Food here is pretty good and the price is very economical considering that it is in the heart of midtown manhattan, just a few blocks away from Penn Station. I ordered two sushi rows special(Salmon Avocado and Easter Roll) which comes with miso soup. Also the shrimp with mixed veggies dinner combo with pork fried rice, and I changed the egg roll to Hot & Sour Soup. The side of pork fried rice was better than expected because it actually has a lot of pieces of pork. And the shrimps were huge and tasted very fresh. Compared to a lot of Chinese takeout restaurants , this place is a home run.

Ordered on their website for pickup. Very large menu with lots to choose from. Me and my friends got a variety of sushi rolls and some appetizers. The prices were reasonable and the 10 rolls plus appetizers we ordered were ready very fast. The staff were very friendly when we picked up too. I was very happy with the specialty rolls that i got (mj roll and crazy roll). One of my friends got the shrimp tempura roll and there weren't any ingredients listed on the menu so she thought it was just tempura shrimp inside but it had cucumbers inside which she is not a fan of and would have not ordered it if she knew they were in it. The rest of the rolls my friends got they said were good but nothing special.

CHEAP and YUMMY... very rare find in NYC! You can get 2 rolls for $11!!! We ordered shrimp tempura and spicy tuna rolls. We also ordered scallion pancakes which tasted great but was a little too oily for our liking. The food was also ready to pick up as expected, and I would definitely go back again! FYI there is currently no indoor seating!!

Super yummy food! I got the two rolls for take out. The restaurant is run by adorable owners and the sushi is delicious. The fish tastes very fresh and everything pulls together wonderfully. The service was also incredibly fast, I ordered in store and it was ready less than 5 minutes later.

The only good thing about this spot is that it's close to me. The sushi was quite mediocre - sticky and bland rice, damp seaweed. Then the kicker was finding a bone in the yellowtail sushi. Note that the rolls don't come with a soup/salad, which I guess is fine since it doesn't add that much value and presumably keeps costs down.

It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.

What started as a quick break turned into one of our favorite moments of the afternoon. We ended up chatting with the bartender for quite a while, swapping recommendations for speakeasies and cocktail bars around the city. It's always refreshing to meet someone who's genuinely passionate about their craft and happy to share local favorites. The cocktails were excellent, and the conversation made the experience even better. This wasn't actually our first visit--we celebrated my birthday here about three years ago, and I still remember how impressed we were with both the food and its presentation. It was nice to return and be reminded why we enjoyed it so much. We also learned that 53 has opened a speakeasy downstairs that's open on select weeknights and features live jazz. Needless to say, that's already on our list for our next trip to the city. Whether you're stopping in for a full dinner or just a well-made cocktail and a break from the Midtown bustle, 53 is well worth a visit.
