This place was really good! I have never had Vietnamese food before but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I really liked the food!!

Very disappointed and frustrated with ordering take outs with this restaurant. We have been coming here for months now and every time we placed an order, it never come out right. We ordered about $100.00 worth of food for me and my son as week and after we arrived home, they gave me the wrong pho. I asked for raw eye round beef and I got well done brisket. Totally different food. Wasn't happy since I was craving raw thin slice of beef dipping it in the hot sauce and hoisin sauce to satisfy my cravings. Big disappointment. Then a week later, I ordered the same eye round raw beef pho. The entire bag of bean sprouts, Thai basils, jalapenos, thinly sliced raw onions, cilantros and the hot sauce/hoisin sauce were all MISSING! Now, this place is not busy at all as it was around 2ish when I placed the order and when I went in to pick up the food, I was the only one there! Too frustrating to eat here again. Too many disappointments and when it couple with a nasty, rude host (older female at the register) I will not be back. Saving my cravings and bringing it to another restaurant who appreciates their customers. read more

The best Vietnamese Pho! Have found the service to be fast and consistent. Very well packaged and easily transported the meals home.

This was our first time here and my wife had been eager to try it. Everyone was pleasant when we arrived and greeted us promptly. As you see we gave it four stars , the reason being was that the restaurant was so cold that we had to wear our jackets and hats the entire time. Also the service was incredibly slow, and everything took forever. These was one waitress on and she was running her butt off and an older man helping refill water. This is the owners fault and not the waitress as she did a great job but was thrown to the wolves by not having any support around her. The food it's self was prompt and served at perfect intervals to not over fill us and let us enjoy our meal. Everything was fresh, the Pho was outstanding and the Creme Brûlée was well done. This is why we gave it four starts because the culinary aspect was so well done and delicious!! As stated in another review here, this is a no frills kind of place. If your looking for the fine dining aspect of eating out this is not the place, but if you have the time and want great food at an incredibly reasonable price you need to check them out!! read more

We went there when we were in a little bit of a hurry and we had to wait more then expected to get our food to go, even though we could see it sitting on their counter in the kitchen every time they opened the door to the kitchen. When we received our food the broth had already cooled off so the shrimp and beef didn't ever fully cook. That being said, the reason for that was a rude and argumentative costumer that took up so much of the employees' time that all the other costumers were left waiting around. All that aside, that food was good. I believe that under different circumstances the food would have been great. They did apologize for the wait and offered good consumer service to us, but in order to avoid situations where other costumers are affected maybe a little more reasonableness, professionalism and overall passive attitude toward upset customers could improve the overall experience when a situation arises. read more

Imagine, if you will: A peaceful afternoon on the Vietnamese countryside. Looking upon a beautiful farm. An elderly woman approaches from the village, and invites you to her home for dinner. This is the quality I'm talking about. The staff was so friendly and kind, the atmosphere was amazing and I can't rave enough about the good food. The pho was absolutely amazing. We've been to New Saigon Pho now numerous times since it first opened up- we love Vietnamese food and have been waiting for ages for something to open up near us that's a little closer than New Paltz and Wappingers (the same family owns all 3 restaurants), and this is right down the road from our house which is a big plus. Food is spot on, nice big portions for a very reasonable price, very authentic flavors. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy but it doesn't need to be. Menu isn't overly lengthy, but has a selection of pho soups (chicken & seafood soups are dynamite), noodle dishes, friend rice, and a number of tasty appetizers. Try the Vietnamese fried calamari-quite good! To those who have complained that their beef pho contain too much fatty meat- that is the case at just about any Vietnamese restaurant you are going to go to, they like their beef parts on the fatty side, that's just the way it is. Order chicken or shrimp next time! My only gripe with New Saigon Pho is that it takes quite a long time to get your check- once they've delivered all your food you tend to not see your waiter or waitress again and have to hunt them down to be able to pay. Not a big deal as it's a small place, but when they get busy (as they usually are each day) you might have to remind them to bring the check after a while. The restaurant also does a great job on take-out, so if you feel like stopping after work and bringing some home, it's a great choice! read more

Second time my friends and I have had dinner here. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food is fabulous. Each of us ordered something different and no one complained about the food. My only complaint is that I know that they use fat for flavor in their pho but I would like for them to remove it before the soup is served. Prices are reasonable. Large portions. read more

