well as helping us with the amount of food we would be ordering (which turned out to be almost the perfect amount of food for our party of 6). Some of my favorite dishes that we got were the: - Wide Potato Noodles - Doesn't take that long to cook, SO chewy and nice, pairs well with any broth or sauce - Enoki Mushrooms - My favorite kind of mushroom, even more chew and great noodle substitute - Fried Breadsticks - Very crunchy and don't lose that much crunch whenever dipped or soaked in the broths. - Sliced Beef - Standard and really good meat option for hotpot. Some of their specialty beefs are also interesting, but I ended up just preferring this over those. - Beef Tendon - I lied. This was the best meat option. Extremely soft and melts in your mouth. Doesn't take more than 5 seconds to cook. Just so good. Even with everything that I liked, I didn't find that much that was superior to other hot pot places that I have been to. I did enjoy the food that we did have, but with the insane wait that I would likely have if I came back as well as the high price of the meal, I don't know if this would be worth coming back to in the future.

The environment is clean, and staff was welcoming when I dined here on a Friday evening with other Yelp Elites. The restaurant filled up with people very quickly. I cannot remember having better Northeastern Chinese food anywhere. The food came with an amazing presentation, taste, freshness and quality. I am a huge fan of the Cumin Flounder, which is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It is the best flounder that I have ever tasted in my life! The Beef Tenderloin in Brown Sauce is to die for. I loved the Minted Salted Egg Yolk and Sliced Pumpkin so much that I will come back here to order it for Thanksgiving dinner. If you can handle the spice, go for the Fried Squid Head with Spicy Peppery Sauce. It was the table favorite because most of us prefer the head or tentacles of calamari to the rings. The Molten Sugar-Crusted Yams and Dates were phenomenal. It came with a bowl of water on the side to remove stickiness from the serving spoon between helpings. We also feasted on the Sautéed Shredded Beef with Spicy Pepper, Cumin Lamb, Sliced Potatoes with Truffles and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The pickled salad certainly tickled my fancy. TIP: Eat everything with chopsticks for portion control. Thank you Andie for putting this all together, and the birthday cake that Mike bought for you was a decadent surprise because it was so chocolatey and moist.