I'm torn with this review. The food here is awesome but the service is terrible. Went here with 3 adults and 2 kids. The first thing that happened when we sat down was the waitress came over and dropped menus and silverware sets in a pile on the table and walked away. She did not take a drink order first as is usually done. After a long wait she came back to take our meal order. Once we started to give her our order she stopped us and said she needed to go get something to write it down. We ordered our drinks at the same time but instead of them coming out first they were brought with our meals. Once our meals were brought no one came back to see if we needed anything. We had to go ask for a knife to cut our meat and were given a butter knife. When we finished no one came to clear the table and give us the bill, I had to go to the register to ask for it. As I said before the saving grace is the food is great, but with this kind of service I don't think it's with it. read more

I must say my experience at New Saigon Pho was absolutely horrible. We ordered two pho soups and pork chops for dinner. There were pictures on the menu to describe how the dish would look like. The waiter that helped us (a young man) asked if I wanted the pork chop grilled or regular, so I said grilled. When the order was being entered in their system behind the counter, the Vietnamese lady asked: "Do you want it with bone or boneless?" I said it doesn't matter. I was thinking to myself, 'That's a strange question, nobody ever asked this many questions about a pork chop order!' I've order pork chops at Vietnamese restaurants MANY TIMES in the past, and they always serve a few palm-sized pieces of meat marinated in fish sauce, with rice and some pickled veggies. It usually is a very tasty dish. However, when I got my pork chop dish at New Saigon Pho, the meat was very thinly sliced (like tiny chips of meat) and barely had any flavor. Not to mention that the quantity of the meat was very little. So I asked the lady, "Is this really the pork chops I ordered?" The waiter and the lady in a loud voice said to me, "You said it doesn't matter!" Looking back, I guess I should have known better how the words, "It doesn't matter" would be understood by the restaurant staff. What I meant was, it doesn't matter if the bone is still in the meat or not... But I still expected to get pork chop meat, and not a totally different dish. I at least expected it to resemble the picture on the menu. When it was time to pay (and payment was not an issue), I kindly mentioned that the pork chop meal was not even close to how it was described on the menu. But the response from the lady in charge was so rude and obnoxious, She screamed at me in front of other customers! I didn't want to make a scene, so I wanted to quickly pay and leave. But she made me wait by attending to other customers who came in for pick-up orders. I don't think I will ever return to this restaurant even though I live in the area. By far, this was the worse experience ever. I felt compelled to leave this review. Hopefully they will learn some manners and how to treat customers in a respectable manner. Because there are no other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, I feel that the quality of the food is pretty bad. The Vietnamese flavors may be intriguing and viewed healthy by some, but this restaurant definitely was not honest and the way they treated their customers makes me question how they will handle the food in the kitchen that the customers will eat. read more

We really love having this place in the neighborhood. Nice change from standard places in town. Very friendly people. Love the spicy beef noodle bowl, chicken curry & the mini pork dumplings. Haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but hope to eventually make it thru everything. read more

Horrible service!!!!! Please read review!!! I was with both of my parents and wanted to treat them to a pho lunch after a long day at Dr.s appointments. We walk in and there was only 1 couple aside from us. Owner took forever to come over. Then when we finally requested menus, she came and dropped them off with an attitude. I ordered a coconut bubble tea for my mom and 3 pho's. I specifically said no sugar because my mom is diabetic. After some time she came to drop off boba, mom took a sip and said it had sugar and if I could please have her make her a new one. I addressed this to the owner who said "you never said no sugar" I said I did but she was in such a hurry to leave after we placed our order you probably didn't hear. I asked for another and she returns to "bar" which we just happened to be seated in front of and is mumbling with a worker. She's going on and on. in her native tongue , but clearly is mad. After some time I ask her if there was a problem. She responds, no problem I'm making a new one but with an attitude... continues to mumble.. I finally get frustrated and ask if this was too much of a hassle I would gladly leave. She looks up and says do what you want, you can leave.. with such an attitude. At the point I pick up my coat and get up LIVID... parents notice and trail behind me. Felt bad for the couple that had to witness this, but this was necessary! read more

It's great to have more culinary choices here in Newburgh. In that regard, this restaurant is a welcome addition. The food here is usually very good although not consistent in flavor or preparation. The service, I'm sad to say is very bad. Very slow - understaffed - inaccurate pickup times for take out. That said, I have yet to get a bad meal here - so its a toss up. I'm pretty sure this is one of those restaurants that will survive despite itself, unless a savvy competitor moves into town. I order takeout and add 15 minutes to their estimate. read more

I met a friend for lunch. I had shrimp pho. She had pork vermicelli. We usually talk nonstop but not this day. We were eating and enjoying the delicious food so much we forgot everything else.
